We got our first TV when I was 7 years old. On Saturdays I'd get up early in the morning and watch the test pattern...the circular one with the Indian in a War Bonnet...until the first duster came on—Roy Rogers. He was followed by Sky King, a couple of old one reelers with the Duke, Gene Autry and Hopalong Cassidy. Had my "Fanner Fifty" cap gun leathered and sometimes drawn in case any of the fella's needed another hand.:coolwink:

I remember Sky King. There was also a short run series called The Flying Doctor that was a takeoff on it. But my favorite to watch in the evening with the grandparents was Sugarfoot. 7:30 West Coast time.:D

My best friend's great uncle was Gene Autry. Her name was Jaeneen Autry. Their family hailed from Tillamook, Oregon where the cheese that they make there really sticks with ya. :thumbsup:

I've stripped many a wire with it, used the screw driver on many a screw, and opened many Treesweet Grapefruit juice cans with the opener.

When Hoppy came to San Jose Civic Auditorium, I shook his hand. I have not ever forgotten that event.

Don't forget Nellie Bell, Sky King's niece, Penny, Gabby Hayes, The Cisco Kid and his sidekick, Pancho. The supporting personnel were as important as the main characters. Would the Lone Ranger be all the Lone Ranger could be without Tonto?

Wed or Thurs nights ( I don't remember), alternated with "Cheyenne" with Clint Walker and "Bronco" with Ty Hardin.

Gene owned Golden West Broadcasters. Golden West owned KTLA, the TV station Lakey mentioned.
When in LA, I always listened to KMPC because of GO (Gary Owens), the Winker (Wink Martindale), Geoff Edwards, and Jim Lange. Originally KMPC carried the Dodgers. when they lost the Dodgers, Gene created The Angels. The Angels stayed with KMPC, because Gene owned them.

At home, I listened to KSFO, the World's Greatest Radio Station.

They did alternate the showings to every other week....until the reruns that is.

I liked the San Francisco videos. I used to go with the family every Sunday afternoon and we would be driving back to Oakland just when the sun was starting to set in the sky. Beautiful. I miss the peanut brittle from Fisherman's Warf.

By the way, I have some John McMaster's tapes where he gives a synopsis of what the Power Processes are handling and how to get at the PCs basic charge. I just started listening to them today. They are in brilliantly clear audio.
YouTube as well as My Space lets you upload mp3s and make soundbites. Does the C of S still jealously guard copywrites of materials developed by individuals that they declared. Would they be pulled off of YouTube ya think if posted in segments? If the recordings were to be listed as a nonpublic upload then the link created to such 'clouds' or caches could be passed around without much ado.
I just don't know if anyone would care to hamper the effort. While some things go untouched on the internet other things are pulled intermittently
I don't have mac software. I studied the Final Cut Pro suite for a while and know it could be a snap to create the audios for the internet. You might have to disguise your IP for the process by downloading a 'smart' download (tiny file) software like the teenagers do when pirating first run films. It eliminates their chances of being fined for the hijacking.

I'm still figuring out how to use U torrent and Pirate Bay. I did not know it could take so darn long to download and entire film. Guess it depends on how you do it.

How about Dulloldfart? Sounds like something along his interests too.
Otherwise you can just upload the, to a free file sharing service like Megaupload and then just post the links.

I remember all of those TV shows back in the old days of black-and-white TV.:thumbsup:

When I was about 4 years old I used to watch "Sheriff John" who showed the cheapy "Clutch Cargo" cartoons.

(BTW, "Sky King" flew a Cessna twin engine.)

I thought you already had them along with Jack Horner's? I was sorry I could not give you advice on how best to place them on the internet. Maybe Dexter would like a copy?

I would be 'delighted' to share with you in the same spirit that they were shared with me. :D

I can get them onto my hard drive and burn the mp3s. I do not know how long each part is. I'm just reviewing it today.

Preview on Beautiful People party in Fullerton!

I got home over an hour ago but had to spend all this time talking with Evy about her boyfriend acting irrational again. She commented that I was so sane and stable compared to the various guys she has been dating. I said, maybe you and I should give the marriage another chance before the divorce finalizes in February. She didn't say much about that but wanted to talk more about how to handle her boyfriend. All this prevented me from posting about our party in Fullerton.

Just a few words to let y'all know that the party did take place. Joan came with her sisteer Laura and Laura's husband George, who is at least my age if not slightly older. George reads ESMB and the Apollo thread and took a real liking to me and was with Susan Todhunter all the way through her terminal disease in 1992 and he told me the stuff on the internet is not accurate.

Johnny showed up with a friend Paul but Edey was late, caught in traffic and walked in about 35 minutes later. Edey walked over and I introduced her to Johnny. She looked incredibly beautiful, at least to me. I took lots of photos and will try and post them tomorrow. Johnny was impressed with Edey's appearance expecially her reddish hair and held some strands and examined them. I do not think he expected such a beautiful woman.

Laura's husband George gravitated to me and bent my ear telling me the the Susan Todhunter story. Johnny was talking to Edey while Joan and Laura were talking. Also at our table were two women who were affiliated with the restaurant plus Paul.

The music began and was excellent, I will cover more of that later. At the first break we changed seats and I went over and sat next to Joan, while Johnny and Edey were still talking. Next I returned to my original seat to talk to Edey but she told me she wanted to get acquainted with Joan. Johnny had stood up and moved to another location so Joan and Edey began a conversation. They immediately hit it off big time. Later Edey told me that they were soul mates now, that Joan was one of the most fanstastic people she had ever met. They had made plans to get together. Edey also commented on how nice Laura seemed.

The music was phenomenal - more on that later. Permanent friendships were made between Edey and Joan. It looks like Edey and Johnny are going to meet up later. I hooked up with George and also Joan. Joan and I had some extremely good comm going. Johnny and I also linked up. We put our arms around each other and started talking "shop" with Edey watching both of us with a big grin on her face as Johnny was explaining some tech to me. I said to both Edey and Johnny that it looked as if a bunch of spiritual team mates were reconnecting, once again planning to go out and help change the world for the better just as we had done many, many times in distant times and far away places. Both of them agreed this was so. More to come tomorrow, so good night for now.

a server in Holland with most scn data on it. I've not actually explored it myself as there is very little I don't have. Being in Holland the law is that freedom of speech or religious freedom trumps copyright and thus COS can't touch it. The many lawsuits of Karin Spaink and Zenon Parnousis ended up
with COS unable to attack them with more lawsuits or take matters to
the european courts.

One possible snag is that ROs are very particular about keeping confidential matters confidential.

FoTi - Do you really mean TV series in the 40's? Don't you mean the 50's. 1940's TV was pretty basic, mainly reruns of old cowboy movies and a few old Laurel and Hardy movies and lots of wrestling and roller derby matches. Real sports occasionally appeared on TV in the 40's as well such as boxing matches sponsored by Gillette of "Look sharp, feel sharp and be sharp" fame, tennis matches, and an occasional baseball game.

I am not aware of any series which ran on TV in the 1940's. By around 1952 tons of TV series were running but the ramp up year was proabably 1952 itself. !950 and 1951 were more akin to the 40's as to TV programming with the two exceptions being lots of kids shows and news coverage coming onto TV in 1950 and 1951. I just know this from my own experiences having lived it in Los Angeles and turning 10 years old in December of 1949. I think the East Coast was ahead of us out in L.A.. Maybe there were some series on the East Coast but out on the West Coast, I do not recall any series on TV until 1952 when a whole bunch of them came on line, so to speak.
