Not a cattle call; bring your bushy tails over and let's get this show on the road!

Dancing, singing and suppressive expression required. Non-enturbulation not.

I think this is the proper influence for "The Squirelles"

Here are the lyrics:

I hurt myself today
to see if I still feel
I focus on the pain
the only thing that's real
the needle tears a hole
the old familiar sting
try to kill it all away
but I remember everything
what have I become?
my sweetest friend
everyone I know
goes away in the end
and you could have it all
my empire of dirt

I will let you down
I will make you hurt

I wear this crown of thorns
upon my liar's chair
full of broken thoughts
I cannot repair
beneath the stains of time
the feelings disappear
you are someone else
I am still right here

what have I become?
my sweetest friend
everyone I know
goes away in the end
and you could have it all
my empire of dirt

I will let you down
I will make you hurt

if I could start again
a million miles away
I would keep myself
I would find a way

What's a *parody*??? The Squirelles will only do 'homages'

Zinj

OK, for one of the 'homages', I'd like to see a rousing rendition of "The Worried Being"

"Bad dream honey? :dizzy:

. . . Awww, now, momma gonna sing you a lullaby!" :sing:

"Please do!" :begging:

. . . . . . . . . . .

"lies, lies, lies, lies, lies, lies. lies!" :liar: :liar: :liar: :liar: :liar: :liar: :liar:

. . . . . . . . . . . .

"dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb!" :duh: :duh: :duh: :duh: :duh: :duh: :duh:

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

"Children, then he blew from Scientology!" :runaway:

"...Hooray! He was free!" :runaround:

[Trumpets sound triumphantly]

For those of you who never had the pleasure of listening to the original . . . it's from "The Road to Freedom" album. . . by one of the truly great composers and lyricists of our time. :puke:

I hope we get a cover of 'Death On Two Legs (Dedicated to ...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQDxHaJi1A0

You suck my blood like a leech
You break the law and you preach
Screw my brain till it hurts
You’ve taken all my money –and you want more

Misguided old mule
With your pig headed rules
With your narrow-minded cronies
Who are fools of the first division –

Death on two legs -
You’re tearing me apart
Death on two legs
You’ve never had a heart of your own –

Kill joy, bad guy,
Big talking, small fry
You’re just an old barrow-boy
Have you found a new toy to replace me,
Can you face me –

But now you can kiss my ass goodbye

Feel good, are you satisfied
Do you feel like suicide (I think you should)
Is your conscience all right
Does it plague you at night
Do you feel good - feel good

You talk like a big business tycoon,
You’re just a hot-air balloon
So no one gives you a damn
You’re just an overgrown schoolboy
Let me tan your hide

Dog with disease
You’re the king of the ‘sleaze’
Put your money where your mouth is Mr. Know-all,
Was the fin on your back part of the deal… (shark!)

Death on two legs
You’re tearing me apart
Death on two legs -
You’ve never had a heart of your own
(You never did, right from the start)

Insane, you should be put inside
You’re a sewer-rat decaying in a cesspool of pride
Should be made unemployed
Then make yourself null-and-void
Make me feel good
I feel good

Hmmm, somehow some of those lyrics sound very appropriate - who could we dedicate it to?

Oh! I do hope that y'all will hire my BT Big Band to do the instrumentals. We have a full brass section now, and the rhythm section rilly rocks. All's lacking is a male singer. Any of you BTs who would like to try out for the BT Big Band can PM me to set up an audition.

Consider it your first rehearsal :) Sometimes it takes more to get it right. Now, should we assign BT Clusters as drumlines or put them all on tambourines for the Wall of Natters?

:hysterical:

Sod it ... give em a tambourine each ... (liven up their day a bit after all those years of hanging about).

If there is any room left on the play list ... can we have a couple for the Who fans amongst us ... lets see ... 'Won't get fooled again' and perhaps 'Spinball Midget' (Hello little Davie :kma:).

We had better get some practice in for the inevitable ... we could do a roaring red hot rendition of 'It's Over' ... you know ... so we are prepared ... for when the time comes.

I'm SO gratefull you posted this. The lyrics are perhaps the most perfect ever for girl singers. So I then explored, and found a version by Brenda Lee.
Takes me back to teenagehood, :) and the great Timi Yuro etc. And then I
searched my favorite conductor, Wilhelm Furtwangler.

I never thought I'd ever have any reason to be grateful to Dr Joseph Goebals. He for propaganda purposes filmed Furtwangler and the Berlin Philharmonic, which then was probably the greatest ever orchestra and now I've seen this master conduct in film. I have almost everything he recorded,
but never saw him in action, and there is a movie of him and the BPO
playing De Meistersingers in a factory, live performances of He and Flagstad performing the finale, The Immolation scene of Gotterdammerung, this last only stills and nothing to do with Goebals.

Then the last several minutes of what is by many regarded as the greatest performance of Beethoven's 9th symphony in honour of Hitlers birthday in 1942.

The ironies of the " Ode to Joy" played at this time and place!

An extract:-

" Joy, beautiful spark of gods
Daughter of Elysium,
We enter drunk with fire,
Heavenly one, your sanctuary!
Your magic binds again
What custom strictly divided.
All men become brothers,
Where your gentle wing rests. "
