Wouldn't dream of it. Frankly, I resent the hubris of those christians who undertake such a presumption. It's as bad as having them bleating "i'll pray for you" as some sort of sign of their religious charity. The fact of their annoyance at having their public displays of "christian love & charity" rejected is a further sign of the martyr complex which underlies paul of tarsus' bastardization of the religion of the hebrews.

I usually say that I'll pray for anyone's conversion that prays for mine, so they should consider whether or not they genuinely wish to pray for me. ;)

I told all I know on the Apollo 1973

Lakey wrote;

Maybe,we need a new thread, the Apollo in 1967?

You sure have covered a lot of stuff, and I have enjoyed reading most of it.

Sharone - I told everything I could about my experience on the Apollo in late 1973. The original thread got only 2200 views but there were 45 replies. I was only on board a little over two months. Actually I was at CC LA for nearly 3 1/2 years before leaving for the Apollo but I decided to tell the Apollo story first. I was a newbie in Feb, 2009 and thought the Apollo title would attract more interest than the CCLA title so I led off with the Apollo story.

By all rights, my story should have ended around late Octorber or the beginning of November 2009 when the CCLA story was done being told. We. Carmelo and I, decided to keep the thread going. We looked at starting a brand new thread with a more appropriate name but we thought we had built up some loyal followers and that we would have more action if we kept the original name and built on that.

Once we decided to press on, every decision we made has worked out better than we expected. One can only conclude that their is a demand for a thread such as this which tries hard to strip away the bullshit and give honest truths without an agenda. Also, we have not attracted the bashers, four letter word slingers and toilet humor advocates. One knows when he or she comes here that they are getting straight information and not somebodies agenda or PROMO.

I think that since Face showed up, with have brought back the old Apollo 1973 portion of the thread. Face was right there working with Ron and Mary Sue and gave information that only such person would know.

As far as an Apollo 1967 thread, I know there are already such stories on ESMB and also other places. Dart Smohen's story covers from 1967 on quite thoroughly. The Kima Douglas story, not on ESMB but all over the Internet, covers life on the Apollo perhaps from 1970 on. Mike Goldstein was onboard in 1973 and has mentioned some going's on. The Otto Roos story covers the ships from their earliest days and has one of the best in depth looks at LRH ever written. If you haven't read his story, it is an absolute must!!! Purple Haze who has posted here was onboard in the late 1960's and I was told much of that story in person. Hanna Eltingham was a key exec onboard various ships in the late 60's and fully tells her story both in print and on video. Also Captain Bill Robertson tells portions of his story. There is so much out there concerning life on the Apollo and the earlier ships. Just Google the Apollo ship and there is much to read which it sounds like you are not aware of.

I am happy that you have read and enjoyed most of our stuff.

Leon and Vin,

It is interesting to hear your points of view on Roger's activities and priorities. I like the meaty stuff too but I know nothing about Knowledgism at all and in Vedic religions, I am also a neophyte. Most of what I know, I learned on Vin's Oh!God!! thread although I did meditate regularly for 3 years from ages 27 to 30 after I took a UCLA Evening Extension Class in Buddhism.

In Scientology training, I know that Leon is much more highly trained than I am although I am a Class IV Auditor, uninterned and an Interned NED auditor. I admire both of you guys and Roger as well. I wish I could get in there and mix it up with you guys but I don't have the background to do so. I don't want to do what my old friend Finishedman did on Vin's thread and that was to pretend great knowledge when he knew almost nothing and just made a fool out of himself.

Just one more point to Vin since he is new on this thread. The thread just started out as a story of my experience on the Apollo and earlier at CCLA as a Sea Org Member. The Apollo story ran in February and March of 2009 and the CCLA story ran in October and Nevember. The Apollo story got 2200 hits and ended and the CCLA story got 4500 more and ended. I was going to close up shop right there when I was encouraged to go on by Sweetness and Light. She said I had more to say and was still evolving as a being. I kept going for a couple of weeks when Carmelo showed up and he and I dialogued and decided a premium type of thread where intelligent topics were discussed without a lot of bashing and name calling was needed and we should produce such a thread. We have done everything on this thread, everything except talk much about life on the Apollo in 1973, the title of the thread.

Face rectified that irregularity and returned discussions to Hubbard and life on the Apollo in the old days. In the meantime we have discussed about everyting under the Sun and done so in a very professional manner. We have some very gifted writers posting on this thread. Nothing is off bounds as far as I am concerned as long as it is in good taste.

Some creatiion of the Universe theories led to me and Face to having a dialogue on Mike Goldstein's Idenics thread a few days ago and I decided to bring the topic over to this thread. I am glad I did, first Roger, Leon, Face and I were dialoging and now Vinaire is weighing in. We can keep this topic going and should do so because the topic is one things which all spiritual beings have in common. It concerns us all.

In the meantime, I would like Face to keep doing his fascinating Reader's Digest type of reporting on Hubbard and Mary Sue and company and Carmelo should do his type of reporting in his very distinct and high tech style. We have the readers and posters to keep more than one major topic going at the same time.

A note to Roger - I would like to find out more about what is going on down in Oz with Nick Xenophon's investigation. I just know there is an investigation going on and Xenophon is going after C of S for human rights abuses. I know some ESMB members are helping out by testifying, etc. That is all I know but it would be good to be referred to where to learn more or to even discuss it here.

With all that said, it is now midnight in California and I'm am going to hit the sack.

Well Lakey, you should scoot over to the other side of ESMB and have a look see . . . you see, you have particular experience that the Ozzie Senate can benefit from hearing about in the context of should organizations claiming charitable tax exempt status be subject to a "Public Benefit Test" . . . . . did you have any views and input on that? Did you see any public benefit from the conduct of affairs by the CofS? Any liability or burden upon the public good?

Should they thus be supported and given special privilege at the expense of the rest of we tax payers? :)

Ergo Ego's

:)
Please don't take me wrong. :)

Roger's ego is a wonderful thing to study. I don't hate or dislike anything about it. It is just what it is.

I am sure there is my ego too. I am working on cutting it down to its elements. I am sure there is a lot that others can criticize about my ego.

It is good to be aware of one's ego, and not try to not-is it.

.

This is all very confusing to me.:confused2:

First you reveal that Rog has an ego and then that you, too, has an ego.:melodramatic:

As I’m not capable of the depth of complex thought, logic and insight as you, Rog and so many others here posses (I sincerely mean that and that, in part, is why I read what you guys are willing to share), I’m left to wander and wonder around trying to find simplistic metaphors, similes, parables, and analogies to help me understand the Tao of the Chaos of Living.

I guess maybe ego’s are like assholes…everyone’s got one. Actually assholes are a very good thing, in my way of thinking, as just ponder what living would be like if you or I didn’t have an asshole. We’d all be so “stoved-up” with crap.

Personally, I have a kinda Love/Hate relationship with my asshole. Man, sometimes there’s nothing better than to take a big crap. Other times my asshole gets dirty, stinks and, well, is just a royal pain in the ass. And, whether I like it or not, I’ve got to spend a certain amount of time takin’ care of my asshole. I try and eat a good diet, keep it clean and not play with it…stuff like that. :)

I keep my asshole covered up when I go out in public so that others don’t have to experience it and I crap, as much as possible, in private and the proper receptacle. I’m not all that proud of my asshole but I'm not embarressed, most of the time, about it either…it’s just a part of living and, like ego’s, apparently everyone’s got one.

I even get my asshole examined periodically because I’m not able or qualified to examine it myself. I suppose most others are like me, have an asshole and, knowing what I go through with—and what goes through—mine, I just kinda never think too much about others havin’ an asshole either. Now I fart and sometimes I fart, unexpectedly or necessarily, in public. When that happens, depending on the circumstances, I’m usually embarrassed but also relieved that I got the pressure released. Sometimes it’s loud and sometimes it also smells but, ya know, I guess we all go through that sometimes—it’s just part of living. Because of living with my own personal asshole, I don’t feel right pointing fingers at others when they fart in public—unless they’re doing it to be rude or attract attention.:coolwink:

As long as I’m talking this openly about my relationship with my asshole, I’d like to comment on another thing I find interesting about mine. When I crap and fart it never smells as bad to me as it does to others. Fortunately, I learned at a young age to crap and fart in private, as much as possible.

Gosh, writing all this stuff about my asshole brought to mind a little story from my childhood having to do with Assholes.

My Paternal Grandfather was as fine a man as ever drew breath. When he passed away at the age of 93 folks came from far and wide to celebrate the life of a man known for his deeds. Little acts of kindness and decency—like walking in snowshoes 15 miles at night trough a blizzard to be at the side of and pray with a dying hermit Shepard.

One day Little Face and Grampa were out picking sweet corn in his garden.

“Grampa, why did God create Assholes?" Asked Little Face.

“Oh,” chuckled Grampa, “that’s a very good question, Little Face. Assholes are one of the most important things in all God’s Creation.”

“Well, Grampa, I sure don’t think so.”

“Well, just you remember this as you go through life, Little Face; God, in His Infinite Wisdom, created Assholes so that you will know who the good guys are.”

Peace be with you, Vin, and your ego…and all of you my friends, and your egos...and all of God's Little Assholes out there, too, where ever they are.

Face:)

Thank you, Face, for your lovely essay about ass holes; but I am afraid ego is something different.

Ego has to do with "I", "Me" and "Mine." It addresses one's individuality at the spiritual level, one's identity at the mental level, and one's body at the physical level. When you say "my ass hole" then ego has more to do with "my" than with "ass hole."

Ego comes to attention more and more as it is given importance. Thus, self-importance is a notable characteristic of ego. I think, that characteristic came to my attention when I commented on it with respect to Roger. It is just what it is. It is neither to be despised nor to be admired. It simply needs to be recognized for what it is.

When one says, "I am too busy to answer your question," or "Your question is not important, and it is just a waste of time for me," then the ego stands out. The person is basically intimating that "I" am more important than your concern.

The reason that I jumped in here is because Roger has used the same device to avoid answering my questions. At that time it was not this Australian inquiry, but it was something else. One can always make up a reason when one does not want to answer question. I would prefer if one is sincere in one's communication.

Basically, ego has to do with "self." Everybody has self; so everybody has ego. But some do not care about it, and some give it too much importance. So, there are different ways for putting one's ego out there.

Some ways are pleasant and others may not be so pleasant. But, then, one's opinion figures a lot in it too.

In my opinion one should be sincere in one's communication and need not bring one's ego into it to show how important one is and how unimportant the other person's concern is.

That was not the point of my post.

I fully understand this is your thread. Have fun with your thread.

.

Vin, that was not the point of my post at all. I started the thread but long ago it ceased being my thread. Carmelo and I host it together but beyond that, the thread belongs to the people who post here on a regular basis. They, along with Carmelo and I are all creating it.

I just mentioned what I did because I was a little concerned that the thread could shift over to concentrating on mainly just Theories of the Universe topics. If we go strongly in that direction I think we will lose a lot of our current readers and exchange them for the Theories of the Universe group which you had on Oh!God!! That group might just reassemble over here.

The point I was trying to make was to encourage you to keep posting your normal topics on this thread but just be aware that there will be other, less meaty topics discussed here at the same time. Don't worry, you will get plenty of responses on your topics, believe me, I have no doubt of that!

I wanted you to know that there there will be other topics going on simultaneously, that is all I was saying.

As far as this being my thread, I don't have a big ego and even if I did, claiming to rule over a thread on ESMB is not such a big achievment. If that is the biggest thing a person has acheived in life, he or she has not done much living. I do have some pride in starting it and linking up with a lot of top people, yourself included, and I am very proud of writing the Origin of CCLA Story because in the C of S magaizines DM was starting to take some of the credit for starting CC International and I wanted to get the truth out as to how that Org really started and who was responsible.

It started as my thread but IT IS NOT MY THREAD ANY LONGER. It belongs to a couple of dozen people who helped create it. Those who are among those dozens know who they are!

Rog

I realized maybe 5 years ago that C of S should not have tax exempt status. There were times when there could have been public benefit from the conduct of affairs by C of S personnel; each time this occurred, C of S would ruin a potential good effect which they were creating by insisting on 3 things being done:
1. Forcing the beneficiary of their help to do something which had a stat connected with it.
2. Forcing a success story of out the beneficiary of their help.
3. Sending the beneficiary of their help to the registrar to have them hard regged to purchase more services.

You would get notices all the time. Lecture on "How to Make Money", "How to create your Second Dynamic.", "How to Get Your Kids to Study". You would go to the lecture. The speaker was Class XII, FEBC, Super Power, Clear Theta Clear or some impressive title such as that.

The lecture would start and the speaker would be very good and the audience was winning until the speech was over and the stat gathering and regging began. Any benefits to the public were quickly ruined by crush regging and insistant efforts to staticize the person and bleed more stats out of him. AFTER ATTENDING SEVERAL SUCH LECTURES, I QUICKLY REALIZED THAT ALL LECTURES, IN FACT ALL OUTFLOW MADE BY C OF S ALWAYS HAD THE ULTERIOR MOTIVE OF RAISING STATS AND GETTING IN MORE MONEY, MUCH MORE MONEY, MONEY BEYOND WHAT THE PERSON COULD ACTUALLY AFFORD.

I feel strongly that C of S should not receive a tax exempt status. It acts as a susidy by the governments which keeps C of S going in spite of their poor business model (Green on White Tech). Without the tax exemptions, I do not think the C of S could operate more than a few months before they would be out of business due to lack of funding.

So I am willing to share this information with anyone in Australia who is interested in hearing this. Who do I contact, what is my next step. I will join the battle. Somebody please contact me so that I can help!

OK, Lakey . . . . good! We have excited some important info out of you. The info you have just expressed is important.

You are being contacted as you asked . . . . the answer to your question and your next step is to check the titles of the posts on this board . . . and therein you'll see one (actually several) on how to make submissions to the current Senate Committee Inquiry . . . . I am deliberately not doing your work for you, you'll notice :D Look at the board and its important postings for yourself . . . . there is life beyond the Apollo-1973:D

IDIOTS!

There is an over one thousand acre nature preserve near my house. It was purchased by a rich woman and her husband a long time ago. When they were alive, they set up trails, had stables for use by horse owners, summer camps, goats, organic gardening, many other community cherished activities. Since they have both been dead a decade or so, the board of directors, in charge of continuing the good deeds has gotten rid of the horses and drastically cut back on use in general. Their most recent activity was an attempt to rezone over 200 acres, so that 200 houses could be built. Acreage in our area is worth over a million an acre. It seems that the board has gone out of their way to become the opp term of what the creators of the area had conceived and created in their lifetimes.

In our little city, there was a huge beautiful old tree in the town center that was cut down some ten years ago, so that the Kiwanis Club could plant a new tree that they could put their plaque on saying they planted the tree. I'm not making this up. The tree they planted died within a couple of years. We now have a cement planter box with a plaque stating that this tree was planted by the Kiwanis Club in the center of our downtown. Of course, there is no tree in it.

Last year a guy, who spent most of his adult life researching and working with spiritual matters, and had a little organization to further others' assimilation of his knowledge, kicked the bucket. Last week, the two people, who inherited the control of his group and property, gave pink slips to a couple of people (old farts), who were around and contributing 15 years ago. -- Long before the new bosses ever even heard of the subject or the group.

Whether all the ethics stuff of Scientology is true or not, I'm not about to assert. I will say that "power change" rings true for me.

There seems to be a selfish desire to not do what is right, but do that which will mark a territory, location, or organization as "MINE" -- because I know better, am smarter, better than the person or people that came before.
A four letter word starting with "F" and ending with "K", followed by the word, "'em" comes to mind.

This is a really good description of ego attachment...I can relate to defending the nature park from those who would "manage" it into oblivion...:eyeroll:

Regarding the poor historic tree, now killed, remember that song: "ya take paradise...put up a parking lot?" :omg:

I will be DAMNED if I let them put up a tree museum anywhere near me on my watch here on earth! :grouch: That's for the record!!!

Feel free to pray for me anytime!

I usually say that I'll pray for anyone's conversion that prays for mine, so they should consider whether or not they genuinely wish to pray for me. ;)

I would just like to state for the record that I readily accept any and all prayers on my behalf, in any religious tradition, belief system, or tongue...(even speaking in tongues! :D) I truly appreciate anybody that has my best interests and concern for my well being at heart. Thank you in advance, people and spiritual team mates! :) I am VERY grateful for all the goodness in my life!

(I have days...where I need all the help I can get, even from unseen hands! :happydance:)

More stories, please!

Winston Smith

Flunked Scientology
Speaking of original intent gone horribly wrong, just about every great foundation set up by the likes of Henry Ford, John Rockefeller, Heinz, Carnegie on ad infinitum has now been hijacked by managers/decendents (who never made the seed money of said foundations) but now lavish it on liberal causes. Most of those great foundations were conservative in scope and intent. In today's world that has all vanished, and the memory of the patriarchs long forgotten.

I acknowledge that the spiritual guidance counselor does not deliver any services as an alternative, competitive or otherwise, to services delivered by the Church of Scientology, but provides individual spiritual guidance only on a hourly basis.

I swear I am not here to seek any treatment or therapy for any physical or mental condition and will not be receiving any treatment or therapy for any physical or mental condition. If it is found that I am suffering from any physical or mental illness, the practitioner reserves the right to refuse spiritual counseling at his or her discretion.

I swear I am not under any psychiatric or medical therapy or treatment and am not taking any medical or other drugs.

I acknowledge and agree that I can be refused spiritual counseling if the practitioner believes they cannot honestly provide it

I, the undersigned, declare that I fully understand and agree to all of the points above.
