"Interview with Kima Douglas,
Oakland, California, 27 August 1986

I remember this time very well. The guy who was head of Avatar came to Berkeley to give a talk. Everyone was there to hear his spiel. Even Allan Kapular was there (after Virginia had died). Michael and I compared notes about Laurie, his ex.

If anyone is keeping track, Michael Douglas died young too. In his mid 50s on Kauai.

Umm. Ja well no fine, as we say in South Africa.

Roger I assume you are familiar with the power processes - I've audited a few people on them and they are great fun and productive of great benefit to the case IF it has been set up properly.

But the EP of it has nothing to do with Sources, and also has nothing to do with anything you can figure out from reading the subject matter or commands. I don't know whether LRH had them run on him or not, but for him to be able to spot what the EPs should be tell of some incredible insight into the mind and thetan.

The Power Processes have their own EPs, different to other grades. You can find out what they are elsewhere if you don't already know - I am not going to discuss them.

I don't know where you are coming from on this one, mate. I don't speak Afrikaans. (I have no smilies or formatting today)

I spoke of Pr. Pr. One.

Dart wrote a whole thread on the Pr. Prs. here:
http://www.forum.exscn.net/showthread.php?t=8740

In it he cites the commands of Pr. Pr One which are:

SOURCE

This is the first of the power processes. The commands are VERY simple, but within them lies a whole ball of wax.

TELL ME A SOURCE
TELL ME ABOUT IT

TELL ME A NO-SOURCE
TELL ME ABOUT IT

It looks sooooo easy, doesn't it ?

However, if you, as the processer, are not fully present, your processing space is not completely safe and the client is not completely wanting to do the process, then any results will be muted.

Given that the subject being processed is that of "source" how can the EP of the process not be related to source.

And yes, I am familiar with the Pr. Processes . . . . I did them before the bridge was truncated.

For many, I would say their EP might well have been as a release from the aberration on the subject processed. For others it might have been a full recovery of true spiritual power and volition on the subject.

But note the subject being processed here is also a major power and faculty of a spiritual Being.

So the question becomes, to what level of recovery of full mastery over the power and faculty did the individual achieve.

That is the point I am raising as regards the question asked concerning LRH's aberration or lack thereof on the subject of "source."

In my view, it appears he did not take it all the way to the top of the scales where true sanity on the subject pertains. Like most things in his life, he was superficial with it; he stopped short of full mastery. He stopped the action at the first sign of a win . . . a point that is evident throughout all his research: superficiality and incompleteness.

And so, he continued to dramatize being a dominating, abusive "source."

Great story so far. I love hearing about what happened 'at the top.' My small experience with Sea Org (I was EPF for three months) they believe they can get anything done because they are Sea Org. And if things don't go they way they want then if they yell loud enough it should go right.

Well, yelling is NOT Tone 40 intention.

Tone 40 intention is completely effortless.

We learned that on TR 8!

Hi Heidrun - You must be having the time of your life meeting all these fanstastic people in Northern Europe. Hopefully, you will supply us a full debrief upon your return home to Austria. Maybe I should use my Skype phone and get a personal debrief ahead of the rest of the board. Thanks to Leon I cleaned up a bad handling of my OT III level which AOLA bestowed on me way back in 1976. With that false EP cleared up, my aura may have changed somewhat.

Yes, well, maybe you learned it on TR 8, but I kept hearing people yelling while doing their "tone 40" drills.

I found this thread in December. Great stories. I particularly like the un-slanted view, Lakey, including the positive with the negative and standing by it. I like the direction this thread is going in. That is, a productive dialog in present time by some of the wisest, most able and most ethical beings on the planet... and you know... getting into the really interesting stuff without all the negativity. I understand the negative feelings, even the total rejection and condemnation considering the twisted and destructive crap that's evidently become the norm in the church... and that many here have been through, and it's great for all to have the opportunity to get it all out here. but what I'm really more interested in is what is and can be done now tech wise and group-wise, and this thread continues in that direction... and it seems to get better every day. I had some time over the holidays and caught up with reading the entire thread and have kept up with it since.

I've especially enjoyed your stories of CCLA. I was there about that time. I haven't been able to place you yet. We had to have been there at the same time my memory just hasn't clicked yet. I wasn't on staff long. Joined first of January 1971 and routed off August 1971. I liked mostly everybody there, on staff, but was only at all close to a few. It was a group I really didn't have much problem committing to for a billion years or whatever it took. Their purposes were my purposes or so it seemed.... close enough.

Glad to hear about Hector. He was always a friend to me there. Looking forward to that.

Yeh, I concur Sock1 . . . and I particularly welcome your rational appreciation of the truth of the good and the bad we have to deal with.

This is the kind of balanced judgment that will resolve what has to be cleaned up for many.

So, Sockie . . . a very big welcome.

Welcome Newbie Sockie! How wonderful that you chose us to make your first post here on ESMB! (Hey Lakey, we pulled in a VIRGIN! Yippee! :D) Feel free to share your stories, feelings and insights with us, Sockie! You are very welcome here, I'm glad you joined us! :happydance: I think you might find some old friends here on ESMB, and I'm sure that you can make some new ones!

Heidrun, this is what was supposed to be learned on TR 8, but wasn't universally successful by my observation...I think maybe it was presented incorrectly in some cases, or the directions were changed at some point. I can verify Thetanic's experience, I heard routine yelling, too. (And I think more than one heavy glass ashtray went flying out an open window! :coolwink:) But those urban legends abounded at "our" Mission... :D

How did all those SO Missionaires get to be such screamers and face rippers if this tech wasn't squirrelled in some way for upper management use? I don't think that the current culture of management by loud overt verbal abuse just evolved, I think it was taught, either directly or by example. :confused2:

Heidrun, have a wonderful trip! It sounds great!

Yep, I heard yelling described as Tone 40 and figured people had a crashing MU on serenity. I did see true tone 40 when I was in, but it didn't involve ashtrays....

Great to have you as a Newbie here Sock1!! Thanks for picking up on the fair and balanced reporting style. I think my model is Omar Garrison, the investigative reporter who wrote several objective books about Scn in the early to mid 70's. Another would be model is Ralph Nader, but I do not think he is objective enough for my tastes. He bashed the Chevrolet Corvair and had nothing good to say about it. My Dad owned two of them and just loved his. We did have a roll over accident in it however. My Mom was driving and the family was going to Phoenix Arizona in 1964. It was night time and I was in the back seat, my Mom dozed off while driving and a wheel went into the shoulder on the right side of the road and the resulting noise and boucing woke her up and she yanked the steering wheel sharply to the left and the car rolled over 3 times and landed in a ditch. I emerged completely unscathed and both parents had a few minor cuts. My Dad went right out and bought another one, this time a sporty "Monza" model. What did they say, "Get your kicks on Route 66".

If you were on CC Staff from Jan to Aug of 1971, we would know each other, at least in passing. From Oct '70 to Oct '71, I was on lines there as public receiving the lower bridge auditing and doing my training on the Standard Dianetics Course, pre NED. I graduated, having to audit several CC staff members to complete my course requirements. I quit my job at IBM in August of 1971 and lived off of savings. I finally joined the S.O. in October of 1971 as CC's first dianetic interne.

I believe I knew everyone on staff, about 150 people. Perhaps you could send me a PM, Private Message, and reveal your name. Anyway, Sock!, please PM me with your name and contact info or at least present your personal story or better yet do both. By the way, if you are still around the L.A. area, we are starting to have a once a month Koffee Klatch, type of get together for thread members. For that, discuss it with me or Sweetness and Light and we will give you the time and place.

Ralph Nader was a moron.

Is a moron.

if he ever got smart, would be an idiot.

Details at 6.

Corvairs were fun to drive. Switching lanes was a blast.

Scientology makes smart people do stupid things and honest people do dishonest things

I think my model is Omar Garrison, the investigative reporter who wrote several objective books about Scn in the early to mid 70's.

Omar Garrison's low point, in his writing career, was his time working for Scientology. He had a behind-the-scenes arrangement with the Guardians office, and wrote and had published two books re. Scientology. These were slanted in favor of Scientology and are, IMO, not reliable sources of information or analysis.

The saying is true - "Scientology makes smart people do stupid things and honest people do dishonest things." And Garrison was not exempt from that truism. He was also not exempt from one of Scientology's favorite practices: silencing people, and finally succumbed to a "settlement" and gag agreement.

However, his friend and associate Gerry Armstrong is still talking.

And the story of Garrison's final project (LRH biography) for Scientology, in which the lies and absurdity became too much, is, I hope, fairly well known.

To his credit, Garrison, finally, wouldn't cooperate any further, and recognized how extensively he had been misled by Scientology, and finally quit.

Out of respect for Garrison this comment needed to be made. His legacy should not be having been a shill for Scientology, as he was much more than that and did much more than that.

Happy trails Omar, wherever you are. :)

Yes, fine, well thank you for this informative update on Omar Garrison. I saw hims speak a couple of times in L.A. at events where Yvonne was present. Most CC staff were encouraged to attend. He seemed pro LRH early on in his coverage of Scientology and I guess, as he worked with Armstrong on the LRH Biography commisioned by Int Managment, he found out about the unsavory side of LRH by being exposed to Armstrong's files. The story I read says the C of S bought out his contract to write the book, paid him in full, took his manuscript and burned it. They settled with Garrison and and part of the settlement was a gag order. Once they paid him off, he remained silent forever afterward. That book he wrote would have made some great reading nowadays bit since the manuscript was burned, unopened, no one but Garrison knows what was inside the book and he is dead now.

Oddly, when he was writing his favorable books, he learned a lot about the subject of Scn and commented favorable on it but he never joined C of S. I believe that Management prefered it that way so that he would appear more objective and more non biased than if he had become a member.
