Update on "Lakey Tech"

My old friend Edey and her husband Mike are putting on a monthly class on Huna Shamanism which I am attending. BTW, Huna is a peaceful, non violent branch of Shamanism which was commonly practiced by some American Indian tribes in the Old West, most notably the Cherokee and the Apache. I like the Shaman principles, they match nicely with my current belief system.

Edey and Mike recommended that I print flyers and offer to give free 10 minute sessions of my "Lakey Tech" to the attendees of their class when the class was over.

Ten people attended the class plus Mike and Edey made 12. 5 of those people requested free sessions from me. My sessions are a combination of Shiatsu Massage combined with two way communication between me and my client. Its not a full body massage but concentrates only on the upper back, neck and head.

In 2010, I gave sessions to Edey and her friends, perhaps 30 people in all and about 120 sessions in all. In 2011, I cut back to just one session a week on a friend of Edey's who lives near me, a total of about 52 sessions. All my sessions have been done for free except in 2011 where I traded services with my client for services she does at her salon.

THE OUTCOME OF YESTERDAY'S SESSIONS

All 5 clients were women, 4 were real clients, the 5th was not really sessionable.

Client #1 - An extremely tall Caucasian woman, about 6'3" around 50 years old. She was very open and talked freely. Her entire neck and shoulder areas were rigidly locked up with tension. I worked on her neck with very strong pressure and asked her what was going on. She is renting a place where she is in conflict with her landlord. The landlord is accusing her of damaging his premises which she says is untrue. After about 5 minutes on the neck and shoulders, I began pressing on her head. Some energy and heat flowed off.

I then began to pick up her emotions and her thoughts. I suggested to her that she had been kind enough to overlook several things wrong in her apartment ny not say anything and that she felt that, as a result, she was building up "brownie points" with her landlord. She respected the property and even made some improvements with her own money.

Out of nowhere, the landlord attacked her for causing breakage of something which she had nothing to do with and then to top it off, the landlord completely refused to acknowledge the validity of her claims to have been a lenient tenant and one who made her own improvements. My client laughed and confirmed that my suggestions were correct .

Ireturned to her neck and it was a little better but still very tense. I found a point on the left side of the neck, perhaps a pinched nerve, and stroked that. She said that pushing that point caused enormous relief. I worked it in a circular motion and all of a sudden, the neck went completely loose. I took her neck in both hands and rotated right, left, up and down and it was tension free and she was very happy. She was laughing and that was end of the demo session.

I'll quickly cover only the highlights of the other women.

#2 was a young attractive woman about 24 from India who was taking a Yoga class. The teacher of the class took a dislike to her and made the class very unpleasant for her. Her neck was rigid and had no motion. The young lady had excelled in every metaphysical class she had ever taken except for this one. She quit this class before finishing it. She was very bummed out!

We ascertained that the instructor perceived her as a threat. That part was easy but then that did not handle her stress. Her problem had to do with the way in which she left the class. She felt tremendous guilt and failure for quitting the class as if she had quit in total failure or total effect. She simply had to change viewpoints and realize that she, of her own volition, decided to withdraw her allegiance from the class due to her instructor being unethical.

Oddly, Mike covered this exact topic in his Shaman class, the topic of how to withdraw allegiance from something as a causative action and not a total defeat.

I called her attention to what Mike had said and Edey, standing nearby gave her a quick pep talk on how she left the class by choice because the instructor's ethics were out. This did the trick!!! Full motion in her neck returned and her shoulders and upper back became tension free as well, all in less than 15 minutes!

Women 3 and 4 both had huge wins as well. Number 3's neck was locked up because she was an instructress at Unity church and she was taking losses that very few people were open enough to learn new things. She was running into service fascimile phenomena where people already thought they knew it all and were unwilling to "know that they did not know". This was her item and her means of healing was that she would sigh and make a blowing noise and huge amounts of heat would flow off of her head, through my body and into the ground. I don't recall woman #4's story.

Woman #5 practiced accupuncture, yoga and other Eastern techniques and was just trying to make me wrong. She kept complaining that I was pressing too hard and then when I went to press on her head, she said that she does not allow anyone to press on her head. I told her that if I am not allowed to press on her head than I can't give her a session so we just ended off with a smile. No harm...No foul. BTW - her neck was also fully tense and locked up. She needed help!

SUMMARY -
It seems that most people go around day to day with stress which manifests itself by causing the upper backs and necks to lock up with tension. Flows seem to be cut off and electrical charge and static electricity begin to build up on the skull. The human skull acts as a capacitor or charge storage unit.

The stress seems to originate with upsets in everyday living situations in which communications breakdown between the client and one or more others in his/her immediate environment.

Some relief is attained by a strong shiatsu type massage. To get the neck and shoulders to really let go, the person's attention has to be be directed onto the source of their problem. Some sort of guidance by the operator seems to help, keeping the discussion upbeat and not serious seems to help and duplicating what the person is going through and then acknowledging the person is absolutely vital if one wants to get all the stress handled.

These gains are never permanent. Life seems to cause things to revert back to the stiff neck and stress in from 1 to 3 days. Repeated treatments over and over tend to lead to a more permanent gain.

This "tech" seems to the the kernel of a good idea. Not everyone is going to be able to do this. There is some sort of "gift" required to bring it off. I have no idea as to what percentage of people could successfully learn this tech. A wild assed guess would be that 10% to 20% could do it. It's advantages are that it is quick and requires no equipment. Disadvantages are that the operator has to be physically present and that the gains do not usually last very long.

It seems as if this technique could be developed much further. I think that more is possible than just the wins I have produced so far on about 50 people.

Thanks for this Lakey. Being a licensed massage therapist, and having studied a number of different modalities in that field, this is interesting to me.

You're kidding! I had no idea you were a licensed massage therapist. I am not licensed. I was thinking of taking some courses and getting certified. You know, I have brought up this topic several times before. Is this the first time that you have read about it?

There is an added dimension to what I do and that has to do with entities which tend to be present and active when someone has a lot of stress and tension in their body. Last year, I was attempting to run those out. I received some good advice from Roger, Carmelo and a couple others. That advice had to do with flowing a lot of affinity to the entities to get them to lighten up and also to have the client decide whether or not they want to keep them as spiritual team mates or run them out.

Flowing affinity to them is extremely effective!! Anyhow, though I was having an excellent success rate in handling entities, I decided to remove them from what I do and proceed forward with only the massage portion and the, listen, duplicate and acknowledge portion of my tech. I was not comfortable getting involved with entities and decided to not address them in my sessions though I have this knowledge and its technique in reserve if it is absolutely needed.

Well FoTi, we will have to compare notes.

I always read your posts on this thread, and on other threads if I happen to see them.

Yes....it would be a good idea to do the training and get certified. At this point in time I don't think California requires a license, but more and more states are requiring licensure and if California does, it would be good to have your certification so that you could continue to practice what you want to do.

Also, it's a good idea to get trained, because there are contraindications to doing massage and touching people in certain places and in certain ways, under certain circumstances, especially if a woman is pregnant or someone has cancer and some other health issues. It's just a good idea to know what is okay to do and what is not okay to do, if one is going to go poking around on someone else's body, even if it's just around the head, neck and shoulders.

Here's a whole lot of videos on Youtube with contraindications that you can watch....just so you have some information on this as you go about doing what you do.

Thanks FoTi, I watched some of those videos and its good to know those things.

For what I do, the massage is just sort of the "carrier wave" to be used in giving the person an "assist" of sorts to help them sort out an area on which they have their attention stuck and which is causing their body flows to go out of alignment which, in turn, is then causing large amounts of static electricity to build up on their skull.

FoTi, do you do Swedish type massage, Shiatsu massage or both?

For me, the Swedish massage has very little value. It is mostly light and gentle stroking and its main value seems to be that it is relaxing. The strong Japanese style heavy pressure massage, Shiatsu, is where it's at! Shiatsu alone can sometimes get parts of the body to snap into alignment.

For shear animal type pleasure, there is nothing quite like having someone dig into a sore muscle with all their force and get the muscle to relax a bit and "let go". Different people have different pain thresholds but for me, its always the more pressure the better.

About 3 years ago, my ex wife got me a $140 gift card at Glenn Ivy, a big Southern California massage chain. I went in and told them I wanted the strongest massage which they offer. I got a young woman, between 18 and 21 who had no hand strength to speak of and gave me only a light Swedish massage. It was very disappointing. Fortunately the club had 5 star jacuzzi, Sauna and Steam Bath facilities and excellent showers and I got some pleasure out of those.

I found a massage center in downtown Fullerton, CA where they use exclusively Oriental young women as their masseuses. I had massages from 4 women over a 2 year period and then got Annie, a Korean girl in 2008. This girl is only 5'2" and 115 pounds but she has enormous finger and hand strength. She is the most skilled accupressure massage person I have ever encountered. Besides her hand strength, they have iron bars attached to the ceiling and the masseuses will walk on your back at your request while holding on to those bars for support. Annie is also very skilled at that. With a 115 pound person pressing down on your back and knowing where to press for the best results, some amazing things can happen during that phase of the massage.

Alas, the massages run $60 an hour and I was giving Annie an additional $25 tip. I moved away from Fullerton in Jan, 2010 and then closed down my company at the end of 2010. Once I retired, I stopped going in and did not show up for a year and a half. Finally in mid 2011 my back and neck were really out and I dropped in. Annie was still there. I've been 3 more times since then but living on retirement income, its hard to justify paying that much money for a massage on a regular basis.

FoTi - Thanks for being so great a correspondent on this thread. You loved the earlier video which I posted of Mozart's piano Concerto #15, conducted by Christopher Hogwood with Robert Levin playing a 1790 vintage piano of the type that Mozart owned.

The other posting had the 3rd and last movement of the piece. This post features the first movement. Probably when the 1st movement ends, you can link to the 2nd movement which should appear automatically on your screen.

Note that this 1790 type of piano only has 5 octaves of range whereas the modern piano has 7 1/4 octaves.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofB8A8KWil8&feature=results_video&playnext=1&list=PL4D4BC9FF4DE28AD1

It is amazing how much rapidly piano technique developed after the era of 1780 to 1790. First, the piano got bigger, heavier and much more powerful and Beethoven took advantage of these changes and wrote bigger and more powerful compositions to take advantage of the newer pianos. Next came Lizst and Chopin. Around 40 years after this Mozart piece was written, Lizst entered the scene as did Chopin. Because of Chopin, the way the piano was played and how it sounded were changed permanently. The old Mozart type style went the way of the horse and buggy, during the 19th century.

Robert Levin, the pianist likens this change to the way the home computer industry developed in the late 20th century.

You could say that the old big mainframe computers of the 1960's and 1970's represented the archaic piano of Bach's time. The early home computers of the early 1980's, running MS DOS, might be said to represent the Mozart era piano. When windows came out in the 1990's, that might represent the piano of Beethoven's day. The modern piano and modern piano writing could be said to have originated with Chopin.

I don't know how accurate my representations are but the piano was archaic until Stein came along in the 1770's and by 1785, Stein and Anton Walter were producing pianos similar to the one being played in the above video. By 1805, the Stein and Walter models were already horse and buggy compared to big new modern pianos from Britain Both Clementi and Pleyel, classical era composers. became major piano makers of the early 19th century. Beethoven led the enhanced piano into a new era of expressiveness with his spectacular piano music but within 10 years of Beethoven's death, Chopin totally reinvented piano composing. It all happened so fast, especially when you consider that the entire period was horse and buggy.

Wow! You're a good tipper. :)

This conversation is too involved and would take too much time to explain everything in a post. I'd be glad to talk about it :eek:nthephone: on Skype, if you want.

I like the sound, style and character of the old instruments as they were played back then. Has a different feel to it in comparison with modern orchestras.

One evening back in the 70's when I was on the Dianetic Internship, I had to go to Qual to sort out some sort of confusion. I don't recall what it was about now, or what the Qual Sec did to straighten me out so that I could continue on with my course, but when I went home that night after course, I flipped on the stereo and started listening to an orchestra on the radio. I found myself suddenly able to hear every single instrument in the orchestra and I was awe struck by that. I sat on the floor in front of the speakers for about 20 minutes, just fascinated with what I was hearing. :music: My perceptions in regards to music had changed drastically from what I normally heard in music, just from whatever the Qual handling had been. I then realized that not everyone heard music in the same way and thought that this must be why some people are really grabbed by music and become musicians and make it their whole life. It was like all the instruments in the orchestra had come alive for me, and each had it's own personality, instead of the orchestra just being a melded sound....I don't really know how to describe this, but it was totally awesome. Unfortunately it didn't last. I wish it had because it was truly incredible. It made the music, the instruments and the orchestra seem really rich with a lot of depth and color that I hadn't experienced before.

As a result of some of the good experiences I've had when in Scientology, I have had glimpses of how unbelievably beautiful and awesome our perceptions and experiences can be, if they aren't dumbed down or dulled. Those experiences were far more than anything I had ever dreamed of and I don't think I could have conceived of it if I hadn't experienced it myself. If we all could perceive life in that way, life would be way, way more than incredibly enjoyable for all of us. I just hope that we can all find the way to being able to exist in that beautiful state someday. How delightful life would be. :happydance:

People need to be awakened to their true potential.

I thought when I found Scientology that I'd found pure gold.....unfortunately it turned out to be mostly fools gold with a little teeny bit of gold here and there, but I'm glad for the little pieces that I did find.

Thanks Carmelo! This is great data presented by Phil Spickler. I enjoyed the story about Space Opera and the look into how Hubbard's true motives and actual deeds did not align with what Spickler had expected.

I especially enjoyed the story of NOTS, what it was originally designed for and what it grew into being. It is amazing to still be uncovering new important pieces of the puzzle after over 3 years on ESMB. These revelations about NOTS are major pieces of the puzzle of what Hubbard was all about and are on a par with those of Veda, Afaceinthecrowd and a few others. I believed there was no more major data available to learn about Hubbard and Scientology and now Phil Spickler's writings prove that this is not so.

I am so glad that I never got onto Solo Nots. Instead of using NOTS for its intended purpose, NOTS and solo NOTS were made to replace the OT Levels (violating the KSW policy on Technical Degrades) and it is now a nearly endless rundown which can be used on and on stripping all the money from even the wealthiest Scientologists. You don't see top management in the C of S availing themselves of Solo NOTS, nor even audited NOTS for that manner. That is a tip off as to what solo NOTSl can do for people. It is a huge Red Flag that top management does not believe that they need it!!!

Re: The old days - Aboard the Apollo - 1973

Great realizations FoTi!! The beautiful French pianits Helene Grimaud says a couple things in her interviews that may help you re-attain the former great state which you achieved in music. She talks about the vibration of the notes and she says that the vibrations are noticeably different every time she plays a piece.

She says that in great music, one of her secrets is to vibrate between the notes! Its pretty self evident that we spiritual beings respond to certain frequencies of vibration more so than other frequencies. We seem to have our own natural vibration.

Musical vibrations can cover a large gamut of the range of human emotions. Rhythm is a very powerful force, especially in dance. The music one likes best probably vibrates closer to a being's natural vibration than music he doesn't like. The composers, orchestras, bands, instrumentalists and vocalists which people like best probably reflect best their native vibrations or perhaps even better can get people to vibrate at new frequencies which they were previously unaware of.

Helene Grimaud talks about vibrating between the notes and if one can achieve that, one's sense of music can be greatly expanded.

How the Duggars Support 19 Kids and Live Debt-Free
By Sarah B. Weir, Yahoo! blogger | Financially Fit – 12 hours ago

It costs nearly a quarter of a million dollars to raise a kid from birth to 18, according to the most recent calculations by the United States Department of Agriculture—and that's before college tuition. Multiply that by 19 children plus mom and dad and it is a little mind bending that the Duggar family, of reality television fame, manage to support themselves without government assistance and, what's more, are completely debt-free.

These days, the family earns its money from their popular TLC program, 19 Kids and Counting as well as from real estate investments. E!Online estimates each episode makes them a cushy $25,000 to $40,000. However, even before the brood hit the big time on television, they were self-sufficient and lived comfortably. How did they do it?

Neither dad Jim Bob nor mom Michelle Duggar attended college. They married when he was 19-years-old and she was 17. They got their start as entrepreneurs by selling used cars which Jim Bob repaired himself. Then they launched a towing business. They sold the business in 1994 and went into real estate. One of their first lucrative deals was to convert an old chicken hatchery into 10 commercial rental units. They also leased land to a cell phone company for its transmission tower. While the real estate business grew, the family was scrupulous about living withing their means.

Duggar Family Home Economics 101

1. Get out of debt. Jim Bob says the "Financial Freedom Seminar" by Jim Sammons, which preaches independence and thrift, inspired him and wife Michelle to live debt-free. It took years of lean living, but they were able to completely wipe out their debt and start making the investments that led to Jim Bob's success in commercial real estate. The Duggars don't use credit cards.

2. Buy your home with cash. The Duggars borrowed to purchase their first home—a tiny 900-square foot cottage where they raised five children. It took them seven years of scrimping, but they bought their 2,000-square-foot second house, which they were living in with 17 kids when their reality show began, outright for $65,000. Their current house sits on 20 acres and is 7,000 square feet. The family divides itself over four bedrooms and shares one super-sized family closet.

3. Buy used-everything. The Duggars have never owned a new car. One of their vehicles is a 21-seat bus that once belonged to a hockey team. It cost just over $2,000 at an auction and is worth about $50,000. Mom Michelle shops at garage sales and thrift shops for the kids' clothing and shoes. Jim Bob told MSNBC the family motto is, "Buy used, and save the rest."

4. Buy in bulk. With 21 mouths to feed, the family spends a significant portion of its earnings on food. They do a monthly bulk-shopping run for essentials—such as the 48 boxes of cereal they consume a month. Still, the Duggar family grocery bill is a whopping $3,000 per month.

5. Use energy efficient products. The Duggars outfitted their home with energy efficient light bulbs and appliances.Their monthly bill for water, utilities, and phone is just shy of $700.

6. Make what you can at home. The Duggars make their own laundry soap costing about $2 for 10 gallons, which is significant given that they wash about 35 loads a week. Although they purchase diapers, they make their own wet wipes. They also bake their own bread from 50-pound bags of wheat.

7. Scrutinize your bills. Jim Bob and Michelle ask for all of their bills to be itemized. They once noticed that a hospital had erroneously charged them for 86 bars of soap. "For hospital bills, phone bills, anything—ask for everything to be itemized," Michelle told Parenting.com. She looks over her cell phone bills particularly closely, "They automatically put stuff on. We call and get them to take it off."

8. Trim the budget of "extras." The Duggars give each other haircuts and limit their entertainment budget to $100 per month. On weekends they play broomball (a form of hockey) and take the kids to the playground or a park.

Haiti

Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.

The country shares an island with the Dominican Republic. The two countries are like night and day.

The dictators of the past wreaked havoc for decades. The hurricanes and the earthquake followed by the disease has pushed the living standard further down.

The economists' answers to buoying US jobs and prosperity don't even come close to applying.

If someone grows a plant in a victory garden, it will be stolen.

Money is kept on cell phone accounts because if it is carried, it will be stolen.

Our daughter, who works for the major cell phone company of Haiti, is on loan to the government of Haiti. She has been given the job of directing A LOT OF MONEY to something that will benefit the country's people.

any suggestions?

My policy with just about all foreign aid is this: Do not send money. Find out what they need. Give them the material goods to sustain themselves and the wherewithal to build from that stable position. American farmers and manufacturers would benefit. Haitians would benefit.

In the receiving country, we manage the distribution system to circumvent the criminal elements, placing such things as food directly in the hands of the people. Protected by US military if necessary.

Once again, do not send money. Send goods.

One more thought that is certain to get some howls and screams: The condition of the people as a country cannot be above Danger. Bypass is justified. New "policy" is a must. Any constitution or law will not be worth the paper it could be printed on as long as the criminal elements are in play. A constitution such as ours was meant for a moral people. When criminality and other forms of dishonesty overwhelm the system it goes nonfunctional. Installation of a benevolent dictator might be necessary. Don't give the dictator any money either.

Yes, Ted's principles are sound.

I have several comments . . . though be warned these are based on not ever having been in the country, though I was very, very close to a couple of Haitians here in the US.

From what you say, C, the money is already in the country and is to be used to best effect.

Knowing they are a neighbor of the Dom Republic suggests to me they share the same soil . . . and this will be the same rich stuff that grows the best cigar leaf in the world a la Cuba, Jamaica and its neighbor Dom Rep.

The place obviously has land laying fallow, not in use except for rudimentary attempts at subsistence "farming."

I would say, "the government" or the NGO doing the organizing of the use of the money can/should organize groups of local residents into co-ops to take over un-used/abandoned land and farm crops that a) they can protect and b) be sold on the international market for cash . . . . tropical fruits and cigar tobacco would be my first choices. BIG market in the US for this.

Ditto, they could engage in aqua-culture . . . .

There are other examples of individuals being financed to empower them as independent manufacturers . . . this earlier done in Asia.

As my mother used to be, she worked at home on her own sewing machine making clothing. This again could be set up on a co-op basis, with the members easily and quickly trained on how to be producers. Hell . . . be careful they might do a Chinese play on us and earn so much from us to become our creditor! :melodramatic:

But bottom line . . . the first step is to bring these folks UP into the realm of wanting to produce for themselves and begin to "put ethics in" in their communities so that everything either produced or used in production isn't stolen out from under their noses.

Most folks in the civilized west have no comprehension just how far down communities like Haiti have sunk . . . but it can be turned around as has been done in some of the African countries . . . and interestingly enough it is the women who actually start the change and upgrade and bring the society about them to greater sanity.

I suspect it will also be the women who will do the work and lead the (any upgrading of) change for the better in Haiti.

Co-ops will be needed to bring this off as in the co-operative enterprise there is communal support, safety and protection. It is also a successful enterprise model . . . . many may not be aware that in my day as a lad in Oz, much of the farm produce was brought to market by locally organized co-ops, and one year my uncle and I professionally fished in Byron Bay which had a wonderfully successful "fisherman's Co-op" to which we sold our catch.

the government of Haiti, these days, is the good guys. The money comes from it. What is needed is a way to use it for bringing up prosperity where many, if not most eat mud, just to quell hunger.

what would be a non wasteful use of the money?

how to develop commerce?

trickle down?

bubble up?

create small islands of slightly raised prosperity with guards, such as a manufacturing plant?

if you were the top banana, how best to make the money work for overall betterment?

it isn't foreign aid, it's real honest non US money

Danger Condition still applies.

First, what is the ideal scene for Haiti? I don't mean Ideal Ideal, just ideal compared to what it is now?

As top banana I would be ruthless on criminality.

Must secure food, water, shelter, clothing so these basics do not present a problem for the people and a distraction to creating honest business and enterprise. If the basics and criminality are not addressed the country could eventually slip into literal non-existence. Seems like it is hovering not far from death anyway.

Whereas everything of value initially comes from the earth, I would, on a longer term, look to the earth and sea for sustainable, marketable product or raw material. As I understand it, Haiti had no raw materials, no mining, etc. ... What about off-shore drilling? All Haitians could have a piece of the action while some other country drilled and pumped.

Roger's idea of growing tobacco sounds great and not as complicated as drilling for oil. Not only sounds great but should be great, and marketable. They could also grow marijuana/hemp. This natural plant can be broken down into many useful products. So what if the people smoke some. Pot smokers are generally laid back and not prone to violence. Evidence exist that the oils of the plant are effective in addressing cancer. Wouldn't that be a boon to the economy if Haiti became THE world's producer of medical grade marijuana. Clinics could be built for people who can't get relief for their ailments through conventional means. But I am getting way ahead of myself...

hempbasics.com

Well, you did preface your question with me being top banana. Back to the Ideal Scene... What is it? That's what I would do.

Also need a PR program to instill pride in being Haitian. A national product exchanged on a worldwide basis could move the country in that direction.

Ethics question: Who has or is benefitting by these people being held down?
