Don't worry, Purple. Hopefully many of those attending will finally experience the straw that breaks the camel's back and blow the cult and soon we'll be hearing some good news of more people leaving and starting the onion peeling process.

I'm searching for the silver lining in that black toxic cloud down there in Clearwater.

Yes, hopefully so. But I'm also really annoyed that they let them keep their over-sized signs.

The tent has a capacity of 5500? Where are they going to put the other 4500 expected attendees? :duh:

I could swear in a recent article in the SP Times, a city official was quoted as saying the tent holds 3,000. I should have bookmarked that.

BTW, I've no objection if folks want to write their predictions for what really happens at the events this weekend, but as a never-in, I'm not knowledgeable enough to offer any well-reasoned guesses.

In a recent post on another thread, someone mentioned the idea that amnesty might be granted. Is that something likely to happen?

From what I've read, limited amnesty was previously offered by upper-mgmt of Co$ and it was rather specific, not generalized for ALL who'd been found to be 'flawed' in some form or fashion per Co$ membership standards.

I understood it to be that if a person was no longer a member of Co$, the limited amnesty meant: s/he could contact the org to arrange for a sec check and additional coursework -- all for a fee -- and then using certain checklists, run around and get them signed by supervisors. Once finished, the individual would have earned his/her good-standing membership in Co$ again.

Has there ever been an amnesty - whether general or limited - that included a large group of people such as, 'all current SPs'? Or 'all family members declared PTS by Co$'?
If not, do you think the upper-mgmt of Co$ would do that this weekend?

I remember the amnesty mentioned as well, but have not heard ANYTHING about it. Kudos to you for mentioning it, as I think that it is an important point. The article in the Tampa Bay times yesterday - http://www.tampabay.com/news/scient...ientologys-long-delayed-flag-building/2152549 - I know I am on the edge of :confused2: and this weekend we are ALL watching.

I think you'll find a copy of an Amnesty letter that was sent out (I recall one written by Marty), in the dox sub-fora. I remember two Amnesty times/letters, but I couldn't quote dates off the top of my head.

That's what I remember, too. Either 2,500 or 3,000.

But, if the cult says 5,500 I am pretty sure they wouldn't lie. lol

At least they didn't claim that the tent can hold 10,000,000.

Taste & smell dispensers - leaked to Tony:

Dear Daughter of Chaos and ForLease, I noticed your flags on that post I made. The graphics posted are the specs on the taste and smell dispensers for the room in which the Precepts Drills are done. Obviously, not all 57 are represented in the room dedicated to that area, but oiliness is! Yay, people love oiliness. Well, maybe that was a bad decision.

"Scientologists kick off days of celebration in downtown Clearwater"
Tampa Bay Times, by Joe Childs & Charlie Frago

Link: http://www.tampabay.com/news/scient...of-celebration-in-downtown-clearwater/2152745

Excerpt:
The Scientology presentation began as scheduled shortly after 7 p.m., with thumping music emerging from the tent and several rounds of cheers. The event was closed to all except invited guests.

Around 9:30 p.m., the tent emptied but the party continued at the nearby church-owned Fort Harrison Hotel, where the strains of the Eddie Floyd hit Knock on Wood could be heard.

"Knocking On Wood" is one of the perceptic drills?

"It's like thunder. Lightning. The way they regged me was frightening." - Bob "Call Me Knuckle-Rapper" Duggan, OT8 - Wood Knocker Class I.

And today it's Part 2 of the GAT2 presentation at 3:30? Until 6:00-ish?
7:00 tonight is _______________? <---Part 3 of GAT2 presentation? Patron Ball?

Here's an excerpt from Mike Rinder from a blog post earlier today:
http://www.mikerindersblog.org/singin-in-the-rain/
"BTW — the only feedback so far on attendance is that the only location for the event was the KSW Tent Of Magnificence. No overflow in the Auditorium or Ballroom. The church alleges the tent holds 6500 (more like 4500 based on how many it held in the UK, unless the chairs are smaller here and they were pretty small in the UK!) so that is the maximum attendance."

Here's another FB post that Mike posted onto his blog (there are others as well at above link):

Mike additionally commented in the same post:
http://www.mikerindersblog.org/singin-in-the-rain/
"They seem to honestly believe that a tent in Clearwater truly is the center of the universe — in the hundreds of billions of galaxies (let alone all of Pinellas county…) THIS is where the shit is going down…

It is bit of a sobering thought to contemplate. If Dear Leader told the mesmerized sycophants that he had uncovered secret writings from L. Ron Hubbard that we all had to build a space ship in the New Mexico desert to move off to Target 2, how many of them would actually pack their bags, sell their children and dutifully report for spaceship building (of course first doing the new Student Hat so they could all become rocket scientists as with that tech you can learn ANYTHING)?

Unfortunately, judging by these reactions, there are some who would."

This is a video with clips of the 2007 IAS event -- and I think it's inside the same tent that's now in Clearwater.

I can't get a sense of whether there's 3k or 5k people inside, but there does seem to be lots of interior space taken up by equipment/stage/etc.

Knock, knock.
Who's there?
Orange.
Orange, who?
Orange you glad you're not in a tent right now?

If I WTF'ed, it was for the ridiculousness of those plans, not for you :)

Yay for oiliness!

Do they keep a wall of defence around celebs and big noters?

Because, you know, someone really might say "Where's Shelly?"
And someone really might say "Where's Tommy?" or "Where's Jessica?"
And if they were there, someone really might say "Wow, it's great to get back into comm with you. Where have you been"?
And someone really might say, "Where are Gayle and Earnest?"
(Or several other South Africans).

It's must be frightfully difficult to ensure diplomacy at these functions.

I would not be surprised if His Lordship, Sir Tom Cruise Himself has been advised that his schedule does not allow attendance since he is currently handling a media-and-legal-and-2d-out-PR SIT (wot a lovely turn of phrase). It must be all terribly terribly fraught.

Is the air electric with bypassed missed withold charge?
