Uuuuhhhh... the Quackwatch people...

Well, if you really want to do some research, here is a chelation therapy book that I reviewed for "International Viewpoints" (Ivy):

http://www.sgmt.at/BookReviews/Review13.htm

If you don't have time to read the whole review, scroll to the bottom and read the case of Ophelia Clementino. Then tell me about the quackwatchers again.

Thanks for thinking of me but I already tried chelation therapy around 2003. I had a full series of 30 treatments and at first I felt great and my coloring looked good. However, about 22 treatments into the series, I failed a treadmill test at my cardiologist and went in for an angiogram which revealed two blocked coronary arteries, one 90% blocked and one 99% blocked. My cardiologist inserted 2 stents to open the arteries up. The porcedure takes only a half hour or so and is painless and I was able to go home the next morning and return to work after one more day. In 2005, I had a third stent put in. Since then I have been just fine. My body built up a tolerance to the medication so my long term memory returned to 100% or higher, perhaps 120%. My short term memory is fairly good but not great.

The chelation did not cause any arterial blockage but my blockage was too far advanced for chelation to open the arteries back up. Only stents could do that.

Also, get more opinions than just mine. Maybe talk to someone who is trained to handle such things. If you are not up to blowing it by inspection, and try to wrestle with it on a figure-figure basis, you only make matters worese, sometimes much worse.
Lakey

Hi Lakey,

thanks for your feedback!

I usually blow by inspection, after several 100 hours of solo NOTs. And what I cannot handle on my own, my co-auditor will handle in the next session.

And no, "ich bin nicht aus Zucker" - german for: I am not made of sugar - I don't get wild case phenomena by reading an internet forum :) :) :)

But thank you for considering the possibility, that was very thoughtful. You make several good points!

I thank you for adding more to this topic.

Thanks for taking on the responsiblity of writing up how CCLA first started.
Yvonne was the CO AOLA at the time and yes, she started it out of a file cabinet draw, then she and Fred Payer were fired on mission to start a booking office in late '69, from the Booking Office she built a Celebrity Center, that was her origination and her efforts to expand the booking office. She idd it with little to no financing. Diana Hubbard as CS 6 gave Yvonne alot of aircover and protected her from the likes of Jane Kember the Guardian WW as Jane did not like Yvonne communicating with government officals.

Yvonne having grown up as a high society Australian debutante, knew the ways of the powerful and wealthy. LRH knew this of her when he accepted her proposal. He often referred to her as "the Celebrity of celebrities".

CCLA was built from the ground up by Yvonne and her loyal staff. She also worked the field and her execs/staff to set up CCs around the US and other locations. She personally toured the US and Mexico putting on dissemination events to help drive public into the missions and orgs while still running CCLA.
It was not, as stated by Tommy Davis, started by a group of artists - another lie to add to his many.

When Yvonne passed away in Jan '78, DM was an assistant cameraman and
knew nothing as to what it had taken to build CC to what it was. There is a specific LRH order about CCLA having a shrine for Yvonne. When I was WDC CC, this order was well known and complied with - there was an office setup with her many awards, including a board in the hall where all the keys to various cities, that had been awarded to her, hung. There was even a lounge that friends of Yvonne could go and hang and just feel comfortable in her space.

I found it very interesting that a later WDC CC, who held the post for 15 years and also oversaw the renovations of the manor which took away Yvonne's office, never knew of the LRH order about Yvonne's shrine.

Time makes no difference as to what someone has accomplished - if they did it, they did it and the acknowledgement belongs with them not the johnny come lately.

Janis Gillham-Grady

Janis - As always, it is an honor to hear from you. You are quite welcome for thanking me. Yvonne and I had our ups and downs but the Ups totally outweighed the downs :) To get to work with Yvonne was a priviledge, she really was absolutely adored by her staff and her public. This was so powerful a force that if Yvonne gave you a compliment early in the day, you would be "walking on air" the rest of the day. If she told you that you were beautiful or that you were the best person ever on a particular post, charge would blow and you would have case gain. Her name was used to settle arguments between staff members. One would try and win an argument by inferiing that Yvonne agreed with him and vice versa.

I did not know that she was raised as a debutante. I guessed that she moved in wealthy circles just from the ease with which she conducted herself around wealthy and well connected people. TONTO, in my story of how CC got started has that same exact trait. The bigger the celebrity, the more comfortable and relaxed Yvonne and Tonto were and the more the celebrity looked up to them. A lot of the wealthy people who were public were always trying to take her to buy clothes or get her to have her hair done in a swanky Beverly Hills salon. Often she turned them down but if a special occasion or event was coming up where she needed to speak, she would take them up on it.

She and Milton Katselas,, arranged for the staff to attend the movie "That's Entertainment" en masse. Perhpas a skeleton crew was left to keep the org open. After the movie, Yvonne and Milton talked to us staff back at the Centre and they were trying to instill the same confidence and ease in us in dealing with Celebrities as they had. One time at break, I heard the famed director Ernest Lehman mention my name in talking with another celeb. Maybe I mailed him an FSM check or something but he knew I was in Treasury. I decided to approach him and introduce myself, based on what Yvonne and Milton had told us. Ernest Lehman did not respond as I had hoped, but just said to me in response to me introducing myself, "If you'll excuse me, I've got to go to my session and walked briskly away from me, looking a little annoyed that I had talked to him. Some celebs were very approachable and some weren't, I did not feel slighted.

Yvonne had a knack for talking to rank and file people who were not celebrities. Some who she was extremely comfortable with were the registrar, Hector Carmona who she encouraged to look and act like a celebrity and he did. Pat Gualteri was a light hearted guy who started low and rose to be an exec and Yvonne had a great comm line with him. Tony Klock in estates and who waited talbe for the execs in his tux was a favorite of hers. She loved some of the higher ranking female executives such as Felice Brand later Felice Lisa, married to Joe Lisa. She respected Soo Forbes who audited her on Expanded Dianetics and kidded around with Richard Forbes. She took a real liking to Wings Hauser who she said would be bigger than Elvis. On the lower level guys who ran Central Files or Mimeo or people like that, she enjoyed going to their areas and they would act so honored to see her and would try and roll out the red carpet and she would get down and shmooze with them and make a joke or two. If there was any type which she was a little uncomfotable with, it was someone like me. I had a math background and had been to the University and was very analytical and mathematical. She recognized that I might know more about non Scientology subjects such as current events, politics, the stock market, etc.. She might have been a little worried that she might not know about certain subjects where I knew a lot, and that might have made her just slightly uneasy. For my part, she was OT 7, FEBC grad and my college education counted for nothing against her OT knowledge but she may not have felt that comfortable around me. The closest other people to my type, kind of intellectual and on the conservative side were Dick Hubbard (but he was not nearly as well educated as me), Chris Rutkowski, the FBO, and Hentry Baumgard, the book store officer but she got along famously with all three of them.

I had heard that she taught kindergarten in Australia, is this true? Another anectdote I recall is that she was working in the garden at the staff house at 9th and Lake and I had to ask her a job related question and approached her. She mentioned to me in passing something to the effect that she had figured out the Factors almost verbatim before she read of them in an LRH book. I reacted with shock and said, "You knew the Factors by heart before you read them or heard them?!" She answered me, in a casual off hand way, "Oh yes, darling, it was no big deal." I said, " Sir, I am so impressed with what you just said, it really seems like a big deal to me!" She said, "Not really, a lot of people had already figured them out, not just me." These are approximate words but it went something like that.

Well, I've got another chapter or two to write about the earliest days of CC and I will bring out at least one chapter later tonight or first thing tomorrow morning.

Heidrun, Welcome! Does anyone ever call you Heidi? :)

Hi!

Calling me Heidi has stopped when I asked my parents to use my full name :)

I'm so glad you decided to join us here on ESMB. There are a great bunch of people here!

Oh yes! I just need to find out who is who. I have been here before, but typically I'm more at home on the Yahoo! mailing lists. To stay up to date on all good SCN forums definitely asks for more than one body :) :)

I can vouch for the fact that Lakey will have affinity flows with Austria and Austrians, and that he has reality on past life stuff there. You may find you have lots in common! :) Believe it or not I could understand much of what you wrote, thanks to my Mennonite Grandma, I guess. I would translate that word "fesseln" as "gripping", a gripping tale...

Oh yes, very good word. Wasn't in the online dictionary though.

Having fun with the HTML editing options here...

Yeah, more goddesses!

Oooh, pretty colors!

O.K. Now it's official, we are now a multi-lingual thread! :melodramatic: Lakey, the thread is getting collective case gain! :D Not to mention a better education.

Well, Heidrun, sooner or later everyone that we like gets a nickname here, so prepare yourself...we'll try to be gentle! :) Humm, not Heidi, huh? Need to put on my thinking cap! :eyeroll:

You know, I might try chelation therapy. We have several companies that sell products here. My sweet little arteries might not be so occluded that they wouldn't get some good benefit from it. I would like to avoid going the stent route in later life. Unless I become a total vegan, and I just don't see that happening...

I didn't know! or I had not the least idea! that you were OT 7 with 100's of hours of NOTS. Blue Spirit posted a link to a site with your picture and a lot of info on you and I see that you are a veteran.

Sorry, I took you for a newer person, not so high on the the Bridge. You mentioned to me your dilemma and I wanted to answer something without puting you in Danger of messing up your case. I meant well and did my best to answer you.

Had I known that you were a veteran OT 7 with a lot of experience at blowing things by inspection, I would have written you different advice. Being OT 7 and having something difficult for you to blow, you know where to go and what to do so no need to say more.

What do you think of Sweetness and Lights suggestion to posturlate a bridge or ladder to go over the strange masses that are tending to stop you. If a person was in pretty good shape they could probably make that work. I wonder if that was used in Creative Processing which LRH was working on in the early 1950's.

Ich habe eine frage fur dich, Wie kan mann ubersetzen die name "Sweetness and Light?" Ist "Suissekeit und Licht" richtig? how about "Gute schmeck and Weisheit"? oder "Gute Schmeck und Entwickelnheit"

Translation: I have a question for you. How can one translate the name "Sweetness and Light"? How about "Sweetness and Light", "Good taste and WIsdom" or "Good taste and enlightenment"

I know some of the spelling is bad but which one comes the closest to a proper translation of her name? Are none of them good, if so please give the correct translation.

It's not only the heart arteries. Also those in the brain. I have watched a most beautiful and precious man plunge into dementia - real madness, believe me. That was a total heartbreak (later run in session, fortunately).

Nobody needs this kind of adventure. We have real games to play!

Oh BTW I am told that garlic also does some plaque removal. I'm now trying that (the EDTA I already know to be working).

Fine, bad link.

How about the American Heart Association?

After carefully reviewing all the available scientific literature on this subject, the American Heart Association has concluded that the benefits claimed for this form of therapy aren’t scientifically proven. That’s why we don’t recommend this type of treatment.

And a major study on it was shut down pending an investigation. That investigation found that at least three of the people running the study were convicted felons. License suspensions ensued.

To be clear and fair: I'm not one of the opinion that something that's not scientifically statistically significant isn't a useful therapy. It may well help some people.

I'm also not opposed to alternative therapies when conventional therapies have failed. I am, however, opposed to people saying that something works very well in a large number of cases when it's not been shown to be scientifically statistically significant. Which chelation hasn't in this application.

Hi Lakey,

a veteran only in years in the church - I didn't get very much done there, they kept stopping and stopping and stopping me. Most of my progress happened after I left in 1996. And of course the OT7 is new OT7, NOTs completion, not the precious original LRH level that I still want to do one day!

Sorry, I took you for a newer person, not so high on the the Bridge. You mentioned to me your dilemma and I wanted to answer something without puting you in Danger of messing up your case. I meant well and did my best to answer you.

You really gave me a very good answer. As I said, it was very thoughtful of you to consider the possibility that your input could cause case reactions. I appreciate both, the input and this thoughtfulness!

Had I known that you were a veteran OT 7 with a lot of experience at blowing things by inspection, I would have written you different advice. Being OT 7 and having something difficult for you to blow, you know where to go and what to do so no need to say more.

I could imagine that it solves things temporarily. But typically I am more for addressing masses and really handling them, instead of walking around or across.

It's probably a matter of priorities. If they get into my way while I am busy doing something else, I may choose the walkaround. If I have time for a thorough clean-up, I would probably address them.

I found that after the so-called "standard bridge" (of which we have several versions), there is still the "own GPMs" case waiting to be handled. I am just co-auditing that and there is lots of "stuff" still showing up. These masses may well be part of it (my humble opinion).

Ich habe eine frage fur dich, Wie kan mann ubersetzen die name "Sweetness and Light?" Ist "Suissekeit und Licht" richtig? how about "Gute schmeck and Weisheit"? oder "Gute Schmeck und Entwickenlheit"

"Süße und Licht" would be a literal translation. Of course this does not transport LRH's rather gloomy definition of the term, nor the glorious self irony of a Scientologist to pick that as a screen name :)

I really like this thread, but I'm afraid I have a very busy day starting. I'm on strike re: Christmas, but I am working on a text for a new business venture that may be coming my way - bringing SCN tech into the business world on a broad basis. I met a real "mover and shaker" who has cognited on both the potential of this tech, and my capabilities of making it work for untrained people.

I will see this guy tomorrow, and my text is only half done. So, I'll come back to this discussion, but cannot say when!

Have a nice Christmas!

I see your point!

If these texts were all honest and not the result of a campaign aimed at ripping people off for conditions that could be handled, I would agree with you... but there is a huge industry living from keeping people sick, and they do everything to discredit workable approaches that would run them out of business. Chelation therapy is not the only one.

Said the king to the bishop: "You keep them stupid, I'll keep them poor!"

It's all about keep the believers believing, so that they can be milked permanently for every penny they earn, instead of truly educating them about all the options they have. Or why do you think that there is still so little education about the bad foods that cause all these conditions?

I recommend www.mercola.com . He is trained as a doctor but has kept his integrity and does educate the public.

And now I'm off to work :)
