You also didn't see much coverage of when Obama had a book thrown at his head at a rally in Philadelphia (at least not until Drudge made it hard for the US media to continue to ignore the incident)
The Brit media were all over it.

My take on Obama - Short and Sweet
When Obama announced his intention to run, my first comment was that he had no experience and therefore was not qualified to be president. The retort is that Bush had experience and look at the mess he made of things. Therefore experience is not needed to be president. Of course, that leap of logic was faulty and did not make sense.
Their are two things present in President Obama which are harbingers of a disastrous presidency.
#1. He is an EXTREME LEFTIST, holding many Marxist beliefs
#2. He has no executive experience. He never ran any type of organization. Basically, he went to expensive schools and then was a Community Planner in distressed and minority areas in Chicago.
His term in the U.S. Senate was short and very uneventful. All of 2008 was spent campaiging and not doing his senate duties. His connections with a lot of strange non main stream people such as the Reverend Jeremiah Wright were extremely suspect, attending that mad man's Church for 20 years and sending his children there for educational and religious teachings.
It was so obvious that the man is not qualified to be the President of the World's most powerful nation. It is also totally obvious that the man has a large "Service Fac" and believes that he "knows best" and must put his Marxist agenda into place in America, using his mandate in the 2008 election to justify doing what he believes in and ignoring the will of the people.
To be a two term President, he would have to do what Clinton did just prior to his second term and that is pretend to take on a more centrist political stance. He would have to work with the opposition party. Since he believes in what he is doing and feels the people don't know anything, he is plowing forward still attempting to exxecute his original mandate even though the people are no longer supporting him.
This election November 2, is going to be a debacle the likes of which the majority party has never seen before. Obama and his entire agenda are going to be soundly repudiated. Many good Democrats may go down simply by virtue of being a Democrat, even for a Republican such as me, this is not necessarily a good thing. They try and distance themselves from Obama's coat tails but don't seem able to do so. Obama will be only a one term president Most of his legislation will be undone. The Democratic party will have to regroup and stage a major reorganization. America is not yet ready for a radical far left agenda. We are not going to become a supersized version of Sweden or Norway, at least not yet. The jury is still out as to whether this will ever happen.
SUMMARY A man no matter how bright he is or how gifted a public speaker he is, major strengths of Obama's, can not go from being a Community Planner of underprivelegd minority families in Chicago directly into being the president of the United States. IT WAS OBVIOUS FROM THE START THAT THIS WAS NOT DO ABLE. We were told Palin had no business running for Vice President but she had executive experience as both a mayor and a governor of a U.S. State. Obama had never run anything, not even a Mom and Pop business. The outcome of Obama's first two years as president are predicatable but the results are actually much worse than I had expected. I did not see him clinging to failed policies as tenaciously as he is doing. I expected him to do a Clinton manuever and move more to the center. I guess one has to give him credit of sorts for at least having the conviction to stick to his original policies, as flawed as those policies may be.
Doing what Clinton did after the 1994 election, Obama could have staged a come back and had a second term and the Democrats could have retained control of the government but by his being steadfast in pursuing his initial program, he has set back his Democrat party immeasurably and has furthered the cause of the Republican party, nearly left for totally dead a scant two years ago, beyond the Repupublicans' fondest dreams.
Obama has made a difference and caused "CHANGE". The only thing is that it is exactly 180 degrees opposite to the CHANGE which he sought. His change is that he has given new life to the Republican party and spawned the creation and emergence of the Tea Party. What a legacy President Obama has spawned, returning the country more to Conservatism! What is it they say, the "best laid plans of mice and men" often go astray.

Well, I'd say that Obama, like his three predecessor presidents were bought and paid for by vested interests . . . that in addition to having a mad belief-system as a basis of beliefs of what is "right" to do.
Any president that pushes his own personal beliefs or agenda on his country is in betrayal of his oath of office . . . the Bushes, Clinton and Obama are all guilty of that.

Very good points. I couldn't agree more! Most of our presidents have been that way in recent decades. Reagan was an exception, before him, Carter was certainly of that ilk as was Nixon and Lyndon Johnson. Kennedy was his own man, perhaps Eisenhower and Truman seemed to be their own men as well.
Reagan and Kennedy were the only two in recent times who weren't paid for by vested interests. Kennedy was assassinated and Reagan had an attempted assassination. Does that tell us anything? Just asking!

The economy is not hopeless. As long as there are passionate and intelligent people around, the scene will never be hopeless.
One needs to take statistics with a grain of salt. You may know the following history of manure in the 1800's - here is a short version:
"By the late 1800s, the problem of horse pollution had reached unprecedented heights. The growth in the horse population was outstripping even the rapid rise in the number of human city dwellers. American cities were drowning in horse manure as well as other unpleasant by-products of the era’s predominant mode of transportation: urine, flies, congestion, carcasses, and traffic accidents. Widespread cruelty to horses was a form of environmental degradation as well.
The situation seemed dire. In 1894, the Times of London estimated that by 1950 every street in the city would be buried nine feet deep in horse manure. One New York prognosticator of the 1890s concluded that by 1930 the horse droppings would rise to Manhattan’s third-story windows. A public health and sanitation crisis of almost unimaginable dimensions loomed."
My point is that humans have tremendous ingenuity and their ingenuity is sharpened by adversity. "Necessity is the mother of invention."

The Dalai Lama seems to be more popular than ever. But a couple of years ago when he was spending an enormous amount of time here Oprah had him for an interview. She asked him a question and he said it was a stupid question. Oprah later had to answer another interviewer on the question of when her feelings were the most hurt by a guest. She said the Dalai Lama surprised her by his comment to her.
I have seen Oprah get gnarled at not having absolute complete control of an interview session though. It's her weak spot or should I say 'strength'.

Good thing there was no hidden agenda to rid the city of extra segments of the population. Remarkably when hidden reasons exist NOT to act on the problem at hand its because someone has something to gain. We have a lot of problems bringing us down that should be simple to fix but for some strange reason solutions are long ignored until there is a complete debacle.
