Re: The old days - Aboard the Apollo - 1973

I got a PM this morning around 6 AM, that aroused a vent in me, that you are about to read, if you continue. Consider this a belated KR

In 1968, when I was a 17 year old high school senior,

attachment.php

I got involved with Scientology along with nearly 2 dozen of my friends.

I had a girl friend, who I love(d) and who loved me.

attachment.php

My life was on track.

I got involved, with the idea of helping others, not of being helped. I had been looking for a synthesis of philosophy, science, and religion. Scientology seemed to match up.

I had done grass, hash, and acid. Because of that, there was a haze or mass that I was walking around in, that I could see. It didn't seem to affect my life though.

I was a working farm boy and rock and roll band roadie in addition to going to school (which I ditched as often as possible). I had my own money. I was making $25. an hour. Auditing cost $25 an hour.

I mentioned to an auditor the haze I perceived. They set me up with Eddie Wooderson, a Class Vl auditor to do a GF40 (Green Form). He found an incident. Eddie put me deep in an incident 100,000 years ago, ran me into it until I was practically unconscious, and then ended session, saying he was a Class Vl auditor and this was beneath him to audit.

I was a newbie, and paying for the auditing! i walked around in a daze for six months after that. Finally I got a dianetic auditor friend to finish the incident off.

I was 17 years old and he just left me there because it wasn't worth his time to get me through it.

Because of that, and the subsequent handling I got from his wife, Cherie (another Class Vl), where she sat me down and asked me repeatedly if I knew who I was. My answer being "yes" for the first dozen or so times. I finally, realized she didn't want my answer. She wanted another answer, so I said "maybe" and she put me in Enemy and had me work out of it to Non E to her satisfaction -- not mine. This was really degrading. Not humbling. It was degrading.

In all this mess, I hung in, but lost my girl friend. My friends all moved to LA, and I stayed in Nor Cal. I went out the bottom.

Once I learned to audit, I was appalled at what they did to me. They violated most of the basics of auditing: get the PC through it, end on a win, what turns it on will turn it off, take the PC's data - to name a few.

Those two people couldn't audit their way out of a paper bag, yet someone passed them, and allowed them to finish the briefing course.

Since that time, I've only had one auditor, who was as egregiously bad as them, Eric Woolery. Why anyone ever gave him permission to audit is anyone's guess.

What is so fucking hard about the basics of auditing?

I learned early on that an Auditor's "Class" and "Case Level" was far less important than their Head and Heart. That shoulda told me something right there. :melodramatic:

For those who don't or can't care for another, the caring for another.

To do an honest job of auditing another you've got to care about them, their welfare and that you do it honestly.

Any SOB who would do what you related just simply is to much of a low-life to care for a fellow human Being.

Although John and Paul, their band, and their producer, each got one award over those years, it would seem that the phenomena, known as "The Beatles," was largely ignored.

So much for recognition by peers.

Umm... Ah... They had no peers, not as songsmiths, not as a pop phenomena, not as social changers and commentators, not as a great little band.

Paul McCartney's new album, "Kisses On The Bottom," is his ever present, wise-cracking-Beatle way of saying, "Kiss my ass. I'm still here!"

(But it's actually a line from the song, "I'm Going To Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter.")

Writer: AHLERT, FRED E. / YOUNG, JOE

I'm gonna sit right down
And write myself a letter
And make believe it came from you
I'm gonna write words oh, so sweet
They're gonna knock me off of my feet
A lot of kisses on the bottom
I'll be glad I got 'em

I'm gonna smile and say
"I hope you're feeling better"
And close with love, the way that you do
I'm gonna sit right down
And write myself a letter
And make believe it came from you

I'm gonna sit right down
And write myself a letter
And make believe that it came from you
I'm gonna write words oh, so sweet, yeah!

Lotta kisses on the bottom
I'll be glad I got 'em
I'm gonna smile and say
"I hope you're feeling better"
And close with love, the way that you do

I'm gonna sit right down
And write myself a letter
And make believe it came from you...

I'm gonna sit right down
And write myself a letter
And make believe it came
Make believe that it came from you!

I'm rarely that caustic...although I've been known to have a few excoriating words for El Ron, DM, M&M and and one or two others her and there.

However, if Eddie or Cherie...or any of the others I have castigated on ESMB...are here, I don't apologize. If ya don't likes what I'v's said then call me out.

I saw some Wooderson's "Products" that weren't real pretty...not very pretty at all.

Forget about the "Tech" and "Black Dianetics"...you can do some serious hurt to another when they are Trusting you, have Faith in what you supposedly know what you're doing and are, in that faith, baring their Soul and opening the depths of their Heart

Peers

Certainly one peer possibility as far as songsmithing and musicality comes by way of Brian Wilson and The Beachboys. He wrote, and they sang, of life, nothing airy-fairy or too philosophical, just everyday stuff--guys, girls, cars, surfing, dancing, enjoying life.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPJO_9a01ps&feature=related

Here's a deviation from the guys/girls/cars formula. "Surf's Up." I still don't get Van Dyke Parks' poetry as the imagery comes across to me as fragmented concepts, but the music is beautiful.

Yes. Quite a foolish move. A sure way to kill the subject.

There are some processes and rundowns in the act archives: alt.clearing.technology or Homer's archives at www.clearing.org/.

further on the subject of Knowledgism:

it seems that Alan's friends, and the staff, that didn't inherit the place (David and Ceil), have been shown the door.

What is this all about? :confused2:

Not that I'm shocked at the prospect of people being silly especially when assets or prestige seem to be at stake. But it's a bit discommoding to encounter cryptic partial references to events which are not fully explained.

Re: What Maroons!

Next thing you know they will outlaw laying on the beach in the sun because someone might be walking on the beach and trip over you and hurt themselves.

After they get done passing all their laws to protect all of us, they will then wrap us in cloth so that we can't move even a fraction of an inch and then mummify us all so that we won't somehow be hurt or cause any harm to anyone else. I guess when we are all dead there will be no one to cause any more harm and no laws will be broken and no more laws will be need to be made. We'll all be safe in our graves.

Total peace. I can't wait. :eyeroll:

Is this all just someone's idea of a bad joke or has the world really gone that mad?

Don't play kids....someone might get hurt.....just everybody sit quietly and no one will get hurt. And while you're sitting there, we'll just give you a little vaccine here so that you won't get the flu and we'll also give you a few drugs so that you won't get nervous about all the restrictions we've put on you and your having to sit still all the time. It will calm your nerves and the idleness won't bother you.

Funny? I think it's sick.

Society is being run by a bunch of batshit crazy idiots and it seems to be getting worse at a rather rapid pace.

I used to go to the beach to feel free and have fun.....guess I can't do that anymore. What a shame.

Carmelo ....what are you going to do when they get around to banning dogs on all the California beaches?

most beaches in California dogs aren't allowed.

that is hardly a hindrance. I believe the operating phrase is: It's not a crime, unless you get caught.

Dog owners and dogs alike share beaches easily and politely most of the time. Nobody, except a few martinets, care.

the ranch and the materials were left to David Nelson (49%) and Ceil (51%).

they let some long time staff go last year.

there was a processor. He is now working at Home Depot.

Alan had two very good friends. D & C are done with both of them for different reasons, but there is a certain prejudice away from anyone, who has done scientology

I presumed that there was enough knowledge of the inhospitable climate emanating from Ceil Stanford and David Nelson, that explanation wasn't especially needed.

They have no sense of history, community, loyalty, public relations. They know that they own it, lock , stock, and barrel, and owe no one nothing.

Alan's written works are floating around among disaffected KN people, because there is distrust of D & C's custodianship (a little over 2 gigs)

Is this specific enough?

Well, I am one who does know what's going on . . . . but I'd say I am likely to be the only one who really does that's posting on ESMB.

There are how many hundreds of folks here who have interest, even if only passing, on "the ranch" scene?

And both your posts actually say next to nothing of use, or that informs of anything, to them

It's a WTF?!? As MAB demonstrated with his response.

If you have some actual info to share, spill it.

As to your opening paragraph cited here . . . Oh? And where is that presumed "enough knowledge of the inhospitable climate emanating from Ceil Stanford and David Nelson" I've not seen it on ESMB . . . .

Well, for my part and I'm certain I am not alone in this, it was the nature of the response of the current leadership of the aclc that I found to be disturbingly inappropriate, rather than the specific arguments that resulted in initiating that particular flamewar. :omg:

I do appreciate your comments seeking to clarify the history of this particular "prosperity list" exchange. But they don't really address the extremity of the reactivity of the "official response" made on that list. Not that I consider it to be incumbent on you, Rog, to explain away the irrationalities & reactivities of others. What little I've seen of Alan's tech improvements appear to me to be quite valuable. Unfortunately, those heated comments of Mr. Nelson & Ms. Stanford do nothing to assure one of the wisdom of their own individual judgements.

I for one hope you don't stray too far, Rog, as the idea of having your contributions to a "new prosperity list thread" here on esmb is an attractive one to me.

specifically D & C told my source that Dart was trying to use their materials without paying for them

they told same source Dean was not welcome because he initiated a 2D with a student there.

Brian, the processor, was apparently, just let go, with not even a "thank you"

I assume your source is your Dr. friend, and several others. Dart posts on ESMB, are you saying he doesn't know?

Re: The old days - Aboard the Apollo - 1973

Lakey,

Like I said before, I did not listen to the song until after my first couple of posts. The way your first post re: the song appeared to me at the time I read it...it was late in the day and my brain was already starting its nightly mini-crash, it appeared to me that you were recalling some of the things you were saying. The "did something to shorten their tails" made no sense and I said something. For some reason, due to my problems reading and writing off and on during the day, I somehow thought you were recalling driving cattle up to Idaho from California.

As far as the Texas cattle going to Idaho, I did some looking and the Idaho cattle herds...which had been built up from Seedstock from Oregon and Washington...were decimated by some sever winters around 1867-68 and the Oregon/Washington herds were hit fairly hard, too.

The mining industry was booming then and there was a desperate need for new Seedstock and an interim beef supply. A large amount of the cattle that was brought in across Wyoming had been driven up into the Midwest from Texas. I did not know this.

Starting in the late 1870's and for about 6 years there were some drives of around 2,000 head made from Texas to Wyoming and Montana to establish herds there--which I knew--and fatten cattle for beef allotments to the now "Ward of the State" Plains Indians--which I did not know were, for awhile, partly Texas cattle.

There were already cattle herds established at this time in Montana and Wyoming as well, however, the seizing of the Native American,s lush pasture land there meant the sustainable breeding cattle numbers could overnight increase by times multiple.

So, the Lyrics to the song appear to be a composite of things that happened over that small window in time.

BTW, the big "Railhead Drives" had as many as 15,000 head...man, that's a lot of cattle!

Face :)

Thanks for explaining this Face; I REALLY understand what you are saying! I did mislead you as to whether I was recalling things from my past or whether I was getting things from the song. ACTUALLY I DID BOTH AND THEN MIXED THEM TOGETHER. This was poor writing, especially when dealing with very sharp people.

Two things are from my past. First I ran some pictures of being a 21 year old in 1860 while living on a ranch in the Texas - New Mexico area. In this incident, I was mortally shot by an Indian at close range while I was working on a fence. My Mom told me in the morning when I left the ranch house that she would make me a surprise meal for dinner when I returned home. My dying thoughts were of her.

The other thought was about how much fun it was out on the trail to wake up in the morning to the smell of bacon cooking and coffee brewing out on the plains. This thought is probably a combo of seeing Western movies plus camping out when a Boy Scout, where we often cooked up bacon in the mornings in the outdoors. The adults in charge would brew coffee for themselves.

All the rest of the data I was relating came from the song. My writing was slipshod, mixing personal memories plus opinions together with the contents of the song. I knew I had done that butI did not think it was important, believing that all the interest would be in the song and very little in my personal recall. I couldn't believe it when I was taken to task so heavily for inconsistencies in my story.

How wrong can a person be? Hardly anyone cared about the song but there was a lot of interest in pointing out errors in my story and my interpretations of the song. You guys are very sharp and perceptive here!! The moral is to either make sure that what you write is clear and accurate or to just not give a damn and write what you feel and just have some fun. I gave a damn and made an effort to clear up the muddle which I had created. Hopefully this post will finish the clean up.

Face, you did not misinterpret anything. Rather, you were very perceptive and were trying to make sense out of a mish mash created by me. Ditto for some of the other critical posts.

WOULDN'T YOU KNOW IT?This whole discussion, mainly fueled by Face turned out to be of great interest to me. As fate would have it, yesterday I was over at a friends house who is from Columbia. He was watching the "Mexico" channel on cable TV. A Mexican movie entitled "ESTAMPIDO" (The Stampede) was on. Guess what? That movie took place completely in Northern Mexico near the USA border and concerned a large herd of cattle. There were Mexican Vaqueros, USA Cowboys and Indians all vying for power in this story about a cattle drive. Check it out:
