On AOLs homepage on their headline news is the video of Tommy Davis blowing the Nightline interview. It links to an article on Pop Eater which speaks of the Paul Haggis letter and TDs interview blow.

Also my local talk radio station was talking about the letter and DMs abuses.

Great!

I don't want to start a thread with this as a title, as it would be kinda false, but I wonder how soon we'll see the late night talk show hosts (Leno, Letterman, Kimmel etc.) joking about the dog and so forth. I'm not too sure how they could get humour out of a so-called church leader beating his staff. but you never know. :)

Yes, it may be a couple of OSA agents running around from puter to puter and voting in attempt to offset the stats.
What a hilarious visual. :D
And with serious, dramatic expressions on their faces like it's all in the name of saving mankind.

Well, it keeps them busy. Keeps them off the streets hawking
books and personality tests. It is said God works in mysterious
ways..maybe this is one of His mysterious ways?

Fantastic news! I know of two scientologists that are asking questions after the SP times articles. It is building and growing - it's happening.

Were Martin Bashir's questions appropriate? yes 87% , no 13%

Truth to tell Bashir's questions weren't very good. It was a bit like "balloon boy" all over again, although on a much smaller scale. He went for the sensational over the substantive. I'd have much rather heard specific questions concerning patterns of abusive church practices. Fortunately OSA types like TD are buffoons who can be counted upon to screw things up worse than the journalists who interview them.

Unfortunately, it is the pattern in mainstream "news" media at present. It's not worth calling it journalism.

O Tempore! O More! :bigcry:

I thought Bashir was gentle enough. He wanted to provoke Tommy into showing what he was made of. He did. :happydance: Not a very strong character. A whiney ego.... effeminate sometimes. I don't believe he thought he would ever get a straight answer.

The C of S needs to find someone who's Clark Gable smooth, Frank Sinatra cool, Soggie Bottom good ol' boy, and Abe honest.:eyeroll: WAIT!!! That's it!! It's the honesty factor. :duh: Audiences can tell when your spokesperson is not willing to be totally scrutinized from arsehole to appetite. Its that honesty factor that has saved even our most wretched celebrities from the tabloid slaughterhouses. It takes the amunition away. I mean look at Robert Downey Jr. Hugh Grant, Edie Murphy, Mel Gibson etc. Hey, even Roman Polansky could probably get off if he pulled a Bill Clinton sorry. :confused2:

It would be interesting to see a satirical (i.e. legally OK) video on YouTube that *looks* like a CofS job with a smooth, neat guy in a suit answering the questions, a copy/paste job with questions actually asked by real network interviewers, but giving honest answers. And just straight honest answers, without hamming it up or sensationalising it or any added dramatics at all. I could have fun doing that but I'm really busy right now and wouldn't get around to it for a long while.

Too bad they could not film the rush job they got to get out of the Org after Tommy went crying to mommy.
