Re: The old days - Aboard the Apollo - 1973

Really? You've been vested with Mod powers on this thread? Whoa, Homo Ego Novis in action. Until Emma confirms your Mod position I call b.s. One of the reasons people leave this thread alone is your constant emotional positioning fallacy the rest of ESMB is composed of "haters." Assumptive us vs them cult-think never ends well.

You, know, maybe moderator is not the best term to use. Let's look at the Miriam Webster full definition:

Full Definition of MODERATOR

1
: one who arbitrates : mediator
2
: one who presides over an assembly, meeting, or discussion: as
a : the presiding officer of a Presbyterian governing body
b : the nonpartisan presiding officer of a town meeting
c : the chairman of a discussion group
3
: a substance (as graphite) used for slowing neutrons in a nuclear reactor
— mod·er·a·tor·ship \-ˌship\ noun
See moderator defined for English-language learners
See moderator defined for kids

For all of you people who object to the use of scio words and insist on using standard English, look what happens to me! I use standard English and then I get ex-scientologese thrown back in my face. As Rodney Dangerfield used to say, "I don't get no respect!"

I don't see ESMB or Emma's name mentioned in any of the standard English definitions of the word.

I consider two of the definitions close to what I am attempting to do. One is to be a mediator and the other would be #2b, a nonpartisan presiding officer, not of a town meeting but of a modern day replacement for a town meeting. known as a chat room.

Those are the senses of the word in Standard English, that I was using. You can take your ex Scientologese definitions and stick them you know where. I have just been given a ram rod from Maria which I can loan out to anyone who needs it to properly powition their ex Scientologese word definitions.

I also attempt to welcome new people who post here for the first time and like to acknowledge all worthwhile posts plus I am the OP who started the thread. Just using the term OP doesn't really pick up the entirety of my function here.

To me, what I call my function is insignificant and what counts is what I say in my posts. If I screw up there, I have no problem admitting it and fixing the post. That is what is important. Nevertheless, some people are anal and will get hung up on a word like moderator and instead of using standard English, they will use ex Scientologese while trying to tear down the guy who is using standard English.

Or maybe just threads that have run as long, and have had as many views as this one. At this point, I would not be surprised if the Mods backed him up if he complained that somebody was crapping over his thread.

At three million views, Lakey gets the power to have obnoxious people executed.

As some weird looking Austrian guy with a funny mustache, once a corporal in the German Army, once said, "Today two million, tomorrow the internet!!"

Wish that was me dancing there at the start....miss those days. Those days have such a nice mood.

Lakey, The ramrod was a loaner and has to go back to where it came from.

I have no specific goals here but hanging out. You do an excellent job, otherwise you would
not have reached 2M.

I get lots of great feelings from listening to these tunes...especially that last one, Crystal Blue Persuasion.
In the days when I was a young girl going to the beach every day after school, driving around
in my brand new 1974 camaro, and going to the Honey For the Bears dance club
on weekends.

I am still a teenager.

Me too, what a coincidence, I came back from the Apollo and started at my Dad's office on Dec 11, 1973. Pops leased a 1974 Camaro as well, those were very nice cars. I drove a 1970 Dodge Challenger which I bought new. The body was banana yellow with a black vinyl top. I still have a picture of me standing along side the car back in 1970. I looked like Adonis with black hair. I had about a 32 inch waist and about a 44 inch chest, working out at the Gym about 3 days a week and going to the beaches on weekends, Manhattan, Hermosa and Redondo Beach near the L.A. Airport where the stewardesses used to hang out on. The 1970 Challenger looks very similar to today's Challenger The picture was taken about 6 months before I got into CoS.

My next song is a selection from bygone days and it has lyrics not to be forgotten, especially when entering the sometimes shark infested waters of ESMB threads. These lyrics are for all my friends on the thread, the The CO2's. well actually he is one of a kind as are all the others I will mention, Enthetan, Pruple Haze, Sweetness and Light, Leland, Hatsheput and of course Maria Cuervo. My friends and mentors all, please take these words to heart as we navigate the waters of ESMB together. The lyrics of this song says it all really, perhaps all wisdom and knowledge can lead back to the incredible lyrics as they are stated in this wonderful song!! Here it is:

Re: The old days - Aboard the Apollo - 1973

Nah, either Lakey 'has a misunderstood' on the word "moderator" (as used in reference to threads/posts here on ESMB) or he's using some other definition than the one which applies to internet message boards.

FTR, I'm the mod who drew the short straw. :)

Thank you for the clarification.
