Johnny, is your post a double post?

Hey, Johnny!

In red above, that's a helluva setup you are fishing for.

The ability to predict is a good thing. But why bother with baiting the shit slingers? This in a sense is what Hubbard called, "forwarding the enemy line."

The shit might hit the fan by reason of your posting, it might not. Your statement in red makes it look like you could be putting it out there for people to respond in that manner.

No one slung you any shit from this thread, we enjoy an advance notice of something or at least I do. Is this a double posting? The effect Ted speaks of might appear down there but I would expect that many of those detractor blokes will cut you some slack for it being you're birthday and while on that topic, I would like to wish you a happy birthday!

Our present to you is to do all we can to make your decision to come to planet Earth be a decision which you do not regret. We hope that you will self reflect, and say to yourself, ",,,,it was touch and go on Earth for a while, but there are a lot of good people there working to make that planet a decent place to live, and you know what, my decision to live their, after all is said and done, was a wise decision." With that said, HAPPY BIRTHDAY:happydance::happydance:
Lakey
P.S. Just so you know, one of the things which I wish to come to fruition is that you do not regret your decision to live on Earth but are glad you made it!

Your right...and EP's right, too.

Her name is in my folders somewhere, where ever they are.

She is gone on but she knew how a felt about her. When I was in 8th grade I was the regional speech and debate champion...she drove hundreds of miles to attend the tournament...it meant the world to me for her to be there.

A few years ago I sent a long letter about her to the current pricipal of my little school...it's still there and small. He reads the letter at a faculty meeting at the beginning of each school year.

IMO, the most effective way to improve primary and secondary education is to decentralize, localize, downsize and "neighborhood" the system and use the funds to create low student/teacher ratios, provide tutoring where needed and seek out, hire and retain the Ms. Angels. The System, as it stands, is a classic self-serving Monolithic Command and Control Organization.

Face:)

Brilliant pair of posts on this Face.

This paragraph in red above is right on the money.

MY Sweet Virginia tutors adults who failed out of the current mill that is our educational system today. (She does this as a member of Literacy Partners, a not-for-profit that took on the job of fixing what needs fixing)

Effective teaching requires the care and responsibility for each of the individuals being educated that your Ms. Angel took with you.

The group known as Teach for America is getting back to that level of care and responsibility on the part of individual teachers for each individual student. And guess what? Are they being fought by the current system and the teachers' union . . . you betcha!

When I grew up, teachers were honored. That has changed, sadly. Those that start out good soon get ground down by the system that is such that it defeats them.

And some of the reasons why were noted in my OBITUARY thread on the Death of Common Sense.

Rog.

Paul, now what is your honest opinion? Is their any other thread equal to us or better than us or do you believe a thread should just take up one set topic, discuss it thoroughly until it dies out and then the thread comes to an end.

Ideally, I think a thread should be about its title, and all the pertinent commentary over the years should end up on that thread, and all the irrelevant garbage should drop off and disappear after a while. Of course, that is unreal, but it would be nice if it happened. Each time I have something new to say about the Mark VIII Phuctum meter, for instance, I try and add it to the existing Phuctum thread. That gets complicated by the fact that there isn't one, with my prior lengthy comments and photos and specs etc. spread out over several threads, so I just pick one of them. I figure starting yet another thread on the same subject would be compounding the problem.

I don't think at all in terms of the #1 thread and compare stats like you do. I don't have a problem with you claiming the #1 title. I haven't seen the FCDC thread for months and had forgotten about it. I must have put it on ignore as dev-t way back then!

If I was feeling unbelievably charitable, I would spend ten hours a week distilling the gems of ESMB into a huge series of E-books, probably in PDF format, maybe 100 of them, each one devoted to one main topic. One single post could be in more than one thread, but definitely in moderation. I vaguely had an idea like this a couple of years back when I had completed Bea's story and Dart's stuff. Those probably took 20-30 hours each, as I tidied them up a lot and put them into a neat format and so forth (free download of each at www.paulsrabbit.com). I spent about 10 hours on Mo's story but it required a huge amount of tricky editing to get into what I considered to be an acceptable format and I got maybe 25% of the way through it and then dropped it as too slow and hard to do. If someone paid me to do it I would, but. . . . :)

Just gathering all the individual posts from one poster (i.e., from mainly one but possibly more threads and deleting ALL commentary from others), copying/pasting them in the order they were written, then literally hitting the "create PDF" button (in OpenOffice), and doing absolutely nothing else (no typo correction or placing in logical order or indexing or adding headings and sub-headings or adding footnotes etc. etc. whatsoever) would be about 5% of the work involved in making a "proper" product. I figure anyone could do that as there is no real skill involved beyond being able to copy/paste. As soon as you get into deciding what goes in and what goes out, and all the other stuff involved in editing and designing and proofing it starts getting tricky.

It would actually be a masterful editing job to take, say, 100 topics of interest to the editor (let's be real here!), distill out the most important posts on each topic (maybe 10-100 posts per topic) from all concerned, and place them in a coherent fashion in 100 ebooks or as "ESMB highlights compilations" as a read-only (editor can still add/delete posts) subset of the main board. It would actually be pretty tough to do that. Many here would have the ability to do it, but it's a lot of work, and would have to be a labour of love as no-one is going to pay for it. I don't plan to do it in the foreseeable future, for example, so don't get your hopes up.

Thanks for explaining that and curse my typos!

One simple answer: He said that scientology was all about you. Really, it was all about Him.

As for a separate thread, perhaps I will move on that some time in the future. Right now there isn't enough of me available to carry the load. I am here at this time as a diversion that I don't have to give much thought.

Ted, thanks so much for explaining your situation. I would also like to concur with Roger and Face that your posts are on a role, conisistently thought provoking and spot on.

Drat those friggin typos I make. I reread my post and saw that I wrote that Artie Johnson got a lot of KNOWLEDGE out of his two words, "very interesting." Of course I meant to say a lot of MILEAGE. There were other typos too, I fixed them all but a little too late, you had already copied my post.

Ted, if you like, I could copy-paste your post and start the thread for you and sort of co host and answer some of the replies. You could chime in as your availability of time permits. Let me know if this is okay with you. I would like to do it, it is a very good topic to pursue. Unless you give the okay, I will not do it. It is your call.

Thanks, Lakey. But it is not my knowledge, not my copy, not my stuff. I am but a messenger with added commentary. If you would like to start a new thread, that is up to you. I will not have time or energy to give it any in-depth contribution.

Paul

"Very interesting" post Paul. I have two comments.

SAYING THIS IS THE BEST THREAD ON ESMB - I am not aware of saying this publicly. I've talked about it mainly with Carmelo. There is no secret that he and I both feel that it is the best but as far as I know we keep that comment to ourselves. I also talked to Blue Spirit by phone Yesterday and he and I both mentioned that we thought it was. Then Face always says it is his favorite thread (by far) and Ethics Particle has written me similar accolades as has FoTi. These people just state that they love it without necessarily comparing to other threads. Then finally, there are Fisherman's comments. He is not a true ex in that he was never in Scientology and he is a scholar and he thinks hands down we have the best informed and literate posters not only on ESMB but that we compare favorably with any other source he has been exposed to. We are GOOD, VERY GOOD. We don't need to compare ourselves to others. I would never publicly proclaim us to be the Best.

Carmelo and I set what we thought was a lofty goal for this thread. Everything we talked about or tried worked better than expected and our thead exceeded our expectations by a vast amount. Something like this does not occur all that often in the physical universe and quite frankly, it is something that I find exciting. Carmelo who thinks on a grand and large scale anyway is truly amazed at how this thread is going. I know for a fact that he is "tickled pink" as we old timers used to say or in more modern parlance, he is "stoked" and "blown away" as am I. The thread is in power right now. I have never been part of something that went into such a strong power before and I love being involved in its creation.

Pauls remarks about E books. How much money do you think we are looking at to edit the thread and make it into 100 e books in PDF format? If times were good such as 2006 and 2007 when as much business as one could handle was available, I would pay to have it done in a hearbeat but in this economy, I would be going out ethics, I believe, if I tried to put in the necesssary money.

I have some experience making EPUB books (for Nook and Stanza and iPad's iBooks and Adobe Digital Editions, among others), so I've actually started working on making parts of Clearbird into e-books. I don't know anything about Kindle formatting at this point. EPUB is basically XHTML.

That said, it's already edited material, but I've been waffling about whether to make things one book per level (which would lead to redundancy of ancillary materials like glossaries) or one big book (which would be harder to find things in).

Of course, I hope this book (or these books) would be posted on the various sites where Clearbird was available, having the advantage of offering an offline reference format. I've already done the Power and R6 materials, but I'm not yet happy with the formatting.

After that, I was considering talking to Dulloldfart to convert the existing ESMB stories he has in PDF into e-book formats.

Beyond that, who knows, I may be interested in doing a more ESMB-wide thing, but it's not going to be soon.

From the article, "Spiritless Humans."

"Their behavior tends toward being glib, shallow, egotistical, narcissistic, mundane, predatory, and materialistic. Sometimes these traits are camouflaged by a polished social exterior, but anyone with a discerning eye can see through the disguise. They lack individuality, independent thinking, and are strongly biased toward holding a herd mentality. They lack comprehension of anything beyond the material sphere of the five senses, and have no interest in such metaphysical matters except as flashy accessories to boost their social image. They also appear entirely incapable of empathy, soul-searching, and willful self-sacrifice. Nevertheless, in the presence of others they can put on a flashy show of concern, distress, or altruism for purposes of social manipulation; for example, crocodile tears to elicit sympathy, or doing something nice for another solely to guilt trip them later and extort a favor.

"Psychically scanning their consciousness reveals something interesting. There is a certain simplicity, flatness, and inertness to their essence, even if their intellects are highly developed. Unlike other people, their conscious energy is more diffuse, dull, impermanent, and amorphous rather than solid, sparkling, crystallized, and concentrated. Put another way, their minds are like sand castles instead of real castles. There is something animalistic and rudimentary piloting their bodies. It seems they have conscious awareness just as plants and animals do, but not conscious self-awareness as humans are supposed to have. There is an important difference between awareness and self-awareness."

Interesting article, long and interesting.

Pauls remarks about E books. How much money do you think we are looking at to edit the thread and make it into 100 e books in PDF format?

I think that would be a silly thing to do. I was talking about the entirety of ESMB (450,000 posts), not just this single limited thread, sprawling as it is. For example, I have 49 posts in this thread, about one third of one percent of my total output. I don't know if I would include even one of my posts from this one thread on an overall ESMB "highlights" board of "10-100 best posts concerning each of 100 topics," but I consider I have posts on this board worth adding to some general "best-of" collection.

I would have little personal interest in doing the job, especially if it was being paid by someone short of the money!

But to answer your question with a wild-ass guess, 150-300 hours. If you were paying ME I would probably quote that at something like $2000 (I'm cheap).

The steps involved, some of which would be optional, and some are probably missing as this isn't an official estimate and quote, might involve:

1. Deciding (through consultation with client) on the topics (this would be ongoing and require tweaking throughout);

2. Deciding on useful categories, useful in the sense that it would limit which posts needed to be looked at to determine whether they should be included in any particular topic;

3. Skimming through all 4500 posts, tagging each post with applicable categories (many posts would end up with zero categories);

NOTE: Steps 1, 2 and 3 are very messy and time-consuming to do properly!

4. Picking a topic, selecting all possible posts for that topic using applicable categories;

5. For that topic, reading more carefully the posts in that relatively small pool, and deciding whether to include them or not;

6. Optional: Deleting the parts of each post that don't apply to the topic at all. And what to do about comments that refer to posts not included in the final distillation? It's not insoluble, but it adds to the time.

7. Optional: Correcting obvious typos, but not heavily editing or going for a consistent "house style";

8. Optional: Dicking with the result, like adding headings, sub-headings, footnotes, links; and also manually correcting automated formatting errors. This would not particularly include embellishments like researching images or links or videos when these were not included in the original, but "footnotes" and any further indexing allows a lot of variation;

9. Formatting. PDF is fairly easy and quick. HTML is relatively easy but not necessarily fast to create something attractive. I don't like formats based on plain text too much (like a Notepad document) as they are very dull and bland and don't allow hyperlinks and tend to be iffy with images. However, mobile formats and e-readers often require such a bland format as a starting point.

10. Copyright of original authors: Sticking it as a subset of ESMB shouldn't really be a problem at all. Creating PDFs or hosting online but not on ESMB would really require permission of everyone whose post was included, which might be tricky to do. Of course you can then just remove the post(s) concerned, but it is all time taken.

11. Repeat as above for the next topic. And so on.

12. Refine the product(s), as the first draft isn't going to be the best possible product.

Paul

EDIT: Oh, if I was doing this for the whole of ESMB, some of these steps would have to be changed. It's unreal to go through 450,000 posts categorising each! I have some ideas as to how I would do it, but they're not part of this post.

ESMB is a Community with many people having a primary or secondary residence here. This thread is one of its larger, permanent Neighborhoods.

The Community has a basic structure, frame work and culture.

The Neighborhoods, within the structure and frame work, develop there own creations, variations and cohort groups within the Culture and, within the Community overall cohort groups.

Culture can be “framed” but not dictated within an open society. Sub-culture cohorts groups are “organic” and “fractal”.

Lakey didn’t start this thread to have “power stats” and “be the biggest and best”.

Lakey started this thread to open his heart and his mind to the Community, to communicate, to learn, to participate and continue his quest to find an ideological “home”.

A “cluster” of friends formed and began “hanging out” together...a "commune" evolved. Carmelo, the developer, saw the “10,000 foot oblique shot”…that this commune was becoming a neighborhood, and like all good developers, realized that a “cool” permanent Neighborhood could be established with and for Lakey and the cluster.

Like all great neighborhoods, things have just kinda evolved and although there is a framework it is flexible, accommodates change and is evolving…organically, fractaly.

We are all part of the Community and have activities and friends all over “Town”. Lots of folks visit here and are always welcome. Many visit here lurking “anonymously”, and they are very welcome, indeed, as they are guests, enjoying this little Neighborhood within the Community…I was once one of them and I appreciated who was here and what was being done here.

Many of us here helped build the monster and feed the beast. I did more than my share—a fact that I am not proud of but, not hang-dog ashamed of, either. My contributions here will hopefully help others with their “dismantling” process. I helped build and operate the monster and personally “fed” the beast.:coolwink:

I think Lakey deserves to be openly and unabashedly proud of this neighborhood…our neighborhood, my neighborhood…that bears the name he gave to it, “The old days – Aboard the Apollo – 1973”.

:aliengreeting:Tomorrow the 4th of August 2010 will be my birthday. I am not sure if it was a good idea to come to this planet and reality, but I did, so I am working to make the best of it.

In celebration, I would like to submit my Johnny Raff Chronicle Number - 2, and since it is my birthday, I would like it if those of you who choose to be “less than kind” with my first submission, would give me a break, and not the kind of break that breaks something dear to me.

Ron once said that as auditors we should neither believe or disbelieve what the preclear says. We should simply accept, duplicate, understand and acknowledge in a way that demonstrates sincere respect of the person and for everything they have to say. I fully subscribe to the idea that one should be allowed to do whatever they damn well please. Well as I have discovered, many ESMB members subscribe fully to that idea also. So you will of course respond however you respond, and I promise to respect that. However, if you wish to give me a break this time, I will most sincerely appreciate it.

I plan to submit all 18 pages of Chronicle Number two, but I will break it into parts with red titles so you can digest it in pieces if you prefer to do it that way..

I plan to post it sometime in the wee hours of the morning when most people sleep. That way I can duck out before any shit hits the fan.

As always, I wish you all you wish for yourself.

If you use InDesign, you can get both EPUB and PDF out of the same document. For the ones I've done that way, I post-process the EPUB to remove a lot of the crapola InDesign adds.

Face, you are the Kleenex Company's biggest promoter. I need to get some Kleenex from TMT, this post of yours is just a rat-ta-tat-tat of truth after thruth in machine gun fire type fashion. You start firing and don't come up for air until your magazine is emptied with all shots being bullseyes.

One tiny addenda I would like to add to your very accurate list of why I started my story is, I WANTED TO DEBRIEF, I NEEDED TO DEBRIEF. My need to debrief was a compulsion! At the time, February, 2009, I still believed in the priniciple of being the odd man out. I figured that the vast majority of people on C of $ lines were wining and I was one of the few having difficulties. I figured that the "why" was invovled with some deep seated case phenomena that was below my ability to view it.

What a difference a year and a half can make. I have not had one session (except 4 Idenics sessions) nor taken ant courses. Despite this, I have basically remade my entire personality and have stabilized my case. All the changes were from just interchanging communications on ESMB. This is the best case level I have attained to this date by far. I know that there are more levels to go, more knowledge and wisdom, higher levels of awareness to achieve but right now I am stuck in a win and just want to enjoy this level of awareness for a bit longer. It is everything I ever envisioned that night of June 5, 1970 when I went to Seton Thomas's intro lecture at the L.A. Org.

Getting back again to Face and his post. His arrival here which seems like a year ago but is only a couple of months ago, was a huge cataliyst in expanding this neighborhood. A new guy who was an insider who worked directly with LRH suddenly appearing out of nowher. That was at the very top of my wish list and it came to pass in the Form of Face. Now we have The Magic Thetan joining ESMB with this thread as his home base.

I had a bit of a new awareness while reading Face's quoted post, realizing that the way this thread is being built may be similar to how some earlier universes than this came into existence. I am virtually sure that this is true. Great universes have existed before and they were probably formed much as this neighborhood has been formed. Somebody tells a story and starts something small, a couple of people like it, tell others, eventually a couple of luminaries hear about it, check it out and tell their friends and the place starts filling up with high level beings of good will. Talk about fractals, our thread, our neighborhood must be a fractal of larger groups going all the way up to Ideal Universes.

"IDEAL UNIVERSES" How is that for trumping the C of $, while they build mere Ideal Orgs with quality MEST, we are building Ideal Universes with quality theta.

So, with that pearl of wisdom (not too shabby for an ex Dir of Disbursements), I thank Face for his spot on posting of late, as I also thanked Ted for his. Yes, its true I never thought of stats or being #1 when I first started this thread, just as Face has said and stats and being the top thread don't mean that much to me now. Still, hosting a thread or co-hosting a thread is a Game and like all games, one might as well have some fun participating in it. The stats are just an artificial lure to keep interest up and to have a target to shoot for. To be #1 really means nothing but an LRH comment does apply here. He stated that if you are going to do something then do it is a professional and that is all that I am trying to do. Being #1 or shooting for #1 is a sucker's game. No matter how good one does something, sooner or later someone comes around and does it better. All that is necessary is to do a job professionally and things will work out fine.

Whoa, Ted.

Spiritless Humans

F M B R - hmmmm

I belong to a little group called Foundation for Mind-Being Research. There are a number of people who worked for SRI doing investigations for the CIA into remote viewing etc and did Scientology who have been associated with this group. You can google SRI and the foundation if this topic tickles your funny bone. There is a lot of research and out of the box thinkers doing quite well without a spotlight on them.

I'll check them out - tyvm. :)

I not only have no doubts whatsoever that the paranormal exists, I question those who adamantly deny said existences. I've seen it. I've lived it. I experienced it. I had witnesses that looked at me like I was from Mars. These things really happened. I think this is one of the things that originally drew me to scientology. I took me decades to realize that there was and is little there in this realm. :confused2:

The Magic Thetan Returns
Able to Hear People Think
2nd Submission 2nd Chapter of
The Johnny Raff Chronicles - The Scientology Years
The WonderProject - Entertaining People Into a Better Life

About a month ago as of this July 2010 writing, I was invited to a birthday party at the home of a delightful Italian gal. I was told that a number of Ex-Scientologists who had left the church in the seventies and eighties would be there along with a bunch of Scientologists who had left recently.

It was a scrumptious affair, and one of the highlights of the evening occurred when one of The Old Timers recognized me and exclaimed, “It’s the Magic Thetan!” With that a wave of pure delight permeated into my being for that was the first time I heard anyone refer to me by that name in nearly thirty years.

A few weeks previous to that another Old Timer had called me out of the blue exclaiming that he owed me two hundred and fifty dollars for a seminar of mine that he had attended nearly thirty years ago and he wanted to pay me. Inviting me over to dinner I was thrilled to spend an evening with a few beautiful beings who had worked directly with Ron for many years. As we pleasured our taste buds with a number of culinary delights, we laced our spirits with all sorts of amazing stories of The Early Days of Scientology magic and misery.

Both of these events were particularly special to me, for it was the first time in thirty years that I got to spend time with people who had left the confines of organized Scientology, and gone off, as I had, into the infinite expanse of The MultiVerse to see what truths and magic it might contain. (The MultiVerse - the infinite number of universes that our imagination and our unlimited spiritual selves create.) Although these people had elected to leave the confines of organizational Scientology, they had not elected to reach out and see if there were any other ways of achieving total freedom in addition to the path that Ron had so beautifully orchestrated into existence. I, on the other hand, had elected to explore The MultiVerse from one side of to the cosmos to the other.

Ironically my first experiences with the pure magic that Ron’s applied philosophy tools could lead one to, occurred with a few Really Old Timers, people who has studied and trained with Ron back in the fifties.

It all began when I was working part time for Continental Airlines while attending full time college classes that would enable me to obtain a Space Electronics Engineer Degree that was designed to entice the rest of the world into the illusion of thinking that I really knew what I was doing.

Coffee, College & Liza

The automatic electronic eye of the conveyor belt had goofed again letting one to many bags onto the waiting platform as I screeched my bag pulling tug to a halt. I had stayed two minutes too long long in the coffee shop before re-adorning my blue sip up Continental Airlines coveralls in preparation to my return to the world of the master bag man.

I was a bit proud of the fact that The Bag Handling Scheme I had engineered into existence enabled me to replace three other bagmen and still spend nearly half of my four hour shift lounging luxuriously in the coffee shop. Apparently my predecessors were a constant source of irritation and frustration due to their inability to get all of the bags on the right flights before they lifted off into the wild blue yonder. After replacing them, I asked my boss if it was OK with him if I spend part of my shift in the coffee shop as long as I got all the bags on the right planes before they took off. He replied that he didn’t give a damn what I did as long as I got the job done. (A true and wise product, rather than time oriented, boss).

So periodically during my shift, once I had successfully lined up and targeted all the bags for delivery at just “The Right Time”, I would park my cart-toting tug at the terminal building, unzip and remove my blue Continental Airlines ground crew jumper, and bound up the steps to the coffee shop.

It was there that I met Liza.

:eyeroll::heartflower:Liza Thomas, as she was known then, was the hostess in the Continental VIP lounge. She was a beautiful, vivacious, delicious, intelligent and sensual woman, and I was a twenty five year old frustrated virgin who had never mustered up the up the courage to ask a lady if she might be willing to go on a date with a nerd like me.

In her earlier days, Liza had been one of Chicago's top fashion models. Her lovely face and fiqure would periodically grace the covers and centerfolds of magazines advertising everything from refrigerators to lingerie, the latter being of far more interest to me.

Unbeknownst to me, Liza was also an Old Time Scientologist who had developed the magical ability to really listen to, and really acknowledge, the person she was with.

Years after this introduction to the pure magic of real communication skills, a good fiend of mine related a story that illustrated what it was like to bask in the presence of someone who really knows how to listen and acknowledge.

:arose:He said that he was at a party of super stars and he was the only name at the party that you would not recognize. He related that he had the joy of meeting and talking with a number of these Hollywood legends and then he was introduced to Phyllis Diller. After speaking with her he continued to roam the party a bit absent minded, for he was amazed to discover that among this sea of phenomenally beautiful and glamorous woman, he was consumed with the feeling that Phyllis Diller was the most beautiful woman there. This feeling dumbfounded him, for he simultaneously was assaulted with the realization that physically Phyllis was anything but the most beautiful woman at the party. However, despite the ongoing assault of his senses and brain that continue to assert that Phyllis’s physical beauty did not exist, he continued to feel that she was the most beautiful woman at the party, and felt compelled to tell her.

So he went back up to her to inform her of his perplexing feeling that she was the most beautiful person there. He said that she was just as gracious and wonderful as she had been at their first meeting. She smiled and thanked him for his consideration of her beauty, and she then informed him that when she was with someone, she did everything in her power to treat them as if they were the only person in the universe, while she also worked to genuinely feel that everything they had to say was of infinite value. It reminded me of the Ron’s Manners Bulletin where he stated that the first and most vital characteristic of good manners was the ability to genuinely value the person in front of you and to value everything they had to say.

:winner:Following that Phyllis Diller story, I created a Phyllis Diller Award for the staff and clients of my Seminar Magic company. It was a reward designed to be an acknowledgment of their demonstrated ability and willingness to treat everyone they met as if they were the personification of everything valuable in the universe. As a result of sharing my newly created award with Phyllis Diller, we became good friends.

Well that was the kind of skill Liza personified as I sought to impress her nightly with my exploits and knowledge while we ingested vast amounts of caffeine in the Continental coffee shop.

Before long she was inviting me over to her apartment at the end of our respective shifts, an invitation that continually energized my imaginings that my long endured absence of real carnal knowledge might be nearing an end.

:aliengreeting:“A Stranger in a Strange Land"

On one particular evening, as I plied Liza with the best side of me that I could conjure into existence, she presented me with a copy of “A Stranger in a Strange Land“, Robert Heinlein’s classing Hugo Award winning science fiction novel.

Years later I would learn that Ron and Heinlein had been roommates, but at this juncture, I didn’t even know that Hubbard existed.

In the book Heinlein tells the story of Valentine Michael Smith, a child that accompanied the first expedition to the planet Mars. Orphaned after the entire crew died, Mike was subsequently raised by the Martian elders, beings who had mastered the ability to fully control their minds, bodies and a significant part of their physical reality. (i.e. - Pre Scientology OT’s)

:spacecraft:Some twenty years later, a second expedition lands on the red planet, and when they leave, they take Mike “home” to the planet Earth.

Once he reaches Earth, a series of grand adventures ensue after a beautiful nurse rescues Mike from the clutches of a government bent on using The Man from Mars for their own evil purposes.

As I feel there is a rather interesting parallel to my subsequent adventures, and the super human OT experiences that I later experienced in and out of Scientology, I will now plagiarize a description of the book’s plot from the internet site WikipediA.

“Since Smith is unaccustomed to the atmosphere and gravity of Earth, he is confined at Bethesda Naval Hospital. Having never seen a human female, Smith is attended by male staff only. Seeing this restriction as a challenge, Nurse Gillian Boardman eludes guards to see Smith and in doing so inadvertently becomes his first female "water brother" by sharing a glass of water with him. To him, this is a holy relationship based on the customs of arid Mars.

:surprise1:Gillian tells reporter Ben Caxton about her encounter with Smith, and they, together with Jubal Harshaw, a famous author who writes under several names, try to counteract the government's lies about Smith. Gillian persuades Smith to leave the hospital with her, but they only get as far as Ben's apartment before agents attempt to kidnap them. Smith causes the agents to disappear, and he is so shocked by Gillian's terrified reaction that he enters what seems to be a catatonic state.

Smith continues to demonstrate psychic abilities and superhuman intelligence coupled with a childlike naïveté. When Jubal tries to explain religion to him, Smith understands the concept of God only as "one who groks", which includes every living person, plant, and animal. This leads him to express the Martian concept of the oneness of life as the phrase "Thou art God". Many other human concepts—such as war, clothing, and jealousy—are strange to him, while the idea of an afterlife is something he takes as a given because the government on Mars is composed of "Old Ones", the spirits of Martians who have died.

Eventually Harshaw brokers a deal which includes freedom for Smith and recognition that human law, which would have granted ownership of Mars to Smith, has no applicability to a planet already inhabited by intelligent aliens.

:itstrue:Now free to travel, Smith becomes a celebrity, and is feted by elite of Earth. He investigates the Fosterite Church of the New Revelation, a populist church where sex, gambling, drinking and other earthly pleasures are not considered sinful but encouraged, even within the church building. The church is organized in a complexity of initiatory levels; an outer circle, open to the public; a middle circle of ordinary members who support the church financially; and an inner circle of the "eternally saved" — attractive, highly sexed men and women, who serve as clergy and recruit new members. :angry:The Church owns many politicians and takes violent action against those who oppose it. Smith also has a brief career as a magician in a carnival where he and Jill share water with the tattooed lady in the show, an "eternally saved" Fosterite woman named Patricia. Eventually Smith starts a Martian-influenced "Church of All Worlds," which teaches its members how to rise above suffering.

Smith's church combines elements of the Fosterite cult (especially the sexual aspects) with mystery religions initiation. Members learn the Martian language and acquire psychic abilities. :angry:The church is eventually besieged by Fosterites for practicing "blasphemy" and the church building is destroyed. However, Smith and his followers teleport to safety. Smith is arrested by the police but he escapes by disintegrating the prison walls and he returns to the hotel where his followers are staying. Smith explains to Jubal that his gigantic fortune has been bequeathed to the Church. With it and their paranormal abilities, Church members will be able to take over the world and reshape human societies and cultures. Smith leaves the hotel to confront the crowd, instead of performing large miracles he simply tries to talk to the mob, but they attack and brutally kill him, while he does not try to heal himself.

:):byefly:The book ends with Jubal and some of the Church members returning to Jubal's home, while Smith is promoted to another plane of existence."

In reading this WikipediA internet summary, one can easily see quite a few similarities between Heinlein’s story, and what later became Scientology, and the Church of Scientology.

It is a fact that L Ron Hubbard was quite a successful science fiction writer himself during the days when he and Heinlein were friends. However, I am not in any way implying, as others have done, that Scientology was simply the wild imaginings of a former Science Fiction writer, for I personally experienced it to be much more than that. It is true that the subject paralleled the wild and amazing happenings portrayed in Science Fiction and fantasy novels, but it also gave rise to amazing happenings that were very real for those of us who experienced them.

Nevertheless one can see a number of things in the story that bare a strong resemblance to the subject of Scientology.

The Valentine Michael Smith of the story was very OT. In many ways he was fulfilling the promise that Christ had given to his apostles as he performed miracles with the greatest of ease. “These things yee shall do and greater things” he said to them, and the Valentine Michael Smith of Heinlein’s story certainly did these things. Christ also told us over and over that it is done unto us as we believe. Well after the Martian elders got through with him Michael was a real believer. Those Martian elders believed that they were fundamentally spiritual beings who were capable of just about anything. Subsequently in the story, The Man from Mars was blessed with the ability to effortlessly perform numerous reality transforming miracles at The Speed of Thought.

:arose:People who share water with Michael became a totally dedicated team that is tenaciously focused on the objective of freeing themselves from all suffering, They continually seek to Grok with life, to understand it to a depth far beyond a humanoid level. They form a “Church of All Worlds” that is focused on the task of clearing the insanities of mankind so that we can all live in peace, harmony and ongoing ecstasy for as long as we like. They believe in the afterlife and they work through many levels of growth, that get them into a condition were they are truly able to enjoy the pleasures of this life and the joys of the after-life when it occurs.

:melodramatic:Members of Mike’s church learn a specialize language that enables them to understand things that human languages do not encompass. Thus, like Hubbard in his Scientology years, they developed a terminology for things that the language does not have words for. The members of Mike’s church adhered faithfully to the belief that “Thou Art God“, which is another way of saying you are really OT.

It is interesting to note that the true Second Coming of Christ is reported to be the realization that each of us is The Christ, each of us is a spiritual consciousness that finally accepts Christ’s invitation to perform miracles like he did. This is not a concept that aberrated members of the Catholic church like, for it implies that they loose control of the masses. However, it is a concept that sane and wise members, such as some of the Jesuit philosophers, love, for it opens wide the gates of heaven.

Mike’s church and its members come under attack by government officials and others who are terrified of people who might be developing psychic and OT abilities. God forbid that some people develop the ability to clearly see the evil domination, control and suppressive intent of those indoctrinated into the philosophy of The Divine Right of Kings that makes it their right and duty to control everybody else. More about that later.

:party:Just as a bit of humorous side note. When I first typed Divine Right of Kings, I mistakenly typed is as The Divine Right of Kids. Maybe it wasn’t a mistake after all. Maybe the real freedom lies in the full realization that we all have The Divine Right of Kids.

:happydance:I personally became completely enthralled with the story of The OT Man from Mars for it directly paralleled my lifetime desire to somehow develop the ability to do real magic. Sitting nightly at Liza’s side I excitedly discussed with her the possibly of doing this kind of magic. Little did I know at the time what she had in mind for me.

:runaway:Although I could not articulate it at the time, I had developed, in the small town of Bristol Connecticut where I grew up, a strong intention to learn all about the nature of science and life, so that I might one day develop the ability to get a magic carpet off the ground. I figured that if I could do that, I would certainly be able to pick up beautiful woman and fly them into the past for an exciting dinner at The Hanging Garden’s of Babylon.

To date I have not pulled that off, but I have pulled off some things that are just as fantastic, and as we continue, I will share how these things occurred.

Much of the magic-desiring ability of my youth sprang out of my periodical journeys into the three movie palaces of my home town. There, tucked into an obscure part of the balcony that keep me hidden from friends who would ridicule me for daring to attend such “childish movies”, I basked in the glory of a fairy godmother who could materialize anything she desired with a Bibbidi Bobbidi-Boo. Equally enthralling were, the Superman and Flash Gordon cliff hanger Saturday afternoon serials at the Carberry theater, the astounding adventures of Sinbad, a fellow who did get his carpet off the ground, and the many films that offered the promise that one might actually be able to become a super hero.

So my nightly evenings in Lisa’s apartment discussing the nature of Groking the true power and nature of our being, became intensely exciting. Little did I know that they were a precursor to the magic I would shortly experience.

The term Grok in Heinlein’s novel referred to a level of understanding that neither Liza nor I could begin to understand. Many years later I would be blessed with a personal experience of this transcendent level of understanding. The experience would subsequently lead me to my first attempt to create a Quantum Physics Doctorate paper that I entitled “Information by Permeation”. After that, and after a few more amazing experiences, I would set to work on a real doctorate paper that I entitled “Including Consciousness in Our General Theory of Physics.” As I continue I will share the details of my phenomenal Groking experience. However, for now I need to get back to the story at hand, for it concludes with the Advance Human Ability OT experience that immediately followed my adventures with Liza.

:flirt::flowers:“I don’t have affairs with women”, Romeo exclaimed in a relatively new movie version of the infamous persons life. “I make love to women“, he sensually replied, thus confirming in the mind of the swooning woman that he really did Grok what it was all about.

Sharing the magic of Heinlein’s magnificent story night after night with Liza was magic. Hour by hour my affinity for her increased, and hour by hour I imagined that the same things were happening for her. Based on the magnificent feelings that my mental mock-ups were conjuring into existence, I felt that I was on the threshold of experiencing what Romeo had experienced so many times.

Then just as the feelings reached a climax, and I felt myself enmeshed in a delicious anticipation of what was to come, Liza informed me that her boyfriend was going to be conducting A Love, Sex and Marriage Seminar over the weekend, and she wondered if I would like to attend.

“Her Boyfriend!!!”

My mind whirled at the thought. Instantly I felt like I had been thrown out of a plane at twenty thousand feet. Rapidly I plummet off the summit of the grand illusions that I had appointed myself to.

“It isn’t the fall that kills you”, I could hear a part of me saying, “It’s the sudden stop”.

With a thud I slammed into my disappointment. At that juncture in my spiritual and social evolution I was not even afforded the comfort of knowing that I was the one who had appointed myself to a reality that did not harmonize with the one Liza had appointed herself to.

Struggling to recover, I sought to find something of value in the sea of value that had suddenly vanished from my consciousness.

:arose:“A Love, SEX and Marriage Seminar”. I thought. “At least it has something to do with the object of my desires. It might be exciting. Liza would be there, and who knows, I might even get an opportunity to best this Boyfriend”.

So it was that on the 1st and 2nd of May 1965, I arrived at a seminar that was destined to change my life forever.

The seminar took place in the San Fernando Valley apartment of Lou and Judy Jordan. Unbeknownst to me at the time, Louie was a real Old Timer, someone who had studied directly with Ron in the early fifties when Scientology was teetering on the pinnacle of pure magic.

Louie and Jerry Hedean (Lisa’s “Boyfriend“) would be the two primary people delivering the seminar.

It was here at this event that I also met the great Doctor Harold Thibodeaux, the wondrous, story telling, humorist, chiropractor and old time Scientologist, that was to become one of my closest and dearest friends.

The life magic material delivered at the event, especially the parts delivered by Louie, the very heavy set grade school teacher-philosopher, was wondrous.

“Sex Across the Tone Scale” and “Love Up the Dynamics” took us from emotional death on the subject, to the highest realms, where pure spirits blended together into the unimaginable bliss of being one with each other in a state of perfect unconditional love.

On the way, we passed through every conceivable personal and social interaction known, and unknown, to man. This included, unconscious celibacy, conscious celibacy, compulsive monogamy, promiscuousness, non-compulsive conscious monogamy, polygamy, polyandry, and a few spiritual states that there were no adequate words to describe. The work was brilliant. It was based on some of Ron’s discoveries, and it paralleled many of the scales and philosophical concepts he had organized and corralled into existence. But the pure genius of Lou’s looks into the diverse nature of Love, Sex and Marriage were, to a great degree his own research and creations.

In their brilliant and often humorous story telling dissertations, Lou and Jerry (Yah, Liza’s boyfriend was brilliant to, although I didn’t want to admit it at the time) explored the nature of love, affinity, sex and the social and organizational marriage contracts that allowed two people to live together with little or no harassment from the culture.

In one part of his presentation, Lou pointed out that a reviewer’s comments on the back cover of Robert Heinlein’s “A Stranger in a Strange Land“, novel, said that Heinlein was promoting promiscuity in his award winning Sci-Fi novel. “Nothing could be farther from the truth“, Louie exclaimed, “Heinlein was exalting the virtues of true polygamy, not the indiscriminate, irresponsible sexual behavior that is the hallmark of a promiscuous person.”

Polygamy is the custom of having more than one spouse at the same time. Unlike polyandry, the practice of having multiple husbands and one wife, or the practice of one man having multiple wives, polygamy could be any combination of husbands and wives. Historically most attempts to create these sorts of marriages has ended in a disaster of one sort or another. Either the parties are two aberrated to fully eliminate the practice of negatively judging one another, or they are attacked and destroyed by groups who refuse to accept or tolerate the idea that a group of beings could be sane enough to maintain a state of unconditional love despite any provocation to do otherwise. Jealousy, which Ron defined as a fear of hidden communications, makes a polygamous relationship, or any other relationship for that matter, virtually impossible.

According to Louie, Heinlein was talking about a state where people had genuinely arrived at a non-judgmental state of sanity so profound that they could now live together in a perpetual state of unconditional love.

Although I could see the theoretical possibility that one could successfully love and live in a polygamous relationship without ever creating the negative judgments that destroy them, it would be some time before I discovered the few “Human Aliens” on this planet, and the many aliens elsewhere, who had successfully pulled it off.

During the event I had all sorts of things to say and I had all sorts of questions to ask. I also did my best to impress Liza and Her Boyfriend with my egoic brilliance.

As the seminar continued, I got more and more blown out. In fact I began to feel grander than I ever had before.

:love11:However, the real highlight of the event occurred on the second day, when Lou’s beautiful young wife sat across from me in a chair as she prepared to run a process on me that Lou had orchestrated into existence. At the time I didn’t know that there were people who considered that it was a very bad thing for anyone to create a process in Scientology. That privilege it seems was relegated to L Ron Hubbard and to L Ron Hubbard alone. However, at the time I was also not aware that in the early days of Scientology, Ron himself encouraged The Really Old Timers like Louie to create processes out of their understandings of the basic principles and intent behind them. However, despite the fact that it was at that time considered to be a very OK thing to do, in later years Lou would find himself under attack by unethical Ethics Officers and officials in the Church who decided to declare him to be a Suppressive Person for having created what these self-centered, self-important and self-appointed, untrained know-it-alls deemed to be a version of Ron’s Power Processes.

However, be that as it may, the processes that Lou created for his May 1965 Love, Sex and Marriage seminar, were about to catapult me into a magnificent state of consciousness that I didn’t even know was possible.

Fixing me with a firm, yet gentle and loving look, Judy got my full attention and then she proceeded to ask, “What present sexual conditions are not wanted?”

Immediately blood rushed at the speed of thought into may face and other not so prominent parts of my anatomy. The extent and magnitude of the emotion that flooded through me was astounding. Along with my rushing blood and my intense emotions, there appeared the thought that I could not possible tell this beautiful young woman what wanted sexual conditions were not present in my life.

As Judy waited patiently, alertly and peacefully for me to the answer the question, I struggled with my reluctance to answer, and my mental mock-ups of the rejection and ridicule that I figured I would be assaulted with if I dared to honestly answer the question.

Then I decided what the hell and I just blurted out my answer.

“I'm a virgin. I have never had any sex and that condition is most unwanted?”, I replied.

“OK“, Judy acknowledged, as she promptly proceeded to the next question.

“OK!”, I said to myself. “It’s not OK”, but before I could muster up the courage to verbalize my complaint, Judy asked me the next question.

“What wanted sexual conditions are not present?”

Well my answer to that question was pretty much the same as the first.

The we proceeded to go down the time track

What unwanted sexual conditions were present 5 years ago, ten years ago, fifteen years ago, twenty years ago? And What wanted sexual conditions were not present 5 years ago, ten years ago, fifteen years ago, twenty years ago? When we got to twenty five years ago, I ran out of time as far as this life was concerned, and we ended off with me in a state so glorious and so magnificent, I had no words to describe it.

Back to Coffee & The Job

Unfortunately, or very fortunately as it turned out, I had to work that Sunday night. So when the seminar came to an end in the late afternoon, I asked a few final questions and then I reluctantly dashed away from my new found wondrous friends, and shortly thereafter I arrived at my bag manipulating job at LAX airport.

:happydance:I was excited, really excited. And I couldn’t wait to get together with Liza so that we could further explore the many wondrous things that had occurred in the seminar.

I rapidly lined up all the bags for the upcoming flights and then I dashed off to the coffee shop to meet Liza.

You know it’s really horrible when you are super exited about something and you desperately want to share it with someone who can really grasp what you are all about only to discover that that person won’t show up.

As I sat impatiently waiting for Liz to appear so I could channel my super level of excitement into someone other than myself, I decided that I would run on myself a version of the process that had blown me totally out of my mind.

So I proceeded to do just that.

:confused2:Again, I did not know at the time that it was not considered kosher to create your own versions of processes and then run them on yourself in a coffee shop.

Years later I would hear Ron say that sometimes one can get some considerable gains from a thing he called “Coffee Shop Auditing“. However, he was not referring to what I was about to do as I sat in the Continental Airlines terminal coffee shop.

What I decided to do was to see just how far I could go back in time. The Wanted and unwanted sexual conditions process that Judy had run me on in the seminar had taken me back to a very early age, but I was about to discover things even earlier than that.

As I descended down my own personal memory lane, I was surprised to discover that, the very keyed out state I was in, enabled me to contact with amazing clarity incidents when I was five years old, then three year old, then two years old, then one, then six months and then it happened.

I popped into my mothers womb with a degree of clarity greater than I had ever known before. I could feel my presence in my mothers womb, and the feeling of being present there was more vivid than any sense of presence I had experienced anywhere.

I was there but a few moments, and then I popped back into the Continental Airlines coffee shop with a thud.

I was both terrified and excited about this experience. I wondered if Ron Hubbard knew that such things were possible and I vowed to tell him all about it if he didn’t

Decades later I would learn from a very spiritually advanced alien friend that fear and excitement were fundamentally the same energy. When the energy is considered to be negative, we experience it as fear, and when we consider it to be positive, we experience it as excitement.

Well if I was blown out of my gourd before, I was now blow out to a degree that was ten times more intense.

Again, I longed to share these magical occurrences with Liza, but still she had not appeared.

So I got up, left the coffee shop, wondered out into the airline terminal and focused my attention on one of the passengers who was waiting for a flight.

It was then that I experienced my first taste of what it was like to have the powers of a God, for as I looked at the passenger, I discovered that I could hear them think. I could hear them think out loud as if they were speaking out loud.

I almost could not have the experience I was having. It was too amazing to be real, and yet it was happening.

I looked closely to confirm that the persons lips were not moving, and sure enough, they were not.

Then I looked at another person, and I could hear them think. I could hear them as if they were speaking out loud which they were not.

Every person I looked at, I could hear their thoughts.

It happened just that one night, on the evening of the 2nd of May 1965, and to date it has not occurred again.

But it did occur, and it was a precursor to the many other magical experiences that were to follow.
