In the execs office Gilbertson once pointed a gun at my face and squeezed the trigger.

I can't put a name with a face on that one. Does anyone recall a SO briefing (it may have been on film) about how making just one real OT would make it all worthwhile and that the general population of earth were minion?

I don't recall that name at all. But if you had had some really good Shaolin training, you might have pulled out your hidden sword and schlukkk! Hand with gun gone.

Thank goodness someone else remembers. I need to cry about this sometime, but no one not there could begin to understand. Your right about it marking this being like then end of joy and the beginning of a fear (or something-perhaps your term serious is more apt) that was unsharable with outsiders.

Didn't it seem to you that even though we were doing quite well as an org, the briefing was like we were being put on notice that we are screwing the place up and we better get with it?

Yes. I wish I could find that film...to play over again....and again...or present as evidence in some post - vitro hearing of some sort. Just thinking (typing) about it makes me want (need) a cig.
 
Ol' tulpa Hubbard's inventing of his "Sea Org" in a fit of clusterfuck madness actually came out rather well. The "Sea Org" was so fucked up it really helped bring about the inner and outer destruction of the moonchild cult.

Back in my jolly ol' weapon days I had a different discipline: All weapons shall be fully ready to go at all times.
