Nation of Islam Birmingham chapter leading Hoover boycott efforts
The Birmingham chapter of the Nation of Islam – which is deemed an “extremist,” “deeply racist, antisemitic” “hate group” by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) and led nationally by the infamous Louis Farrakhan – is heading up the boycott effort in Hoover in the aftermath of Emantic “E.J.” Bradford, Jr.’s death in an officer-involved shooting at the Riverchase Galleria on Thanksgiving night.
In a recent Facebook live video posted by Iva Williams, a spokesperson and the vice president for the activist organization led by self-proclaimed Hoover protest leader Carlos Chaverst, Jr., Williams confirmed that Tremon Muhammad, the student minister (pastor) for the Nation of Islam’s Muhammad Mosque No. 69 in Birmingham, is leading the boycott.
He also detailed that the boycott is specifically meant to harm businesses owned by white people, with the activists planning on finding ways to help black-owned businesses in Hoover until their leases are up, at which time the businesses will be expected to move into majority-black areas of Birmingham.
This tracks with the Nation of Islam’s theory of “separation” between races, and also substantiates reporting by the Hoover Sun that protest efforts in the city are part of a greater “war.”

snippet:
Of course, the longtime leader of the organization, Louis Farrakhan, was at the center of this controversy, as he has been when it comes to some of the most heinous speeches and actions by the Nation of Islam over the last half-century.
As extreme as admitting he believes, “White people deserve to die,” to as bizarre as getting the Nation of Islam involved with the Church of Scientology this decade, Farrakhan is one of the most radical figures in American politics, and his Birmingham representative seems to follow suit.
At the recent meeting, Muhammad explained that his organization is not currently on the front lines of the Hoover protests themselves because “the Nation of Islam does not subscribe to the theory of nonviolence.”
“If we go out there, we ain’t going out there to play. If we go out there, and we get engaged in combat, … If they touch one of our sisters or hit one of our young people or hit one of the brothers, we’re not out there just to fight,” Muhammad emphasized. “Everybody and everything got to die on sight.”

EDITED TO ADD:

I find it interesting that while the promo necessarily lists the address where the event will be held, it does not state that it is being held at the Church of Scientology and Celebrity Centre of Nashville. Also, in contrast to promo for Repair of the Black Family events held last year, the promo for this years events does not mention Dianetcs or anything Scientology related. Or at least Scientology related to anyone who is not otherwise informed. In context, the workshops on Communication, Disaster Preparedness, Self Analysis, Personal Values and Integrity are obviously based on Scientology Life Improvement and other Scientology courses.

I am cross-posting this because Scientology ally and partner Nation of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan is prominently featured. Tablet magazine has a lengthy, excellent article on (among other things) the Women's March's Farrakhan issue. Tony Muhammad's favorite book, "The Secret Relationship Between Blacks and Jews," makes an important appearance.

Is the Women’s March Melting Down?

According to several sources, it was there—in the first hours of the first meeting for what would become the Women’s March—that something happened that was so shameful to many of those who witnessed it, they chose to bury it like a family secret. Almost two years would pass before anyone present would speak about it.

It was there that, as the women were opening up about their backgrounds and personal investments in creating a resistance movement to Trump, Perez and Mallory allegedly first asserted that Jewish people bore a special collective responsibility as exploiters of black and brown people—and even, according to a close secondhand source, claimed that Jews were proven to have been leaders of the American slave trade. These are canards popularized by The Secret Relationship Between Blacks and Jews, a book published by Louis Farrakhan’s Nation of Islam—“the bible of the new anti-Semitism,” according to Henry Louis Gates Jr., who noted in 1992: “Among significant sectors of the black community, this brief has become a credo of a new philosophy of black self-affirmation.”

It was around this time that Morganfield says she first heard that Nation of Islam members were acting as security detail and drivers for the co-chairs. “Bob called me secretly and said, ‘Mercy, they have been in bed with the Nation of Islam since day one: They do all of our security,’” Morganfield told Tablet.

Two other sources, with direct knowledge of the time, also claimed that security and the drivers for the co-chairs were members of the Nation of Islam. And this was certainly the case in the women’s previous organization. A May 2015 photograph on Sarsour’s Facebook page shows a group of men wearing suits and bow ties in the signature Nation of Islam style. Her caption above the photo reads: “FOI Brothers, security for the movement,” using the acronym for Fruit of Islam.

Aftermath had 3 excellent guests..

Ishmael Bey touched on what he stated was a "Hornets nest" on the show

the Nation of Islam has whats called "Defending Farrakhan"
it's their squirreled version of fair game.

they attack reporters like "Bethany Mandel" who wrote an article about the CoS/NoI merger.
see "Wesley Muhammad's" responses in this thread. that was in the name of "Defending Farrakhan"
and Is happening to many journalist who cover or speak publicly Farrakhan's antisemitism remarks.

I have watched may videos, seen the attacks on social media, its all in the Name of "Defending Farrakhan"

the NOI won't use Scientology terms..they have redefined and given new meaning to Scientology terms and relate it to Elijah Muhammad writings
and have created new ones...like "Defending Farrakhan"

"Defending Farrakhan"

is his ministers and NOI staff attacking anyone critical of Louis Farrakhan. be it journalists, public figures or individuals

the show got the word out deeper into the public domain..I'm stocked up on popcorn.

Ishmael Bey also brought up Haiti..which is great..

Scientology whistleblower Leah Remini pulls back the curtain on the bizarre merger between Louis Farrakhan’s Nation of Islam and Scientology.

Marlow Stern 12.12.18 4:56 AM ET

The latest episode of Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath, A&E’s Emmy-winning docuseries, examines the ties between the Church of Scientology and the Nation of Islam. And who better to guide us through it than Remini, who says she was tasked with strengthening the partnership.

“I was approached by Scientology to bridge the gap between Scientology and the black community. And I wanted to do that. I had no idea what the Nation of Islam was,” Remini says. “I was a Scientologist and I wasn’t questioning what my church was asking me to do.” (The church, for its part, sent a letter less than 24 hours prior to the episode’s airing, claiming that it “supports religious freedom” and comparing Remini’s show to Nazism.)

Monsters and Critics has a piece on Tiponi Grey

Tiponi Grey death: What happened to her following Leah Remini Scientology Aftermath episode
12th December 2018 by Frank Yemi

snippet:

Tiponi Grey Magi was memorialized at the end of Season 3 Episode 4: The Disappeared of Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath. Her death was not explained on the show, which left fans wondering what happened to Tiponi Grey.

Tiponi was a mother of three children, who died due to natural causes about a month ago. She reportedly collapsed in her apartment and was taken to a hospital. Grey was 50 years old when she suddenly passed away.

In 2016, Tiponi Grey left her job at the Church of Scientology and first got involved with the organization through a boyfriend. Tiponi revealed to Leah Remini that she felt that the religion was more like a business and had little to offer the black community as they explored the Church’s relationship with the Nation of Islam.

Scientology and Nazi Germany

Mike Rinder: Scientology and Nazi Germany

4. And this is the big one: Leah Remini’s heritage, according to her DNA test is 49.5% Ashkenazi Jewish (European Jews) who were decimated by the Nazis in the Holocaust.

Let’s analyse this for a minute.

Scientology teams up with the anti-semite Louis Farrakhan and even presents his right hand man and most avid defender, Tony Muhammad with their highest “human rights” award (The IAS Freedom Medal).

They then claim they “support religious freedom for all and respect the religious beliefs of others” but have never said a single word about the hatred that spews from the NOI. But these paragons of virtue then accuse A&E and Disney of “turning a blind eye to lies and religious hate.”

But the final insanity is when they stoop to comparing Leah to “Germany in the 1930s.” That is disgusting. Talk about bigotry. They, defenders of the anti-Semites who they have hopped into an unholy alliance with, are accusing a woman with a predominant Jewish heritage of acting like the Germans in the 1930s. Vomit.
