Contemplating life on other Galaxies
Take another Galaxy such as Andromeda. Those of us here on Earth, for the most part, have virtually zero reality on what is going on there. Probably there are a few exceptions who feel otherwise.
Lets say a planet somewhere in Andromeda has life similar to that on Earth and right now, they are experiencing a drought or other natural disaster. Here on Earth, no one is taking any responsibility for their plight since it is so far away, distance wise, that we are not even aware they exist.
On the other hand, someone there could have just made a major breakthrough on curing cancer and we would not be aware of that either.
It is amazing that the interposition of vast amounts of empty space can act as a buffer between spiritual beings. Actually, it is not so much the empty space but rather the concept of "spacetime" that appears to isolate us and insulate us from these distant societies. Even traveling at light speed, the distances between Galaxies in terms of time are much too large to admit of human contact. The amount of physical universe energy required to traverse the distances plus the need for huge amounts of time both act as barriers to restrict all contact.
Of course, space and time are just constructs postulated by spiritual beings and we do have the capability to communicate directly at vast distances without using physical universe energy.
To me it appears that most of us have our hands full, trying to make something of life here on Earth to such an extent that we pay virtually zero attention to all the vast life that is taking place, at any given instant, elsewhere in our Physical Universe.
