I am the Poster Boy for what the Dalai Lama is saying
Dalai Lama: "Material progress and a higher standard of living improve comfort and health but do not lead to a transformation of the mind, the only thing capable of providing lasting peace. Profound happiness, unlike fleeting pleasures, is spiritual by nature. It depends on the happiness of others, and it is based on love and tenderness."
SOME LESSONS FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF "OLD AGE"
I would have to agree 100% with what the Dalai Lama is saying above. I am living proof of this. I have my two never been in Scientology best friends in Edey and Lorinda plus I am now good friends with Candy. Then I am active in many groups which Edey has dragged me into, some of which Lorinda participates in as well. Candy has now met both these women as well as has Johnny. Basically, Edey and I are the key persons in merging the group of ex Scientologists with the group who is spiritual in nature and has had no exposure at all to Scientology.
I am giving sessions to Edey and Lorinda and many of their friends. So far, everything that has come my way, I have been pretty much able to resolve. Some of the stuff is quite major. Initially, I was hoping for merely abatement or relief but instead, I am getting stability and permanent gains.
Lorinda, in particular has been a great asset and partner with me in bettering conditions. She and I think very much alike. We have a somewhat unique form of communication with each other, talking spirit to spirit, without social veneer. We have worked together on a minor cycle and several major cycles. I helped her compose an email in answer to an email she had received which had a bit of negativity in it. I was exterior to the situation and just insisted that she rephrase two of the sentences in her email in such a manner as to promote and show support for her adversary's goals. For example, Lorinda was writing, "things would make much more sense if you drove to my house and picked me up than if I drove to your house." I just had her add. "I am very happy to hear that your organization is expanding and I want to contribute to its further expansion and support you as much as I can, I think that if you were to drive to my place and pick me up things would make more sense for both of us."
The adversary, who had previously been third partying Lorinda, wrote back that she would pick Lorinda up. That was done, the two had a great chat driving to and from the meeting together. Withholds were gotten off, affinitiy was re-established, their entire relationship was revitalized and reborn. Lorinda and I both knew that if that one measely sentence had not been reworked, the way I had suggested, none of these wonderful things would have taken place.
How much pleasure does the knowledge that by changing a few words in an email around, two adversaries cleaned up their spat and renewed their friendship better than ever bring to me? Lorinda just validated me half to death, saying I was brilliant, she loved me for who I was, that I was always there willing to help and that becomming my friend has been a major step forward in her life. The amount of pleasure it gives me to hear this leads to profound happines and lasting peace as the Dalai Lama says.
On another issue, where I was interior to (you guessed it) a 2 D problem, Lorinda was exterior to the issue. I was writing an email to a former 2D and she analyzed my email and suggested I greatly condense it from 2 pages to about 8 lines of text. I saw the brilliance of her suggestion and did so and the e mail was sent and I got a fabulous reply from the other party. Here again, no money changed hands, no sexual stimulation took place and yet a small group of people experienced great joy and satisfaction and an inner happiness and peace that simply transcends physical boundaries.
In fact, the best type of physical or MEST experience which I find that money can buy are Physical Universe experiences where art is present and human or even animal or plant life companionship is present. Take a magnificent gourmet dinner served in an aethetic setting, perhaps overlooking the ocean with a full moon, enjoying the meal with a close friend and watching the birds cavort on the shore near the restaurant. Money can buy that experience but the experience contains human and animal companionship and aesthetics. Outings to the Hollywood Bowl to hear a concert where you enjoy a picnic while watching the concert in an out of doors venue are legend in the amount of pleasure they give people and such things never go out of style but always attract each succeeding generation.
