Perhaps if they kicked everyone out and declared everyone left they could achieve 100% standard tech.

I think it is the why for Boston not booming (ever).

I can see the Primary Program Target now: Hand this program to your ethics officer to get done.

Operating Target: Declare all existing staff. Conditional: If public keep showing up, declare them as well.

VFP: 100% standard WHY finding achieved and a very relieved neighborhood.
I also heard that Mike and Devorah went out to LA. Heard that from Linda who was the Snr CS for BSND a few years back. She was going on and on about how messed up Mike was and how he screwed things up tech-wise.

Same old pattern. Tech doesn't work. Kick someone out or make them miserable enough where they finally leave. Blame them for the out tech. Tell everyone that now things are better and standard and we're doing things 100% KSW. Still doesn't work, lather, rinse, repeat.

About a year and a half ago I posted some photos of the decrepit building that was to eventually become the Boston Idle Org.

I've been wanting to get over there to take some updated photos to post here to show the progress. But then I think "Is this really what I want to be doing with my free time?" even though it's less than 2 miles from home. $2 says that the above link will be pretty accurate as to the current state of the building today except for the neighboring building (also bought as part of the project) which was ordered demolished by the city because it started to shed bricks onto the sidewalk.

Someone posted a newspaper article a while back that mayor Menino was going to put pressure on to do something with the building.

Anything happen with that?

Can't wait to hear the flaps that will arise from this.

The Execs in Boston are notorious pass the buck to some junior and then hang him when he doesn't get it done.

The telex lines will be smoking and the OT Committee will somehow inherit the problem.

Oh, and Kevin Hall is insane.

They'll start having Black Tie dinners again to squeeze the public for more funds.:coolwink:

... telex, not really?

And the other thing, hate to imagine the fully ripened state after years of incrementally increasing crazy.

Oh yeah. Kevin Hall.
I suppose nothing good can happen after decades in.

I mistakenly thought of Kevin Tighe.
Who I saw somewhere that he was declared.
But looks like an independent now.
That's only marginally better, but perhaps a stage in getting out.

I'm not positive but last I heard, Heather Landry was still the ED Boston Fdn.

A couple of years ago Kay Plasch was the ED Day but I don't think she lasted.

Why not call the org and just ask.

Still? :confused2: :duh:

I knew Lonnie back in 1976-77, right about when he started dating Heather. Was Lonnie the LRH Comm way back then? What is he doing now? I am talking back in the days when people like these were around: Don Currier, Bob Johnson (GO B1), Paul Discher, Laura Gettler, Kathy LaRosse (married Bob Johnson), Joan Gambino, Bessie Currier, Bill Bromfield (DG NE), Mike Alla, Richard Tinkelberg (FBO), Peter Graves, the Garritanos, Laura Crichton (examiner), Lorraine Barritz, Mary Antoniedes, Nick Petrunti, Tom Ford, etc.

And then there are all of the faces that flash through my mnd, but the names elude me. What was the name of the Hawaiian guy who was C/S? He had long unkempt hair. He had a girlfriend who was an auditor, and she always looked very "massy" (and had a bad temper).

On Heather Landy, I can't believe that some people have stuck around THIS long! :omg:

Re: Boston - 448 Beacon St - FWIW

Best I could tell this was just the auction of a menu of the Fox & Hounds Club which, probably a long time ago, was at 448 Beacon, current home of the Boston org. Winning bid was $7.99.

A postcard image of the club can be seen here:
http://vintagepaperandpostcards.com/products/item100832.html
which shows what looks to be the 2nd floor basic course room (last I knew) overlooking the river.

****
HOWEVER, I also came across this web site which seems to show the property up for sale for $12.5 million:
http://www.wickedlocalbostonhomes.com/content/boston-chateau-mansion-sale-125-million
Not sure of the date of the listing. Couldn't find much more info. on searching.

WE MISSED THE AUCTION!!!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fox-and-Hou...=&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

(Actually hoping for the foreclosure auction.... the price on this
beautiful property is now ONLY $10.5 Million)

Snap this one up - BEFORE DONALD TRUMP DOES!!!!

Kenny Sereno was the Snr C/S and his girlfriend was Vicki Lester who was an auditor. Kenny married Linda Puchek and had a son, Danny. Vicki left staff in about 1977 and married Don Dewsnap. I heard Kenny is in LA but I'm not sure. Last I heard Vicki was in Clearwater and would remember you if you contacted her http://basicglossaries.com/aboutus.htm.

Believe it.

Hello All! I recently got turned onto this site/thread by a good friend, and have now scoured over the entire Boston org historical odyssey.
I must say, that my almost completely missing name, from the day-staffers 'info about/requests', has me thinking that I must have done a very, very good job of remaining invisible, or at least below the radar of ethics spectacles (mostly...) and all the other sorts of fun one might have while staffing up there in Boston-'79-81 (I think). Paul Discher was CO then and I never got my mind around him. I actually lived with Nils Hansen and Phil Sherlock in the dreaded Hi-Fi tower/Central Sq. -top floor (only a million cockroaches up there). I also actually worked at Hi-Fi Pizza near the end, and previously, across the street from there at this middle-eastern restaurant and then at a place called 'TT The Bears' (as called back then). Cooking, was a great job to have when on staff - hunger was not a problem I shared with most other staffers...
Nils and Phil were both good guys. There were a couple of other transients at Hi-Fi RoachTower, I believe, but can't remember who. The building was riddled with other staff members who I never really got to know too well. This is the case with many of the folks mentioned here, but I was a young'in, and probably not privy to the finer aspects of mayhem and insanity occurring there. Yet I sensed it! I am thankful for this. Got out in 81 or so and moved to Philly to play in band for next 3 years. Then back to Chicago.
I was very good buds with Alan Klebs, (and Starr) - a fantastic piano player. (I'm a keyboardist/artist/freak of nature too) I often worked with him in the basics courseroom where we'd make up new and exciting co-auditing list for newcomers, and which seemed to work better than the prescribed ones...
It was Mark Bosserman, who was my probably closest friend while there, and who got me on staff. Think he's out in CA-on staff- last I heard from him (2004?)
Chris Garrison was also good friend, and sorta mentor. He had a great sense of humor, (twisted like mine) and thought him a very just human, with integrity such and so forth, and especially for my strange, renegade venture into adulthood, then via staffing in scion-day/LRH, bla, bla...
It's been sad to see that he's just an angry old guy now, but go figure, he's been in like 'forever' right?
I believe I do know some of those posting here, but probably not very well-and obviously same vice-versa!! Many silly stories from those days, but probably not as interesting as the real juicy tid-bits of which I was mostly unaware.
Most of the rest of my story, is in the Chicago-land area, and for another thread. There's really an endless amount to things to look back upon, regarding the whole sha-bang, but Boston was my only 'staff' adventure since and I'm so very glad of that fact...but then other 'public' nightmares back in Chicago...I think the high rate of divorce in this country, is mostly accountable to the church. Just my opinion, but really...
I just wanted to say howdy and best to all. Would love to get out to Boston sometime, as I've been saying for 30 years now, if only to eat cheesesteaks at Dino's all week, or drink some brews at Frank'N'Steins and chat with all ya.
Cheerio, RR

Hello Techless. Welcome
:) :heartflower:

To Techless:

Always a pleasure. Looks like you've got happy memories of the experience--it wasnt' all bad. Did you get declared?

I'm pretty certain Phil S is at Int. His name always shows up on the list. I don't know what happened to Nilsey. Pietrunti...I'm pretty certain he's public. I saw his name on a Flag completions list. Patti seems to know more about where different people are.

Techless,

Welcome!

I was a fairly active public when you were on staff and knew several of the people you mention. I certainly remember Hi-Fi Towers being full of org staff. I often felt guilty when I was downstairs having a beer with my pizza, fearing I'd get caught by someone coming or going to the org.

Techless,

You still playing? Was Chick Corea an influence on your Scn involvement? T/here are quite a number of talented musicians on the board., It's great to have another one. I keep thinking we should Get together an ESMB jam session...I wonder if there is an app for that?

Welcome
