Generally, the Ozzies and Kiwis certainly are....... Many won't openly admit it, but when challenged with the question, they do admit that they'd be crapping themselves if the US didn't do its thing and left us on our own. :)

Love the lyrics on your sig line, Carmel.

Although it appears that I have succeeded in killing the “LRH Thumbnail Sketch” thread I will also post this there, as I that was where I started this task. I apologize in advance for the length of this post...I just could say what I'm wantin' to say in fewer words. Face:)

“I believe much trouble and blood would be saved if we opened our hearts more. It does not require many words to speak the truth. We do not want churches because they will teach us to quarrel about God, as the Catholics and Protestants do. We do not want that. We may quarrel with men about things on earth, but we never quarrel about the Great Spirit. The white man has more words to tell you how they look to Him, but it does not require many words to seek the truth. I am not a child, I think for myself. No man can think for me. It does not require many words to speak the truth.” Thunder Rolling in the Mountains (Chief Joseph the Younger) Wallowa Band, Nez Perce Tribe

"Religions are different roads converging on the same point. What does it matter that we take different roads so long as we reach the same goal? I believe that all religions of the world are true more or less. I say 'more or less' because I believe that everything the human hand touches, by reason of the very fact that human beings are imperfect, becomes imperfect. I may be a despicable person, but when Truth speaks through me I am invincible. What is Truth? A difficult question; but I have solved it for myself by saying that it is what the 'voice within' tells you." Mahatma Gandhi

My Sister’s visit with my Father and Stepmother didn’t turn out well. She apparently didn’t get an “offer” like I had but, since she was a few weeks away from being age 21. I supposed that was because there wasn’t as much “skin in the game” for the happy newlyweds. After her week at the mansion she just got fed up with all the vitriol. It would be 20 years later before I told my Brothers and Sister about my “offer”…I just didn’t want to add to their hurting at that time. My revelation to them then stimulated a deeper conversation, with revelations that were most therapeutic to us all. My parents spent the rest of their lives hating, blaming and vilifying each other at every opportunity they could manufacture.

During the last semester of my Senior year I continued to “drift”—inwardly detached, outwardly putting up a good “front”. I was selected to be the town’s Honorary Mayor for “Young Leaders Week”, was the Homecoming Queen’s date for the Prom, made it to the State Forensics Tournament Finals (3rd Place, All Around) and was voted “Best All Around” of my Senior Class. As usual, my parents were unable to attend. I finished my last semester with 2 A’s, 2 B’s, 2 C’s and a D+ that actually turned out helping me more than an “A”.

Just after Christmas Break I started receiving letters from Colleges, including the five schools that had scouts at the “Big Game”. All 5 were interested in considering me as a Scholarship prospect but they needed a clean “Bill of Health” before proceeding with applications and consideration. I told Coach about the letters and what the Doctors had told me just before Christmas and he choked up. “You’re a winner, son,” he said, “I know it’s hard to see this now but sometimes things work out for the best and we just don’t know it at time. I’m real proud of you, Face, and I know you are gonna do great things with your life. There’s not an ounce of ‘quit’ in you, son. Anything I can ever do for you, you just let me know…you hear me?”

I never answered any of the letters. At the time, I wasn’t sure whether or not Coach was right about “not an ounce of quit”. I hadn’t consciously “quit” but I was unsure, uncertain as to where I was going, what I was doing, what I wanted, what was my next step. Yes, I was going to go to college, one way or another but the “Jock”, “Student/Athlete” identity, and all the accoutrements thereto had become so comfortable, so “step by step” that I was ill prepared to formulate a plan or consider a design for my life other than, “Be determined, stay determined, always give your best, never quit, consistently perform and ‘it’ will all ‘magically’ happen.”

I briefly considered joining the Air Force, doing my four years and then going to college on the GI Bill but decided I really wanted to have the taste of “Freedom” at this point in my life, which shortly proved to be a moot point anyway. When I turned 18 my local draft board classified me as 4F due to “Accute Post Concussive Syndrome”.

During one of my library sojourns I checked out the “Journals of Lewis and Clark” and that led to a sidebar study of the Nez Perce Tribe and to the life, words and thoughts of Chief's Joseph the Elder and Younger, and Smohalla and the “Dreamers” . For some reason, I was profoundly moved by the story of the Nez Perce, the Joseph’s, Smohalla and the Dreamers and when I had finished reading everything in the library about them I was, oddly, taken by an urge to read everything about Gandhi. Gandhi and Chief Joseph, the Younger “fit” together like hand and glove and their stories and words spoke to me, disturbed me. “Where is all ‘This’ going?” “Where am I going and why?” On and on and on.

As the School Year drew to a close I became more and more confused, drifting. More than ever I felt as though I was living in different realities. One was the reality of school, work, friends and the trappings of physical existence. Another was the growing reality of thought, meaning, spirit and finding the “Truth”; my “truth”. And then there was the reality that I was on my own and somehow out of place.

On the physical plane I was a young adult and “going places”, somewhat accomplished and certainly “on my way” in the world. On the thought plane I was an infant and needy, uncertain, clumsy and driven more by instinct than understanding. On the personal plane I was deeply lonesome, unsettled and apprehensive. Up until this point in my life I had shared very little with anyone about my “secret self and ‘world’”. I tried talking lightly about some of what was going on with me to a few selected friends and they got a little “spooked”. I tried talking to a few trusted adults and they diffidently brushed off my entreaties as a “phase” most youths pass through. Seeking counseling was a non-starter for me as I had already concluded that if anyone, or any subject, knew what “This” was all about, the World and Civilization would not be in the situation it was in.

By Graduation time I had formed a loose, general and near formless plan. I was going to work two jobs for 3 or 4 months, save up some money, then “take off” and “Walk the Earth” for 5 or 6 months, see some of the places I had read about and then figure out my college and future. My Mother became very concerned that I was going to move out and exercise my right to have the child support due until I was 21 sent directly to me. She insisted was rightfully her money “to provide a home” for me. I told her, "I really don't care about the money and whose it 'fairly' is, I am 18, I am about to graduate and I am going to make my own way in the World." I honestly didn’t want any of my parents precious money anyway…to me it was “stained” and “booby trapped” and I was, albeit blindly and naively, searching for “meaning, freedom and truth”. My “plan” began to evaporate at my Graduation as another “Ms. Angel” stepped forward in my life.

My Father had 3 sisters. 2 of them lived in our part of the state and were nearly as flaky and “Born Again” as he. His third sister was married to a Dentist and lived several states away—nearly 1,000 miles—in the suburbs of a very large city. My Aunt was so sweet, very kind and full of life and her husband was a very cool guy. Although we had not spent much time together over the years, she had always really liked me and treated me with great kindness and interest. Although my Aunt and Uncle attended church regularly they were of a very liberal denomination and “laid back” about their faith—so much so that my parents really didn’t consider them to actually be “real Christians”. My Aunt and Uncle came to visit my Father, meet their new Sister-in-Law and attend my Graduation. I was so thrilled to have them there and during their visit my Aunt, as was her way, engaged me in attentive, sincere and open conversations about my plans, my hopes, my dreams and my life.

During one of our conversations my Aunt asked me what my GPA was (darn good) and what my SAT was (very darn good). “Well Face,” She said, “have you considered ‘Ivy Halls University'? I think it might, just might, be the right place for you.” (This is a “plug” name in deference to my wish for anonymity). Ivy Halls was where my Aunt and Uncle had met, where their oldest son had gone on a Football Scholarship and was now in the PhD program at a top tier University. It was a very fine private University, founded over 80 years ago (at that time) by their denomination. Over the years it had become more secular and most of the students were not of the denomination or “Christians”. It was also very expensive but when I told her that I couldn’t afford it, she said that if Ivy Halls wanted me, which she felt they would, the school would find a way for me to go there.

In a few months I would be living in the middle of more humanity, asphalt and noise than I ever imagined and, as I would soon "discover", 30 minutes away from an “Org”.

Face:)

really good reading.

My great grandmother was adopted by a Winnebago chief with a similar name - Chief Whirling Thunder. This was in Iowa in the 1840s.

I had gotten involved with the Co$ before I finished high school in April of 1968. I looked at colleges, and what I saw, I didn't like. UC had huge lecture halls with hundreds of students and one boring professor, tons of drugs that were more escapist and stupid drunk than the mind expanding variety. And by in large, I wasn't very impressed with college students ability to think and act.

Having got myself into Scientology, in hindsight, I'm not impressed with my own ability to think and act at that time either.

Excerpt from "Child of the Sun," my great grandmother's life

Spring had deepened into summer. My father’s corn, a forest of rustling green, laden with tasseled green ears, was far above his head. His wheat grew golden in the sun. Hay for the stock was stored in the barn. The day was warm; all was calm and quiet. I sat on the great stone at the door with Polly, my black cat, at my side, when there appeared a party of Indians, men, women and children, mounted on fine ponies. We were surprised; they were not. Nothing ever surprises an Indian. They took possession of the hill in front and began to unpack their ponies, build their campfires and cook their venison. The children played in the grass, and I joined in the sport. I did not understand their tongue nor they mine, but a smile is the same in all languages. The game was not a difficult one; they found me their equal in all we undertook. My freedom from all fear won the hearts of old and young. On account of my golden hair at which they seemed to marvel, they gave me for a name, Na-so-rah-sooch, which I afterwards understood to mean “Child of the Sun.” The friendships formed at Whirling Thunder’s camp lasted for several years of my life.

The men of the Winnebago Nation were usually tall and well formed; their women, many of them, models of grace and beauty. I wandered at will among their lodges, watching them at their different employments. The women were never idle. They dressed the skins of the wild animals their braves brought home, curing the flesh for winter use by cutting it in strips and exposing it to the heat of the sun without salt. They wove baskets of wild grasses from the prairie or of rushes from the stream. They made, for themselves, tunics, soft, thick, and white, of fawnskins, and moccasins, gay with beads, of buckskins. They embroidered their blankets in many colors. Bearskins, they used for mats in their lodges.

Whirling Thunder’s lodge was a large one, handsomely decorated. One picture represented a flying enemy with Whirling Thunder in hot pursuit; another, a stag pierced by an arrow, with head and antlers high in the air as he sank on his knees to rise no more. The pictures, or picture-writing, excited my curiosity. If the outside was so grand, what must the inside be? I went boldly in and viewed the scene.

Two women occupied the lodge. One was tall, dark, and sad, her eyes as black as a starless night. She moved slowly, with grace and dignity, and with an air of utter hopelessness. She did not smile upon me or caress my curls or heed me in any way, but silently continued her work. In another part of the lodge, reclining on a pantherskin, was a young woman. She was beautifully attired in a fringed fawnskin tunic; her neck and breast were bound with ornaments of beads and shells, and a large silver brooch confined her tunic at the neck. Her shapely limbs and delicate feet were covered by leggings and moccasins of buckskin. Her long black hair hung down her back and was decorated with feathers. At her feet sat a smiling infant, naked and beautiful as a Cupid.

It was while we were living in Illinois that my brother had died when only two years old. We put away his little garments and our grief was bitter and hard to bear. Through all my life I had never known the love of a brother or sister. When I saw the Indian baby, I ran forward with a cry of childish delight and clasped him in my arms; I pressed him to me, showering kisses and tears upon him in remembrance of my little brother. The tall form of Whirling Thunder darkened the door of his lodge. He stood with arms folded upon his breast and gazed upon us. The tall dark woman scowled. The mother of the little chieftain smiled. I cared not for any of them; I held him in my arms, and all of his struggles to free himself from my embrace were in vain. A smile stole over the chieftain’s face. He advanced to the dark-browed woman and spoke to her earnestly.

Then he raised me up, placed my hand in hers, and led us to the door, followed by the young woman with the child in her arms. Outside the lodge he beckoned a young Indian to his side and delivered a message to him. The young brave sped away swift as the wind. Whirling Thunder’s tribe soon stood around us, and in respectful silence they heard his speech, which was most earnestly and solemnly delivered.

Then the women and maidens of the tribe came forward; each one presented me with some treasure. The young braves formed a circle and a solemn dance commenced, all of them extending their war clubs above my head and then laying them respectfully at the chieftain’s feet in token of submission to his will. I was then led away by Yoc-si-ca, the dark-browed woman. How changed her countenance! A star shone through the night of her eyes; a flush was on her cheeks. She stood proudly before her reconciled chieftain. She was no longer childless. She would no longer be a servant for her young and fairer rival, Ma-ha-la, for I, although I did not know it at the time, was the adopted daughter of the old chief and his first wife.

I was a princess of Whirling Thunder’s tribe. He was the most honored chieftain of the Winnebago Nation. The softest raiment and neatest of moccasins were mine, and a charm, a circle of polished bears’ claws, was placed around my neck. I was made to understand, by signs, that when I was at home, waking or sleeping, it must remain there, and it did for several years of my life. I played happily with my little chieftain, Eagle Eye, and to the Indians I was their princess, to be served, respected, protected, and even obeyed. All this suited me well; no happier child ever lived. The little chieftain grew fond of me, for Indian babies are like their pale-faced brothers, learning to love those who amuse and are kind to them. I began, soon, to pick up the language.

Ya. Live communication, Axiom 51 and all that implies, evident here.

I learned manners watching old Cary Grant movies on late afternoon TV. We had only 3 stations in those days coming out of NYC.

I am still a fan of '50s musicals. What a great era in Hollywood that was.

I really like Barbra Streisand, for her singing not her politics. I can separate the two. I really enjoy San Francisco, too. No, I am not gay.

The '50s and early '60s were a great time for a kid to be growing up.

I'm with you all the way.

And girls in dresses. I just love girls in dresses. But not poodle skirts so much.

Summer of '42, now there was a movie that still speaks to me.

Jennifer O'Neil in that blue and white patterned dress...:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Okay, now I think I am caught up for the time being.

I don't know what women see in boys, but I sure did like it when I was one.

Here's a (self portrait and self developed) picture, not more than a few years after I went Clear, so I was maybe 23.

picture.php

Tractor grease on my forehead. My shirt, Levis and boots all have been through a hard days' work. I had read Harry Browne (about the coming monetary crisis), and had bought $1000. face value of silver dimes, they are in front of me. This was my first house, a one bedroom with a loft that my girl friends and I remodeled. In the background is my bed. My parents bought that bed for me when I was four at Fidanque's Fine Furniture in Town and Country Village in Palo Alto (still 55 years later) across the street from Stanford U. It was maple, along with a maple night stand and bureau. 50's chic. One of my kids still has the dresser. There's a set of OEC vols on the shelves. I knew them pretty well. The table and chair visible to my left (photo right) are antiques from my grandmother that I still have. The painting over the bed is of our barn.

Cary Grant I certainly wasn't.

What did they see in me?

Am I any more sophisticated today?

BTW: the room I'm sitting in is the living room. On week nights I ran a comm course there. That became the Los Gatos center, now the Los Gatos org. I sold it before it became a mission.

Having disconnected myself from our heavily-biased, mainstream media, I find that when I look I get to see what I want to see, not what someone else has determined I should see, and when I do, I am often pleasantly surprised.

The story that follows is the kind of story you just would not see or hear of without a free internet:

"Every five years Plzen conducts the Liberation Celebration of the City of Pilsen in the Czech Republic. May 6th, 2010 marked the 65th anniversary of the liberation of Pilsen by General George Patton's 3rd Army. Hundreds of America veterans attend this celebration and are treated like rockstars! [...]"

WW ll music. Something I didn't know, followed by a very young Glenn Campbell and Bob Wills in a little known TV appearance.-all on this video

Conquering Individuation

“Case”=”Aberration”=”Downward Spiral”=That which moves a being or group toward individuation

I have always felt that the key ability in this world is the ability to see things from the other person’s point of view. In my power processing, I realized an increased ability to create, or co-create, or occupy, the same space as another, and with that, the awareness that this is a core necessity for a successful auditing session, and to succeed in live itself.

In Science of Survival, it can be seen that virtually every level of survival, as measured by every survival trait, is no less and no greater than the ARC level of the being, one’s position on the tone scale, ARC of course, being a compartmented way of expressing one’s understanding of life.

For the purposes of the point being made here, let’s focus on the “A” of ARC, Affinity. From the Tech Dictionary, “Affinity is a phenomena of space in that it expresses the willingness to occupy the same space as”……”The reverse of it would be antipathy, dislike or rejection which would be the unwillingness to occupy the same space as…”…”the ability to occupy the space of, or be like or similar to, or to express a willingness to be something”.
The opposite of affinity would then be individuation, defined in the tech dictionary as “a separation from knowingness”
Again referring to the Tech Dictionary to define our terms, “Knowingness: a capability for truth”

So then, if you want to move in the direction of truth and knowingness, then you would strive to increase your willingness, ability and action of occupying the same space as others, which, at its highest level of accomplishing, is perfect affinity, and thus perfect ARC. Perfect understanding, knowingness.

Every time one employs a “fixed idea”, an automaticity of attitude in place of being there, occupying that space of another, one is distancing oneself, which is the opposite of occupying the same space, and thus choosing to suppress one’s own knowingness, suppress truth. This is individuation.

When you assign a being a label that serves as an answer to the problem of confronting and knowing that which challenges what you have adopted as stable datums, you are making a decision to hold onto fixed ideas, and you are dramatizing individuation, and lessening (and suppression) of knowingness. Call another “crazy”, “A squirrel”, “a suppressive person”. What are you saying? “I don’t have to look, consider, experience the viewpoint of that individual”, because you have reduced them to being a symbol-and at the cost of your own level on the Know to Mystery Scale descending all the way down to “symbols”.

There is a pronounced group aspect to this aberration of individuation, and throwing out a descriptive symbol so as not to confront occupying the same space. Families can do that toward another who has a conflict with a member of the family. In the CoS, it became commonplace to degrade non=Scientologists as “wogs” (as if all non-Scientologists were inferior to all Scientologists) Some of us do this when another’s practice of auditing technology appears to challenge or disagree with our own stable datums. They must be “squirrels”. Regardless of the players, and the playing field, this game is the same, and it is the game of individuation, and it is the game of decreasing knowingness, and we know it in Scientology as the dwindling spiral.

I think that conquering individuation is pertinent to our overall success as active Scientologists. Instead of immersing oneself in the effort- counter-efforts of publicly or privately imposing a technical viewpoint on another, simply and effortlessly be the other. I think we will then find that things resolve well enough that we can work together, in support of and comradeship with each other, and enhance our overall ability and success in making things happen.

I have observed that a key principle of Scientology processing in getting the preclear to regain an ability that they have found unconfrontable is, with repetitive auditing commands, getting them to confront the ability in increasing bits and pieces, gradiently, toward the realization of the full ability. This applies here as well. The ultimate challenge in life may well be to occupy the same space as those you are finding yourself, to whatever degree, in opposition with. Thus the approach here would be to ramp up this ability by practicing occupying the same space as another at every opportunity, to the degree you find that you can, and with every success your certainty and ability will climb, with an onrush of theta for the space of your shared universes. Be willing to occupy each others viewpoint, and in accomplishing this, you cannot help but find out how much we really have in common, for that IS occupying the same viewpoint. I find that by simply and easily deciding to occupy another’s viewpoint, the ARC rises correspondingly, I begin to know what they are going to say just before they voice it, and when a conflict has been held in place, the effects align, as they should, with what one experiences on the Suppressed Person Rundown, for the mechanics involved are the same. You own the whole game, rather than one opposing viewpoint, and the other person emanates affinity toward you.

A key purpose of Scientology is “the bringing about of a better game”. I think that, if we recognize the goal of total knowingness, the goal of complete willingness, ability and action of occupying the same space, of no-track no-charge, the highest level on the State of Case scale, then we can agree to recognize that our game as Scientologists is the game of conquering individuation.

The end of case would include the end of GPM’s, or Goals Problems Masses, the deep well of counter-thoughts, emotions and efforts held in place by their own 2 opposing positions pressing against each other. These are but the result of having descended down from co-existence-occupying the same space-and co-creation, through other-creation to counter-creation- creating against each other. In terms of reversing our dwindling spiral, the route is back up and through to occupying the same viewpoint.

From Lecture 26 April 1954, General Handling of a PC:

“A preclear is as sick as he will not assume other viewpoints. And the preclear’s ARC triangle is as good as he is willing to assume other viewpoints and his freedom is as great as he does not add conditions to viewpoints.”

So there you have it, a choice for you to make in and for every situation in life, and in the direction you take in processing. You can process a being in the direction of individuation, toward removing those beingnesses impinging on his universe, in which case you process toward disability to experience other viewpoints, or you can process a being toward realization of infinite ability to occupy other viewpoints, which would be full OT.

And in your daily life, you can make the decision to impose an identification of some sort to others you encounter, and thus individuate your way down the spiral, moving further away from the state of OT, or you can decide to experience the viewpoints you encounter, and move in the direction of being OT. This is the consummate skill to aspire to in this universe, the decision to conquer individuation.

I wish each of us complete success in our path to OT.

Having the right person to talk to is more important than the process or procedure being used. Since Hubbard trusted no one, he could not sell his auditors. He had to sell process. In doing so, he was also selling His Self-Important Self even though he was not sole provider of process.

Clear and OT are scientology's unique marketing propositions, unattainable by hubbard's own standards.

Yet, there are many fine results attained on scientology processes below Clear. These along with specific auditors are very marketable.

To FoTi and also about my Massage Technique

FoTi - We have some similar tastes. I remember llying in bed around 1947, 1948 listening to the Red Skelton radio show and he was featuring the Mocking Bird Hill song on the show for several weeks when it was at the top of the charts. I just loved that song as a 7 & 8 year old.

On Tennessee Waltz, that was one of my favorites when I was 10. I did not fully understand what love was all about yet but knew enough to get the gist of the song. I just thought the melody and lyrics were so good and Patty Pages performance was beautiful. 60 years later, it still is very beautiful and touches one's soul.

On Gale Storm - I used to watch her sitcom called "My Little Margie" One reviewer wrote in 1953 that she really did not have much talent, in fact he said, "I've seen more talent in a bear catching nuts!" My brother picked up that line and for maybe 20 years he and I used it to describe someone who was not very talented. In listening to her sing that song which you posted, if you compare Patti Page's singing with Gale Storm's, there is no comparison, Gale is about as talented as a bear catching nuts in its mouth. Her acting as my little Margie was not much better than her singing. Check it out:

Gale Storm is no Lucile Ball, that's for sure!! Does any one know a talented bear who can replace her?

Ken Urquhart on my Massage Technique
On my massage technique, I ran it by Ken Urquhart and he did not fully approve, in fact he had a lot to say about incorporating altered Scientology into self created types of tech. His main beef seemed to be that since I was not fully hatted in NOTs tech and only ran the parts which were run on me as I remember them, he felt that situations could arise where I would not know enough tech to resolve them and I might cause damage to my clients. This was true of using both NOTs tech and date / locate tech as part of my massage routine.

We went back and forth on a series of posts about this stuff. Its true on using the NOTs technique, I am always worried that something will go wrong and I won't be able to handle it so I decided to stop using that. I still wanted to keep the Date / Locate which I just decided to use for the first time about 2 weeks ago. He talked me out of that one as well. I, personally, always blew the charge upon dating, locating and pointing so that is all I remember but Ken pointed out that there is much more to the technique than those 3 things. It is a large rundown with a lot of steps available to do if the pc gets in trouble. I did not even know this because I always ran it smoothly.

Here again, he convinced me to drop it from my routine for the exact same reson as for the NOTs steps.

What I am left with in my process is just 3 steps.
#1. Strong accupressure massage
#2 Towards the end, go up on the head and find points that release static electricity from off of the skull and release as much as I can.
#3 While massaging, try and pick up mental pictures from the person. Use these pictures as I see fit. They can either guide me to which accupressure points to press on or I can start a little coversation with my client, such as, "Did you fall off a ladder a couple of weeks ago?" and 2 Way Comm with him from there until he brightens up, just using a good comm cycle and good acknowledgements.

I told Ken that I am not going to give up step 3. I explained that I have been doing this technique for33 years on family and friends and have never even come close to hitting something I was not able to handle. If I give this up, then what I do is just another massage and I am not even trained or licensed in it so why would anybody pay money to get my treatments. I have to introduce something significant that the client will not get with a regular masseuse and the mind reading plus purposely going for the release of static electricity from the head will fill the bill with respect to making me much different from other massuers and masseuses. Ken did not pressure me to give up the NOTS and Date / Locate portions of my routine but in weighing everthing, I came to the conclusion on my own that it was better for me to not deal in advanced Scio tech in which I was never trained nor drilled. Too much risk of my client getting messed up.

Lakey, there always the liability of running something in while running something out. In that regard, the full NOTs procedure is not totally safe. At least with your technique you are not setting the client up with many hours of previous indoctrination.

As for Date/Locate, I have never run that process where one gets down to the minutia of a date or location. In my experience if it gets down to that something else is way off.

There is no liability in two-way communication unless your client is in a psychotic break or horrendous upset. There is no liability to having your client imagine his mental mass, perception of, leaving or blowing off in whole or in part. To suggest that the mass is another being or cluster of beings could open up a mental/perceptual can of worms.

Gale Storm! I used to watch her TV show -- seems like every day.

And those pinups... Love those pinups. Kinda makes this old boy's testosterone wake up!

:clap::clap::clap:

My Little Margie with Charles Farrell or Oh Susanna! where she was the activities director on the cruise liner Zazu Pitts and the guy who played Captain Huxley co starred. I loved them both. Oh Susanna! was on a week end night, but I don't remember when.

Week ends seemed to have the best shows - Gunsmoke, have Gun, Will Travel, Dragnet.

Generally, the Ozzies and Kiwis certainly are....... Many won't openly admit it, but when challenged with the question, they do admit that they'd be crapping themselves if the US didn't do its thing and left us on our own. :)

I had several Aussies and Kiwi customers come to my establishment. Most had an appreciation for the US. One 30yr old fellow mentioned our being an indispensable ally to them in the war and radiated at me an undeniable warmth. I thought silently 'What war was that??':confused2: I could not believe that these fellas actually retained the gratitude of what must've been their grandparents. I was touched, really.

All that TV acting in those days was horrendous.

Well, I was going to go to bed.

I used to lie in bed and listen to Red Skelton too, as well as The Green Hornet, Mr Keen, Fibber McGee and Molly, and all the rest of those really cool radio shows. I loved the radio so much more than TV. With the radio I could use my imagination. When TV came in, imagination was no longer needed because the picture was already made for you. I didn't like that. Radio was a much richer experience for me.

Good music never gets old.

Where I live in Tennessee, one has to have a license to do any kind of hands on work....it's against the law to touch anyone for any kind of bodywork without a license. I don't know if that's true in California. Last I looked one didn't need a license to do bodywork in California, unless the law has changed. You might check it out.

Unless one is trained in what's safe and what's not safe to do to a client in massage, it's best to stick with energy work. Have you read the book "Quantum Touch" by Richard Gordon? That would fit in well with what you are doing. Also Reiki would go well with what you are doing. People will come to you for help if what you do is effective....and you don't have to go to school or have a license to do energy work, as far as I know. Just do what works and gives people relief.

There is a massage therapist in Canada who got a practice going after he graduated from school by giving free massages to whoever wanted them. Within 6 weeks he had a going practice and started charging for his services.

I would say just check out the laws where you live and then go for it. From your posts here it sounds like your methods are very effective. You could build a practice and have people come to your home....no overhead. A lot of times people like it if you will come to them at their home or office. You obviously have the ability to help people, so go forth and use it.

I agree wholeheartedly. I'd rather watch a baseball game in my mind's eye than on the tele. Give me radio any day. I, too loved Amos and Andy, Fibber McGee and Molly, Dragnet, Gunsmoke, Have Gun, Will Travel, Suspense, The Shadow, Edgar and Charlie, The Lone Ranger, Jack Benny.

I love my memories of putting my feet on the wood burning cook stove in the kitchen on a Saturday night listening to Have Gun Will Travel with John Dehner and Gunsmoke with Bill Conrad long before Richard Boone and James Arness

Loved those pinup artists. At eleven yrs old the people I babysat for used to bring home these risque cocktail napkins with these Vargas gals on them. I took to copying the art and became sort of popular in the neighborhood. The kids would bring me blank 6" by 6" napkins so I could illustrate them. This was 1966. Don't know what the draw was. I was fascinated with the pinups of the 40s.
