There are 10 Sea Org members on post, working 80 hour weeks.
10 of them in the "Public relations" OSA INT offices.
Their burden is to create Good "PR" for the Church.
So the "Church" will not change policy on internal abuse, sadism, raping $$$$ from Public, and all the other numerous scams but figure that ~~
800 hours a week of slave labor will get them good PR.
I need to make a donkey page for these 10 ~~

Department of Lying... exactly!! I think that may be what I dislike most about the cult. I know there are numerous horrific atrocities, but it is just the consistent, continuous lying that annoys me the most on a day to day basis.

It is a common idea in the real world that the "cover up is often worse than the crime itself". Look at Nixon with Watergate, or Clinton with the cigar-lady (what's her name . . . Monica).
It is the lying, the deception and the constant complicated contriving that REALLY makes them look like assholes. People have a fundamental abhorrence to lying and deceit. Yet, the Church of Scientology keeps at it, day after day, week after week, month after month, and year after year. Why? Because it is "per LRH policy" to do so!
THAT is something the Church of Scientology has down to an institutionalized art - lying. In fact, they are probably the ONLY group on the entire planet, not to mention "religion", that has an exact DRILL teaching and training staff members HOW TO LIE EFFECTIVELY (TR-L).
It is totally justified within the Scientology ethics system to LIE, or even HURT ANOTHER, if it forwards the goals of the Church of Scientology (make money, keep making money). All ethics, and all concepts of right versus wrong, are relative to just one thing in Scientology - the survival and success of the Church of Scientology. In Scientology there is no other "moral compass" except Scientology itself. If the act helps Scientology - it is "good". If the action harms Scientology in any way - it is "bad". That is the TOTALITY of Scientology Ethics.
LRH policy sets their behavior in stone, so that they cannot ever adapt to changing new situations. They will eventually die and become extinct due to this inherent inability to ADAPT to the environment. Hubbard somehow imagined that his edict to "never alter" and "perfectly apply the tech" would somehow keep them alive forever. When in fact, reversely, this refusal to change will be their downfall. And THAT is built directly into the philosophy of Scientology. Scientology itself contains the pattern for its own necessary demise.

yep, and right in there is one of hubbards axioms of comparing data. In the real world this is called having a choice, or no monopoly. But yet in KSW one is not allowed to compare scientology to another religion or practice. LOL

Scientology's "Department of Lying" (OSA) not only reminds us of an Orwellian dystopia (Ministry of Truth), it is a real nightmarish agency that the cult uses every single day to destroy innocent people who are guilty of nothing more than telling the truth.

Better yet (I am dreaming, I know) would be a collaborative book that included Marty Rathbun, Tommy Davis, Heber Jentzch and other former "PR" operatives of the half-century crime wave known as Scientology.

Outstanding! I just posted something about TR-L before I read your post.
TR-L is the elephant in the auditing room that the worldwide media has not noticed yet. It's fascinating how it has remained hidden from view--perhaps a testament that the cult has lied about TR-L itself and that telling outrageous Big Lies sometimes actually works to delay the timely discovery of human rights atrocities.

I agree with you, and I think the Lying Tek deserves a thread.
We see Judges and so on find them lying, but the policy of lying does need more exposure. People need to know this is how they do things. It all starts with a lie. Even the free 'personality test' is rigged, the first of many lies.

If I ever win the lottery I will put up billboards along every major highway in the USA displaying a copy of Hubbard's TR-L, with a brief explanation of HOW the Church of Scientology trains its members to LIE using this drill.
Somebody should make a website with this and all other related policies by Hubbard that justify and encourage LYING as a matter of routine behavior. And connect this idea to other related ideas in Scientology such as the pivotal status of the survival of the Church of Scientology as the senior criteria for ANY choice. Show the details of the list of Suppressive Acts, that makes it obviously clear that the ONLY criteria for right and wrong in Scientology is whether or not any action helps or hinders the Church of Scientology.
There are just so many obvious instances of bad behaviors by the Church of Scientology that stem directly from key LRH orders and policies.
It is so very easy to show. For example, after explaining all about the primary senior policies of Scientology (always protect and defend Scientology, fair game, hurt another in a just cause, TR-L, tell an acceptable truth, etc.), show the video of Tommy Davis DENYING disconnection. Then show 10 or 20 testimonials of real life examples where disconnection exists - RECENTLY! Cripes, I have a letter from son from 10 years ago when he wrote to me telling me that he wouldn't speak to me until I got back into good standing! It is so easy to show WHAT they do, HOW they do it, and WHY they do it. This example of Tommy Davis LYING is just one of many examples. Scientology is bursting at the seams with such sickening examples of deceit.
Tommy Davis stands up, acting all righteous and indignant, LYING THROUGH HIS TEETH, stating that "disconnection does not exist". He put on a really good "show" of it. But, as with so much of Scientology, it is all make-believe and fabricated pretense. It is pretending to be things that one is NOT. It involves systematic and continuous LYING. By plan, by design, per LRH policy. It is all carefully and entirely orchestrated.

A footnote on the Department of Lying. . .
Scientology's (financial) success has been fueled for the most part by its greatest asset. Lying.
The lying began with the 4th word in the title of the first book: Dianetics The Modern Science of Mental Health. The entire book is a thickly interwoven fabric of pseudo-scientific-sounding deceptions to support a lie called "Clear".
Naturally, the cult of Scientology doesn't call lying "lying" because.....um, they are liars! LOL. They have plenty of other semantic subterfuge and ways to describe (and justify) their incorrigible lying. Some of the better known ones are:

Hey, but he has already given filmed interviews where he confessed to lying about the beatings at Int. Did you ever see that older footage when he was a skinny, hollow-eyed cult member lying to the camera about Miscavige and the beatings? In the newer interview, Mike explicitly said that he was lying in that older footage.
Marty and Mike have talked about their own lying. just not expansively. And it's never been consolidated into footage that evidences the overwhelming, compelling and undeniable fact that Scientologists are trained (and expected) to lie.

Karen, I don't want to be critical of your fine videos - but the Tommy Davis / Martin Bashir interview, to me, was not as clear an example of a blatant lie as the "there is no disconnection" statement by Tommy on CNN. Perhaps, because I, being disconnected from, have more reality on it, it means more to me than Tommy and Martin bull baiting each other. What was shown was sensational, but off point.
I think I would have run Tommy's CNN statement, followed by Paul Haggis's statement (letter) on Tommy's lie about disconnection. That to me, would be more on point, and Tommy being dead agented by Paul is powerful stuff. I don't know if it is too late to edit it, but if it is, perhaps there could be a church of lies part 2.
Anyway, please continue your good work. I very much enjoy them.

That's actually a fantastic idea, Hoaxie!
There is a huge need for such a video.
When I was talking to the Security Guard at PAC when I was there protesting with Tori, he did not believe there was any such thing as TR-Lie. He said, "That's just not true." I told him, "I've star-rate checked my DSA on it. I've drilled it with her," and he looked shocked and truly shaken.
More Scientologists need to understand that this issue and standard operating basis not only exist but are the modus operandi of the cult to this very day.
