Re: The old days - Aboard the Apollo - 1973
This is true insofar as it refers to the way Objectives have been run (and still are) in the CofS. This is what they taught. And drilled. Into their students.
But it is NOT the way these processes ought to be run. Two-way comm should be free and flowing back and forth all the time. At no time EVER should the pc be allowed to go out of PT or sink into his bank. At the first indication of this the auditor should intervene and with TWC get him back into PT again.
The purpose of the process - or rather, the mechanism of it, the way it works when done properly, is to get the preclear to distinguish clearly in his own conscious mind between acting "on automatic" and acting in obedience to his own "will" and "intent". He is not to respond to the auditor's command by "obeying" them. This would make him a robot, which we don't want. He hears the instruction or question - takes it on as his own, and then on his own determinism does it/answers it. Refer also to the later CCH of "You decide when to touch it and then touch it" etc.
With the TWC - when the pc answers "yes" to "You look at that wall" the auditor can, and regularly should, ask something like "What do you see there? Describe it". When having walked over to it, the auditor could ask "Did you walk the body or did it just walk by itself because you wanted it to?" and then, if appropriate, take him back to where he started and have him actually walk the body across the room.
Be very sure that it is him, thetan, making the body walk, and touch and so on. Never ever allow even a single command be followed circuitwise by the preclear.
And so on.
And it does not take long before the guy is exterior and blowing his bank in grand style. Preclears love it when the processes are run this way. Cog after cog after cog and VVVGIs after session regularly.
And this is not Leonology. It is pure L Ron Hubbard himself, from the lecture The Importance of Two Way Comm during Op Pro By Dup from late 1954. And do please notice - it is the IMPORTANCE of two way comm - so important in fact that it has not ever featured on any objectives checksheet that I have ever seen.
