Disconnection notice

Really well done for shoving that arrogance back in their face.
You'd think just a quick study of scientology would have been enough for someone to realise other people are capable of being self-determined and responsible about their friendships.
Being told to withdraw your support of someone you care about and wanting a damn good reason obviously doesn't "add up" to ethics officers. Well done for spotting the real SP.

Dear Tojo,

Please accept this letter as official notification of my total resignation from the Church of Scientology. I am unable to remain connected to an organisation that claims to protect Human Rights then turns around and inhibits those rights.

Just prior to my leaving, OSA accused two of my closest friends of posting on an "anti-Scientology" website and informed me they had been declared. When I asked for evidence of this act I was told I could go to the AO and see the MAA, the data would be sent to her from OSA. On arrival at the AO the MAA told me she didn’t want to show me this “evidence” and I let her know that I was not prepared to disconnect from my friends without this. I also told her that I wanted to go and speak with my friends face to face, this is a friendship that is over 31 years old, and she told me that would be fine. I later received an email from the MAA asking me not to go and see them, by this time it was too late as I had already made arrangements and was not prepared to change them.

Whilst at FLAG I did the Ministers Course and learned the creed verbatim and I seem to recall it saying that, and I quote, “All men have the inalienable right to think freely, speak freely and write freely their own opinions, and to counter, utter or write upon the opinions of others,” ref “Creed of a Scientologist.” There is no addition to that line of the creed that says “unless that opinion is about Scientology.” As I see it, condemning people that voice their opinions is in direct conflict with the creed, especially when there is no physical evidence that the people being condemned are responsible for what was said/written in the first place.

One of the people accused was Jenni Gibbons and I know for a fact that she had never, at that time, written anything on any website on the internet. She has however, since being falsely accused and wrongly declared, done so and quite openly, stating her identity in the very first part of her statement. It turns out, from what I’ve read and heard, that this false accusation and damnation is not an uncommon occurrence, I wonder how many others have been declared on what is obviously dodgy evidence.

The above situation was the final straw and culminated in my leaving, but this was not the only out-point I had noticed within the “church.” My experience as an OOT at FLAG was full of out-points and was the starting point for all my doubts about being connected to the “church.”

I was not going to contact anyone from the “church” but decided that I should at least write a disconnection notice; please consider this letter just that. I wish no further communication from anyone representing the Church of Scientology.

Hi there,
you may remember us, I was on staff in Sydney, & you worked with my hubby Dean at Leichhartd mission.

We got declared got declared SP because we dared to question management & left due to too many lies....... (as we have been told - never got a copy of the declare:omg: & not even 100% sure on what we were declared for)

big welcome to you :happydance: and believe me you will finally be freed from the out points and can just take with you yourself and what you know to be true.

This is a great & brave step as it once again proves the Orgs are not expanding especially Sydney. the more of us that make a stand the more of those who are stuck in will break free and continue to reveal the truth.

Hi, Miss Pert,

This is the very same issue over which I left the cult in 2000, getting expelled by them one year later.

They were angry that I was posting to and reading a critical forum on the 'net and I kept telling them they should honor their own creed. They don't, and, sad to say, there are some others who don't, either. All one can do is try to be true to oneself and this generally leads one out of the cult.

That was a great letter.

I'll have to use that quote in the future.

Someone should write a book about all the contradictions to show others that are on the fence about leaving.

Just since logging on this morning I have commented on three such contradictions.
 
I've found that spotting the contradictions in Scientology can be very therapeutic for a being.

Dear Cheryl, the creed is excellent and I fully endorse it.

However you are very naive to think it extends to Church Members!

Hi Cheryl,
I really admire your personal integrity in saying no and your willingness to go A-B on handling such an outpoint.

I left the co$ after 30+ years but it was a much slower process and quite difficult. The beginning of my awakening was when I was at FSO doing Solo Nots Certainty and I became BI's on the idea that this was the 2nd time I had to buy OT 6 & 7. I had the audacity to question why I was required to do this if the church really "delivers what it promises". Of course, no one had an answer for that. I have experienced over and over again that whenever I bring up a valid outpoint, I am viewed with a suspicious eye and am shunned -- sounds "cult-y" to me.

You and your friends rock! :thumbsup:
