It's what a corporation would have to do.

But...

One of the lessons learned from all this for me, personally, is that the US law pussyfoots around religion in all sorts of ways that are not healthy or fair. So I'd ask a lawyer, preferably one licensed to practice in Texas, whether the Co$ would be held to that common sense standard. Or not.

Yes freedom of religion seems also to mean freedom to harass (among other liberties). It's frustrating but if they keep it up (which they will), sooner or later the scales have to tip, don't they?
 
I got a few questions this morning.

1. did these 3 top execs just happened run into Marty Rathbun ?
2. if not how did they know right where to be, LAX aint exactly a little coffee shop ?
3. DM could obviously order anyone of his people to do this, why these 3 ?
4. why were they there and on what Church bussiness ?

A judge is going to ask theses questions in terms of the Restraining order
being violated.

Just one more question, how much money came out of church funds
for this joke of an operation ? flying 3 people all over the country for
a 3 minute shoutdown of one ex member, how fuckin nuts is that ?:omg:

That's views on YouTube of Marty's video.

From 7:00-11:00 p.m. Eastern Time (U.S.) the pace was around 200 VPM (views per minute).

Since then the pace has dropped down to about 106 per minute and we've added an additional 73,231 views.

(current total is a few hundred away from 531,000)

Now that the overnight hours in the U.S. are done with it will be interesting to see if that pace picks back up.

Even if not though, the current pace will add 150,000 additional views in a 24 hour period.

but being new to this I find it weird if not hilarious that these people
take videos of each other taking videos of each other :wtf:

Well, all you have to do is look at the brouhaha over the Texas ministers telling their parishioners to sign a political petition.

I can't say whether the city went over the line on the subpoena, but I can say that mentioning that petition from the pulpit is a pretty overt political act in my book, and should have cost every damn one of those churches their charitable tax deduction. Until someone successfully presses a suit on those kinds of grounds, I don't see any local, state or federal governmental organization growing a pair and actually enforcing the rights of citizens over the rights of their ecclesiastical leaders to abuse them and spew bullshit into the public arena.

I realize that some of the questions are rhetorical but

1. No they did not. If it ever came to a court appearance to prove this point all that would be needed would be to demand a copy of their tickets and travel itinerary along with affidavits from all of them about whatever they were planning to do.

While it is not outside the bounds of probability to run into an old acquaintance in an airport - I have done so twice - it stretches the odds quite a lot that three of them would be altogether for such a coincidence.

2. Short answer - and my guess only - someone was following Marty and phoned them. It is the only way it could have been done unless it was very close to his arrival gate or departure gate.

What you did not ask and which no-one has really brought up is the sheer logistics of this whole thing. First of all they would have had to have found out when where and how he was traveling, not an easy thing to do. That means they are actively tracking him. They would also have to have been following him to coordinate this whole thing. The expense is huge. I really hope their lawyers are on the ball regarding this. This little incident actually tips a large part of their hand

3. Because all three of them are seeking "redemption" - they have all spent a LONG time working on being rehabilitated. I am sure that all three of them are hoping to be back in the good graces again. Given the colossal fuck up that this is - I have my doubts. I am sure that there are a lot of fetid areas of the base that they will be cleaning.

4. Well obviously they were on their way to some high powered meeting...

Yes it is nuts and the expense is a lot more than just three people being at the airport. As you say, LAX is not a Starbucks, it is huge. You could not send three people out there to "bump into someone" unless you could pinpoint them ahead of time. That would mean having a system in place to track Rathbun's travel, having someone on his tail from wherever he was coming from who could confirm imminent arrival and exact gate number.

It has been a very long time since I was at LAX - but the thing becomes vastly more complex if it occurred inside security or outside.

Marty and his lawyers might wish to make a formal report to the TSA that the cofs is tracking people in federally secure areas.

Does anyone know where in LAX this takes place? I see that there are departure gates in the background - does that mean that it was inside security?
 
Yes, one must go through Security to get to the gates in every airport in the U.S. nowadays. I am unsure if one must hold a valid ticket to gain access, but if not a ticket holder I would think one would need to have a good legitimate reason for being there.

Don't we have some kind of stalking laws that would apply here, cause when ya cut to the chase get past all the soap opera:melodramatic:
its just plain old stalking.

Headline should be "Church Stalks Ex Member" ambush is kinda weak description IMO
