No matter what words you use.. Would you agree 2+2=4?...

That actually would depend upon the algebraic system in use. For real.

... The sun rises in the east and sets in the west?

No. The earth rotates. The "rising of the sun" is an illusion due to having a visual perspective located at a fixed point on the surface of a rotating body.

Perspectives, just like context, matter. They frame your assumptions.

When it comes to religious belief, nobody here can arbitrate or set forth "truth".

We can disclose events, however. Generally, in this venue, the relevant events are about things that occur in CofS. So if someone's not in CofS, doesn't want to be, then that person's likely to be in agreement about those events, and, thus, the only relevant concrete objective facts. (though it can also be said that not everyone agrees on objective recountings and memories of events but hey...)

However, using base 10, that is always the answer. Always. From the earth, it is always the case that you will have to look eastward to see the sun rise. Always. It's not negotiable and not dependent on somebody's "truth". The whole idea is ridiculous and I am ashamed of my own stupidity for ever going along with it. It served nobody's purposes but Hubbard's for me to believe otherwise, and as I have mentioned previously was THE thing about Scientology that MOST wrecked my life. I will never forgive him for that alone - selling me that bullshit and taking advantage of my ignorance and lack of critical thinking skills simply to line his own pockets.

I would NEVER have joined Scientology without swallowing that stupid line.

And here we have yet another thread taken over by trolls.

Well! Isn't that the pot calling the kettle black.?

I started a forum to find old friends and reconnect. But the seething hated for all things Scientology couldn't leave it at that. Their intolerance can't allow any disagreeing opinion stand.

I was under the impression that Mr. Cox is not in CofS and has indicated that he does not agree with all of Scn. So you could check with him about the murder issue and see where he stands on that.
Brian said he was all about the red & whites.. I'm just wondering if that red & white is true for him. And if the answer is yes, why or no, why?

The word Reality, by definition, is "the world or state of things as they ACTUALLY EXIST." Not how we all agree they exist, not from each person's individual perspective... Brian's (and anyone else's) insistance on "my reality" is like saying "my facts." People can't get all mean and "invalidate your facts." They're either facts or they're not, and it's not hostile to say "Um, you're wrong, dude."

Not quite, but close enough. Concomitant with that definition, of course, and as per L Ron Hubbard, anyone who practises Scientology outside the organisation is a squirrel. Thus, Scientology outside of the cult is not, by Scientology's own definition, Scientology. It needs a new name. Hubbardism, or something, but, yeah, Whomeverology is probably the most accurate.

Is very easy to undercut that idea.

Here's how is done: disagree.

She wasn't referring to you Brian. She was referring to most or some of the rest of us.

Now put aside all of the frustration that I know you're feeling, much of it do to me I'm sure. It's totally okay to find old friends and reconnect. I hope you do just that. But in reality, if you come to the Ex-Scientologist Message Board that is filled with people whose lives have been harmed by Scientology, and then you praise the "Red and White" volumes of LRH, well, what do you expect the reactions to be?

There are quite a few practicing auditors on ESMB. There are also quite a few who still get auditing, whether in the Freezone or elsewhere. So you can do just fine here. It's okay. You're still quite new here and if you stick it out you'll find your niche. In fact I truly hope you do stay here. I'm not going to argue with you myself. But if you accuse someone here that I respect of something that I know is wrong I am going to speak up. So have some thick skin and prepare for that if you choose to take that course.

And so goes a typical conversation with a cultie.

Quoting Pontius Pilate, "What is truth?"
On that note.. What is Scientology?

Its so simple in my grandparents church.. You just have to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. After that the rest is between you and Him. I thought Source was Scientology but now I'm hearing not always. It's so confusing!

Some of the people here are actually guilty of "seething concern" more than anything else. But in any case, there's nothing as thought stopping as the old "hater" label. I find that intellectually dishonest in the extreme.
