when i was training in SF and on staff at fcdc i would not violate my own christian pinciples and i mostly received respect for my personal integrity. i never said "but scripture says 'yada-yada'" or proseletyzed in any way. and of course i was eventually disposed of by the fcdc GO.
You were disposed of by the FCDC Guardians Office because they considered that your insistence on being a Christian was incompatible with Scientology?

Standard Tech, applied as it was meant to be... is decidedly unChristian.
i said little to identify myself as christian

Afraid you were going to get fed to the lions?![]()
not at all
i wanted to study the subject so i had to abide it's ways

To be a Christian requires you to care, genuinely, about other people. To love your neighbour, to turn the other cheek, and to live a charitable life.

What does "I said little to identify myself as christian" have to do with abiding with the ways of the CoS if there's no problem with being a Christian Scientologist?![]()
This doesn't sound like most of the Christians I know!
And I KNOW Christians!

P.S. With apologies to that guy Jesus Christ.
really, the whole argument that a Xian can't be a scnist boils down to:
scnists must only drink orange koolaid and Xians grape koolaid
i always use wine for the eucharist and i don't care a rat's ass who owns the vineyard

I was a Scientologist before I had all the information about what Scientology actually was. Scientology is structured – by Hubbard and not by Miscavige – to keep information away from you that you need to have to make informed decisions about your participation in it.
I saw enough to realize that I was lied to, and that if I passed on those lies, I would be lying to others about it.
That was it for me. Once I knew, I was gone.
Unlike others who find out the truth about Scientology and either ignore it or don’t, and find it perfectly okay to lie to others, or to not pass on what they know about Scientology to others, denying them the ability to make informed decisions about their participation in it.
I refused to do that, and still do.
Most people who were ever Scientologists leave it completely. This has been true since the 1950′s.
What does that make the ones who stay?

Again, you've gutted the definition of Christian and Scientologist to skim definitions that are compatible. That definition ignores the central tenets of Christianity.if you take only the simple definition of scientologist as someone who applies scientology to things in life and the simple defininition of christian as someone believes in that which is greater than ourselves, reads and applies scripture, and recognizes even if God did not annoint the nazarene 2000 years of history certainly has, i see no terminal conflict
tell me boomer, do you think someone can be both a christian and a dianeticist?
and...
just by the way...
your private beliefs are personal and your welcome to keep them confidential but it is pertinent to this dialogue to inquire if you are a professing christian
This doesn't sound like most of the Christians I know!

Here is a post from Alanzo on Geir Isene's thread from earlier today which I agree with:
The only way to interest a Christian in Scientology is by using deception. And sorry, but I don't believe the end justifies the means.![]()

Strangely enough, the Christians don't charge me to learn all about their faith so I would disagree that it's pertinent the the discussion.
What, pray tell, is a dianeticist? If you ditch all of the metaphysics from Scientology, you might be able to be a Christian and a Scientologist but you wouldn't really be a Scientologist, would you?
