Re: The old days - Aboard the Apollo - 1973

Lakey,

I’ve decided to respond to your post on Mich’s Thread here so as to not derail the “New guy on the block” Thread. As we all know, there’s no such thing as “derailing” on the Apollo Thread.

Spare me the self-righteous show-boating indignation. Just because that Thread was started by a Newbie I’m not gonna give you a “Pass” on your BS. Honestly Lakey, if that’s how you see ESMB and your fellow ESMBers I truly feel sorry for you.

There was no malice in my “WTF” it but you chose to see malice. It was a simple “WTF” and you knew exactly what I was talking about. You pontificated on the “make-up” of the Board, explained everyone here with some off the wall “analysis” invention about the “factions” and “groups” and “types” here. Later, when you get called on it to you say it’s just an opinion and then give more off the wall analysis about the “types” here to try and reinforce it as careful quasi statistical analysis and more than an opinion. Not only do I disagree with your BS “Analysis”, you do a great disservice to a Newbie by your off the wall, “Authoritative", "Years of Experience", "Long Time To See", "Tech Data" explanation about the rest of Us here. Amending posts after someone calls you on something is intellectually dishonest and emotionally chicken shit.

ESMB is not, IMO, “Factions”, “Groups”, “Types” or whatever else you see it as “Compartmentalized” or “Explained” by…Gawd, didn’t we all get enough of that in Scn? ESMB is just Folks, like thee and me who, again IMO, are trying to figure out WTF happened, HTF do I make sense of “it”, WTF do I do now and WTF can I talk with that will “Grok” me, not judge me and or try to “Guru” me . Here on this Board are the words and stories of folk from every era, continent, processing level, “Tech” training level and “Admin” training level…Up to and including Class XII’s trained by Hisself, OT 8’s and FEBC’s/DSEC’s…And there is also the words and stories of Folks that knew El Ron and were the actual “source” of some of the “Breakthrough’s” El Ron bragged about Hisself having done.

As far as the “bitter” goes…I’m not bitter at all…My more than 100,000 words on this Board about my personal experience with El Ron, MSH, Flag Crew and SO, spanning the time from the inception of the SO to El Ron’s death, should clearly show that. I’ve said numerous times that it was my path and I wouldn’t change it…You know that…You commented on some of those posts. You chose to paint me with another one of your Grandstanding “Holier Than Thow” and Scn-like Pigeonholing brushes.

As far as the “cuss words” go…Oh, really? You’ve used the “F” word, all four letters, in a number of posts in the past…as well as other “cuss words”. I suppose to you then when you use them it’s okay but when someone else uses initials…like the “WTF Is Scientology” Thread that’s currently active on ESMB…they should be dismissed as also just a bunch of “bitter” folks that are, like me, “just background noise”. Ironic and hypocritical you would refer to me in such a dismissive way.

Okay, I’ve had my say. As always I yield the last word to you. You are free to do your customary misquote, misrepresent, reinterpret and “explain” me, my words and thoughts and post whatever BS you wish to in the future and I won’t call you on it. I promise you this will never happen again as I will never again comment on any future Posts you make on ESMB. You are free to enlighten everyone as to just what “Category”, “Type” and “Faction” I am and I will not refute you. Also, I will never again post my “Background Noise” on “Your Thread”...I’m outta here. I just don’t have any more time or stamina or stomach for jumping on your hamster wheel with you.

I sincerely appreciate your contributions to ESMB and your helpfulness in the past to me.

Peace.

You hit the nail on the head - perfectly.

Unfortunately, you, I, and damn near every other reader here ( and in the future ) get that .....but....... the person you are addressing never will. That's his plight in life.

Off this thread ? I get that.

I think I'll gladly join in you in no matter what that one does just consider the source and let it go.

Off ESMB ? That would break my heart to see you leave over the likes of a [ DELETED ] "Lakey".

Many times I have concluded that I have had enough of internet posting because I have been doing it a long time and I wonder if I ever get through to the one person who might need what I have to say. (Long sentence, huh?) I was about to check out when Face arrived. So...

A little appreciation from the right person keeps me hanging on.

Face! Come back!

To think someone the caliber of face was run off by the likes of a Lackey ?

Damn shame.

I nominate that post by Face as the most quotable post of the year.!

Face, that is honestly how I see it. That is the truth.

I didn't choose to see malice in your "WTF". I wasn't sure what you meant so I didn't respond. Of course you are free to disagree with my analysis. No problem!

I was just gonna post the :confused2: Icon but the last time I commented on a post of yours with an Icon you wrote half a ream about my choice of "words" and what the Icon "meant", so I just said "WTF? :confused2:".

In my opinion, it is very compartmentalized. We have a difference of opinion.

As far as the “bitter” goes…I’m not bitter at all…My more than 100,000 words on this Board about my personal experience with El Ron, MSH, Flag Crew and SO, spanning the time from the inception of the SO to El Ron’s death, should clearly show that. You chose to paint me with another one of your Grandstanding “Holier Than Thow” and Scn-like Pigeonholing brushes.

I made no comment about you being bitter. I chose not to reply to your "WTF".

I am just refering to using cuss words in knocking particular individuals. Sometimes a cuss word can be an effective embellishment in knocking a topic or even an idea but I don't believe it is appropriate when criticizing a person.

Okay, I’ve had my say. As always I yield the last word to you. You are free to do your customary misquote, misrepresent, reinterpret and “explain” me, my words and thoughts and post whatever BS you wish to in the future and I won’t call you on it. PS: Be seein' all Y'all around the Rodeo. :coolwink:

I wrote what I feel is one of my best posts but I made sure to mention that the ideas expressed were just opinions.

Face wrote "WTF" while Toady and Olska responded negatively. The newbie, Mich, whom I was directing my post to, responded with a post thanking me.

I wasn't sure what Face's WTF meant other than that he did not like the post. There was nothing specific about it so I chose not to respond to him. Toady, I see as background noise. No matter what I write, he always writes a negative comment so I usually pay him no mind. I chose Olska's post to respond to.

I would never write anything about Face being bitter. He has been one of my mentors. I did not write that he was bitter. It just did not happen.

I still believe that post is one of my very best. It is an honest statement of how I see the various factions who participate on ESMB. It is just my opinion. Of course some peopole will agree and some will disagree. If someone challenges some specific portion of it and shows me errors in my logic, I am open to altering my post.

My God, this is a discussion board, the idea is to put forth one's ideas and stimulate some discussion. In my posts I am extremely careful not to make personal attacks against individuals. I stick to the issues. I state my views in an honest way, trying to be brutally honest. I am flexible and if someone shows me that I am in error, I will apologize and revise my post.

Following this formula, I have been very successful on ESMB. The last thing in the world I would ever do is to attack Face and say negative things about him. For what it's worth, In my classification system, I consider him in the same class that I am. I don't consider him in the class with people such as Toady, Olska, Helluva and Veda.

By the way, the people in that class are not automatically "bad". I greatly admire Helluva's and Veda's post. Helluva's posts contain a lot of truth in them and are fantastically creative and amusing while Veda's post are meticulously accurate as to content being stated objectively. Also, I think many of Olska's posts are quite intelligently written. I put "Trouble" in that class and yet have reached agreement with her on many of her posts and consider her a good person and good poster.

The way I see it, this is a discussion board and unwittingly, without intending it or knowing it, I wrote a post which infuriated FACE. If there is anything I can do to repair this damage, let me know and I will do it.

Someone should be allowed to give his opinions which he feels are truthful without being personally discredited. Sure controversy and disagreement may be stirred up a little but that's what a discussion board is all about.

\Is the same guy whom told Olska she made a " bad post" and etc most of you read ? Really ?
He took Olska to task but he should be given a pass on no matter what BS he posts ? Folks, that is insane as only a scientologist can be insane. Jus sayin.

Jesus, that boy makes shit up faster than he can type. Amazing ability to BS himself on what he himself posted. I starting to wonder if he is kin to hisself ! Or is it just an LRH valence he has running amuck?

That boy can set a world record in pissing backwards when it looks like what he posted garners pretty much universal rejection ( As did dear Leader, LRH ). He can't stand it. What a little chicken shit ( few choice words left out ) he has proven to be.

Gee, no X's use profanity do they ? He was always immaculate................right ?

Like you did with Olska ?
<snip> For what it's worth, In my classification system, I consider him in the same class that I am.

That was a MAJOR insult of Face. Boy, you are not in his class, period. You owe a sincere apology for that tripe !

Unwitting, my ass ! Either you knew what you were doing or you are not anywhere nearly as bright as you have pretended you are .
Or........Oh, you can't take the heat you generated so you piss backwards ? That's called chicken shit. Try owning what you do.

Someone should be allowed to give his opinions which he feels are truthful without being personally discredited.

How come you had to attack Olska rather than the BS you are trying to get away with here ?
Lakey

What you say and what you do, uh, do not match.

I seriously doubt anybody but you misses that.

I'm very relieved that you are not quitting ESMB. I appreciate your apology to me but do not feel that any apology is necessary. I apologize for getting you upset. I want you to know that I did not intend that at all but still it happened. I'll try and watch what I say in the future so that nothing like this can happen again.

Sorry that you won't be posting here on this thread. Remember, it is not "Lakey's Thread" anymore. I think the first 20 pages or so are "Lakey's Thread". Starting around November 18, 2009 it became the thread of Carmelo, Lakey and Sweetness and Light. Somewhere in early 2010 it became more than even that.

There are so many people who are creating this thread. It is hard to name names because some people will be left off and may feel slighted. Those that stand out the most with me and have been creating this thread for at least 2 years include Carmelo, Afaceinthecrowd, Ted, Roger B. Mark Baker, FoTi & Leon. Others who were here for a while, helping to build it and have since dropped off are Purple Haze, Blue Spirit,Johnny the Magic Thetan, Heidren Bier, Dull old Fart, Sweetness and Light,Thetanic and Enthetan.

I respect your decision if you don't post here any more. For all you fans, it is easy to find where you are posting on ESMB and go their and read your posts. This isn't the first time that I have caused you to be upset so if I read your posts, I will just use the "thank you" and "like" buttons but will not write a reply for fear of inadvertently getting you upset once more.

Yep, the best people go " FUCK IT " and stop posting on this thread.

The " OP " will keep bumping it endlessly ( outlawed on most boards ) and keep his stats up.

This is some silly shit.

reads here. I think they all wish you to carry on posting here. I certainly do.

message from the front

Even though it's winter, here in the Sierras, I'm wearing my t shirt and flip flops.

At the hot springs, this morning, some Russian emigre, said I looked like a Beatle.

We are away in the mountains and woods, with two 5 year olds, one teen, and the teen’s friend.

There is internet and phone service where we’re skiing, but only limited internet where we’re sleeping. The fucking beams of the fucking log cabin (literally) are 8 inches wide and 18 inches high. No radio signal could hope to penetrate this outpost.

The 5 year olds, in four days, went from never skiing to skiing an intermediate run with an express lift. no problems.

On a particular slope, where their cousin, a dozen years ago, wiped out on a snowboard (with me "tutoring"), had a concussion, and got helicoptered to the trauma center in Reno, I was telling Miles, the more timid of the two, to go serpentine down it, criss crossing, so he didn’t go too fast.

He said, “No! I want to ski down it,” and he pushed off -- straight down. They were both doing 25-35 miles an hour on a very non bunny slope.

Nic’s friend had never skied. Nic taught his friend everything necessary on an easy gradient. By mid day, both of them were exploring the back side, while Nic made videos of his friend.

Nic was 6, when I took him off his first cornices. Two years later, he was the youngest on the ski team.

His younger sister, Tasha, got stranded here with her aunt and me, one Christmas week (the Thailand Tsunami week), when she was 5, winds were 60 mph, snowfall constant for five days. We were “stuck,” and couldn’t get out with both east and west roads closed. We made the best of it. We skied all day, every day. Tash could go flying down black diamond slopes right with us, by the end of the storm.

The weather, here, and across the US west, has been horribly spring like. SUNNY. but for these five year olds, it has been a really nice gradient. Shirt sleeve skiing. Sunny and gentle, no fighting the elements.

We took them dog sledding. They fell asleep.”Mush” had never been more appropriate. Sergeant Preston won’t be hiring these two warriors for the RCMP.

be that as it may

I think aiding one’s children, grand children, and (hopefully, someday) one’s great grand children to MASTER subjects from skiing to tennis to basketball, soccer, horse back riding, and reading, ‘riting, and ‘rithmetic at an early age gives them a head start on the grown up world - where globalization is the operating phrase. It just doesn’t hurt to have areas in your life, that you have absolute confidence in. That confidence is transferrable. The steps taken to mastery, in a general form, are transferrable.

It is easier when you are 2 or 6 to confront new challenges, and win at them (with your family support group), than it is to try, without support, when you’re 50 or 60.

Don't waste those first five years. Pack them full of meaningful learning, mastering experiences, that they can take with them through their lifetime. Don't nail them to the cross of "non responsibility" "fluffy warm bunny" "not my fault" "I will be taken care of" child like innocence.

Best to learn “how” to win at an early age. The more skills, under one's belt, the better.
