Thanks for those inks. A good read. I have been familiar with the Memory palace system for a while. Shkespeare always used it - apparently he got his actors to link the memorized lines to the different stage-entrances they would take and what they would see in the auditorium beofre them. Worked for him. Also Giordano Bruno was burnt on the stake for espousing these Hermetic ideas of memory palaces.
My view of it is sort of that it seems it would be workable for remembering a plays lines or the knowledge needed to pass a history exam but how do I use it to remember where I left my car keys or what so and so's name is or that the concert begins at 2.00 pm and not 3.00 pm? - as I found out yesterday.
And further - the memory I had and used all my life did not rely on systems like this - I just remembered what I wanted. Wasn't any syste needed at all. So how do I get that kind of memory back - that's what I want to know.
One thing I found out many years ago - when I need to remember something verbatim and I'm going to be reciting it later on, then I learn it in the body position and flow direction that I will be using when relaying it. So if I will be reciting them out loud then I say them out loud all the time when I'm learning them, with a mocked up audience in front of me. Or if its for a written paper then I learn it by writing it as though I'm writing the exam paper right there. This always worked for me.
And I often noticed that guys who tried to learn things verbatim for reciting by just inflowing it all silently into their heads over and over were never very good when it came to reciting it.

. Your bitchy wife or your angst filled teenage son need a certain 'result' in order to quit the frustration or passive aggression. Same goes with straining for karmic justice. But when we call the fire dept or the ambulance or need a court judge or a rescue plane to get us out of burning Yosemite we HOPE those individuals will be fair and BIGGER than their issues. The Golden Rule.....
