"OT 8s" were ordered by "Chairman of the Board" to take posts in Class V orgs to "Boom" the Org.
Liz Baybak, dutifully did her staff member stint at Los Angeles Org and fled the moment the contract was up.
Lis Baybak, wife of one of the biggest whales ever, Michael Baybak.

Their 4 boys are Sea Org or Staff and Liz and Michael no longer live together as man and wife.

Escape from a Cult is never easy.
In the Cult of Scientology, it has been a practice of tracking down the escapee like a hounded animal and bringing them back to the campus. This is founded on fear of what the escapee will reveal of what goes in behind the guard gates and their intense "Security"

Thank you so much for telling us what happened, Claire Headley! Kudos to you and Marc for pulling that off despite the obstacles. Looking forward to the next installment!! Again, thanks to Jeffrey and Karen for providing us with excellent videos demonstrating the facts about the experiences of Sea Org and staff members and the dangers of Scientology.

What you said.

Another fantastic story by Claire and I was totally tracking with her from my experience.

I blew from the SO but I was low level and just involved. Had 50 bucks in my pocket to make down south to a relative. And I was shitt'in in my pants the whole time.

And I too called the SO say'in I blew, what do I do to get back in standing proper, doing the A-E.

And I went back on staff. :melodramatic:

No RPF, just sec checks.

From yours, Claire's, Marc's and others stories of exiting or trying to, I can see that the pressures and fears are enormous. Thanks for sharing that. So glad you finally got out!!

yes, the fears are enormous. I can not describe it other than like a movie, like the movie Alien, the fear of the unknown is unbelievable. You are being chased, and you have to somehow figure it out along the way.

I do believe every escapee from scientology is similar, do a greater or lessor degree.

Or like the movie Shawshank Redemption where you become institutionalized.

When I blew I was just a member of public at a Class 5 org yet I still had the fear of knowing they would come after me.

Blowing from the Sea Org Int Base must take that fear to a whole new level.

Jeffrey Augustine explains why the Church of Scientology's 1993 tax exemption was not an exceptional event as the Church makes it out to be. Essentially, tax exempt status is not a "Seal of Approval" by the US Government. Tax exempt status simply means a group has met certain criteria to qualify for exemption.

Tax exemption merely and only proves that the Church of Scientology is tax exempt; it is not in any way a government approval or endorsement of Scientology.

put Lermanet.com secret agreement into google

it's been there since 1997

Thanks for posting this.

The number of times the word "Church" (with corporate Scientology referred to simply as "the Church") is used, and the number of times the words "religious," "parishioners," and "ecclesiastical" are used in this agreement, is quite something.

This agreement should not, but, in fact, has become, an endorsement of corporate Scientology as a "religious institution" by the United States government.

Sure, the IRS has no authority to decide what is not or is a religion but, in fact, it has done so anyway.

This is an example of Scientological slight of hand succeeding.

Perhaps someone can locate the video of Mike Rinder telling of the relief felt by corporate Scientology when the IRS agreement was finalized and the "umbrella of protection" was finally in place.

It's outrageous, but it happened.

And the ramifications were felt not only in the United States but around the word.

Karen, that was quite fascinating - especially the part about Scientologists not being able to claim that people did not have to convert from their original religion in order to be Scientologists. We told people this all the time when we tried to sell them books and services, and I think it was even in the Scientology Catechism. I wonder if it still is? But we were drilled on that so we knew exactly what to say to handle the objections of new public.

I am wondering, is there any way realistically that people can hold the IRS and Scientology to account for violating the terms of this agreement? It's great to point it out, but it would be fantastic if there was something we could do to force the IRS to revisit the agreement and Scientology to keep to the terms.

Do you and Jeffrey have any ideas on that? I would love to here what you guys think.

Thanks so much for all you are doing to educate the world about Scientology. I think you're fantastic!!

I've come to see it as there being a secondary wave of people who were not involved enough to be subjected to too many layers of hypnosis who primarily fed upon the energy of the hypnotized zealots who were and are the driving force of the cult with their "fixed dedicated glare" and wild assed "OT" success stories. I was in this group for the most part.
I've listened to Hubbard's measured, metered cadence of delivery during many of his taped lectures where he is clearly trying to "impinge" upon the audience in ways reminiscent of Hitler. Make them "aneten" by butchering the English language in DMSMH and they'll absorb the hook w/o ever knowing what hit them.

That (your first paragraph) is really interesting to me and makes a lot of sense.

"There will be no billion dollar tax bill which we can't pay."

I enjoyed this video, and it touches on some things that I have observed for many years. I remember the broken Christian cross, and staff members wearing a Priest's collar, and shirt. I remember the big necklace with a cross that they'd wear. It was all a lie, a costume that did not reflect their beliefs, but to lure others into a comfort that would increase the chances of the cult to extract money from people who didn't see the various levels of fraud.

Another thing I noticed was that if you took a class, you're simply taking a class, but they'd call you a scientologist. That's not correct. If I had believed that yawning meant without a doubt that you had just read a word that you didn't understand, then I would be. It seemed to me, the entire game was a matter of indoctrination and personality alteration.

The foundation of scientology is money and slave labor. Today, it is focused on money and a huge real estate portfolio. The palatial buildings are bought with high-pressure donations, and then taken by the head of the cult. It has nothing at all to do with spirituality, or religion.

There are many reasons it is not a church, in reality. One reason is Private Inurement. That is when a church takes money, does not use it for social betterment, but uses it for personal expenditures. http://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/what-is-private-inurement.html

Could scientology survive in any way, should they lose their non-profit status? I believe the answer is no. Property taxes, payroll, and lawsuits would kill it off completely in a year. This indicates that it's a scam, and not cherished and upheld willingly by society.

When they say that people of any religion are welcome, it's another level of fraud, just like wearing a Catholic Priest's collar. It is only there to get you to pay for books and classes. It's a disgrace. When the leader of the cult said: "There will be no billion dollar tax bill which we can't pay.", well, now he can. And I hope he loses that billion dollars to taxes, worker compensation, and lawsuits.

Purple . . . that part above I highlighted in red . . .

There is a smart smooth way to expose the fraud of that cult claim . . . .

Get someone on OT3 and above, and have them do a Catholic Church or other established true religion practice like "exorcism" and see how far the cult C/Ses will let you continue "mixing practices" by practicing and pursuing your prior to $cn religion :omg:

No bloody way, Mate! You'd find your arse in ethics and/or cramming before you could take your next deep breath!!!

I watched the video and I very much enjoyed it. Thank you Karen and Jeffrey for producing this. Scientology is not a religion no matter how many times they proclaim it to be. There is no worship of God or a supreme being. There is no benevolence given freely by the church. It is an organization and that is the term staff have used for decades. The Detroit Org, The Cincinnati Org, The Austin Org. The true purpose of the organization is to make money, make more money, and make others make more money.

I have been to a number of religious buildings which were built so that the parishioners could practice their beliefs. My current church is a beautiful building and we worship only God and his son Jesus Christ who are really only one and make up the Holy Trinity. No other entity is deemed worthy of our attentions and idolization. We have one book as a reference and that is the Holy Bible. Our pastor only and always refers to it as the scripture we are to follow.

Scientology on the other hand only attempts to deify L Ron Hubbard who is a false God and according to his own words was the Antichrist. The Scientologists believe themselves to be demigods. Far less than the big being L Ron Hubbard himself but aspiring to be like him. I am embarrassed to say that I once believed in L Ron Hubbard and the Scientology doctrine. It is clear to me now that it was only a self serving religion created by a narcissistic individual who had serious psychological issues.

-snip-

Well, the corporate Scientologists apparently feel that, with enough repeated proclaiming, that the "Scientology is a religion" meme will become firmly embedded in the minds of homo sapiens. :)

The video contains some good information for anyone concerned with this topic; however, one has to wonder, if obtaining tax exemption is so easy and routine, why did corporate Scientology need to initiate thousands of lawsuits against the IRS, and individual agents, and hire private investigators to look into the personal lives of Individual agents? including possibly the personal life of the IRS Commissioner?

The above circumstances, combined with the sudden reversal of the IRS' stance on corporate Scientology, from firm refusal to meek compliance, is, as far as I know, if not unique, then, at least, unusual.

However it came about the american taxpayer got screwed for a large chunk of cash just in terms of the bill Scio had already
accumulated and probably could'nt pay, I wonder if that was a forgiveness by a single IRS official or some sort of beurecratic board
that signed off on it, either way I'd like to know the names of those assholes:angry:

I'm betting its burried under a mountain of red tape lawyers and signed by some lowly clerk burried in the bowels of the IRS which
has the same problem as Scio with its massive alaphabetical soup of obfuscative layers of beurecratic crap.

Obviously time for some Vogon poetry right :biglove:
