I remember them both being at St Hill early 1966. He had come over from Canada.
He had a dense beard and looked like Bluto.
He had this old car, either a Ford 8 or an Austin 7. We were crowded into it one day heading for St Hill when going through the cutting at Standen, just before St Hill Green, the rear wheel came off and rolled past us. The weight, being on the left side, allowed the car to stay upright. We caught up with the wheel outside Reg Sharpe's house, got the wheel on and headed for course. We were all marked as late and had an "interview" with the EO.
He had the ability to "set people straight" on a point of view. This, of course, upset the syncophantic crowd of Hubbard worshippers.
He didn't stay that long, I think he had money problems. Last I heard was that he got declared in late 1966/1967.
John was a character, like most of those there at that time.
