This is great news! I wonder how they will spin this to their parishioners. Maybe they will say that it was a mistake, the police meant to raid the Catholics and go the wrong church. ha ha ha...

Well, I think Alanzo hit the provberbial nail. All governments on the planet now has ample reason to raid...

And guess what.. Scientology thinks so too! - Right now they'll be shredding stuff like maniacs in every single department of the cult. If they're like I recall from the GO that sort of thing happens fast, allhands and nobody leaves the place before it's done... The complete chaos from all the missing documents is tomorrows emergency.

Anyone watching the orgs? - My guess is that they'll need trucks to drive away the shredded paper.

Hmm.. Where is the backup docs? - The vaults? - Trementina, Tolumne?

Bravo to the Italian police! Now the world is getting a really good look at the cult's underbelly.

Perhaps the cult will now restrain itself to some degree in its fairgaming of Maria now that their tactics are under scrutiny. I hope so especially in light of a couple of terroristic things she told me she had experienced which the police were investigating. :no:

IANAL, but I doubt it. Certainly not based on the report cited.

There is nothing illegal about possessing "files" or keeping them in a "secret archive", whatever that means. Possession of files relating to government individuals or non-scientologists need not violate any public statute in and of themselves. What could be a point of transgression is the CONTENTS of such files. But, excepting the changes made to due process by that monstrosity known as the PATRIOT Act which is supposed to apply only with regard to "terrorist" activity, probable cause to justify a search must be shown PRIOR to the issuance of a valid warrant.

Whatever you may believe is in the Co$ files, government investigators would be required to demonstrate a valid reason for access before they would be allowed by a court to seize them.

Edit: Alanzo, thank you for that showbiz style setup...also Tinklenberg was wearing his Sea Org Petty Officers uniform..

When we were picketing down there in 1997 or 8 (Perhaps a dozen of us at the peak, 50 or more clams around us..) at one point scientologists came out of the Ft Harrison and counter picketed, surrounding our pickets so that passers by might not see our signs as much.
A man came out that I knew when I was in, named Tinklenberg... he was a tall blond nordic type... and he, a guy I once worked with at USLO PAC in 1971...became my handler.
He was asking me to state what scientology would have to give to me to STFU and leave them alone.

The scientologists crowded around... directly in front was this handsome young blonde tart.. maybe 15 or 16 years old? Not Legal... anyway the tart kept stopping short... and I would almost walk into her from behind... so I had to keep one eye upon her posterior..to keep from bumping into her...

Richard! maybe Jeff.. Tinklenberg, leaned over to my left ear and said..

"Is that what you want? Is that what it would take? THAT CAN BE ARRANGED"

I went blank at this point unable to conceive that I had just heard the offer I was just told. I told Jeff Jacobsen about it and some others at dinner that night.

Another guy, an ex OSA guy, contacted me after reading the above and gave me that girls name, said, "Both her parents are OT8, and she has been used in the past by this "church" (spit) to entrap political opponents who refused to cooperate with $cientology.

My mom was once HCO E/S of FCDC Fnd in late 60's... her last words to me about scientology before she died in 2000, are worth quoting:

Maybe the Church should have headed then off at the pass and raided the police stations and confiscated the "specific complaints" and documentation regarding the "associated investigations".
