Yes. I (and a lot of musicians I know) have done that blind test were you compare different versions of the same music recorded at 432 vs 440. I've never known anyone to pass it (ie. guess which ones are which) on the "which version sounds best to you" test.

Reluctantly, I will have to agree, I always get over 50% right but don't usually get 100%
You know that topic is really not all that important. With all the crap going on in the world, WTF is the big deal about putting down 432 music. I'm more woried about Maria Cuervo, man, she was an extremely good poster really causing my stats to rise and now she is acting weird .

To make it even worse, I find out that our stats are not real and they are overstated because Hakers are trying to hack our thread. When it rains, it pours, bad new from all departments. Is this all really worth it?

I just don't believe it my star poster and most loyal poster leaving here to go hang out with "Trouble". Murhpy's law in action, the story of my life.

A smaller size compliment, oh , well then, that makes more sense. I mean you really do deserve a good size compliment but I don't want to overwhelm your fragile and sensitive mind. How about I compliment the recipe which you gave to Gizmo. I haven't made that myself but I would like to compliment you for sending him that recipe. How about a cleansing diet, I think a lot of people around here who are against me are full of fit. Maybe if you could write up a good cleansing diet I would give you an even smaller compliment.

What ever it takes to get me back in your good graces, let me know what I have to do. Is this small compliment sufficient?

PS: I forgot to tell you that I am home and just finished a a whole bottle of Merlot. You'll have to excuse me for being incoherent.

It's probably more that the thread is on its death bed. You know as does everyone else that I live for stats, especially the stats on this thread. I thought we had over 2 million hits. Come on, give me a break, Moderator 3 tells the the stat is a chimera, a fake illusion and most of these 2 million post are not real posts. 22,400 replies, also no big deal- between CO2 and me, we posted about 1/2 of those ourselves. I'm like Obama with Obama Care, I thought my legacy was secured and now I find out that I have no legacy, it was all an illusion created by Hackers.

I'm only human, of course I am upset. Fighting all those battles with detractors over stats that weren't even true. Fighting over fake stats, losing good friends over fake stats. Of course I'm upset. Any rational person would be upset if this happened to them.

Not all are.

I've spent a lot of time word clearing those of foreign languages
and those of poor education. One of the former became class VIII.
One of the latter despite all parameters of staff qual not being met
ended up in the SO and clear and very happy. [circa 1983]

The greater skill one has at words and language the more cause
one can be over ones life.

He said that on OT 2 as language changed one may choose words[ probably
end words] that gave most reads.

Well, what can I say? Why become so caught up in the whole thing? It's not real life, it's pixels on a screen. Why be upset over an artificial reality? People (good people) tried many times on this thread to redirect your attention away from that stat-oriented adopted reality and onto the things that really matter. You chose to treat them as detractors and enemies. Wake up, mate. Count your real friends and revel in your real life, not this vicarious reality.

You sent it, he received your recipe and told you that he made it and liked it. No one else complimented you on how good the recipe came out. You might just as well have PMed it to Gizmo. he is the only one who responded and actually made the recipe.

You know, they say that where there's smoke there must be fire. I really don/t know if that is true or not, its none of my business. I was just saying....just kind of putting two plus two together and everyone knows that I am smarter than the average bear when it comes to math....... I'm just saying, just taking this all in.

You know Panda, I am a little giddy and just kind of kidding around a little bit with some of this stuff but you wrote me a very touching and thoughtful post. Okay, Okay, the Merlot is wearing off now and Panda's communication to me really impressed me and lifted my spirits and now you chime in Marina with some nice and helpful communication as well. I had kind of lost it there for a while crying in my beer. The phone stats, the attacks and then you seeming to be angry with me, all combined to get to me. I turned to a Bottle of wine and drank the whole thing. No Panda beautiful post and your kind words are bringing me to my senses and I am ready to go to bed. What about you Maria, it is 4:15 AM where you live and you are still on ESMB. You had better get to sleep, it seems to me.

The A = something other than 440 was the way conductors tuned their orchestra to the hall by ear in the days before ubiquitous EQ. MrNobody is exactly right in that it matters little except locally and the important thing is for everyone to be in tune. I was watching a video by a guitar teacher named Scott Groves who insisted we were all tuning our guitars wrong. He gave instruction on how to tune using a chromatic tuner by continuing to strike the low strings as you tune rather than to let the notes decay, as they go flat as they decay. Then (and this was the shocker) he said to fret the G# on the third string and tune it 15 cents flat. I tried it his way and then struck a chord. Wowfuckingwow. Soooooo pretty and full. I don't really understand it but it has to do with the inherent scale length problems on thick vs thin strings.

When I have no Digi-tuner, I just grab an A from wherever I can get one (usually the piano) and then use the harmonic resonance method.

Anecdote time:
Our new saxophonist (awesome guy, extremely skilled and talented, had even worked with Elvis in his younger days) had never seen me without my tuner before - so he believed I needed that thing. Then, one day, while setting up for a gig, I opened my case and: "Damn, my tuner's at home in the other case". E-piano wasn't wired yet, but our guitarist was already wired, tuned and ready to go. So I said: "Hey man, I forgot my tuner, so please gimme an A." Less than a minute later, my bass was perfectly in tune. The Saxophonist had watched me in amazement the whole time, since he's never seen me use this method before and I gained a whole new level of respect from him because I knew how to use this super-precise tuning method.

Harmonic resonance tuning can easily compete with electronic tuners or even outrank 'em. I love that method, but in a loud and hectic environment, I still prefer the digi-tuners.

I scrolled back to see where Trouble may have upset Lakey or said something less than nice. I did not see anything offensive or mean. Although, yes, by his/her remark encouraging me to post on other threads as well: all I saw was the joke to me about graduating from the thread. (Not addressed to Lakey.) In my reply, by emeritus I only meant honored retired professor... and since I was retired, i.e., did not post for a few days, it fit. An emeritus is appointed for life to that honorable title. I feel I am a life member here, so I replied that way.
