Auditor's Toad ... now you've got me wondering if I knew you in the old days. No response required. You just sound like a 70s Scientology guy. I was in L.A. during those years.

TG1

Hey TG1...did we know each other? I was there, then, too.

Fill me in........you were here how long? Were you at CC?

Too fun.

Most likely. So many of us were on course together, filled in as a twin, etc, etc had so many PCs and so on.

Like there is a person that posts here that has a unique sense of humor that I've always felt only one person could have.....but to ask him would out him.

I was at the old CC downtown - early 70s-as public doing HQS & a few other courses.

Did more courses and internships on La Brea. Audited there.

Did Courses, etc at ASHO...audited a little there.

From AOLA went to flag for 4,5,6 & 7

and was out in '90
\

Me too, Auditor's Toad!!! Very similar
tracks..except you got out in 90, and I in 2000.

Do we know each other? Too fun. If you're here...let me know.
We can have a CC reunion.

Oh goodie some pictures. I was at CCLA in 1972 or 1973 for a 3 day visit. My good friend Spankie invited me down for a few days.

Wasn't there a gal named Valerie or summin who had beautiful reddish hair? Spankie had Valerie babysit me as she was busy most the day. But I walked around and made friends. At dinner we went to a Spaghetti place near Alvarado called "Spaghetti All-ready" My other friend and I got a "J" walking ticket there. The cop followed us inside "Spaghetti All-ready" asked us to step outside and gave us a ticket. Waaah!

Spankie worked for Axioms. She told me about the Saturday night Band concerts by Back Pocket and Heber Jench singing Old Blue, and of course Yvonne.

The fist time I was there they were putting down that crazy quilt carpet with all the triangular pieces. Different sizes and chunks of orange gold, blue, green shag carpet. I thought it was an ingenious design, but someone told me no, it was a bunch of free scraps from a carpet store. CCLA had no money for carpet.

Ahhh yes I was 20 or 21 my eyes were full of the magic that was CCLA. We were all for the most part so young in our 20s. And there was promiscuous somewhat secretive sex going on but mostly hidden so as to not provoke jealousy or ARC breaks. It was really just being considerate.

My friend Spankie was in the SO and found a house and a room upstairs I could sleep in. It was probably 811 Beacon. There were 4 or 5 single beds in the room. The room was freshly painted white. That was the first time I slept in a bedroom with 5 girls. LOL

Everyone was so sparkly eyed and fresh faced. Spankie introduced me to everyone she could. The girls were great they knew I was new and they would explain (R Factor) to me how to fold the blankets where to put my bedding in the morning, and where to get breakfast. The 3 days just seemed to blurr right by. I got volunteered to do several projects. I don't remember if I helped out on the carpet, but moving boxes, chairs and a desk and filing yes.

On the 3rd day I was "love bombed" and asked if I liked CCLA and my visit, shown a Billion year SO contract to consider on my PSA flight back home. I really thought I might sign it for a few days after I got home but, Nahh. I had a job and my family I was close to. Thank goodness.

Great memories. Wish I took some pictures.

Back in the 80's when swarms of people left the cult after the CofS's fiasco at the hotel Buenaventure in downtown L.A. in Sept. of 83, people had to endure the blind allegiance of Old Timers to LRH. They used to blot out any truths of what he'd become, preferring to think of him as the 'modest' caring, altruistic, selfless leader, necessity dictated he portray himself as, in order to get the cult underway. Many of these people died clinging to their image of good guy Ron.

Now, I read from two people how Yvonne Jentzsch was the most loving, giving, caring, nurturing, etc. they ever knew. Well, guess what...they didn't know her all that well. They knew the PR side she projected. Those of us who worked with her in the trenches, and felt her sting, knew the dark side. And it was pretty bad. But far be it from me to burst the bubble of anyone practising self delusion. The delightful cartoon character Mr. Magoo is almost blind. Mrs. Magoo is TOTALLY blind on the subject of Yvonne Gillham Jentzsch. So is Auditor's Toad. That's okay. You can have your fable. I'll keep telling the truth about her. She was nextdoor to a demon.

nobody, who grows and runs an organization like CC was, could do it without a backbone of steel. It is not denigrating to Yvonne to talk about her full personality.

she had Allan Kapular locked in the basement of AOLA for refusing to audit. He was worn out from too much push, she didn't take "no" for an answer.

right or wrong, she was one tough cookie

you take the bitter with the sweet if it is a part of the same package.

I think the carpet was more like 1971.

Spankie graduated high school in 1970?

LOL ! Sort of like my X wife that I refer to the time spent with her as WWIII and her next hubby dearly loved her.

Yvonne took a desk in a corner and turned it into a successfulClass IV org.
True, enough I knew her as a public not as an overworked underpaid staff member.
Not to say it the wrong way, but, as nicely as I can say it I never saw the wisdom of joining the SO or being conreacted staff. I understand those that signed that " billion year contract", uh, did so without any arm twisting from me - if you know what I mean.

Yes, I had an underage son bring home Sea Org contracts for us to sign. Yes, we ate at the Capatins Table and listened to Yvonne annouce to the staff our son had joined the Sea Org.

Was Yvonne perfect? Oh hell no. Did she get a whole lot more done than most people? Oh hell yes.

Did Yvonne wrangle me into delivering probably hundreds of hours in auditing in the HGC & of staff and I go NO pay ? Yep. But, she also made it so I could RIDIDI damn near everything not classified and get a Qual OK to audit it - and that made me lots more than the SO paid auditors.

So, it would be fair to say I fely I got more from Yvonne than I allowed her to 'take' from me.

It was my personal experience that many people held her in high regard then and still do now.

It is not my place to name names off that comp list that was published but I think most od 'em also held her pretty high regard.

I am going to once again publicly state that I hold Yvonne as one of the three finest people I have ever had the pleasure to know. And, I guess I have to point out in plain English that Yvonne wasn't perfect. ( Neither were the other two).

I love my wife dearly. I think she is a wonderful person - but she ain't perfect. She sometimes isn't even close to right.

To me, expection perfection in myself or another is a set up for certain failure.

In closing, I guess I have to accept that LRH built scn on the backs of others.

Perhaps my praise of Yvonne has ignored the huge - if not great -contributions made by the Staff of CC.

I still love Yvonne.

I spent a fair amount od time with her. I liked her. She did not seem to me to be into the arrogance of some of the gals that thought they well ' all that....and more'.

For the most part, I floated through on the old military thing of blend in ranks and don't stand out.

There was the high flying crowd, too.....I just never ran in those circles.

Hey, another name popped in my mind.....Harry Kaneer. I knew he routed out after the divorce and went into refinishing floors as a business. Anybody know where he is these days ?

Glad to hear Bob Riggs went back to doing what he so loved.

I think Joan Prather left James Fiduca ( hear he is still in ) to marry Robbie Levin. They left the cult. Think she currenly lives in Malibu and is married to a lawyer.

I still get letters to this day from Cathy Garcia at CC but I didn't do too much at ther Manor.

I heard Hector Carmona is still around and some people that post here are in touch with him......I'd like to be.

One of the difficulties for me is that there were some really really nice and wonderful people along the way and leaving meant losing them as friends but I had to live my life as I saw it. I do not regret leaving. I do regret having to lose good friends.

Weird "religion:, huh ?

Thanks, Looker. Yes, I agree, those were excellent days
and like being a Hippie in SF in the late 60's....I wouldn't miss either one,
if I had it to do again!

As you know ...I lived at 811 Beacon St right around then, too..so who
knows....maybe we do know each other. I was 22 or 23 by then...and filled
with dreams and hopes, and loved the people who were all there, esp the
musicians, of which there were many back then.

Spanky (How she spells her name) had been a great friend for me,
and many others. She's out for many, many years, fyi.

I remember those carpets, too: Not sure why that was such a memorable

CR,
Many of my dear friends are X-Sea Org who worked at CC...many
directly with Yvonne. So you can claim she was "next door to a demon",
and I'm sorry you had that experience, if so. ((I know C of $ has always
hated her--and tried to wipe out her image totally))

The people I know, who worked directly with her,
share my feelings about her, and they also worked
with her, as I did. My friends over the last 11 years often
come to my home, and share tons more great stories than I've posted here.

As I said, so sorry you were left with those bad memories. It is *not*
just some delusional "choice" I am taking. Agreed, I, personally, wasn't the

what I'm saying here.

My memory of those days is there were lots of different groups of people and none did I think of as " the in group".

It is amazing that Tory and I know so many of the same people, were in the same orgs at the same time and probably audited in the same HGC at the same time, but, we were never in the same 'group'.

I suspect she'd fall over laughing if we bumped into one another somewhere these days because I think she'd go " Oh, hell, we saw each other for years!"

Everybody was 'busy' doing what they thought was 'right'.

Staff appeared and disappeared. Policies appeared and disappeared. We never knew why and we damn sure learned not to ask.

Here on ESMB each of us is getting bits and pieces of what was going on behind the scenes or ' up lines'.

Kudos to those of you filling in the blanks!

I've made a number of posts here on ESMB re: Yvonne. Anyone is free to do a search and read them, disagree with them and dislike them. I'm not going to rehash or link them all here.

I knew Yvonne for over 10 years. I worked with and around her on a few occasions. Were were fellow "Flag Officers". The "Two CO's" story is true from what I know.

Irene Howey/Dunleavy/Dirman was very adept at cutting throats, knifing backs and lettin' good guys take the fall...I know, I saw it happen to others and it happened to me.

I'm sure that Yvonne had her dark side that manifested at times during her time in the SO...as did I and most likely some other of Y'all out there.

I saw plenty of World Class A**holes and mean SOB's in my time on Staff and as Flag Crew and, for my money, Yvonne was not one of them...far from it.

Anyone that ran an Org "back in the days" knows just how horrific and insane Senior "Management" was...the pressure was immense, incessant and brutal. You were never anything "better" than your last week and often times "worse"...especially a "Major SO Org".

Yvonne was one of the good guys, AFAIC. However, this is an open Board and anyone is free to disagree or to post their "Take" on Yvonne....as am I.

Sooooooooo true, Auditor's Toad!
I'm sure I would die laughing, once we actually saw each other.

And good point about "in the crowd"..that's why I said that.
I didn't really remember *an* "In crowd group"...it seemed
we all got along just fine, in and around one another.

That's why (for me) It was SUCH a shock, when in 1990, I finally
got onto OT 7, only to find it to be SO EXCLUSIVE.

"Oh no, you can't sit here--only people from NY can"

or
"Oh no, this area is just for Patrons"

It SUCKED big time..except for those really "in" and even for them,
because they were getting soaked for TONS of $$$$ all the time.

As I've said before, I actually turned myself into Ethics at Flag...
to talk with them about this.
"What the HEll is going on? This joint is the top of the Bridge, and they
are mostly a bunch of exclusive Ass holes"

The EO's: "We know. We've watched it. You are the first (and only)
person who has come to speak with us about this".

Their solution? "We do NOT know what to do".

Jeeeeeeeeeeeesh: And that was in the 90's...for peeps lurking.

It is FAR gone. Bail while you still CAN. :run:
