Thanks.

I am particularly cranky at what is revealed concerning the decline of decency in the music/entertainment arena. And the tragedy is that these idiots actually think they are clever! :duh:

And not enough said about the corruption of those we elect to Washington

My hair is just as thick as it was at age 25!

Hey come on now Lakey, time to confess. That great lovely mop of hair of yours looks to me like a wig! Is that so?? If not, prove it.

Sorry Leon, the hair is real, just as thick now is it was at age 25! When I get a haircut they still have to use thinning sheers. The one thing that is fake is the dark colored streaks in the front. Ginger, over at Ginger's Gardens applied those streaks about 2 weeks ago. My hair is nearly pure white, there is a little bit of the original color left in the back down near the nape of the neck and maybe one or two percent of the strands are still black in the field of the hair. My eyebrows are still the natural color as is my chest, arm and pubic hairs. The goal of the black streaks in the hair is to just look a few years younger.

The thick mane of hair comes from my Mother's side of the family. Her Father, my Grandpa, lived from 1880 to 1964 and when he died at age 84, he still had a full and thick head of white hair just like mine. My Grandpa was a Jew born in Lodz Poland. My natural Grandma was a Fannie Pollack, born in Cincinnati, Ohio in the early 1880's - Her family, the Pollack's came to Ohio in the early 1850's. I believe they were a mix of Polish and Lithuanian Jews. All the "mispoche" from that side of the family, when I was growing up, had blue eyes and red hair, but they also had big beak type Jewish noses. This indicates a lot of interbreeding with Lithuanians in that branch of the family.

My brother, Rueben Hart, was blond hair and blue eyes as a kid and he did not even get the Jewish nose. As an adult, his hair turned dishwater blonde but his eyes remained blue. My Mom had blue eyes as did several aunts and uncles, all from that branch of the family.

My Dad's family is completely Ukranium Jews. There was not much intermarriage with the Ukranians that I can see. The women had no rights and were confined to Jewish ghettos, probably living their entire lives within a 10 mile radius in the Ukraine. The men were more mobile and spoke Russian and Yiddish while the women, including my Grandma, who lived to 106, spoke only Yiddish. The men, such as my uncle, served in the Russian Army. Being in the army with non Jews, some of the Jewish soldiers undoubtedly interbred with non Jews and the offspring were raised as Jews. My brother and I have straight noses with no Jewish type hook

PROVING THAT MY HAIR IS REAL - I gues that the next time I am together with LH and Edey, I can have LH pull on my hair real hard and then have Edey take a photo. Until I post that photo, Leon, you will just have to believe me or you could send a Personal Message to Purple Haze of Johnny The Magic Thetan who would vouch that the hair is real.

Politicians no longer close ranks and unite

On the Washington politicians, one thing I notice that is a MAJOR, MAJOR chenge is that as I was growing up, the two major political parties would fight each other very hard but after the electiions were over, the two sides would "CLOSE RANKS" and take stances for the common good, such as fighting WWII or the Korean War.

Things remained this way up to about when JFK died. At that point, the Baby Boomer generation began coming of age and people started refusing to close ranks, the first major instance of that was the Viet Nam conflict.

In the 1940's, 1950's and early 60's, the politicians were American's first and closed ranks against common foes. Nowadays, the parties fight bitterly after the elections, not really closing ranks but always trying to tear down the other party and in many instances, take positions against the United States in conflicts between the USA and other countries.

The internet and the modern news media make news available instantly to the publc and the public is more deeply involved than before BUT PROBABLY LESS WELL INFORMED THAN IT USED TO BE. Most people form their opinions from snippets of news bytes or sound bytes which they hear on the 6:00PM or 10:00PM news. The news the public receives is heavily filtered and biased. Very few public really know much about what is going on and this translates into an uninformed and and unwise body of voters. Huge sums are spent to attract voters with Madison Ave. type of jingles and slogans with almost no effort made to truly inform or educate the body of voters.

This phenomena is probably how all great countries have been brought down in the past and the effort to bring this country down is well underway here and now. The faster high speed internet and news networks are enabling the process to go faster than it has in past generations.

Thank you all for your lovely comments re the pictures.:thankyou:

Gary saw me an hour earlier in Henry's healthful food store, searching for caffeine of any type when the withdrawals suddenly hit and the blood sugar gave out. :( LOL :dizzy::mindblow::runaway::mirror::alien2:

I met Gary at the store because, as you can plainly see, my Robin Hood had left his fair lady Marian's makeup bag in the boot of his Mercedes/BMW. :wtf:[btw, my white knight in shinning amour, dearly departed Alan, seemed to prefer the Lincoln Continental over all the other cars, over all the years I knew him. :) now, THAT car was a classy ride!]:iagree:

So, I grabbed some silly tint-your-lip-naturally-stick, and made my way to the checkout line, while Gary commented out loud on the dark color my face was turning "nice tan you got there" or somesuch remark, as I clutched my wretching belly and informed him I was in the middle of the beginning of a migraine from the lack of caffeine, which I thought I could get away with...guess I'm still very sensitive after all these years. lol :confused2:

Yes Roger, Candy is EXTREMELY alive. She is a very high class spirit!!
I have a few more photos which Candy appears in although I believe the one I posted earlier is by far the best. I might as well show the others.

picture.php

Candy behind me while I open my gifts.

picture.php

Candy makes "rabbit ears or donkey ears"' sign behind me while I show a nice card I received.

picture.php

Candy offers me support but I cover up part of her face by mistake.

Lakey

those were wabbit ears, Gary. at least, that's what they're called in Hawaii Nei, where we only have big fluffy one, not the wild kind found here in LA:happydance:

It seems that people do not have adequate reference standards with which to evaluate the "news" and other sources of information.

In my grammar school, grades 1 to 7, we were taught American history, we were introduced to the opening paragraphs of the Constitution and Declaration of Independence. Recently after hearing from a teacher about the state of classrooms and studenting today, I was reminded that we had elections for class president and vice president, etc. In order to facilitate our meetings we covered Robert's Rules of Order. Today, many classes seem to be a free-for-all.

Were we ever fully informed? Probably not. Was the USA ever an ideal scene even in the beginning? Nope. There were naysayers then, too. And political muckraking and mud-slinging.

By eliminating or rewriting history, by eliminating Judeo-Christian values from public discourse, by Congressional, self-appointed elitism, by other means, much of what is good in our country is being eroded away. While I believe the country was never ideal or perfect and true to its founding documents, I also believe the best way out of this mess, a worldwide mess it is and not limited to the USofA, is to reboot the system and start over. By reboot I mean get back to basics and founding principles.

For one thing, if there were no such thing as a corporate veil, individuals would have to adjust their management methods or face personal consequences.

I could go on...

So well said Ted! You are a fine writer!! You have a knack for picking the highlights of a broad topic and saying a few words which capture or summarize the essence of the truth in that topic and where and why the outpoints exist.

You do with words what I am only trying to do with words but what my historic idol, Mozart was able to do with nusic, that being, use just as many notes (or words) as needed, neither more nor less. Check out the video clip below ("Too Many Notes"):

How does a song replete with expletives, whose very title is "F--- You," get nominated for a Grammy Award as Record of the Year?

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

The Grammy is an INDUSTRY based award, not a "cultural values" award. What governs industry in america is MONEY.

As grumpy as I am, Ted, what I have absolutely no desire to see is a return to the ubiquitous cultural imposition of morality as was commonly the case in the u.s. prior to 1960. Human moral expectations are ridiculous enough as they are without once more resorting to the sort of stifling government & community based interventions that were common a half-century back. :duh:

When you don't like what's on the channel, change it, or better yet turn it off.

Mark A. Baker
p.s. mtv is not responsible for "the decline of western values". for the most part "western values" never have been all they were "cracked up to be" to begin with. to the extent such have declined it has been turning the universities into white collar job training centers for the benefit of commercial corporations that has been responsible for the decline of western values. O tempora! O mores!

... By eliminating or rewriting history, by eliminating Judeo-Christian values from public discourse, by Congressional, self-appointed elitism, by other means, much of what is good in our country is being eroded away. While I believe the country was never ideal or perfect and true to its founding documents, ...

Frankly to my mind, not enough of the judeo-christian crap has been dumped. Additionally, it is most notably the judeo-christian crowd who are most anxious to rewrite both history & the sciences in order to sustain their own peculiar brand of beliefs as the dominant social paradigm of western civilization.

Nor was the "traditional history" that was taught in u.s. schools in the first half of the 20th century noted for its accurate adherence to the facts of history, much less the processes of u.s. cultural development. All was generously "massaged" to create a mythos acceptable to the white judeo-christian community it served.

As my own favorite conservative intellectual, William F. Buckley, Jr., stated: History is the polemic of the victor. None have been more insistent upon the "victor's right" to revise history throughout history than the judeo-christian community. :eyeroll:

Consider locating an equally grumpy female then get thyself laid. Have a few good beers. Then let's expand on the conversation.

My first question will be, "Which Judeo-Christian values do you feel need to be dumped?"

I'm a pagan and a classicist. I've found that anything reputed to be "good" that has been attributed to the judeo-christian tradition originated in pagan antiquity. The "bad" is all their own. :)

This is a bit like saying anything good Hubbard wrote was stolen from others.

Thats not the point.

If the parable of the good Samaritan was not original to Jesus he did well
by restating it in a brilliant way.

Number of times over..... and all that.
