It's like your uncle Harry, your mom's older brother, he doesn't always have his ducks in line. Sometimes he pushes the wrong elevator button, gets off at the wrong floor, walks in the wrong apartment, and then people get all excited.

There's a joke my wife and I tell each other:

Moe and Harry are talking in the family room, while their wives are in the kitchen.

Moe tells Harry about the great restaurant he and his wife ate at the other night. "The portions were large, the waiter was quick and polite. My water glass never went empty. It was cheap wine, but delicious. I left a big tip."

Harry wants to know the name of it.

Moe says to Harry,"You know that flower with the thorns?"

Harry replies, "You mean a rose."

"Yeah.

Hey Rose! What's the name of that restaurant we ate at the other night?"

L with alarming frequency attributes what one person posted to another person & then alters it into something NEVER said by anyone & launches into a long explanation of how wrong that is & expounds his postition of how right he is regarding this position he created out of thin air.

Should one dare mention it they should be ready to hear they used " mean words " towards him and attack him and degrade him.

Reality is, at best, I do hope for his sake this is either short term memory loss or a need to get his meds adjusted. Seriously. His condition seems to be getting worse & I do hope someone in contact with him IRL will stop by and check on him.

He is frankly starting to worry me.

I did all of my schooling as a boarder - some of it at an English school where there's nothing much to do in the evenings besides reading or study, and the Conan Doyle books were very popular both in and out of class. We'd take turns reading them out, and they were great fun. Sir Walter Scott, and Joseph Conrad were very popular too. The Sherlock Holmes books were great for communal reading, as there was always a suspenseful moment where they could be left hanging for the following evening. That brings back some nice memories for me.

This is curious. The only Basil I know of connected to Holmes was not a character in the book but an actor Basil Rathbone who played Holmes in a movie or TV version way way back in the 50's or 60's. He was good too.

Even Robert Heinlein managed to include his name in a novel...

In the Conan Doyle novels, Holmes considered Mycroft to be the more intelligent of the two. I think he may have even consulted Mycroft on a few cases.

Not to drag up the drama again but I just want to say that as far as I know Lakey is a gentleman, he always attempts to see the other side of things and to be fair with everyone he deals with, I think if anything that may be his downfall.

Perhaps he cares too much.

Anyway there are fun people on this thread that don't take things too seriously and very few that come on all supercilious and 'tekky' when it suits them.

ESMB needs to stay fun IMO and not turn into a mini org with "execs and ethics officers" skulking about ready to pounce on every perceived 'outpoint'.

Stay being yourself Lakey ... you are absolutely OK as you are (you might want to dump all that tek significance though, it's no good for you at all).

Many thanks for the posts on this subject (some of which I have not thanked, since I read what the ESMB sent me by email).

After reading these and having further thought I have decided to go ahead with the plan to put the Pilot'sReposts on an independent thread.

I have most of the introductory article prepared but lack a title for the thread. The title: Ken Ogger, The Pilot speaks from the dead does not seem too good, since my aim is to repost some of Ken Ogger's thoughts, rather than draw attention to his death - sort of positioning him as a dead pilot. I could use the title The Pilot, Excerpts from his Writing but that seems a bit tame. Since the title is something which lasts the life of the thread, I don't want to be too hasty about it, and therefore am wondering wondering if any one has a better suggestion. Do you? Something which would attract the sort of people who would like to see some positive ideas about Scientology and reforming it.

Mark explained to me (thank you Mark) how I put some one on ignore. It seems a good idea for a spectator, but for the instigator of the thread, it seems like putting one's head in the sand. Not a wise thing.

If you want to position me in your mind, I'd prefer something like "a wise, persistent (in the sense used in Science of Survival) and pigheaded thetan with some purposes to pursue whatever the consequences, running a robust body that has run past its 'use before' date".

Appreciate it if you have a bright idea on the title.

PS. I don't think I will post them here and on its own thread, as suggested, partly because it seems to need double the formatting work. I might refer to it when I post, certainly the first one, but it will be every Wednesday.
