Yes, you can also add the fact that some folks are just simply irresponsible and uncaring about their communication.

It indeed it's irresponsibility for the receiver, their fellows.

You even see it here on ESMB . . . one-liner incomplete constructs . . . no prepositions, no caps, no or erroneous punctuation, no linking transitions . . . you are left to wonder WTF are they actually saying/meaning.

Either that, or one can add that they're too bloody lazy to care . . . some obviously never re-read or proof read their posts :duh:

R

I make up my punctuation as I go along. I just can't remember where the rules were posted. Like where does a semi colon go. Can you not start a sentence with the words And and But ?:bigcry: What's the difference between .......and ______in the middle of a sentence. What's the difference between ' and " and italics? Are there rules for starting new paragraphs re the same subject matter for appearances? I mean, reading Alanzo and HH, Mark, Gottabrain, Bunny Skull, you see a lot of well constructed posts. Me, I gotta get it out when I'm on a good flow or I forget what I'm trying to say and drop the ball. I look at Facey's posts and think WOW, that was work. We are all getting older. It does get harder to worry about the little details without going brain dead in the middle of a proof read. Ted, Roger, Carmelo and Lakey, and others make such great long posts sometimes ___there's a lot to go over and 'edit'.

As long as I understand what the person is communicating I don't mind. Sometimes I find myself starting on one premise and by the end of the post realize I'm actually lobbying for the opposite somehow.

I like order. I've just never ever had enough drawers. You cannot have enough drawers and cubby holes or closets. These films where the folks get up to answer the front door and there is no clutter or toy boxes or stuff on the floor....I don't get who lives there.. There's just an oriental carpet a staircase a hall table and a vase of flowers under a mirror. Big huge foyers too. I'd fill the space up with antique chests and coat racks and ferns and mahogany umbrella stands and a newspaper rack and a doggie bed and ...

Not too late to do this!

I once visited a couple that I thought had an ideal living arrangement. They had their master bedroom with a HUGE bed to lounge and roll around in. On one side of the master bedroom was another room for him - his office with a couch, piano (they were musicians), hobbies, etc. with his own dressing room and bathroom, on the other side of the master bedroom was another room for her...her office with her own lounge, banjo, music, sewing, etc and her own dressing room and bathroom. Of course, it takes a little money to live like this, but I thought this was the most ideal arrangement I'd ever seen for two people to enjoy their lives together and not get in each other's hair.....at least in this area of their lives. Each one had a private place they could retreat to to do their own thing, take a nap, write music, be creative or whatever in peace without their spouse or kids running through the room and interrupting them.

They also had a fantastic playroom for their very small children. It was really big with a vinyl floor. All the kids toys were in this room and each child had a bed against a wall and all their clothes were kept there. They could ride their tricycles, play ball and skate all over the room when they played inside without damaging anything. They could eat in there, spill food or paints or whatever and it would be very easy to clean up. They could make all the noise they wanted day or night without disturbing their parents because their room was behind the kitchen - the kitchen, living room and a sitting room was between the couple's suite and the children's room. The couple owned several night clubs which didn't close until 2am, so they came home very late and if they wanted to play music or have guests in at that hour, it didn't disturb the children sleeping.

I thought this house was the greatest arrangement I ever saw for a young family.....it suited everyone's needs. And of course, they had help in the house for the kids and to take care of the home so that things ran very smoothly and everyone could get enough sleep and also have time to have fun with their friends and family. A nice way to live if one can afford it. :)

I remember another couple that built their own home back in the 60's specifically for having a family. It was a large house...modern...very open...and the first floor was all vinyl and all the cupboards were built with catches on them so that little ones couldn't get into them. The furniture was very plain and simple and they had no knick knacks around for the kids to break. The kids could ride their tricycles and skate all over the first floor without damaging anything or getting into trouble.

All the way around the outside of the house was a screened in cement walkway about 10 feet wide, so that the children could be outside and ride their bikes, skate and play ball or chase each other around, but still protected..... because they lived in Florida in an area where there were a lot of copperheads and they didn't want the little ones out in the yard alone where they might get bit.....and this kept snakes and other critters away from the house. They also had a lot of comfortable chairs on the walkway so that people could sit outside or eat outside without getting bit up by mosquitoes or having to mess with wasps or other bugs. It was a great house to enjoy easy living and have fun with family and friends.

I should have been an architect. :eyeroll:

FoTi, you don't have to be an architect to express those ideas. You could be a "life coach" kind of independent consultant that helps people who are contemplating home building or doing a remodel to do some visioning work to get the results they want. You could work with architects and builders to help facilitate clear communications between all parties. There is a lot of software that helps with the visuals now, and planning home decor, etc. I think people need help in this area, so many cannot picture what they want, or cannot read a blueprint, etc. Some know what they want (or do not want) but don't know how to communicate that to their builder, etc.

That's exactly right. Beginning with Dianetics where the analytical is lauded, Scientology is all head-talk, no heart. Processes are taken to the head for cognition. Imagine the difference it would make if processes were taken to the heart for EP. Even in ARCX assessment, a broken heart is "repaired" by taking it to the head to justify the ARCX or otherwise explain it away or agree with the auditor that it was no big deal. The actual source and cause of the upset does not get addressed until, maybe, later.

"Ethics are reason." Take that to the head.

The data series, this is how to "think," how to evaluate, how to program. It's all head-talk.

Service facs, domination, subjugation, more head-talk.

Compassion comes from the heart. I have to look long and hard to find it in organized scientology. Yes, you will find it in auditors, mainly ones out of the organization, but you won't find it in the organization too often. You only get heard if your stats are up or if you you have seen the registrar first.

Policy is reasonableness with the heart. The heart can be reasoned right out of existence.

I'm reposting these vids here from the 'why scientology might be real' thread. This is a lot like PEAT. A poster with a forum name of 'mastercausationalimprint' who does not capitalize or punctuate and runs on like Roger says__posted some neat vids 2 days ago. I never heard of this poster before.

I like order. These films where the folks get up to answer the front door and there is no clutter or toy boxes or stuff on the floor....I don't get who lives there...

My mother lived there....and so did some of my aunt's and uncles. My mother was a perfectionist and my father loved to remodel and decorate. My parent's house was photographed to go into some magazine when I was a kid, after my father remodeled a small two bedroom spanish style house into a 4,000 sq ft Hawaiian modern home, that ended up being too high priced for the neighborhood, and he lost money on it when he sold it. But he had fun doing it....he was very artistic and very creative. It was photographed for an architectural magazine or Better Homes and Gardens or something like that, but I don't think it actually made it into any magazine. It was a really beautiful house when my father got done remodeling and the people that bought it from my parents added on 5 bedrooms and several bathrooms upstairs. This house just kept growing. :eyeroll: Most of the time our house looked like a model home out of a magazine.... like in those films....and there weren't nothin' out of place.....except in my room and the door was normally kept closed so that nobody could see what a mess it was. My mother couldn't stand looking at it and every once in a while she would come in and clean it all up while I was at school and I'd come home and get mad at her for messing up my disorder. :dieslaughing:

It was kind of uncomfortable to live that way as a kid. I was messy and could care less about cleaning anything or putting anything away....it drove my mother into a frazzle....it was very hard for us to live in the same house. I hated the perfection and my mother hated my lack of it. We never did get along. We had a war going as far back as I can remember.

My father's brother was a well known architect and their home, which he designed was always perfect and was photographed for a magazine. They had two boys, but their house was beautiful and always immaculate... It was more comfortable to be there because of the other two kids. They ran around and played and bounced balls in the house....I don't know how they kept from breaking stuff, but they did. The whole back of the house was floor to ceiling glass...a very modern house.....and one day I went running through the living room and I thought the sliding glass door was open and I went charging out to the pool....well, it was open, but the screen was closed and I didn't see it. I left a nice imprint of my body on the screen and my uncle was pissed. I felt horrible. I messed up a house of perfection.

My father's sister was married to a set designer from Universal Studios and their home, which her husband designed, was picture perfect all the time....it also was photographed for a magazine. They had no children and no children were ever allowed to run and play in that house.....they had to sit quietly without touching anything. I remember one time my parents left me there so my aunt could babysit while my parents went somewhere. I was there for dinner. My aunt had this beautiful table all set with table cloth, dishes, glassware, silver, center piece...a picture perfect table...just like in the magazines. I was pretty small and she put me in a dining room chair and sat me on top of a couple of phone books so I could reach the table. My uncle wasn't home yet, so it was just me and my aunt. I was alone at the table and my aunt was in the kitchen getting the food. I didn't have anything to do so I had my hands under the table and I found this ring. I was fooling with it and I pulled it. It was the release for the table leaf where I was sitting. The leaf dropped in my lap, I went over backwards on the floor and the table cloth with all the dishes, glassware, silver, and centerpiece all came down on top of me in a huge clatter. I wasn't hurt. I laid there on the floor and looked over at my aunt in the kitchen. She looked at me in shock and horror. I was just as shocked and horrified as she was. I felt awful for messing up her beautiful table setting and making a mess of her house. Who would have thought I would have done something like that....it wasn't done on purpose....it was an accident. I didn't know anything about rings under table leafs releasing the leaf. I don't ever recall her babysitting for me again. I guess she had enough of my cleverness to never make that mistake again. :dieslaughing:

I didn't do too much wrong when I was a kid .... I was always trying to do the right thing..... but when I did mess up it was a good one. I'm lucky I didn't end up dead....my mother said I had a guardian angel.

All of these homes were show homes and were kept in perfect condition at all times. No one could walk into any of these homes at any time of the day or night and accuse the woman of the house of being anything except a perfect housewife with a picture perfect house.

I sometimes used to think that the house seemed more important than the people living in it.....actually I used to think that quite often and sometimes got rather upset about it.

So, yeh....there are people that live like that, Hat. Actually, there are a lot of them. All you have to do is walk through Beverly Hills and knock on the doors there and peek inside or take a tour of their houses....just about all the homes there are like that.

I'm not as messy as I used to be. I kind of outgrew it. I learned to do Order vs. Disorder in Scientology and am pretty orderly now....I'm still not too fond of cleaning, though and I just do it when I have to. I :floor::vacuum: ....mostly when someone is coming over to visit....I don't want them to think I'm a lousy housekeeper. :giggle: When I'm home alone...:whocares: Sometimes I get the urge to straighten up and throw out and get things in order, but not very often. I notice that I always feel better after I do get it all nice and clean and orderly. I like things clean and orderly but I'm just kind of lazy about it and it just doesn't seem that important. Most of the time manana is good enough for me. Maybe I'd do good south of the border...:eyeroll: Gee it would be nice to have a maid. :)

Oh, and Hat, I don't care about your punctuation as long as I can understand what you write and I don't ever have any trouble doing that.

My wife is just as untidy as I am and we get along PERFECTLY. Everything is everywhere and anywhere. We have a wardrobe in the bedroom but most things are on the floordrobe and so that's where what you need most likely is.

A tidy house is a sure sign of a sick mind.

Some know what they want (or don not want) but don't know how to communicate that to their builder, etc.

I had 3 1/2 years of interior design in college, but never completed my senior year because I got side tracked with Scientology and decided I'd rather be a Class 8 auditor. Never got there either. Sigh. But that was back in the early 70's.

It isn't that easy to get into being a consultant or interior designer in that field without a degree or a lot of experience and a portfolio, references, etc. If people are going to hire someone, they want a professional who knows what they are doing. Things are very different today with computers and such. I don't know the field anymore and would have to go back and catch up.

Where I live I worked architect coming out of college who couldn't get a job...it's heartbreaking for a person to put all that effort into getting trained only to find out there is no work for them and they have to go to work for 7 or 8 dollars an hour doing telemarketing. I don't see how I could possibly do this. I would have to go back to college to catch up which would take several years now and I'm kind of old to do that and even if I did, I don't know if I could get any work in that area. I just don't see there is that much demand for it. It's just a dream and being an architect is different than being an interior designer.

I would have liked to design houses. I was of this mindset when I was in my late teens....I used to dream of unusual houses.... but for some reason it never occured to me to go to college to become an architect. I don't know why. :confused2:

When I was around 30 and I had gone back to college for interior design. I thought about going to school for architecture, but I thought I was too old and it was too late.....I wasn't and it wasn't....but that was the way I was thinking at the time. I also thought maybe it was too hard and I wasn't up to it. I don't know if that was so because I didn't try. I only learned much later that my uncle was 40 years old when he finally got his degree as an architect, but he had been working in that area for years and he was a fantastic artist. I regretted so many times that I did not do this and that I didn't finish my degree in interior design....I probably could have done both. I only had one semester to go to complete interior design and then I could have worked in that field and gone on to get a degree in architecture, but I threw it all away with another dream of becoming an auditor.

I thought it was much more important to save the planet and free beings, than to decorate houses or offices. Very soon after I got into Scientology and tasted my first auditing and looked at the goals of Scientology, I felt guilty doing anything but Scientology. So went the way of my life. I still haven't recovered from it. Don't know that I ever will this lifetime....I'm workin' on it, though.

I think I might feel better if that cult would just die. I have nothing against people auditing in the field, I just want the monster to cease to exist and I don't mean just DM, I mean the whole rotten organization....every single corporation, org and mission and all the front groups....just gone and the truth be known to all those who are still in and to those Indies who still unwilling to look at the truth about LRH and the whole history of Scientology.

For some reason I feel supressed by their very existence on this planet. I just want them to go away. I think they are a very evil group. I used to think they were the greatest group on the planet and the only salvation for mankind. I hate being fooled like that. It's hard to come to grips with the reality of the CoS after thinking that they were so great for so long. My whole life was wrapped around Scientology for 30 years. The change is difficult. Losing the dream is difficult....so disheartening. Such a loss. But what is...is. Can't make it something it's not. Sometimes what is, is hard to have.

:soapbox:

I agree Leon, only I would say that an overly tidy house means you just have far too much time on your hands that is being wasted on perfectionistic cleaning and organizing and you need to get a life! Get out and meet some people and do something, live it up a little! :happydance:

FoTi, the same thing happened to me at my Aunt and Uncle's house when I went out to the pool though a door I thought was open, only the screen was shut. It was as if I just didn't see it or something, only I didn't bounce off and leave a body print, I went right through it! Ruined the screen and scared everybody...It was the strangest sensation, like walking into a different dimension. How embarrassing, but I was just a little girl.

Thanks for telling us those stories. I got a very clear picture of the dining room table fiasco. What a mess! I'm glad you weren't hurt!

A lot of adults just don't understand kids, or how to make kid friendly spaces.

When I was about 11 the local (Papakura) Army base held an open day.

There was a 25 pounder artillery piece on display and all us kids were allowed to play on and fiddle with it.

There were 2 handles on the underside of the breech and I pulled them outwards and turned them whilst the barrel was inclined upwards.

Then the f**ken thing started to slide downhill at me (all the barrel and gun bit). I panicked and pushed it back and tried to hold it up. I shouted out the other kids around me - "quick turn these handles back!", but they all pissed off leaving me with it. Bastards. And it was getting heavier by the second....

It wasn't long before an army sargeant spotted what was going on and bolted over and grabbed the whole deal off me and took over. My fricking hero and thanks, mate. Now I f**ked off and quick before I got my arse kicked. The 2 levers I turned were the gun release from the carriage and the bastard weighed 20 tons (to my mind).

Obviously, this dude got it sorted and when I snuck back ages later, the 2 handles had been wired together to stop anyone else fiddling with it.

I needed to, but still hadn't changed my undies by then.

So FoTi, I understand EXACTLY what you were going through at that moment as well....

It was very serious at the moment it happened because I was pretty small and I knew I'd done something I wasn't supposed to and I didn't know how much trouble I was in, but it's all very funny to me now. Actually it turned out that my aunt was pretty good about it....she was more concerned about my not being hurt and the mess got cleaned up. She didn't punish me. She knew it was an accident and I didn't intend to make a mess. It was just one of those things that can happen with a kid because they don't know any better. That's why kids need supervision and can't be left alone because they will experiment with what's around them. That's how they learn. And sometimes it's the hard way. :)

Glad someone was around to help you with that thing and you weren't hurt....just scared a bit....and undies can always be washed. :eyeroll:

The Dalai Lama Says...

Dalai Lama: "It is clear that inner peace is the principal cause of happiness. We can observe this in our daily lives. On days when we are calm and happy, even if difficulties arise or we fall victim to a mishap, we take it well, it doesn’t bother us unduly. But on days when we feel sad or have lost our usual calmness, the least little annoyance will take on enormous proportions and be deeply upsetting to us."

In theory, processing uses the throat chakra to bring the head and heart together--on some processes, if it's done right. What the guy did in the video is interesting. He mentioned that the person doesn't even have to voice what the pain/feeling was about. That might be true for some. I would insist on sharing my story even if it's in brief, even if it's just a joke that I choose to crack. I could not sit there in silence if I am working with someone I really like, and I think I would not work with a practitioner whom I did not really like. This has nothing to do with my scientology indoc; that's just the way that I am. :coolwink:

I do like the idea of masters speaking from one voice. There's something to this. You can see where scientology's one voice, Hubbard, was pretty screwed up--at least I see that. Take the subjects of sex and money, run them through the "voices" from root to crown. There's major conflict there. The only way to resolve it and stay true to policy is to suppress all the voices--my reality, of course.

How come they didn't have this stuff when I was in school? College students learn how to Fall in Love with any of a multitude of possible lifetime companions. Learning how to really make contact with the soul of another.

They didn't have this stuff when I was going to school because I was in Florida, not California. We learned the old fashioned way at the drive-in theatre. When I got into scientology the field hadn't been screwed up by the SO. Sex? That was just a different form of ARC. We all know ARC is a good thing. There was lots of it, too. ARC ran very high.

It's funny, maybe, but my friends of that time--4 different couples off the top of my head--are long and far away from scientology, and they have remained married, with children, 35+ years. You should not mess with or try to regulate Mother Nature.:thumbsup::thumbsup:
