This is where you miss the whole point! You just don't get it.

History isn't a Republican thing or a Democrat thing. This is what I am talking about when I said you try to fit ideas into your narrow prejudiced framework.

History is all about what happened, why it happened, and what the ramifications of the events are. As such, ideological viewpoints color the relative importance that gets assigned to various bits of data, and more so to the various interpretations of why events happened the way they did.

History and ideology are intertwined, however much you may deny it. A large portion of historical revisionist scholarship involves reinterpreting the historical data from a different ideological perspective.

To a large extent, the dominant ideological perspective among campus social science academics is Democrat. Even that radical right-wing NY Times has to admit it. That lopsidedness cannot fail to color the academic discourse, particularly given the tendency of some on the left to refuse to grant any legitimacy to viewpoints from the other side.

Excellent!

Regarding the part where he lists items that are going up in price, food and energy are deliberately excluded from the calculation of the reported Consumer Price Index. This is good for those who want to report a low inflation rate, since gas is up 5.1%, fuel oil is up 11.8% (which is going to go over REAL well this winter for those who use oil heat). Fuel oil and diesel are essentially the same, which means that transportation costs are going to be higher. Used cars are up 12.9% (thanks to that program where the feds bought old cars and had them crunched). But inflation is not up enough to give old folks a social security cost of living increase as they freeze in their houses.

More horseshit. You've missed the point again.

I am not denying that historical interpretation has an ideological component; of course it does. Who discovered America depends on who you are.

What I have been pointing out that you have not understood or avoided is that you take simplistic snippets from history, take them out of context, and use these to support your narrow present time views.

So you are not really talking history or giving historical conclusiions. You are talking bumper sticker issues and claiming history supports your view.

Despite what you wish to believe there is no history that is conclusive. So when you use interpretations of history as a conclusive facts for your present time political or social views you are being foolish.

There are better ways to prove your point.

But since you never exhibit them, and you never actually demonstrate your points, and you don't really utilize history, and bring everything down to a Republican or Democratic view, I wonder how much of your own views are actually thought out and not just a repetition of the conclusions you've heard from others in the current media.

Meanwhile, you're not doing anything other than calling people names when you don't agree with them, yet have no reasoned arguments to make.

Pointing out foolish reasoning is not the same as calling people names.

Pointing out to you that you don't know everything and that you are not the person with all the right opinions is not calling you names.

Pointing out that there are people that know more than you about particular subjects is not calling you names.

Don't take it personal when someone challenges your lack of knowledge about a subject.

Pointing out that you should know what you are talking about is not calling you names.

It is advice.

I never claimed I was an expert, nor did I ever claim to know everything. I post my opinions, and then you have hysterics.
