Thanks for posting this about Jim Pinkham!!

Ive wondered about origin of What to Audit ,(HOM)

Ron Dewolfs explanations were good enough for me, but its always great to expand.

I recall Edward G. Robles Jr stating there was a rumor Ron was working with two Schizes as he called them who had contact with the whole track in Phoenix, which 'formed' up some of the what to Audit.

The different tracks are interesting, as is the symbological processing, it doesnt ever seem to have caught on, more BS that you have to learn the background to, has anyone here ever run that 'dirty 30', '80' ,'88' stuff?

whether one votes for the obama or bachmann, we're screwed

there is no candidate with William F. Buckley, Jr.'s intelligence, Barry Goldwater's nomination, or Ronald Reagan's telecommunication skills.

Carmelo -I agree with you! I do not think that the current crop of Republican candidates have the answers either. I do think that things will be worse under Obama. I don't know if they would be any better if one of the current crop of Republicans get elected. As they say, Washington is broken.

Basically, the Obama crowd believes the way out of the financial crises we are in is to increase taxes and create more government programs to put people to work. They do not want us to drill for oil or to promote nuclear energy, natural gas or any of those energy sources. They are gearing us up for green energy solutions.

Any confidence which one might have had in the Republican party as a viable alternative was wrecked by the 8 years of George W. Bush.

The country took a huge financial hit in being drawn into the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and now President Obama has added Libya to the mix. The collapse of the housing market and the various financial institutions in the 2008-2009 period have totally wrecked our economy. Both political parties share responsibility for the financial debacle.

There might be some betterment in electing a presidential candidate who has had success in bringing a business or a State in the USA back from a deep financial deficit

President Obama has never run a business of any type, nor has he run a City as Mayor or a State as Governor. It is obvious that he is not qualified to bring us out of any financial debacle and it is likely that he will make matters worse.

With some of his Republican opponents, there is some chance that a candidate with some executive experience might do better than President Obama, both in the area of finance and in the area of world affairs.

Other than that, I agree with all of the recommendations which you make to individual citizens. Forming a grass roots movement at the local level is noble endeavor. In the meantime, we have to vote for someone or just sit out the election. To me, to vote against President Obama is better than sitting it out. I am just saying we might be screwed less if Bachman, Romney or one of the others got in than if Obama got in.

Re: RIP: Jim Pinkham

A friend wrote this to me today:

I recently found out that Jim Pinkham passed away earlier this year.  Jim was one of LRH's first staff members, and a very close friend of Jack Horner.  I became acquainted with him for a period of about 5 years when he was living in San Francisco, starting around 1999 or 2000.  I don't have enough information about him to write a proper obituary, but the writeup below is from my recollections, plus emails and notes from phone conversations.

Jim Pinkham 1928 - 2011

Jim Pinkham attended the second Dianetics course held in Elizabeth New Jersey, joined staff and worked under LRH until 1955 when he was, as he put it, "eased out."  (Earlier, in Philadelphia, Helen O'Brien had tried to persuade LRH to fire Pinkham, but Ron told her "I fired him, but he won't leave!")

In 1953 Pinkam went to live in Phoenix to continue working for LRH.  Like Hubbard, he was a motorcycle enthusiast, and they sometimes rode together during this period, sometimes off road at high speed.  Ron told him "You know, Jim, a horse will go almost anywhere a motorcycle will go."

Among other duties Jim was responsible for recording many or most of LRH's lectures in the early to mid 50's, and after leaving staff in 1955 he occasionally returned at LRH's request to record more lectures at the congresses, through 1962.

Jim claimed that the theme "Accent on Ability" in Dianetics '55 was the result of an all-night discussion he had with Bob Stone.  He said that on the following day they spent several hours explaining their idea to LRH, after which the the book, still in draft form, was substantially rewritten to incorporate it.

Jim also said the content of History of Man (a/k/a What to Audit) was not from from LRH's case nor audited by LRH. He claimed that it came from the sessions of one Nan Webster McCurdy, audited by Bud Eubanks in Wichita in the fall of 1951, and that "Hubbard bought it hook, line and sinker."  He said the sessions were "recorded, transcribed, and embellished."  He also described Ms. McCurdy as "certifiably insane," and characterized "95% of the dissertation on the whole track in What to Audit" as "pure crap."

He described LRH as a "very proprietary individual" and thought that Ron had decided "how to get the larger part of humanity under his general control" as early as 1951, and that part of that plan included promoting the concept "Look, Don't Think," which Jim attributed to a lecture given in or around September, 1953.

Jim thought that auditing had workability, but he was not a believer in the Scientology "Bridge to Total Freedom."  He referred to it as "the bridge that goes up but not across."

He was a lover of jokes and especially puns.  (Somewhere there is a lecture in which LRH laments the number of people who left Scientology before the latest developments, comparing them to dinner guests who leave before dessert is served.  LRH concludes his remarks with something like "I could have said they deserted before dessert, but that sounds too much like Pinkham.")

This is great stuff it explains alot, where the core idea came from for what to Audit, HOM. VERY VERY, good contribution.!! Sep 1951

Now you must send this information to the KOT and BC sups to include in their little note sheet of "WTF did LRH just say?"

Your caveat noted, but nice write-up just the same.

Over all, good advice.

To the degree money crosses national and international lines, to the degree it is manipulated, the job of acting locally requires some attention to affairs in Washington. To the degree commodities are necessary to the survival of a good life, attention to affairs in Washington is a must.

It seems that all politicians end up swimming together in poopy water of their own making. They might jump in clean but get dirtied up sooner or later.

Still, if we will never get the ideal we must do our best to prevent the worst possible candidate from assuming post. Obama is as dirty as they have ever come to the office. I am voting ABO. (Anyone But Obama) Polls are indicating that Generic Republican would win over Obama. So for now that is my candidate of choice.

Good luck on sorting fact from fiction when it comes to determining who's who in the race.

Good Vid Ted,

similarities with hubbards lecture on Rise and Fall of civilisations, i noticed the commentator didnt call to attention dictatorship being a problem in rome, like hubbard he called it decadence from the top down.

when he was talking about money and addiction, and the money running out, i was expecting "so lock up your house and possessions", the government needs its next fix" i guess that comes when the looting starts.

That Darn George Bush!

Here's an opinion piece by Chuck Green who writes "Greener Pastures" for the Denver Post Aurora Sentinel...this is one of the more liberal newspapers in the country. Additionally, Mr. Green is a life long Democrat...so this is rather a stunning piece...

Obama is victim of Bush's failed promises
Greener Pastures Column -- 5/ 15/10

Barack Obama is setting a record-setting number of records during his first term in office:
Largest budget ever. Largest deficit ever. Largest number of broken promises ever. Most self-serving speeches ever. Largest number of agenda-setting failures ever. Fastest dive in popularity ever.

Wow! Talk about change...

Just over a year ago, fresh from his inauguration celebrations, President Obama was flying high. After one of the nation's most inspiring political campaigns, the election of America 's first black president had captured the hopes and dreams of millions. To his devout followers, it was inconceivable that one year later his administration would be gripped in a self-imposed crisis.

Of course, they don't see it as self-imposed. It's all George Bush's fault.

George Bush, who doesn't have a vote in congress and who no longer occupies the White House, is to blame for it all.

He broke Obama's promise to put all bills on the White House web site for five days before signing them.

He broke Obama's promise to have the congressional health care negotiations broadcast live on C-SPAN.

He broke Obama's promise to end earmarks.

He broke Obama's promise to keep unemployment from rising above 8 percent.

He broke Obama's promise to close the detention center at Guantanamo in the first year.

He broke Obama's promise to make peace with direct, no precondition talks with America 's most hate-filled enemies during his first year in office, ushering in a new era of global cooperation.

He broke Obama's promise to end the hiring of former lobbyists into high White House jobs.

He broke Obama's promise to end no-compete contracts with the government.

He broke Obama's promise to disclose the names of all attendees at closed White House meetings.

He broke Obama's promise for a new era of bipartisan cooperation in all matters.

He broke Obama's promise to have chosen a home church to attend Sunday services with his family by Easter of last year.

Yes, it's all George Bush's fault. President Obama is nothing more than a puppet in the never-ending failed Bush administration.

If only George Bush wasn't still in charge, all of President Obama's problems would be solved. His promises would have been kept, the economy would be back on track, Iran would have stopped its work on developing a nuclear bomb and would be negotiating a peace treaty with Israel. North Korea would have ended its tyrannical regime, and integrity would have been restored to the federal government.

Oh, and did I mention what it would be like if the Democrats, under the leadership of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, didn't have the heavy yoke of George Bush around their necks? There would be no ear marks, no closed-door drafting of bills, no increase in deficit spending, no special-interest influence (unions), no vote buying (Nebraska, Louisiana).

If only George Bush wasn't still in charge, we'd have real change by now.

All the broken promises, all the failed legislation and delay (health care reform, immigration reform) is not President Obama's fault or the fault of the Democrat-controlled Congress. It's all George Bush's fault.

Take for example the decision of Eric Holder, the president's attorney general, to hold terrorists' trials in New York City . Or his decision to try the Christmas Day underpants bomber as a civilian.

Two disastrous decisions.

Certainly those were bad judgments based on poor advice from George Bush.

Need more proof?

You might recall that when Scott Brown won the election to the U.S. Senate from Massachusetts, capturing "the Ted Kennedy seat", President Obama said that Brown's victory was the result of the same voter anger that propelled Obama into office in 2008. People were still angry about George Bush and the policies of the past 10 years. And they wanted change.

Yes, according to our president, the voter rebellion in Massachusetts was George Bush's fault.

Therefore, in retaliation, they elected a Republican to the Ted Kennedy seat, ending a half-century of domination by Democrats. It is all George Bush's fault.

Will the failed administration of George Bush ever end, and the time for hope and change ever arrive?

Will President Obama ever accept responsibility for something... - anything?

Thanks Ted, I heard/watched the entire 22 minute video. I had stumbled upon most of this info in fragmented form before but the video is the best stated, clearest and most concise summary of this point of view that I have encountered. I highlighted in blue the parts of your post which I resonated with the most!

I was not aware of some of the info given in the beginning of the video and knew nothing of the remake of the film, "The Manchurian Candidate".

The people pushing the "Progressive" agenda are more dangerous even than Hubbard. They were able to take over the key mind forming institutions in the Western governments, such as the centers of education, the news and movie making outlets, etc.

Thank you for posting this video with me in mind! I really appreciate it. After making this post, I will watch part 2.

I share your sentiments about "any candidate but Obama". I believe that Obama is the worst possible candidate for the office since he would act to bring down the USA faster than anyone else.

What is your take on Obama's motives. Mine is that he was brainwashed with these progressive ideas throughout his entire growing up period and during his entire education. I may be naive but I believe he is not an evil person and that he really believes the progressive line and thinks he is doing the right thing for the world in promoting his agenda. What is your take on this?

Another comment on what Carmelo wrote. I believe there is the micro level and the macro level. Redoing one's power processing or beefing up decisions about being Cause in your own life are micro level actions. They are valid things to do. I have no disagreement with doing these recommendations.

I consider that macro level activities are not negated by focusing on micro level activities. A citizen should still learn as much as possible about what is taking place in the political sphere of his country and that of the world. The Bill Whittle videos are excellent sources to learn more about what is happening. I still believe that keeping President Obama from being re-elected is a worthy goal.

Perhaps we will elect only an "Obama mild" who will still wreak havoc. Maybe, maybe not. Even if that is true, "anyone but Obama" will likely delay the speed with which the US economy and financial system rushes towards collapse. If a collapse is delayed significantly and a political leader who is extremely savy and forceful is elected this election is still certainly important enough to follow and take part in.

Re: The old days - Aboard the Apollo - 1973 - YOU MENTION TWO KEY POINTS!!

<snipped>

As you say, Jachs, if a person messed up, all that the person had done before was invalidated. IT WAS EVEN WORSE THAN THAT, MUCH WORSE! Sometimes, the person did not mess up. They were accused of messing up but in reality had done nothing wrong!!

EXTREME CASES OF PERSONS "MESSING" UP WHEN THEY DIDN'T
Read the story of Otto Roos, Class XII, who made a concerted effort to have standard LRH tech applied to LRH's case. Working with a team of Apollo Class XII's, he was determined to totally clean up LRH's case. At first LRH expressed gratitude and interest but as the time neared for LRH's case to be audited, LRH punched Roos in the face, stripped him of all his certs and kicked him out.

The other case of comparable magnitude was what happened to Class XII David Mayo. Of course he was stripped of all certificates after working closely with LRH for a decade, saving LRH's life by bringing him back from "dying" up to a state of health where he could continue to work. Mayo also helped LRH develop NOTS.

A POSSIBLE NEW THREAD?
In one's journey through the Church of Scientology, huge outpoints and inconsistencies are encountered such as those above. I AM TALKING ABOUT OUTPOINTS SO LARGE THAT JUST THAT ONE POINT ALONE WOULD BE SUFFICIENT GROUNDS TO LEAVE C OF S!! It would be interesting to start a thread of just those types of outpoints and see where it leads!

I have always thought there was some kind of game implant of making us fight each other or play king of the hill that was very vicious and that it was preparatory for this universe. There have been too many heartbreaks in my life where someone stabbed me in the back just when I was the most benevolent and expanded. People who reach ascension states on cocaine etc always trigger this viscious charge. Each time they will do you in as a defense against you doing them in first because they are positive its the only game in town. My life would have been so different without this crap dramatized to the hilt within the 80s and 90s in coke saturated Fla.

Your view appears to be much kinder than mine.

Obama has been groomed for this position since childhood. I do not have any notion that this was the plan all along. I have no way of knowing that. I think, however, that one thing fell into place for him after another.

Like Hubbard, Obama is narcissistic. He speaks well. His smile is charming. When friendly, he is a cool, likable dude. The narcissist can charm the pants off of someone when he wants something out of that person. Behind the scenes, he is someone else: petulant, pouty, angry at times, acts like a spoiled brat when he doesn't get his way, or so the reports convey. Like Hubbard. What puzzles me is how a someone who has studied and lived within Scientology can go anti-Hubbard but remain pro Obama.

If we use just the stats to determine the worth of these two men, then I would have to conclude that contrary to their glowing reports, both are destructive. We auditors know that when the pc is always complaining about what's been done to him and others are responsible for his condition, that pc is very low on responsibility. As Hubbard once said, "Responsibility is not assigned, it is assumed."

I had plenty of time and experience to examine Hubbard's pronouncements to determine validity. Some I find useful, some I do not. I have no such experience with Obama except for this: The price of things I buy every day is going up, gas, food, etc. The dollar value of gold is sky high. This is happening because the dollar is weakening at a rapid rate. We are engaged in at least 3 wars, one entirely of Obama's making, and these wars are putting a big drain on the economy. Obama's Peace Prize was a total sham.

Obama is divisive. He has not progressed beyond community organizer. A president has to let go of a tenacious hold on his party affiliation as he is president of all the people. Obama is not capable of managing from that position.

This is my opinion. I do not want the son of a bitch in my White House. There is much going on with him that would make me puke if I knew it all. This is likely true of all long-term Washington politicians. At this stage, Obama is a good thing for America because a whole lot more people are now engaged in the political process. We needed this guy's out-ethics to put us so far over the top tha twe had to stand up and take notice.

I never thought Obama was a good speaker. I never thought he was charming. I did think he is slimy like a snake. (But that dishonors snakes, as understand they are NOT slimy.)

Limbaugh had it right: "I hope he fails." Unfortunately, Obama succeeded. Big time. Liberals can carp on me as long as they like, while our "Rome" burns.

Thanks Ted! As usual, you deliver the goods with an excellent post. Yes, that Peace Prize, given before the man did anything towards world peace makes the award and the panel who vote on it and present it into complete phoney lunatics. Hear we are 2 1/2 years later and he still has done nothing for peace. Rather than represent the USA with confidence and firm leadership, he bows deeper to other leaders than any other president or ambassador. Deep bows to leaders of marginally ethical leaders is his greatest contribution to "peace"!

I am really a softy. My kids and so many people I know, still swear by Obama. They cite the fact that he took over a very poor situation from Bush. I try and see things from their point of view and end up granting their opinions beingness. The fact that the Republicans don't really represent the answer to Obama, also causes reasonableness.

Thanks for clearing things up. If the truth be told, I believe exactly as you do!
