:goodposting:

Please don't shorten it. You're doing a good job telling your story. You've had me up and down and all over the place, crying, laughing, angry. Whew! This is some story. I know what you mean about not seeing that it is coming from Scientology. I did the same thing....I couldn't see that Scientology was causing the trouble in my life.

Please keep telling your story....it's helping me! :drama:

Hey SS -- don't beat yourself up about that "compromising your children for the good of the Org" thing. So many of us have done that! In retrospect you can't believe anyone would do that, let alone yourself, but somehow they skew your priorities and your loyalties. It's not just you!

Thanks for the story, I'm enjoying it.

as always, thanks guys! :)

just a quick thing. i know there's at least one, maybe two on here that know me. just want to say that if they recall anything about my past situations please feel free to pm me or even post with your thoughts! this has helped me in so many ways! not least of which is to try and get a lot of this into some kind of time line. so again, if anyone thinks they know me or indeed know of anything i,ve mentioned on here, by all means jump in and correct me if i need it or pm me with any relevant data!

esmb rocks!

ok, i'll try not to shorten this too much then! lol. the problem is that i've been away now for several years and although i have spoken about some of these issues with friends i've not had to di it to people who really get the finer points. you know, the ACTUAL things that caused upsets. lol. anyway, more....

so, i'm married to a sup who has totally made it clear that the org and scientology are completely her first priority (apart, of course, from the bit where she was out ethics and between them her and her co-offender managed to jeoperdise the delivery of the tech entirely in ldn! :duh: lol). tring to make money to live and keep her on post. looking after the kids most of the time when n:duh: ot working. getting crap from her if in amoungst all this i haven't kept the houe clean and tidy. (ok, i totally except that i'm not the most tidy person in the world!lol. :duh: but still....). so whilst bending over backwards to please her and make the marriage work she continued to have a "thing" going on with liam the sup at ldn foundation. i remember learning about propritiation. thats all well and good, making myself less blah blah, but when its done to appease a staff member it is apparently ok. because they arealways right! right? so i'm not making myself less at all! i just am less! that was what i came to realise. not pleasant to think about and i know that it sounds pretty pathetic, buts that how it was...for me anyway.
so there were a couple more episodes of louise leaving me and then coming back! i dont remember exactly how many times this happened just that it did. i didn't know if i was coming going or been! she was away from me and the kids for i would say most of the pregnancy on and off and actually managed to get herself a house in manor park at the time (east of london, past stratford). i've no idea how she managed this, or wh:duh: o she borrowed from in order to make it happen. i think her plan was to have a big enough space and then relieve me of the children! wtf she thought she was going to do with them is anyones guess but she must of had some sort of plan i suppose. i remember taking the kids over ther to see her a few times and one particular time she had her bags of stuff emptied out on the floor. she hadn't really unpacked or mocked the house up in any way. she had to leave to go on post or whatever and i agreed to stay there for a while i think to waite for the gas man? or something like that anyway. after she had gone i did the bad thing! my need for infomation was strong. i wasn't getting any truth about her and what she had done at all so i decided to look through her stuff for clues. not a very nice thing to do i know. well i certainly found something. i found her doubt formula on me! the things she had put in the negtive side made me feel oh so good!!!!! :bigcry: really glad i went looking there!:duh: . the next thing i know, iwas driving the kids home, crying uncontrolably and trying to ignore the looks of nosey pedestrians looking in! i just kept appologising to the kids about how useless i was and that i was sorry this was all happening and that they deserved better. yes they did.
so like i say, a lot of this is a little vague and the timeline is a bit messed up. i,ve just realised that i,ve missed a chunk. somwhere in amoungst all that louise and i had marraige counciling! did the course, watched the movie, had the sessions! i was really into it (of course i was, i loved her and i believed!) the movie made it all look so easy! this was gonna be great. so ok i was gonna have to own up to some stuff! well that was ok by me, i wanted the marraige to work so whatever it took right! what a croc! total bs! complete bollocks! sure i spilled my guts with louise sitting there ( for anyone who doesn't know, marraige counciling is done on the cans with both partners in the room at the same time. you kinda take turns, as i remember it, getting your o/w's off. you are not allowed to comment at all when your partner is doing thier bit and the same for them.)the problem was she didn't do the same! i mean, she had told me some of the things she had done! i knew! but it didn't come up for her! how fucking convenient! so my folder gets all the bad stuff written in it, and hers gets a few cursory pointles, hardly worth considering at all, overts in! wtf! now i know its not about that, and that if it didn't read then she obviously didn't have any charge on it yadayada blah blah. but it sure went a long way to confirming louises version of what i was like! :duh: . needless to say it didn't really work for us! lol.

so anyway, lou is living in manor park. i'm in plumstead with the kids and things are just kinda going along that way. she is convinced that she is going to have the new baby on her own and somehow everything is going to be fine and dandy. i am by now doing some day work as well as gigs in order to make money. i had a couple of teenagers as babysitters while i worked and to be honest i took the piss out of them really. completely took liberties. but what else could i do? my trade is as a musician so whatever day work i got was not gonna be particularly well paid so i couldn't afford a nursery. i was earning 45 pounds a day driving a van around and delivering kitchens. i paid 25 of that to the babysitters, fuel to get to the place to pick up the van and then some sort of food! i didn't make much money! lol. looking back on it, i think it was probably a way of getting a break from the kids as much as anything. my mental and emotional state were not great and i wasn't a good parent. i just wasn't. no patience, dirty house, no money, not much food, and on and on and on! so then, surprise surprise, a month or so ( i dont remember exactly) before the new baby is due louise decides that yes! she wants to make a go of things! yay! whoopi! i have no idea if it was because she got kicked out of her house or something, or the reality of having a baby on her own kicked in, or whether she genuinly wanted to try to make things right. what i do know is that nothing changed. i did express that there would have to be some change. i mean i just couldn't have things go on the way they were. she HAD to take more responsibility for the second dynamic! i couldn't do it ALL myself anymore. the solution..... lets get a nanny so that i can go to work and produce more !:duh: . not the solution i was looking for there! i wanted HER to spend more tim at home ffs! so ok, this is what we did then. we were given the number of an agency by someone in the org. all mostly eastern european girls who were looking to come to England to study English and would do nanny work as a sort of exchange. we had to house them, feed them, let them study and the exchange was supposed to be "light duties including some child minding". well light duties it obvoiusly was not! but where as we were only expected to give them some pocket money as such, we gave much more than that. gotta keep the exchange in eh!

the new baby came in june and i thought every thing was going to be fine from here on out. we kind of had things set up. we could only move forward! wrong! he was less than a month old and guess what! she wanted to leave again!!!! :dieslaughing: this was where the line got drawn. no way was i gonna take this anymore. so i said no! no way! you stay here with the kids and i'm going back to my parents (god i'm SUCH a grown up! lol). you're not doing this to me again. no way. YOU have the responsibility of the children! YOU make it go right! YOU deal with trying to live out here in the real world whilst trying to pursue your spiritual goals! so that was it. i left. gone .over. why didn't i feel great? why did i feel shit? because i didn't want it to be over. i wanted it to be right! well, because I had left HER it was obviously MY responsibility to carry on paying for the nanny! right! makes perfect sense! i had to pay some sort of maintanance anyway so we'll just call it that. i paid her 100 pounds a week. 100 POUNDS! MUG!

so that was that. i wasn't particularly on lines. my marraige was over.and i was living back at my parents. great.
.

to small steps

You tell a whale of a tale!
Gotta say- your personal revelations make the story all the more appealing. You through your words make yourself to be a human' s human---very real and oh so vulnerable--just like the rest of us with the exception of an OT or two. Great job-please continue!

Hi small steps,

Just wanted to say hi and thanks for writing your story.

It is important for people to know what it's like to be on staff or to have a spouse on staff, and the complete lack of human kindness shown by the organisation in its ruthless demands for stats at all costs, so keep going!

I was around London org but perhaps slightly earlier than yourself although I guess we would have known some of the same people

Looking forward to hearing more from you....

Thanks for sharing more of your story, Small Steps.

So sorry you had to go through all of that.

Please continue. :drama:

phew,

ok ready for the next bit of admitting how stupid i can be! lol.

when lou said that she wanted to leave yet again and i told her no i was still there for a short while, maybe a month or so, because her parents were coming to visit and she wanted to put on a show for them! i went along with this and stayed. we were no longer acting like a 2d in any way and i was angry and bitter. i even tried it on with the nanny! lol. i think just to get back at her in some way. she turned me down! lol. so it appeared i had completely lost my "touch" as well! i felt pretty bad at the time and then my situation was compounded by a theft. this was the september time by now and i had got home late from a gig that was a little distance from home. because it was late and i knew i had to be up early the next morning (i was doing some decorating work i think joe o'donovan at the time) i decided not to unload my equipment from the car and instead get as much sleep as i could squeeze in. i subsequently over slept and didn't make it downstairs until maybe 8:00 ish as apposed to the 6:00 that i needed to be on the move. when i rushed out to the car to leave i found that the rear window of my car had been removed and the majority of my equipment stolen. i was devastated. i sat on the curb and cried like a baby. i was working mostly as a solo entertainer, playing guitar and singing and so had to be totally self contained in order to work. for any of you that know anything about music gear i'll give a quick outline. my PA was gone. peavy speakers, peavy amplifier, seck mixing desk, vocal reverb unit (midi verb 2 i think). the gear i used to play my backing tracks was gone. roland sound canvas and sound brush (at the time this was about the best of its kind around). and finally my guitar rig. this, for me, was the worst bit. i was using a digitech gsp21 guitar effects unit, a yamaha power amp, and a pair of mesa boogie speaker cabinets. this is seriously not cheap stuff and, as im sure guitar type people reading this will know, was a MAJOR part of my identity as a guitarist. it was my sound. i LOVED those boogies! this just destroyed me. it finished me off emotionally. there was NO way i could replace any of that equipment in any way, let alone to the same quality level. i had 3 or 4 gigs lined up for that week and it was a frantic time indeed trying to beg borrow or aquire the needed gear in order to work. luckily, i didn't miss a single gig thanks largly to the fact that the thief had been kind enough ( lol) to leave my box of floppy discs with my backing track on. tracks take time to arrange, edit, etc. so i was able to work. anyway, that story was a slight digression i guess but also an example of being bloody well kicked when your down! during the time i was with lou there were other occassions and examples of her post taking priority, such as me waking up one morning to the glories of kidney stones and having to go to hospital because i had no idea what was wrong with me. kidney stones are viscious evil bastards and hurt like you wouldn'y believe! i went to casualty, she arranged a baby sitter for the kids and..... you guessed it.... went on post! lol. stuff like that any way. there's no point in going over every single episode as i think i've illistrated the point anyway. so moving on.
i was lost really. i felt like this massive injustice had been perpetrated on me and no matter which terminal i went to in the org nobody was really interested. oh some paid lip service of course but the fact is that lou was on post and so all was gravy!!! i carried on working (with borrowed gear) and even to some degree my stats went up a little in terms of gigs done etc. in the november i met a girl whilst doing a gig. now, by now i dont care about the org, or the tech, or about getting in any ethics trouble! ANYTHING is ok! bugger the lot of them! (at least that is what i told myself anyway!) so the fact that this girl was already living with someone didn't matter to me. she was attractive, exciting, and interested in ME!!!! ego boost or whatever. i justified it of course. her partner was a one legged drug taking bi sexual bnp member! you know, scum bag! bad news! nothing going for him at all. (what is it about dramitising that which has been done to you blah blah blah!). so we start to have an affair and it is very quickly apparent that things are serious between us. i wasnt really happy with the situation and so gave an ultimatum. she chose me and he moved out just before the christmas, i moved in just after. for the record i am not at all proud of the way it all happened, but happen it did and i found myself living in a new area, with a new exciting partner (and her daughter) who worked for REAL money, cooked, cleaned, showed me affection, was interested in what i did for a living.... the whole package! it was perfect! only thing was..... i hadn't told her i was a scientologist! you see, deep down i still considered myself to be one! after all every thing that had happened was my fault wasn't it? so we had a couple of months of honeymoon type bliss, where i was able to be calm and relaxed and to seem like i was just getting over a particularly awfull relationship but other than that was an ok guy. i was a good listener and helped her to resolve a few issues just by listening and encouraging her to talk about things. all was good.....but i still hadn't told her i was a scientologist! there came a point when keeping this from her was getting to be just too hard. i obviously was still getting calls from the org for events and stuff and had to keep giving her no answers as to who i had spoken to! i couldn't confront telling her about it. look what happened LAST time i introduced a 2d to scn!!! in the end, i left with some lame crap about not being ready for it and so on! she was upset to say the least and wouldn't give up. she just kept on and eventually i told her that i was a scientologist and that i didn't think she would ever be interested in it as there were things about her life and her past that would not be looked upon in a good way in scn. her answer was.... wtf is scientology! i was dumbstruck! how could this be? we were always told about all the expansion etc etc and here was someone who had never even heard of it! it was very wild to me indeed! well, i told her about it. it certainly served to explain more what had happened in my previous reletionship to her thats for sure! she seemed interested. in fact, need of change comes to mind! lol. so, being the good little scientologist that i was...... yep, i took her to cc! :duh: :duh: :duh: now, i wasn't so dumb that i wasn't wary about doing this, but it seemed to make sense. she would get a reality on where i was comong from in my life and hopefully she could maybe do a couple of basic courses. comm course would have been great! (i REALLY REALLY hate having my comm cut! and this girl can certainly talk for britain!!! lol) so i took her in when there was some sort of event going on and showed her around did the the tests etc etc. i cant remember if she had started on a course or not while there but at some point we found ourselves standing outside the org talking to, i think, tom hardy and an SO guy i cant remember. it was like a fucking car crash happening right in front of me!!! i couldn't believe what i was hearing. "you seem to be an intelligent and productive person....." NO!!!! "we're always looking for people like you to work here....." NO NO NO!!! "how would you feel about....." FUCK!!!! and on it went. there was nothing i could say. what COULD i say? my reputation in the org was already a little shaky to say the least thanks to the crap that louise had spread in order to justify her behaviour. i couldn't then be seen to interfere with a recruit cycle! could I? bloody hell! anyway, as if by magic, soloutions to all her objections were found and she signed staff! seriously, can anyone really be so bloddy well DUMB DUMB DUMB to put themselves through all the shit again? of course! i was a scientologist! there is no limit to the crap you're prepared to accept!!! obviously :duh: :duh: :duh: . ok, i'm getting a bit angry and taking it out on the keyboard, lol, so im taking a break. back later.

lol Small Steps. Yep they had you all right. This is starting to sound like those "Series of Unfortunate Events" books. You do have story all right! thanks for sharing it . . . .looking forward to the next installment.

That's a helluva way to become a star FSM!!!

Uhm.. Did that girl fall for it then? - Fact is that about 90% of people spot the scam almost immediatly. (Which is unflattering to me and all us who did fall for it...)

:omg:

Bloody hell what a nightmare small steps, the same thing happening all over again.

I know how you must have felt. As a scientologist you are just not allowed to show any "counter-intention" to recruit or reg cycles, no matter how much they affect you adversely as an individual. You just end up staying silent and letting them walk all over you - it happened to me. The individual matters little if anything in this strange scientology world.

:drama:

Gee, Small Steps, isn't it amazing how Scientology can improve one's life across the dynamics?

Just try to create a life for yourself and watch them tear it down. :bricks: :grouch: :hissyfit:
