What's new

For the Rathbun "Believers"

The freezone aka Independent Field or whatever else it's called these days, is little more than a retirement home for people holding on to a vision of Hubbard's cult which only existed in their minds. It's not like Hubbard's dated 1950s hypnosis con game is attracting any new blood, and if it is, it's only attracting them to be entertained by it in a freak show kind of way by it. An open Scientology is a non-existent Scientology. Marty is just looking to land a few suckers with fat wallets to jack off for a living. He tried functioning in the real world after he left the cult and it became painfully obvious he has no skills of value except for playing cult with Hubbard's cheesy cult tech.

I'm torn.

On the one hand I completely agree with you but then I give some hope that some day Marty will snap out of it and come to his senses like so many others have done.

I don't know if Marty is willing or able to shed his Scn indoctrination. Some people are just so damaged that there is no way out of that trap for them. Others fight and claw their way out of the indoctrination and try to put things right. After 27 years of being a full fledged, die hard, kick in the teeth, brainwashed numb nut, I never give up on another finally waking up and setting things right.

Marty is doing some good things by exposing information on DM and doing it in such a way that those still in will take a look and read it. Once that little crack in the Scn facade occurs, people are more likely to continue reading and having that same experience many of us have had, and that's going to more critical websites and getting correct information and finally waking up to it all. Marty may never be able to do that, but his actions right now, are causing others to wake up and leave, and for me, that's a good thing.

Yes he may be useful in getting rid of Dm - possibly. Yes be pragmatic, But understand that "..sort the rest out later" may mean dealing with the COS as it is now, with MR pulling the strings - using all of his beloved leaders policies. And he may do it in a more secretive way than it is done currently. Be careful about what you want. You may get it. In this case that means keeping eyes open. Our dear little pitbull may bite the hands that feed it.
It has already shown that it only approves scientologists - not exes.

I agree DB. We should be careful what we wish for. M & M are smarter, more likeable, more trained, better looking and taller than DM and could very well do a much better job of hiding the truth and continuing the scam.

"Be careful what you wish for" came from "The Tale of the Monkey's Paw", a classic horror story W.W. Jacobs,, first appearing in Harpers Monthly in 1902. The story begins with a quotation "Be careful what you wish for, you may receive it". The full short story is here (and seems a good parable for the 3M's): http://www.americanliterature.com/Jacobs/SS/TheMonkeysPaw.html#

Look at how Marty has treated Gerry Armstrong who took him up on his offer of "help" and who's case M&M were directly involved in as an example. Gerry's letters in this thread: http://ocmb.xenu.net/ocmb/viewtopic.php?t=31106&postorder=asc

Rathbun and Rinders names are all over court documents in fair game cases. Lot's lives were ruined both inside and outside the cult, and I am sure that for every victim who stood up there are hundreds who were shuddered into silence or paid off.

These 2 and Mariette (the 3Ms) know the truth and they aren't telling it.

Marty is a bottom feeder who needs to do a hell of a lot more "moving on up a little higher" in order to just get back above ground. He could have easily been helping to expose and stop the abuses for a few years now, instead he is making excuses for Hubbard's abusive policies and carefully doing everything possible to shelter Hubbard and his abusive cult.

Make no mistake about it, Marty is open for business and all Marty is doing is targeting wealthy suckers who are tired of getting shaken down by Miscavige and trying to suck them over to "whatever it is he is calling his brand of cultism" .

Miscavige is the freezone's Xenu and Marty is playing it up for all it's worth. Don't get me wrong, I want to see Miscavige go to prison just like the next guy, but unfortunately it looks like Marty has no intention of helping to make this happen since he would be taken away in handcuffs right along with him. Marty would rather focus on talking about who audited Tom Cruise and who Miscavige is playing "grab ass" with, than help those who he directly assisted in abusing

He posts all my comments on his blog. And I am very open about what and who I am.

He posts links to Arnie Lerma's site and Jesse Prince videos.

He has said to me that there should be no idea that a Scientologist should not be able to look at.

As long as he is doing that, I do not care what his religious beliefs are.

I do a very sparse job of keeping up with anything Mr. Rathbun is doing. So I appreciate your input.

did you acctually read the thread about Gerry Armstrong's communication with rathbun?

This is the future you think looks good?

jeezus.

Mick,
I don't know Marty Rathurn or Gerry Armstrong from a bar of soap

I was merely commenting on the quote:
"his actions right now, are causing others to wake up and leave"

Yes I think
"The beginning of the future is looking real good"

I'm curious does anyone actually know anyone who left because of his actions? Or is everyone just supposed to blindly believe his actions have caused people to leave?

You are pushing the "freedom of religion" thing again? Scientology is not and has never been a religion. That's just the excuse for covering up human rights abuses and crimes.

It's good that he posts the odd link to other sites. I see it more as a token towards free speech, a tiny crack in the door. At that rate it will take more decades for the truth to be widely known.

You know I doubt there is any current scientologist, except perhaps the very newly recruited, who does not know deep in their heart that something is terribly wrong. The problem is not knowing what to do about it!

Well the only way to release those bonds is for ALL of the truth to be known, the truth of the crimes, once and for all. That is the biggest wake-up call ever and then picking up the pieces and coming to terms with it can start.

Zinj says: "Marty (and Mike) are only of interest to me because they were integral actors in the crimes of Scientology. They are intimately familiar with them because they both followed and originated orders to commit those crimes. By speaking truthfully, they could take the single greatest step towards stopping the ongoing horror of Scientology."

And I totally agree.

apart from good thoughts and wishful thinking Pooks - what on earth do you have as proof of this?

For years and years I have heard many assertions like yours about how things should work - yet no-one has ever posted anything to back those assertions.

it usually comes up when people are busy criticizing critics for being too rough, too nasty and how saying outrageous things about the CofS and how it works puts those in the CofS who might leave, off.

Pooks - how are the people who are IN going to get to Marty's words of wisdom?

How many people in the cofs even recognize the name?

98% of the people on this message board were once loyal members of the Church of Scientology, Mick.

Probably only 1 or 2 of them had ever heard of Emma.

Or is everyone just supposed to blindly believe his actions have caused people to leave?

That’s a misinterpretation of my post.
(please be aware, I have never been a scio, so hold no opinion on Martys integrity or intentions)

If any current Scio is surfing the net and thinking of getting out,
and collectively read some of the things exposed by Marty
or anyone else for that matter, it’s going to give them good food for thought.

FTS, I agree with you on this (above) but for Marty to post a link to Arnie Lerma's site is more than a small token (in my opinion) and Lerma's site links to a whole bunch of great sites: http://www.lermanet.com/links/index.html
One of the links "Secret Scientology Library - What they don't want you to read" has some great stuff in it.

OK - so you have never been a scientologist?

Are you aware of the simple facts -

a) Scientologists do not surf the web - and they do not surf the web looking for information about Scientology
b) if they accidentally land on a site that criticizes scientologu ALL that they will do is write a KR about it.

They dont collectively read anything that is critical.

Most do not surf the net at all.

I know of 5 who started looking because of reading Marty's blog and have left, 3 others who are in the process of leaving, taking it slow because of family.
He was an opinion leader to a lot of public, I think more so than to staff.

I've heard from several people that they were most shocked by Mike Rinder and Marty speaking out, which is what made them start believing something was seriously wrong within the C of S.

Burt no-one is claiming that Emnma being against Scientology si going to get people out.

emma runs a site that allows OTHERS to discuss Scientology.

Sorry Alanzio - I respect you immensely and I very much enjoy your writing - but you are hitching your wagon to a pissant with the moral courage of an amoeba.
