I quoted Hubbard's 'My Philosophy' to provide a tiny sampling of Hubbard's manner of expressing himself and how it affects Scientologists. Hubbard could have claimed to have been evaluated by the Navy shrinks as having "no neurotic or psychotic tendencies." Yet, that wasn't sufficient. Hubbard was going to have "no neurotic or psychotic tendencies of any kind whatsoever."

And just what does "violently disagreeing with the Bridge created by Ron" look like?

but it seems to me that Karen is posting these abuses more for the spiders of google, for Congressional staff members, prosecutors, deputy sheriffs, etc. than to be, either preaching to the choir or engaging unseemly disputes that just muddle some government staffers' research assignment.

Scientology is not just a collection of isolated bad acts, or criminal acts. It's an organized criminal conspiracy - a "tight conspiracy" as Hubbard, the author of its "scriptures," called it.

Yes, the "Church of Scientology" has "scriptures," and these "scriptures," as has been asserted and recognized in court cases, and asserted in its own official statements to Scientologists and to "wogs," consist of "the written and spoken words of L. Ron Hubbard."

And these "scriptures" are very relevant to anyone examining Scientology's pattern of abuse and criminality.

And a major sore point, and point of annoyance, for the MartyWorld people, and other Scientologists, has been that some people have been adding - to the descriptions of Miscavige's abuses and criminality - the Scientology "scripture" that is behind those abuses and criminality, and instructs for those abuses and criminality.

Apparently that "besmirches the good name of L. Ron Hubbard."

It's all part and parcel of the same thing and I can't understand why some people can't see that or have a problem with it. The idea isn't to prosecute Hubbard, but unless it is known where the abusive doctrines originated and WHY they are carried out today, it's a very small part of the picture.

Karen where are you. We miss you on this thread

It is probably not my place to make this posting but I am going to anyway.

I believe that Karen has left OCMB and ESMB for now. I'm really sorry to see this but I do understand in my own way.

Karen is a dear and close friend who I have known as a kind and wonderful person since 1981. We chat regularly on the phone and it is always some of the nicest chats I have.

Karen has so much wanted to highlight the horrid ongoing abuses in organized scientology on both here and xenu.net and has had excellent threads on same that hopefully internet spiders will find and can be used by authorities to help them take action against the abuses.

Unlike some of us who have had more time to decompress, Karen has only been out of organized scientology for a very short time. She, like, so many of us has been badly hurt in organized scientology and has lost dear loved ones to its cruelty.

Karen is still trying very hard to decompress, like many of us she is still really hurting but she is fighting back and fighting back hard. One of the things that she (and I) absolutely hated in organized scientology was how she had no free speech in it and how she was abused and otherwise mistreated when she tried desperately to speak out and correct wrongs (as were so many others).

Like many of us Karen is experiencing the freedom to speak out now and it is liberating. But, IMO, the constant attack on her beliefs she is getting on here and on xenu.net is too much for her right now in her current stage of trying to heal herself, especially in threads where she was only trying to highlight current abuses in an attempt to help others and to get action taken. (BTW she has also been invaluable to me back channels to help me get the attention of an important criminal investigator in a major government agency with what I know about organized scientology. Karen is involved in many important things back channels where she is trying to make a positive difference).

I for one am really sorry to see her go off these boards for now and I look forward to her coming back. This thread was started from one on xenu.net which in turn was started with back and forths between Karen and myself. I have supported the thread on xenu.net many times and I love these threads.

But like I have told Karen on xenu.net and in private conversations and emails, others here with some views different from her own are also deeply hurt and they too have their stories to share and they too have very important things to say and must be free to do so. And while telling her that she is going to be challenged and possibly even hurt by speaking out by many, like me, who do not believe in LRH or his "tech", I always hoped she could steel herself and keep up the exposures and fight because it is healing for many and a worthy cause.

Karen is aware of so many of my talks, posts and other public statements that are critical of LRH and scientology itself including in another very important current thread on xenu.net about the causes of abuses in scientology organizations:

In the meantime we each of us who wish to do so will continue on public forums and elsewhere to expose the criminality, fraud and abuses that is scientology will continue to speak out.

Our free speech, no matter how it may differ from that of others or even hurt, is so very important and must not be abridged.

Your writing is always filled with rich ideas, compassion and humanity.

I had a lovely conversation with Karen earlier today and we talked a bit about her feeling that it is better to post elsewhere at this time.

Of course her wonderfully vibrant posts will be greatly missed, but I suppose that each writer and human rights activist in the world has to decide at any given moment in time where the best venue is to nourish their creative flourishes. Collaborative efforts can often be finicky and the artist usually knows when one story has been told and it is time to begin another.

I always thought it was remarkable that Karen, an Indie Scientologist, boldly made ESMB one of her many homes and, undoubtedly, this forum was made so much better by her passionate presence and contributions.

I think in my heart that ESMB will always be a home that holds much love and respect for her, and one that Karen can visit any time the muse so moves her. I would always find her revelations fascinating to read, no matter where she might post them.

I received a short note from her after that conversation and asked her permission to post it.

Thank you for your Goodwill and kind spirit.
I understand that Message boards have their own culture and expect debate and
response and so on.

Therefore it was inappropriate of me to have selected a Message Board forum when I had no desire to "play by the rules" or what was expected of me. The fault was mine, and I am responsible. I think I did *try* ~~ My early posts coming out, I did try harder than most Indies to mingle some.

But when all is said and done, I had to follow my purpose which is to whistle blow on abuses, (to bring an end to them) not to sword fence which can naturally occur in a free-for-all forum.

I am busy as a bee in the Art world ...this is the busiest season of all.

I will emerge on the Internet in 2012 in a way more effective way.

I will always be grateful for the new and *special* friendships made by so many who showed me such kindness back channels (even though they did agree with my beliefs) and especially Emma.
