Hi Revicamc

448 Beacon Street is the entire building that was for sale. It is now used as offices but listed as a single family because a buyer will probably use it as such.

The owners have accepted an offer so it is currently unavailable .

Would you like an updated list of available buildings or single families?

I drove by the Boston Idle Morgue a few months ago. No work had started on it.

Plus that building is at one of the busiest intersections in the South End. I can't imagine them closing any part of the street down for their grand opening.
 
Yes, a beautiful building overlooking the river. Of course could be put to better use than an org. I hope it happens soon, Idle org or not.

Next datum I'd like to see dug up is the closing date for the sale. This usually equates to the move-out date. Any time soon and that new building on Mass. Ave. will never have a chance of being ready.

If I bought the building @ 448 Beacon Street, I'd want the deal to close by early October. I'd want to try to recoup some of the money spent - Halloween falls on a Sunday this year - Any ideas for marketing a trip to the haunted mansion?

Can't wait to hear the flaps that will arise from this.

The Execs in Boston are notorious pass the buck to some junior and then hang him when he doesn't get it done.

The telex lines will be smoking and the OT Committee will somehow inherit the problem.

Oh, and Kevin Hall is insane.

Allready done my friend.

This go-round "only" 3 million more $ are needed - events put on by OT Committee are NONSTOP.

Old building is open and running daily - no word about moving.

Rennos have NOT started. current financing is for PLANNING only, not rennos.

Public were told in the PREVIOUS go-round that rennos would be paid from sale of Beacon street.

They changed their story THE DAY AFTER :omg:completing that total nightmare of endless fundraising.

So it started AGAIN and now they're nearing the end of this "final and last" round.

Who knows what'll happen next. But the fact is that they're at least a year away from opening the new building, if they ever do - and that's regardless of fundraising successes or failures.

New England Scios, Anons and Exs have been hiding from their phones for a decade allready and there's no end in sight.

Hmmm does 20 SO EPFers sleeping on the floors doing MEST work every day for 30bucks a week wages constitute a loophole in this Hill 10?

If so, CLO EUS is on it and routing all hands EPF crews to the site to waste their time there instead.

Any EX'es or Anons that happen to go by the Ideal Morgue.........keep your eyes open for any signs of any activity going on over there.

I imagine they'll start soon on this building if they haven't already. Doesn't sound as though the city of Boston is going to be that patient.
 
Boston Ideal Org Photos - update

I knew I'd be passing through the neighborhood of the newly purchased (Jan. 2008!) building so I made sure to bring my camera. There are a couple of hair dressing establishments on the first floor but other than that you can see from the photos there are nothing but boarded up windows.

Here's an article from the neighborhood paper (Nov. 2, 2010) that indicates the permitting process is moving forward. No word on funding the project. Hmm...
