What's new

I AM A CHRISTIAN SCIENTOLOGIST

I thought about what you said. But, I just see a spirited discussion here. I don't really see anyone being offensive just because they might not understand or agree.

Hey, what do you think about this?

I am both a psychiatrist and a scientologist.

I prescribe psychotropics by day and I am on the SHSBC Foundation hours. Sometimes when my pc bogs on a correction list I give them ECT in session to get them F/Ning again.

I mean REALLY! Why pretend that Scientology is compatible with the Bible. It just seems silly to me.

It may amuse you to note that there was a psychiatrist who was an active Scientologist for many years. His name was Dr. Frank Gerbode. He was also the Palo Alto, CA Mission Holder, and left the Church in 1982 after the Mission Holder's conference. He backed or was helping with Mayo's AAC (Advanced Ability Centers, an Independent Scientology group) venture, and later formed Metapsychology as an applied form of a generic "metapsychology", borrowed from Freud's term of the 19th Century.

I am amazed you can hold two polarizing neo religious concepts in juxtaposition and combine them. Kind of like making goulash from spaghetti and pop tarts. That takes quite a bit of weaving to make a unified tapestry of the two to put it in another frame of reference. But, good for you as maybe you're on to something so far beyond my frame of reference that, If you're right, I've totally missed out on the unified concept that could have saved my soul from forced reincarnation into a world I'm weary of...

Couldn't you be a Christian without being a Scientologist? :)

What is eg with the Christian "law": "You shouldn't lie"! How much I had to lie as Scientologist. How much lied Hubbard !!!

It doesn't figure.

That's an interesting question. Once a Christian friend of mine said "Pip why do you have to be a Christian Scientologist, why cann't you just be a Christian" I replied "I could no more be a Christian than I could be a Scientologist" at which time both of these identities vanished.

Man, you ARE a well-trained Scientologist!

How so?

You make sense of what is actually largely nonsense.

I live in the Bible Belt, and I hear these Bible-Bots routinely spew out, "the Bible says . . . . ". They are insane with THAT just as were/are Hubbard and Scientologists with the similar - "if it isn't written it isn't true" - "what does Ron say?" - "what is the reference"? Well, I hate to blow your bubble but there is MUCH "that is written", that is NOT TRUE!

This sort of attitude reminds me of the pictures of Hasidic Jews combing through various religious volumes, studying WORDS and SIGNIFICANCE for YEARS. Read, read, read, and take "what it says".

"This reference says this", and "that reference says that". And, for the most part, the words and IDEAS therein connect up to almost NOTHING outside of your overactive imagination! Such is the nature of excessive "thinkingness" (something participation with Scientology exagerrates).

Such is the sorry state of a fair majority of Earth humans. :omg:

Scientologists, and some over-the-top Christians, more often than not, exist largely within their own self-created imaginations (imaginations fueled of course by the spoken and written words of some all-knowing "authority").
The Bible Bablers from Bable On that populate the Mid-West might just have the missing tech we've all been looking for in their copy/paste rip off of all the middle eastern manna inspired bableology that came before we had science. But, then again, maybe I'm one of those who are missing the Ark...

Pip, I am a Christian but I left Scientology many years ago, in 1973. This was before the really bad abuses and RPFing and all.

I do not understand how you could be a Christian and aware of these abuses and still call yourself a Scientologist. Or even be in any agreement with the policies or tech of the CO$.

Love & Light,
Pat

I can never stop "knowing in the fullest sense of the word through study". I would join the CofS tomorrow but only as a Christian Scientologist but at present they find that unacceptable.

I will support yours, or anyone's, right to be a Christian Scientologist, Muslim Hindu whatever you feel works for you.

But
You state: "I would join the CofS tomorrow"

Pip, no person who truly lives their Christian belief would actively seek to become a member and, therefore support, any organisation that they KNOW (and I am assuming that you are very aware of the nature of this church) uses slave labour. Abuses staff to the point that it would be deemed torture (denial of sleep, physical abuse), enforces abortions on staff members, splits up families, encourages divorces, covers up paedophilia and blames the child. It just doesn't gel with living in the spirit of Christ.

And that is just some of the things this organisation does to it's staff. Then there is another long list of things it does to it's followers and detractors.

I just do not understand how you can profess your Christianity and the only reason you don't support this foul organisation is because they don't want you!

Prove it.

Also, what about Hubbard saying Jesus was in cahoots with this guy:

If Pip identifies himself as a Christian, who am I to say otherwise? But people trying to understand his viewpoint should be aware that the particular kind of Christianity he mentions is Unitarianism. That's a church with a really broad set of beliefs — even Anglicans (Episcopalians in the US) look like fundamentalists in comparison. So it's not as though Pip is claiming to be a Roman Catholic Scientologist, or a Southern Baptist Scientologist. Trying to catch him out in some contradiction with orthodox Christian doctrine is going to be pretty wide of the mark. If he considers himself UU more than anything else, then what he means by Christianity may well not be in any conflict with Scientology. And if you want to say, "That doesn't count as Christianity!", well ... I guess Benedict XVI doesn't just tweet, now. He must post on ESMB.

I spotted this thread and found it very interesting. I am a Christian EX-Scientologist.

I had been a Scientologist for nearly forty years. I was in the Sea Org from 1979 until 1991. I was trained as a NOTS auditor and CS and had reached the level of OT5.

Before the Sea Org I was on staff at a class 4 org where I audited Dianetics, the grades, and other lower level auditing.

After I left the Sea Org in 1991 I was inactive as a Scientologist but still considered myself one. This all changed in 2009 when I started reading information about Scientology on the internet. I watched all of the St. Petersburg Times interviews with the disaffected Scientologists. I continued to visit various websites on the internet which gave viewpoints different from the official "Church" websites.

My wife and her family have always been Christians and while I was not, I still respected their beliefs but always felt a definite superiority over them having studied and believed in Scientology for so long.

I was reading a lot of information on Arnie Lerma's website and ran across a testimony written by Gary Weber who was an Ex Go staff member who left and later became a Christian.

http://www.lermanet.com/garyweber/

After reading Gary's story I wanted to talk to him so I emailed him and we spoke on the phone and then made a date to have lunch. We each shared out experiences in Scientology and spent several hours talking. I asked him a lot of questions about his belief in Christianity and told him that my wife and her family were Christians.

I told him about a man I had met by the name of Robert Nease who was a Christian and asked me to read some Bible scripture. I began reading the book of John in the New Testament. After several meetings with Robert he directed me to John 3:16 and challenged me to memorize it. I took him up on the challenge and did memorize the passage which I then decided to accept as my own.

John 3:16-17 "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son so that anyone who believes in him shall never perish but have everlasting life." "For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world should be saved through him."

I still have lunch with Gary every once in awhile and always enjoy talking with him.

I have read a lot more of the Bible and scripture and often attend church with my wife and son. I enjoy being Christian and an Ex-Scientologist. The two subjects are almost opposites IMHO.

Hubbard slandered Christ and has made various statements denying him and other statements stating that he was a pedophile and prone to outbursts of rage.

Hubbard told us all to write up our OWs and gave the auditor the authority to "forgive our transgressions" rather than God.

Hubbard also made certain that as Scientologists we did not pay much attention to the eighth dynamic "God" and tried to get us all to believe that as an "OT" we would all be like God whereas the Bible proclaims that there is only one God.

Hubbard even tried to steal the ten commandments when he published "The Way to Happiness" which is just an edited version of the original commandments in the Bible.

I am no longer a Scientologist independent or otherwise. I am a Christian and it works for me. I am happier than I have ever been while in the C of $ and with all of the knowledge that I have I can't see how anyone can be a Scientologist and a Christian at the same time as the second post on this thread by Emma points out.

Thank you to everyone at ESMB for all of your viewpoints, advice, and wonderful stories. And thank God for the freedom of religion.

I have decided to "come out of the closet" since a guy from Canada phoned me as a result of my websites: www.christianscientology.info or www.christianscientology.co.uk I have not updated them for sometime but as a result of getting in com. with him it has encouraged me to persist.

I know some of you have a back-off from God and "all that", but on the basis of the "bigger the ARC the bigger the ARC break" I would rather be honest from the beginning than pretend I am something I am not.

I am "born again" and also "Clear" which I maintain is an unstoppable combination.

Funny, when LRH said there is no Jesus.

" Clear" has proven to be a no start ( ain't happened ) so being "unstoppable" is pretty darn hilarous being it never was.

Combination......yeah some stuff got "combined" there:duh:

Hey! Now we are getting somewhere.

Can you tell more about that "they find that unacceptable"? Sounds very interesting....

My latest Com.Ev. SNR HCO UK EO 521-1 22nd July 2003 found me guilty. The first paragraph (A) in the findings says "When asked about his interest in Scientology and his application of the technology of Scientology, Pip stated that he would want to modify some of the references, if he were to apply them, and he therefore did not agree to apply them exactly as written". The findings went on to (I) three pages later. But the day was lost at (A). What I said was that The Bible was now my final authority and that was not about to change. I see the committee were Ian Lazenby, Maggie Blunden, Shaun Machin and Jemima Beaton. If any of them are reading this please feel free to get in touch - my landline is 02392 666650.

"You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor" is one of the Ten Commandments.

I suppose the Church of Scientology gets around this with the excuse, "well, he doesn't live NEXT DOOR, so technically, he or she is NOT my NEIGHBOR". So, I can LIE all I want about him or her! :confused2:

Hubbard wrote Fair Game, and all the policies on enemies and SPs. He wrote the TR-L (lying) drill for staff to practice and follow. THAT is "Scientology Dogma". It is entirely NOT able to coexist with the above notion of NOT telling lies. Other than in someone's very strange imagination - an imagination that largely discards all notions of logic, sense and reason (something over-indoctrinated Scientologists are well trained to do).

Lying is a creative act even though it be a very low level of creation. No-one has to lie, it is a choice we make, probably because we are not creative enough to tell the truth.

Jesus said, "my kingdom is not of this earth".

Hubbard said ""Make money. Make more money. Make others produce so as to make money. However you get them in or why, just do it."

SP Heretic x6

He did indeed. There is nothing wrong in making money, because there is nothing wrong with money. It is the LOVE of money that is the problem. When making money becomes more important than anything else. Its a trap that lies in wait for each of us.

Can I get these SP/Heretics cancelled if I can get two more sixes?

Next one:
"Liebe deinen nächsten wie dich selbst" "You shall love your neighbour as yourself"

The German translation ist a little bit different, we don't talk about "neighbours", we talk about people that are "next" to us, that can eg be the women in the car behind me...

This believe can also not coexist with Scientology and Hubbards policies on enemies...

Speaking of different translations, the French have "The debonaire will inherit the earth".

Funny, when LRH said there is no Jesus.

Combination......yeah some stuff got "combined" there:duh:

No, he didn't. He said there was no CHRIST. Which means no messiah, no god, that Jesus was just a man.

Jesus of Nazareth' name was never Christ. That is a title meaning "Anointed one".
