So whatcha gonna do when you're headless?![]()
What head?
To me "self-determinism" means, "The ability to determine oneself."
.
Self-determinsim is the ability to decide. We are all still part of the greater that powers the Universe, but each of us can decide how to use the power available to us. Many religions covet such power whilst promising it and failing to deliver (sound familiar?).
After discarding many of the traps of $cn, I have learned "laying on of hands healing" (rouchly self tought) which can achieve some amazing things in a very short time.
When I say I "do" healing, obviously I mean, and internally recognise that the energy used to do so does not come from my body or my thoughts, but is channelled from the higher powers of the Universe. As a sinle little entity on this planet, my power is nought, but the Infinite is out there is I choose to use it.
At the height of my CFS treatment this was so intense that it set other people "tingling", and I knew that every time I said "I did this," I actually meant "I (and the almighty) did this. You can too if you will only open yourself to the possibilities.
To paraphrase Douglas Adams: We no more know our position in the life heirachy than a tea-leaf knows the history of the East-India Company.
Since I haven't posted in a while I thought I'd ease myself back in to ESMB with some light and inconsequential stuff, hence this thread.![]()
Some general thoughts, just spitballin':
Scn may talk of static and thetans but actually explains very little in terms of life, it's origins and the relationships of each life unit (if there is such a thing) to all others. These things must be experienced to be understood.
I don't know what life is (that's why I started the thread) but I suspect that we operate at many "levels" of awareness simultaneously.
Since static has no location (assuming the concept to be valid) one can never actually leave the state, but perhaps one could "project" from it. What is projected from static can, in turn, create its own projections of life units or seemingly separate identities.
Anything that exists is in some sense alive because only life can create new "things" (that's a technical term) whether it be another spirit or a bar of lead. Life can only create itself, albeit in myriad forms.
Perhaps we can have a prize for anyone who can answer the question succinctly without being a wise-ass?![]()
Who's askin'?

The one I'm mocking-up on your shoulders.![]()
Unless that is, you're an axe-wielding dude in a suit?
![]()

I am the perfect effect right here, right now!
Seriously, I expect that you do probably see a head on my shoulders, but I see you and the room on my shoulders!
What do you see on your shoulders, Tansy?
I can't speak for you as to what you find on your shoulders when you really look. But for me I see the room, people, the sky, the stars, the universe, all in wonderful display and motion. The whole of life is sitting here on my shoulders. In the still void that is here there is painted motion and the wonder of life for which I make way!I am the perfect effect right here, right now!
The seer.
I'm sorry, but I see a head. Well, actually, I see a little of two eyebrows, a nose and some moustache hair cos I've been too lazy to shave for a few days.![]()
I wouldn't expect you could speak for anyone, not having a head.![]()
I think I'd like to see what you see (so long as it's there for me).
A visit to headless.org is on my "to do" list but there are a couple of things ahead of it.
Thanks Asagai.

What is so great about losing your head is that, for me at least, it is fun, it is an hilarious irony. A Zen paradox.
Yes! I see that too, I see a sort of fluffy pink cloud that I call my nose, but it isn't like any nose I see out there. I see up above, at the top, two blurs that I call eyebrows, but they don't look like any eyebrows I see out there.
So fantastic! It is starting to look like what you see as your head is similar to what I see as mine!![]()
One thing that is absolutely certain for me, is my "head" is radically different from all those heads out there that I see!
That's a good starting point. So "here" is different from "there." Yet also I see "there" "here" on my shoulders. This is a subtle miracle!
What I thought was "me" is actually "you" and "them" and all of everything! Right here right now!![]()
When you do it Tansy, you will see what you see, not what I see!
This is a reminder about your to-do list and a message for anyone who is interested in what life is!![]()
Every person is unique in that they have a unique viewpoint, and have a unique ability of shifting from one identity to another, or of dissolving one's identity, or of mocking an identity up.
.
I wonder if every person is carrying this miracle called life on their shoulders? If they are then what exactly is a "person", what exactly is "unique"?
The points from which things have been viewed, taken in total, are unique, although there is enough similarity that "people are people".
Life is life, people are people, but there are differentiators, too.
a. Life is what happens when you've made other plans.
b. Life is a sexually transmitted disease.
