Do you have ANY Photos of the Old Celebrity Center Days???

Auditor's Toad

Clear as Mud
The same Joanie Prather that helped me late night after night FESing folders?

The same Joanie Prather that went in the academy after she finished her IV internship and helped students on their academy levels with metering, drilling, etc hours?

Same gal that supported James while he sup'd the Dianetics & Class IV internships?

That one?

Oh, yeah, and she did a TV show.

I've made a number of posts here on ESMB re: Yvonne. Anyone is free to do a search and read them, disagree with them and dislike them. I'm not going to rehash or link them all here.

I knew Yvonne for over 10 years. I worked with and around her on a few occasions. Were were fellow "Flag Officers". The "Two CO's" story is true from what I know.

Irene Howey/Dunleavy/Dirman was very adept at cutting throats, knifing backs and lettin' good guys take the fall...I know, I saw it happen to others and it happened to me.

I'm sure that Yvonne had her dark side that manifested at times during her time in the SO...as did I and most likely some other of Y'all out there.

I saw plenty of World Class A**holes and mean SOB's in my time on Staff and as Flag Crew and, for my money, Yvonne was not one of them...far from it.

Anyone that ran an Org "back in the days" knows just how horrific and insane Senior "Management" was...the pressure was immense, incessant and brutal. You were never anything "better" than your last week and often times "worse"...especially a "Major SO Org".

Yvonne was one of the good guys, AFAIC. However, this is an open Board and anyone is free to disagree or to post their "Take" on Yvonne....as am I.

Face :)

I feel the same, Face...except if people are going
to rip people up, they should give specifics. That way people can decide
for themselves. Without specifics...it's just :bs: as far as I'm concerned.

Sure, everyone has a opinion, but this lady is d e a d, so I think the least
we can do is stick to the facts, as she is not here to defend herself (nor would she--if she were here, now that I think of it).

She was one amazing woman...I'll say that, for many, many people.

Oh thank you, Auditor's Toad!

I knew I had a warm spot in my heart for her, but wasn't sure
what her post was. Gotcha now! She supported James (amazing sup,
by the way..I used something he taught me, later at Flag and the WDC
asked: "Who supervised you?" LOL.

:thankyou:

The same Joanie, who left the Co$ with her husband, before it was the popular thing to do, and went to the St. Petersburg Times, when they didn't have to?

I don't have personal pictures, but have access to a bunch of old Celebrity mags.
If any one's interested, I'll post pictures I find from the mags (approx 1974-1978ish).
Here's one,

If you think Yvonne was one of the 'good guys' you must have been stricken when bin Laden was shot.

Back in the 80's when swarms of people left the cult after the CofS's fiasco at the hotel Buenaventure in downtown L.A. in Sept. of 83, people had to endure the blind allegiance of Old Timers to LRH. They used to blot out any truths of what he'd become, preferring to think of him as the 'modest' caring, altruistic, selfless leader, necessity dictated he portray himself as, in order to get the cult underway. Many of these people died clinging to their image of good guy Ron.

Now, I read from two people how Yvonne Jentzsch was the most loving, giving, caring, nurturing, etc. they ever knew. Well, guess what...they didn't know her all that well. They knew the PR side she projected. Those of us who worked with her in the trenches, and felt her sting, knew the dark side. And it was pretty bad. But far be it from me to burst the bubble of anyone practising self delusion. The delightful cartoon character Mr. Magoo is almost blind. Mrs. Magoo is TOTALLY blind on the subject of Yvonne Gillham Jentzsch. So is Auditor's Toad. That's okay. You can have your fable. I'll keep telling the truth about her. She was nextdoor to a demon.

No, "Clarence," I'd say the truth is you never got to know her . . . . you see, Yvonne, was one of those high-powered classy, very perceptive people who saw very correctly several things: a) correct orders of importance, b) how to best get the job done, c) was a truly great leader and manager of people and, of equal importance, d) she was colossally perceptive regarding others and thus did not suffer fools gladly . . . or at all.

So fools had a rather tough time around her . . . she didn't let them too near her (a wise and sane move) and she sure as hell knew how to keep them from destroying her lines and the things she saw of value.

She also colossally helped many, many people. And was a truly kind person.

I knew Yvonne in Melbourne in the quite early '60's when she ran the $cn Franchise there . . . she was responsible for booming Melbourne $cn and feeding what became the Org . . . she helped many, and is and was beloved by many.

That person in the photo with her I commented on, Wally B, is an old PC of mine from Melbourne.

So I know these cats, and know them well, and know their values and merits and worth.

And one thing we need to respect as a fact of life, whether in $cn (where it is applied rather too viciously) the business world or the military . . . in all these places where performance or indeed lives are at stake . . . the executive class are required to be rather severe in dealing with the idiot class, the trouble-makers and the deadbeats.

So, all I have to say is that anyone who had "trouble" "from" Yvonne shouldn't be blaming Yvonne nor calling her names but looking to see what about themselves was found to be unacceptable to that stellar person.

Your stats in no way match hers as to worth or value . . . . so one can only conclude the fault is not in her or in her stars, but in you and yours. And this is exemplified, as Magoo pointed out later . . . . by the generalities you used.

The truth is, while you may have met her, you didn't know the lady. And she was a great lady and great person . . . . and is deserved of the love and honor so many other great people give her, as shown here on this thread.

So, if you had "trouble" in her presence:duh: I can tell you, you are among the very rare, and of a variety who may well be a magnet to it from other sources as well. Tough.

So "Clarence" you are the odd man out . . . . go figure on that.

the guy in very bottom right is Sam Loria, I think. He was CO of L.A. Org for awhile after being busted from some other Sea Org post, labelled an SP, and then completing the RPF. He lasted about a year at L.A. Org. Nice guy. Too bad he got swallowed up by scientology because I think at heart he was a good person. Don't know where he is now.
