What's new

I AM A CHRISTIAN SCIENTOLOGIST

Petey, while I pretty much agree with all you say here I'm not quite ready to "give him a break". And it is not anything personal towards him; I don't dislike him at all. Actually I admire his persistence on this thread and his unwillingness to compromise with his personal beliefs. I'm all for freedom of religion and really could care less what his or anyone on the board's religious beliefs may be. I don't choose my friends based on their religious beliefs.

But still I am not at all ready to "give him a break". Pip is going way beyond simply expressing his religious beliefs. He is (via his websites linked to in the OP) promoting ChristianScientology as "the religion of the 21'st Century". And I would be totally fine with him doing so IF he would give people a warning about the insane criminal organization known as the CoS. To promote scientology in any form without warning about the current organization could set someone onto a path which results in destruction to themselves as well as their family.

Pip, as it stands now, you don't issue not even one word of warning on your webpages or blog as concerns the CoS. Maybe you are not totally aware of the nature of the CoS. If that's the case than there is a treasure of information here on ESMB and elsewhere on the net. You don't seem the type that would intentionally send others into harms way. But by promoting scientology as part of ChristianScientology without any warning labels there is a real risk that someone can be hurt.

Put some realistic warnings onto your promotional sites and I then will be more than happen to give you a break.

I don't see ANY compatibility between scientology and Christianity. That's pretty obvious I'm sure from my previous postings. And you probably won't see me coming into your ChristianScientology Church anytime soon.

But if you adjust your promotional materials as suggested above I'll fully support your freedom of religion.

Thanks for your post Type4_PTS, and I do understand where you are coming from. I know from a human point of view the CofS can appear a very damaging organisation but when I look at the calibre of the people on ESMB I see real survivors. We all got into Scientology of our own free will, and I believe we are better people for our experience. I have been beaten up, kidnapped, tricked, publically declared insane and had my friends turn their backs on me, but I am still here and enjoying life. It is not for us to stop people getting involved with the CofS, our job is to offer them a better alternative. The last thing I want you to do is "give me a break". The only people I would like to "give me a break" is the CofS, and so far that does not appear to be about to happen. I make no secret of it - I promote ChristianScientology as an alternative to the CofS.

There is an interesting verse in Matthew 5 v39 where Jesus says resist not evil or in more modern versions do not resist an evil person. Some Christians are amazed when I point out this verse, but the fact is, when we resist evil we energise it. The CofS resists Psychiatry which only antagonises the whole mental health scene, which in turn restimulates the Scientologists.

Scientology is a soulish organisation and as such its raison de'tre is survival, and so it will fight to the death.

A wild animal was never tamed by attacking it, any entity bent on survival can only be tamed by love and understanding. ChristianScientolgy has nothing to do with religion as man would define it, it is religion as God would define it. James 1v27.

Spot on AnonKat,...however the 50ties did have a good side....if you were white. To be anything else in the America of that time, especially black, was a nightmare. Street drugs were mostly unknown. Crime was only a fraction of what it is now. Earrings and ponytails were exclusively the province of females. Smog was only just beginning to be a problem. There were few if any animals on an endangered list., and people could still be shocked by shocking news. Alas, no more.

The shmuck who put in Under God into the pledge of Allegiance was Eisenhower. I resented it at the time. But we were at variance with an atheist regime, the USSR, and we wanted to make a point...I guess. This is a tasteless age. The humor is so inferior in TV sitcoms, the 'stars' are all small. The age won't support legends as it once did. Yes, I remember the 50ties with fondness. But as you pointed out, many had reason not to.

Add to this the fact that the music industry is owned and controlled now by multinational corporations and has killed off Rock and Roll. When is the last time you heard a new song come out that is in the same league as songs during the 50's, 60's & 70's. I guess rock star cultural icons became too great a threat to the new world order. Rap, with its war like beat is not subject to copyright infringement lawsuits, being it's all based upon the same rhythm minus melody formula. The music industry promotes this crap now instead of anything of any true artistic value. Come to think of it, Hollywood seems deader than a doornail too. The multinationals killed our culture by eliminating all cultural icons that could rally us.

Good point about the internet, now no one get financially compensated for their songs as they get immediately uploaded to the internet. I like how Fergie dares inject actual melody over top of the generic rap voices of the others, so I guess that makes them Hip Hop with their crossover style.

Pip, we can learn through our own experiences or alternatively through the experience of others that have already traveled that path which we are considering ourselves.

If you tell your story broadly you may help others in the future to avoid being beaten up, kidnapped, tricked, publicly declared insane, and have their "friends" turn their backs on them.

Great that YOU are still here and enjoying life. Not everyone who got involved with the CoS can say the same. Some had their families destroyed or their lives ruined in some other way. Some have been illegally imprisoned for 5-10 years on the RPF. Others have been mentally abused to the point where they lost their sanity. And yet others paid the ultimate price and are no longer with us.

So Pip, not ALL of us are better for our experiences within the CoS.

For you to promote scientology in ANY form and fail to fully inform others about the negative experiences that you and others have experienced is irresponsible.

Even though you're promoting an alternative to the CoS, can't you see how by someone seeing the promotion for ChristianScientology that someone might get interested in Scientology and walk into a CoS out of curiosity?

But you don't feel any responsibility to warn someone about this organization?

Actually we derive our "for the greater good" concepts from humanism which predates all phases of Middle Eastern Religion such as Judaism. Christianity & Islam. These copy/paste plagarists merely retraced concepts that predate Socrates, Plato & Aristotle, not to mention Asian influences such as Confucianism, and took credit for them all. A literary style that caught on with Elron.

Most of them were Congregationalist, Episcopalian, or Presbyterian.

There were two that we might call non-Christian deists: Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin.

I agree seperately they are indeed cults, but together they make a completion - LOVE and UNDERSTANDING.

You know, promoting Love and Understanding is something I can get behind, especially with folks who have been abused by what they consider to be their "religion", as Ex Scientologists have been. :)

Peace. :)

Oooookay, guess that makes my kicking the living shit out of evil people sort of bad eh... :(

I hate to pick on confused people but damn, the mix of fucked up and olden-time fucked up, erm, just doesn't mis well.

Hate to say it, but ya'll got some growing to do, so don't take this as an affront, but rather a gentle mockery.

Cheers!

Tut,tut. John Adams and John Quincy Adams were Unitarians. Unitarians have the good sense not to believe that Jesus is a diety. And they deny the Trinity.

Scn. and Jesusology together make Love and Understanding???? Hey Pip, I've got a bridge in Brooklyn I can sell you real cheap. It'll go great with your barge.

I liked the article "DID THE CRAZY EGYPTIANS JUMP START ARMAGEDDON?" the best. My wife is Colombian and like her family and countrymen, thought of themselves as being of pure Castillian Spanish stock, not having a clue that her family comes from the massive ethnic cleansing of Muslims being forced to convert to Christianity during the Spanish Inquisition. So I bought her the DNA test from DNATribes.com and she found she's from the Ottoman invasion of Europe and is a mixture of Kurd, Turk, Egyptian, Pakistani etc. That's what's misleading about hispanics is that they seldom have much actual Spanish in them. Hispanics are a nomadic Middle Eastern culture with middle eastern values, temperaments and are typically as fervent Christians now as their ancestors were fervent Muslims. Middle Eastern religion and it's offshoots, wars, horrors etc. are just something I want no part of.

Don't omit the fact that since their Muslim days they've become experts at slithering under fences. An Arizonan

Every morning my wife and I spend a short time reading the bible and we find this very helpful. This morning we read "Whoever lives in love, lives in God". I can't think of a better definition of O.T.

I just can't say it any better than this:

Very interesting video - it links in with "The Law of One".

Moses was a priest in the temple of RA. The obelisks, one on the banks of the River Thames and one in Central Park, once stood at the front of the temple of RA. To think that Moses may well have touched them way back then. The 'gods' that came to earth at the time of the Egyptians were from the 4th Dimension according to The Law of One

It is my firm conviction that everyone is where they are because that is where they need/want to be. Of course my heart goes out to all those who are suffering for whatever reason, but if we are going to be godlike that means being "dispassionate. I believe dwelling on the negative things one has experienced or warning others about them is neither productive or loving.

The only person who has responded to my site so far is a guy in Canada who is very excited at the possibility there could be "a ChristianScientology Org." as he puts it. Since I subscribe to the idea of karma it is not for me to attempt to change another's destiny, all I can do is encourange them, to raise their awareness and that is done with love not fear.

Someone who "Pukes" is obviously sick, and "Sickness equals P.T.S." Perhaps you would like to tell me who is unmocking God. :duh:

SweetnessandLight you are a breath of fresh air. If Christian Scientists had not lost the plot Scientology would never of taken off in the first place. History attests that everytime a cult is pulled down, another one takes its place, usually more obsessive and abusive than the one it replaces.

Pip, you present several interesting points of view. I wonder if you are not in fact a Christian Science Scientologist.

A few more questions:

1. If God dwells in Heaven, and you are in Heaven having a dream of a human life, then is not God dreaming you?

Who is the one dreaming you now Pip?

2. Is there only ultimately God dreaming?

If so, is the Dream itself error?

If so, why is a Perfect God having a dream of error?

3. LRH said the primary error was that thetans thought they were one. Contrast this with Christ whose goal is to make all of us One in God. Is Scientology therefore Satanic because it forbids Unity, or Oneness, with God?

Hi J. Swift

I have now had a reply from my friends on the Course in Miracles board. I am posting it here in full.

Regards, Pip

"Hi Pip

I have answered as I saw

A friend has written to me on another board and asked me the following questions and I was at a loss to answer them, I wonder if anyone could help me. He writes:-

1) If God dwells in Heaven, and you are in Heaven having a dream of a human life, then is not God dreaming you?

God is Heaven............Infinite Love ....... Easier if you think of God as the Infinite thought of LOVE that we all dwell within. God maintains OUR REALITY and thus in awareness of Heaven nothing has changed and God and His Son are ONE. That is why we are "saved" and none can fail.

2) Who is the one dreaming you now Pip?
That which dreams does not exist.......There is no me/ you / and never has been.

3) Is there only ultimately God dreaming?
No, the Son dreams, not the Father.

4) If so, is the Dream itself error?
When you "awaken" you will realise that nothing ever happened .. you wont remember the dream ......

5) If so, why is a Perfect God having a dream of error?
He isnt .... that applies to both God the Father and God the Son .... Because God the Father as "Source" Creator did not accept the sons error ... the Son has not errored........... error however is useful thought here until forgivness is completed and then there will be no use for forgivness.

Thanks
Pip

In Love

Tony"
