'Del Rio' to be first project; UTA inks helmer Samuell

Longtime commercials helmer Dror Soref has partnered with millionaire motivational speaker Grant Cardone to form Skyline Pictures.

Skyline’s first project is a thriller called “Del Rio,” set to begin lensing in December with an $8 million budget. Pic is being financed with German and British film funds, as well as an equity investment by Cardone that amounts to about a third of the overall negative cost. Five-year pact calls for the shingle to make two pics a year.
Penned by Soref and Tomas Romero, “Del Rio” centers on a kidnapping that uncovers long-kept secrets that threaten to destroy a Latino family living in a Texas border town.
