I haven't really been away, just not commenting much! We have had some great discussions here, over time, haven't we? I do check in on this thread from time to time, but usually don't break into a discussion (or an argument!).

This is my first post of 2015, and I can think of no better place to make it!

Wish everyone a very Happy, Healthy and Abundant New Year!

Guess I am ending this page rather than starting a new one, but I think that's very appropriate for New Year's Eve, don't you?

I seriously was hoping that we would be seeing more holes in COS by now. But maybe it will be death by attrition, a slow process.

Keep in mind I still am not on the Internet at home and must use the library or go elsewhere to get online, so please don't take any gaps in my being here personally.

I'm working hard at a lot of things in life, MEST projects and improving conditions. Life is good, for the most part! Glad to hear in your year end summary Lakey, that you are well and your health is holding up so well. I'm really impressed by all the puzzles you do daily! Some of those math ones make my eyes cross! I'm sure that will help to keep your cognative abilities sharp. I think it's great that you have "Boggle Buddies". I remember that as being a fun and challenging game. So nice that you have kept some friends from high school, I have too. My friends are a great blessing to me, and I'm very grateful for them!

Hey, IT SNOWED here in Riverside last night and today! (Or now, yesterday) Can you believe it? I am just astonished! Snow level was down very low and kids were sledding on their boogie boards! What fun! It is too darn cold, though! I still have to unpack the rest of my winter clothes...we had such a hot end of summer and fall that the cold weather kind of snuck up on me this year! I did find my hat with ear flaps, thank God!

Well, no tumbleweed snowmen for us this year! It's the real thing, even if they are sort of on the short and stumpy side!

Look at this! That's Lake Elsinore!

I can't believe those beautiful pictures are of Lake Elsinore. I was never very impressed with that city or its lake until now. About the only thing they had going for them was a modern baseball stadium built for their Class A California League Team. Seems like that was built about 20 years ago, it holds about 7,500 fans and is a modern stadium. The rest of the town was not too impressive, at least until it starts snowing. What a little snow can do for a town or a lake; the snow changes Lake Elsinore from a sow's ear to a silk purse.

Just recently, their population surpassed 50,000. That has probably doubled from 10 or 12 years ago. The City is right off Highway I 15, If you take that Highway, you go right by Lake Elsinore on your way to Murietta and Temecula. Temecula has a huge Indian Casino and luxury hotel called Pechanga and then, if you continue going south-east another 15 to 20 miles you hit a whole slew of Indian Casinos in northern San Diego County. There are Pala, Valley View and Harrah's, which all have luxury hotels, high class entertainment, etc plus there is one small casino, Pauma, which is what they used to call a saw dust joint in downtown Las Vegas. As you head towards the city of San Diego, there are many more Indian Casinos, including the high stakes and fancy Barona casino. I have never been to Barona but have been to all the others. I went for the blackjack games but it is no longer possible for a player to have an edge against the house at blackjack in the Indian casinos. They deal from 8 decks and are also moving to electronic shoes which continually shuffle the cards as the game progresses.

To have an edge in Blackjack, one has to be able to count the cards and look for certain favorable situation, i.e. more than average face cards and aces in the residue from which the next hand will be dealt. In a 6 deck or 8 deck game, that will almost never occur and with continuous shuffling it will never occur.

Here's the latest news from Riverside. This is like a once every 40 years experience!

People who got no snow now have "snow envy"! Some are posting pictures of frost on their lawn and saying, "Hey look, we got snow too!"

Cracks me up!

I'm very happy for all the little kids who have never seen or played in snow before (and some adults!).

I do feel much compassion for folks sleeping outside or in vehicles, folks living in RV's and thin-walled mobile homes, etc. meant for comfort in our desert heat, and all our of our animals (domestic and wild). What a change from normal this is for us! It's a nine days wonder!

I feel like the Universe is talking to us here, sending a message of "Happy New Year! Now get ready for change!"

But then, I look for meaning in everything, everywhere in my life experience!
It's like exercising a spiritual muscle!

So I will share this just in this morning, a lovely mermaid encased in ice, our own little bit of Denmark right here in River City:

The comment that went with it:

"Every morning I feed, give drink, & bathe a minimum of 60 birds & 1 squirrel (Rocky), today...they ice skate...and give me funny looks. Happy New Year everyone!"

And may I just add, DAMN! This experience teaches me that one should NEVER EVER give up one's lovely down ski clothes, even after one's skiing years are far behind them! Shoot! If you won't go to the snow, sometimes the snow will come to you! Even here in So Cal!

Even digging out my "winter clothes", I am finding none which will stand up to this cold snap! So I am wearing many layers and look like the Michilin man...finding it harder to move around!

Sweetness feels like she is turning into a human popsicle! BRRRRRR!

For want of something better to post, I heard this Mozart French Horn Rondo on the radio yesterday while driving. He wrote 4 full Horn Concertos but not too many Mozart fans are aware that he also wrote a one movement Horn Rondo in 1781 when he first moved to Vienna. In those days, the French Horn did not have any valves and the players lip plus his hand in the bell of the Horn had to produce all the notes. That being considered, the Horn Rondo is a pretty advanced work for its day as it really explored some of the capabilities of the instrument.

For those who are interested in classical music, check this piece out. The orchestra appears to be a fine Italian ensemble and the Horn player is a 14 year old boy and he is really excellent!!

An acquaintance of mine, whose politics are strongly to the right, sent me this post which contains some interesting info and then proposes a prayer to send, presumably in jest. Here it is,

"Dear Lord:
The last five years have been very tough. You have taken my favorite actor - Paul Newman; my favorite actress – Elizabeth Taylor; my favorite singer - Andy Williams; my favorite author -Tom Clancy; and now, my favorite comedians – Robin Williams and Joan Rivers.
I just wanted you to know that my favorite politicians are Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, and I have a special place in my heart for Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton."
Amen.

To me, I can't pass this on without comment and pray that those various politician die, even in jest. For me, I hope President Obama, Joe Biden, Jesse Jackson and Hilary Clinton live long and enjoyable lives. I'm not totally in agreement with their politics but to me those four are descent people.

To me, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are not competent people, IMO they are incompetent and delusional and epitomize what is wrong with our political system. They should be under sedation in some old folks home and the fact they they were chosen by the Obama administration as the Speaker of the House of Representatives, (Pelosi), and Majority Leader of the Senate (Reid) makes me very leery of backing today's Democratic party. I was a JFK Democrat and essentially still am of that ilk. The sad thing is that JFK Democrats would be too conservative to fit into today's Democrat Party. Probably, the last person who was anything like a JFK Democrat was Senator Joe Lieberman of Connecticut who ran for Vice President on Al Gore's ticket in the 2000 election. He was in the Senate until 2013 but in his last term, the Democrats attempted to oust him but he won election as an Independent and not a Democrat.

Last but not least, is the Reverend Al Sharpton. This guy stands for everything that I detest. His man feature is a lack of honesty. Even so, I would not say a prayer where I wished that he would die soon. Wishing that someone else dies is a very charged up item inside me. How about anyone else, would anyone care to comment on this?

I don't know where all this electrical charge and other junk comes from, I would even think twice before praying that someone like Hitler would die. I never ran out anything like this in COS or in any other type of betterment activity and yet just thinking about it now turns on an enormous amount of electricity all over my body. Has anyone else experienced this type of reaction?

Just a cursory look at what I feel generates what could be described as "Outrage". I am outraged at myself for even thinking such a thought but then I feel that someone or something else, perhaps a deity like figure, would be outraged at me if I dared to make such a prayer. For me, thought is sort of like bypassing a Diety and doing a job that is reserved for the Diety.

Well, unfortunately, so far no one has responded in writing to this new post of mine, though I did get a like and an LOL. One thing though, between the time I went to bed last night and now, 6:30 AM, there have been over 1,000 hits. The previous two nights, the overnight figure was only about 200. The guy who sent it wanted me to forward it to my friends and acquaintances so I did that. In just one day it got a pretty decent reading of about 1000 views. Too bad I don't know who the viewers are but still a view is a view.

Hitler ? Some say responsible for the deaths of some 50 million people.
Given the opportunity to take his life & save those as many as 50 million ?
Wouldn't the question become at the time of killing him would one know he was going to cause that much havoc?
Or, is it an "IF" question of knowing what I know now but didn't know back then would I have killed him back then when I don't know what I know now ?

In my opinion, most decent people do not wish, pray, or even hope for the demise of another human being.

It gets hotly contested among different sides of the political spectrum, but again in my opinion, I tend to feel most decent people would defend the rights of an Al Sharpton to speak as he does - or Hillary Clinton - or Obama.

AH, but would those I'd stand up for would they stand up for me if the shoe were on the other foot ? Matters not. It is always what I choose to do based on me & not what I choose to do based on what the other person choose to do or not to do.

Why ? I am in charge of me.

Each of them are in charge of themselves.

Is that not how it should be ?

Some feel they a spiritual being ( soul to some ) while others feel they are a flesh & bone body, period.
Well, isn't that the way it must be that each makes their own decisions & lives with 'em ?

Like so many others here, I have very dear friends who have absolutely opposite political beliefs from me - we are friends & leave politics out of it.

Same for religions, I - like so many others - have dear friends who deeply believe things that, to me, are folly if not foolish & sometimes dangerous ... but they each get to make those life choices for themselves as I have made mine.

The older I get the less I see " right / wrong " & the more I see just different.

While it may be that each of us are on a different path up the mountain I tend to suspect the top is going to be the same for everyone regardless of the path they took to get there.

Re: Update on Healing Exchange

Update on my Healing Experiment

I had my second exchange of services with the Masseuse my friend E.C. introduced to me. First she gave me a a full body massage, lasting over an hour. It was an awesome massage!! She worked the hell out of my sciatic problem pressing the tip of her elbow into my lower beckm buttox and calves. She took me as far as massage can go. If I need more I need to see a chiropractor.

Next, it was my turn to work on her. A woman in her late 40's, when I arrived she looked about 15 years older than that and her speech was a bit slurred. Her physical problems seem to stem from an auto accident she had about 8 years ago where some of her upper vertebrae were damaged and had to be operated upon. My entire "treatment" now consists of giving a person a massage concentrating on the shoulders, upper back, neck and head while at the same time engaging my "patient" in 2 way communication.

I go into a session without any type of meter and not even a pencil or paper to take notes. Some form of recording what happened in a session should probably be introduced if I ever decided to expand my practice. As it turned out, this session got an extremely good result, which I will cover below.

To be ethical as to the sources of my treatments, I borrow from Shiatsu massage and Hubbard's Touch Assist technique in the massage part of my treatment. while in the two way communication portion of my process, is taken from Hubbard's Class I auditing Course. Class I, I believe, was called listen style auditing. You must have a good communication cycle going with the your patient, be willing to ask them key questions about themselves and then fully acknowledge them when they answer your questions. MY OWN PERSONAL BELIEF IS THAT LISTEN STYLE ALONE IS A VALID METHOD OF HELPING PEOPLE TO HEAL AND FEEL BETTER. I WOULD SAY THAT IT ACCOUNTS FOR FROM 67% TO 75% OF ALL GAINS ACHIEVED IN COUNSELING OTHERS. The other 25% to 33% comes from such things as deciding which questions to ask, ordering items as to order of importance, handling upsets and/or using correction lists when and if things go wrong in a session as well as Case Supervision, mainly deciding what to run next.

Whatever technology one is using, scientology, dianetics, Freudian analysis, psychology, social worker tech, etc., all of these are capable of getting a result as long as the practitioner is sincere, cares about the patient and really is determined to help them. The most important things of all are to DUPLICATE what the patient is saying and then give a full ACKNOWLEDGEMENT to the patient, making sure that they are aware that the practitioner has heard them! It goes without saying that one has to listen carefully to what the patient is saying and accurately duplicate it. If the practitioner has not truly heard what the patient has said and acknowledges anyway, that session is not going to go anywhere but down the tubes!

In this particular session, the patient talked about the NORMAL things which seem to trap people. First there is their relationship with their parents, often a love - hate affair which lays in permanent stress onto the "patient" as well as the parents. Next there is the inevitable 2nd dynamic area which seems to be messed up in most people's lives. Often, the area of romance is a messed up area of horrible misunderstandings, invalidation and unfulfilled dreams. Those people who have succeeded well in their love lives really stand out as superstars. I've met a few but not many. The last major activity which people seem to indulge in when they are depressed is trying to figure, figure, figure down to minute details where they are going wrong.

Of all the things which human beings can do when things are not working out well, especially in personal relationships. probably the worst thing is to figure-figure on their troublesome situations. Figure -fiigure causes self doubt and once one doubts his or her ability to think their way out of their maze, they are locked into a trap.

My patient had all of these harmful things going on, concerns about her parents, two former boyfriends and huge figure-figure going on about why she was not succeeding in life. Fortunately, she had a major personal attribute which make it quite easy to help her and pull her out of her trap. She has the ability to be self introspective. She is very free to examine her own actions and condemn them if she believes they are wrong. I saw this as a very beneficial attribute, a game breaker, if you will.! With this trait, she had the ability to immediately change course and start healing.

It was almost like magic, I was looking at a woman who appeared to be about 63 and who was slurring her speech and talking negatively about life. I asked her what steps she was taking to handle her two ex boyfriends. To my surprise, she had already handled the first guy and had worked out an excellent handling for the second guy. Her handling sounded very good to me as she stated it but she didn't stop talking after describing it. Instead, she introduced self doubt by continuing, "I want to handle him this way, but then I think to myself, who am I to judge him, I'm not perfect by any means and have made many mistakes so do I really have the right to pass judgement on him?" BTW, her program was to drop him if she did not see any major changes in his attitude during a trip they were going to be taking together soon. If, by some miracle, he had major changes during that trip, she would continue to stay with him.

When I heard her continue talking and start invalidating herself. I instinctively knew what to say to free her up from her dilemma. First, I asked permission to give her my personal opinion of all that she had just said. She urged me to do so and so I told her that her ability to be self introspective was a very admirable trait and was also a rare trait. I commended her for having that rare ability. Next, I told her that since she had this ability, she should use it to her advantage and not use it counter productively by second guessing her own wisdom and ability to analyze situations. As soon as I said that, about 10 years of age lifted right off of her face.

Next, I told her that I thought that the handling which she worked out concerning her boyfriend was spot on. Right there, another 5 years of age lifted, she was grinning ear to ear and was talking without any slur. She asked my opinion as to whether he would change or not. I told her that IMO it was possible but unlikely to.happen. That ended the session.

THE KEY MOMENT IN THE SESSION
The crux of the entire session boiled down to one instant, the point at which my patient transferred instantly from the figure-figure mode to the being exterior to her problem mode. She went from self doubt to confidence that she had worked out the right situation on her own and that she was going to apply that solution to better her life as well as the life of her boyfriend.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
What are the mechanics which take place here? Why is it that a person alone and figure-figuring all over the place becomes caved in and trapped in a problem while if that same person is able to tell his or her problem to someone else and have that person duplicate and acknowledge him, the problem will lighten up and the person can get exterior to it instead of being immersed inside of it. A person with a problem need tell only one other person to achieve relief and the listener need not be a celebrity or a specially trained person; any second person seems to work if that second person only listens, duplicates and acknowledges. Hubbard wrote something about this being a two terminal universe. That seems true, but why is this? What are the mechanics involved here? How can the technique be put to broader use?

I'd have to content that while we get to ask questions ( mainly guided by the person we are talking with ) it is the person who does the work, reaches the conclusion & implements it into their life at a pace they find works for them.
( We were merely a guide - even if sometimes we were a very skilled guide ? )

Seems that is the person that deserves the real credit for the changes in their life. It would also seem - at least to me - that attributing results to a person tends to be empowering instead of installing oneself as some kind of guru another then needs to become dependant on.

As far as this being some kind of 2 terminal universe ( please don't sidetrack into solo auditing ! ), hmmm. I tend to think one works at becoming one with ones self. That, yes, one can manage to get away spiritually from where is best for them & work back into themself spiritually - some might say that is two terminal universe of self to self ?

Some othesr would say there is this thing called a universal consciousness, ( & some might call that " God" ) that we as a spiritual being work to be in better communication with - that is surely a two terminal universe ?

Yet many great inventions & discoveries have been made from the thought processes of one person all by themselves - is that not true ?

It might be that for those who feel that it is necessary for this to be a two terminal universe that it is & for for those who don't feel it has to be a two terminal universe that it isn't.

Perhaps this one-size-fits-all belief could be lacking somewhat in accuracy being that a belief is merely a thought one keeps on thinking?

With me, I'm in pretty darn good shape, except for carrying too much weight. I've got 20-20 vision without having received Lasik and perfect hearing. My long term memory is better than ever. There is a problem however, with short term memory, things such as: "Where did I leave my keys, my cell phone or my wallet?" The most inconvenient of these is remembering where I parked my car if it is parked in some large parking structure or big lot in the mall. My ex wife came up with a good fix for the parking problem which is to take a picture with your cell phone of where you parked, a picture containing a sign such as "D3" or whatever. That pretty much handles the parking memory lapse. Even better, my car has keyless entry and on the key fob which they give you there is a button to press to sound your horn if you can't locate your car in a lot.

I'm younger than you, and I've drawn a blank on where I put my car on several occasions. These days, I just tend to park in the same area when I go to a particular mall. And, as you do, I make a point to orient myself to landmarks before heading into the mall. The cellphone picture idea has merit, though.

I'm younger than you, and I've drawn a blank on where I put my car on several occasions. These days, I just tend to park in the same area when I go to a particular mall. And, as you do, I make a point to orient myself to landmarks before heading into the mall. The cellphone picture idea has merit, though.

I found an easy solution to the locate-the-car thing ( aka Short Term Memory Loss ).

I have some much younger person drive & then go in the mall with me.

I just follow them back to the car - and haven't lost a car since I started doing it that way. Close to infallible as I can get !

Here are a few more observations on Healing and my post above:

Between the two person team, neither individual person is necessarily senior to the other. We start out with a "patient" seemingly trapped in a problem which detracts from his or her enjoyment of life. The patient may be extremely intelligent and have tons of life force but the harder he tries to think about his problem and figure-figure his or her way out of the problem, the tighter the trap closes on him.

We have a person entrapped in a problem and a practitioner not entrapped in that particular problem. It naturally follows that the practitioner must assume primary responsibility for assisting the patient in getting out of the trap. Of course, the patient is the only one who can actually free himself, the practitioner can't do it. A good counter-example would be a Medico trying to cure someone instead of assisting that person in healing himself. A Medico may administer medical drugs or a friend may pour a friend a drink of booze. When someone attempts to do something for someone, these are the types of things which can be done. A measure of temporary relief may be obtained, and that is about the best that can be hoped for. Even there the drugs and booze have various side effects which might be worse for the patient than his original problem. Therefor it is true the patient must do the heavy lifting in curing himself but the practitioner must guide him in this task.

To illustrate further that the practitioner is not necessarily senior, when a practitioner and patient work together to effect a cure, THEY MAY THEN SWITCH ROLES, WITH THE PATIENT ACTING AS THE PRACTITIONER AND VICE VERSA. Hubbard called this a co audit. That was an excellent way to proceed, teaming up with a another so as to better the quality of life of both principles!

On solo auditing, an old timer recently told me that Hubbard adopted Solo Auditing because Orgs could not train Auditors quickly enough for every single staff and public to have their own auditor. As was so typical with Hubbard, he was willing to sacrifice quality of service for speed of flow and the resulting income generated by a much faster speed of particle flow. Looking at the results obtained, all of the levels which I had wins on were on the lower part of the bridge. I am talking about Life Repair, Straightwire, Dianetics, Expanded Dianetics, the Grades 0-IV, Power Processing and the L's. I never thought about it before but each and every one of THESE levels were given by an auditor to a preclear. The levels which I did not recommend others spend time on consist of OT3 through OT7 and Solo NOTs. Funny, but all of those are levels which are audited Solo except for OT 5, audited NOTS. I had never recognized that distinction until now!!

Audited NOTS was audited by an auditor. On that level, I thought I was making huge gains at the time but now, looking back, I am not sure if I made any real gains on that level. I can't really think of any specific gain which I made which stands out as a life changer. That is very interesting beecause I had some very good and caring auditors run NOTS on me, Perhaps imagined gains came from having someone audit me and not from the NOT's process itself. I don't know; in fairness to NOTS, if one makes a gain by eliminating something negative from one's space, it's hard to put your finger on that exact gain many years later. Also, there is some self invalidation taking place in denying earlier gains and self invalidation is an area for people to steer clear of.

True that some individuals have made discoveries on their own initiative. We see science moving ahead quite rapidly on planet Earth with both individual scientists and teams of scientists leading the way. Here are a few more observations on Healing and my post above:

Between the two person team, neither individual person is necessarily senior to the other. We start out with a "patient" seemingly trapped in a problem which detracts from his or her enjoyment of life. The patient may be extremely intelligent and have tons of life force but the harder he tries to think about his problem and figure-figure his or her way out of the problem, the tighter the trap closes on him.

We have a person entrapped in a problem and a practitioner not entrapped in that particular problem. It naturally follows that the practitioner must assume primary responsibility for assisting the patient in getting out of the trap. Of course, the patient is the only one who can actually free himself, the practitioner can't do it. A good counter example would be a Medico trying to cure some instead of assisting that person in healing himself. A Medico may administer medical drugs or a friend may pour a friend a drink of booze. When someone attempts to do something for someone, these are the types of things which can be done. A measure of temporary relief may be obtained, and that is about the best that can be hoped for. Even there the drugs and booze have various side effects which might be worse for the patient than his original problem. Therefor it is true the patient must do the heavy lifting in curing himself but the practitioner must guide him in this task.

To illustrate further that the practitioner is not necessarily senior, when a practitioner and patient work together to effect a cure, THEY MAY THEN SWITCH ROLES, WITH THE PATIENT ACTING AS THE PRACTITIONER AND VICE VERSA. Hubbard called this a co audit. That was an excellent way to proceed, teaming up with a another so as to better the quality of life of both principles!

On solo auditing, an old timer recently told me that Hubbard adopted Solo Auditing because Orgs could not train Auditors quickly enough for every single staff and public to have their own auditor. Looking at the results obtained, all of the levels which I had wins on were on the lower part of the bridge. I am talking about Life Repair, Straightwire, Dianetics, the Grades 0-IV, Power Processing and the L's. I never thought about it before but each and every one of THESE levels were given by an auditor to a preclear. The levels which I did not recommend others spend time on consist of OT3 through OT7 and NOTs. Funny, but all of those are levels which are audited Solo. I had never recognized that distinction until now.

Re: Strange Dream leads to an Unexpected Result

Here is something interesting for those interested in metaphysics and the occult.

Last night, I had a very long dream about me and J.L., the old grammar school friend who I reconnected with about 10 months ago. I dreamed that he and I were invited to the house of our former 3rd grade teacher, Lila Mae. The dream was so long that I woke up to pee, went back to sleep and the dream started up again and lasted until I woke up.

In this dream, J.L. had received an invitation to attend a reunion at the home of our former 3rd grade teacher, in L.A. Our 3rd grade teacher was a very attractive blonde and I remembered that she was 23 years old and had just started teaching and we were her very first class. I was 8 at the time so she is 15 years older than me.

In the dream, J.L. and I show up at her house, there were some students there looking at memorabilia in the front room and they told us that Lila Mae was in the back and would join us soon. I did not recognize any of those students but on a sign in sheet, which we were asked to sign, I recognized a few of the names of people who had already come and gone.

Finally, Lila Mae comes out, she is still beautiful and looks to be about 80. She starts talking to me and I mention a few names of old students and she didn't remember them. Finally, I mention someone who she remembers and some tears came into her eyes. A couple of arrivals who I remember, enter the front door. I try and make small talk with them but just a few words are exchanged and they move on, looking at the memoribilia. Finally, I realize that just too much time has passed since 1948 and that we have nothing to say to each other and are essentially total strangers. J.L. and I decide to leave so we go back to say good bye to Lila Mae. She is radiant, beautiful and gracious, we shake her hand, hug her and leave her house.

I wake up and start wondering why did Lila Mae. my old 3rd grade teacher, came to mind. I figure that she is 90 years old now and maybe she just died and came to me in a dream to say good bye. I decided to do a Google check on her name and see what came up.

I knew that she got married and changed her last name during her first semester teaching us. I thought her maiden name was Lila Mae Von Paddenburg and after her marriage she became Lila Mae Hammer. Now, I had never seen her last name Hammer spelled out in full but I assumed it was spelled 'Hammer'. I Googled Lila Mae Hammer and sure enough, there is a Lila Mae Hammer, born in 1924 and married in 1948. This Lila Mae Hammer died in 2003. Okay, the search was over, or so I thought. There was an almost perfect match up here. This Lila Mae Hammer would have been 24 when she taught me 3rd grade in 1948, and she got married during that year so that her last name changed. However, there were two bugs which didn't add up. First, she was born and also died in Wisconsin and second was that her maiden name was Ward and her married name was Hammer.

Next, I decided to search Lila Mae Von Paddenburg. To my amazement, this came up right away. This Lila Mae was born in California in July of 1925. Her maiden name was Hamar, she married Jack Von Paddenburg in 1948 and she was still living!

Just think, living in the USA in 1948 there was a Lila Mae Ward in Wisconsin, age 24 and a Lila Mae Hamar in California, age 23. Both women marry that same year and their names change to Lila Mae Hammer in Wisconsin and Lila Mae Von Paddenburg in California. There are a lot of coincidences there! I mean, I am not talking about Susie Smiths here, these are Lila Mae Hammer and Lila Mae Hamar.

Is all of this conincidence or did Mrs. Van Paddenburg (nee Hamar) actually think about me and come to me in a dream?

Some would believe you get what you put your attention on - and it could be you who had thought of her, or, her who thought of you.

Does it really make any difference as it would seem, communication is communication & it could be appreciated for what it is instead of figure-figured as to " why".

And as far as needing an auditor or some of practioner. First off, a "medico" has soent some time in an accredited medical school, has done an internshio & residence as is - most importantly - licensed to practice medicine. Do they have all the answers ? Oh HELL no. Are they always right ? Oh HELL no.

A person can accept " I am in charge if me ". A person can accept they can change their own mind. It is that simple.
One can be in charge of ones own life IF one accepts they are in charge of it. Don't like something ? Change your behavior ? Change it !

Most people want to jump in and change the most plaguing things first - that rarely works, but, start with little stuff & work up.

Or, gee, have old Hubbard hisself for a guru - LOL !

Re: More speculations on healing

Prior to a healing session, the "patient's" body is always out of whack. In Hubbard's jargon, the person might have a high tone arm reading and a tight needle. In the occult, I've heard it said that people's chakra's are out of alignment. In my massage technique, several things are ALWAYS present. There are no exceptions ever!! What will always be found are as follows:

#1. The neck and shoulders are very tight, always one side tighter than the other. Often there's a tightness in one's arms, usually in the triceps area.
#2. There is misalignment of various bones, causing stress to be placed on certain muscles which are attempting to restore the body's proper alignment.
#3. In sever cases, the misalignment of bones and muscles will cause a pinched nerve which can be extremely painful.
#4. Typically, one side of the body is not carrying its normal load and the other side is attempting to compensate for that by doing extra duty.
#5. If the practitioner puts his finger on the patients head, he will find several hot spots, not necessarily physically hot but points which are energized in a negative manner.
The area on the back of the skull, just above the nape of the neck will act similarly to an electrical capacitor and will be a storehouse of static electricity.
#6. The patient will be under stress and will have some sort of deficient mental computation going on as to the cause of the stress.

These mental computations fall into several categories, however in every category, the patient will exhibit the phenomena of being pulled strongly in two or more different directions. So far, I have been pretty good at sensing what the patient is thinking. Once I sense it, I ask a generalized type of question such as, "Are you in a situation right now where you have to finish a project at work and also have to finish studying for a test at school and you don't believe both things can be achieved by their deadlines?

If you are not good at picking up on what the person is thinking, that is okay too. You can just ask the patient, "What's going on? or What are you thinking about right now?' If you connect with your patient and they start telling you a lot of personal info, the odds are very high that your session will be short and successful. Sometimes a person either won't talk to you but wants to keep everything a secret or even worse they want to prove you wrong and will do anything to make you fail. If you sense that this is the case, you should just tell them that you can't help them and quickly end off the session and don't make anymore appointments with them.

Assuming things are going well and the patient is freely telling you about his problem, you take great pains to duplicate exactly what he is saying. If you don't fully understand something then ask them for a clarification. Always acknowledge fully every thought or origination which the person shares with you. Keep pressing on the various hot points on the head; sometimes these will shift, some might go cold but others may pop up. Also, every now and then, press on the area just above the nape of the neck. Your goal is to get the trapped static electricity to start flowing our of that area. Once the flow starts, stay with it and if you are grounded to the floor, it is okay for the energy to flow through you and down into the floor and then into the ground. My present patient says that it is better for the practitioner if he/she lets the energy flow out into the surrounding space rather than through his or her body into the floor.

THE END PHENOMENA
Once the energy starts flowing off the head in large quantities, you are near the finish line. You let the patient talk and don't cut his communication. You will see various positive physical manifestations such as improvement in the patient's skin tone and color, a happier mind set, quicker and more animated speech, possibly a grin and sometimes an epiphany. This end point is very important for both parties. As the practitioner, I stop pressing on the head and start looking right at the patient and listening to every word he says. Every now and then I will say Wow! or That's great! Finally when they are done talking, I just tell them that we are going to end off the massage.

TRYING TO SEE MORE CLEARLY WHAT IS GOING ON HERE:
I see a person under stress, usually family related, romance related, job related or money related. The person is being pulled strongly in two or more directions and is coping as best they can. They try hard to right their ship by doing a figure-figure and as far as I know, this always fails. There may be exceptions, certainly it is possible, but I have never encountered one.

As the person sinks more deeply into their problem, despair starts to take hold. Meanwhile, the body's flows are altered and there are jam ups of flows on one or more nerve channels, usually on just one side of the body. The body attempts to fight back by having the better side of the body do extra work so as to attempt to carry the load for the weaker side of the body. This helps a bit and keeps the person able to function for a while longer but the problem is that the good side of the body now has it's flows overloaded and it's flows also start to become stuck.

If this situation were to be carried on indefinitely, the patient might become incapacitated or unable to walk and of course their sleep, digestion of food and their bodily functions start to fail.

Our Western society does make an effort to help a lot of people and they do have many workable tools including standard medicine and chiropractic. I have no beef with Western medicine, use it myself and respect most of those who work in it. All that being said, sometimes a simpler non medical treatment will get fantastic results. Such treatments can be used as stand alone treatments or they can be used in conjunction with standard medicine and/or chiropractic to facilitate the effectiveness of those techniques.

THE MASSAGE COMPONENT OF A TREATMEANT When a person is under stress, the nerve flows and perhaps the lymph flows get blocked. As this happens, one side of the body weakens first and the balanced flow system of the body is upset. Further damage is done when the healthier side of the body attempts to compensate for the weakened side. As the flows become blocked on both sides, muscles, such as calf muscles, may tighten up and this in turn may lead to pinched nerves such as what happens with the sciatic nerve. As all these negative processes take place, certain flows have to go somewhere but since they can't go to their regular destinations they tend to pile up on a person's skull. The trapped energy on one's skull builds up while only a small portion of it is able to escape the body by transferring to the space around the skull.

A BASIC MASSAGE: A good massage, on its own, may be able to restore some of the flows of the body and get things flowing again so as to allow some of thetrapped energy to dissipate. However, the person's stress of being pulled in conflicting directions, the mental component of his ailment, is not addressed by standard massage.

A MASSAGE PLUS A SESSION COMBINED: The session is introduced so as to tackle the area which the massage left untouched.

You have good medical treatments available, good chiropractic treatment and good massage treatment but none of those techs, as good as they are, attempt to go after both the physical component of a body problem and the mental component leading up to it. The 2 treatments above could implement my massage treatment into what they already are doing and they might have a terrific therapy. We know that is not likely to happen. First, it is not scientific enough to be accredited and second, if it was determined that psychological treatment was required, the MD or Chiropractor would have to refer his patient to a Psychiatrist or Psyschologist. With those two mainstream techniques out of the picture, that leaves Massage as the only physical type treatment that I can think of which can be mixed with mental healing techniques to form a new therapy.

THE THEORY OF WHY MASSAGE COMBINED WITH MENTAL THERAPY WORKS

At first, as the patient talks about his problem, bodily flows may improve a little but not that much is happening. Now, out of nowhere, the masseur ACKNOWLEDGES the patient. This is unexpected. None of the other people the patient had told his problem to had ever given a good acknowledgement. Therefore, the patient talks more and again to his surprise the masseur acknowledges even stronger. The patient starts to cheer up, he/she starts to think, maybe this masseur is the expert I was looking for all along; he is the one who will advise me how to solve my problem. The patient then starts talking more and the mass on the person's skull starts to strongly flow off of the skull, down the practitioner's body and into the floor. With this release of mass, the patient suddenly blurts out the solution to his/her problem, on her own. She waits for the practitioner's response, worried that it might be negative. Instead the practitioner loves the patients proposed solution and makes a big fuss about how good it is. At that point, the patient really blows out; she realizes that she was the expert she was always looking for all along. She sees that her earlier attempts to solve her problem were fruitless and made matters only worse but somehow, once all that bad energy was released from her head, she was immediately able to visualize the excellent solution to her stress which she had just figured out on her own!

Looking at it analytically, the person themselves should be the best possible person for solving their own problems. They alone know themselves, know all the other persona involved and know all the other nuances and idiosyncrasies involved so who could possibly be better than the person himself or herself in solving their own problem?

Huge surge in readership takes place

On Wednesday morning about 6:30 AM, I noticed we had just achieved 1,780,000 views on this thread. This morning, Friday, I turned on my computer at 9:00 AM and we had 1,792,600 views. That amounts to 12,600 views in just a bit over two days. That is by far the best we have achieved so far. The previous high for one day was 4,800, achieved about 8 months ago. Just a handful of the viewers are ESMB registered members, about 99% are lurkers or people being directed to the thread via search engines.

Some Good Repercussions from the Horrible Terror Killings in France

Some good has come from the terrible terror killings in France late last week. On Saturday, President Al-Sisi of Egypt made a speech to Islamic religious leaders concerning the state of Jihad
and terror killings in the world and how they reflect on the religion of Islam and how Islam is perceived by non Muslims.

A lot of pundits in the USA and world wide have been saying that it is the responsibility of good Muslims to speak out against abuses being committed by radical Islamic cults which are attempting to identify with and hijack their religion. Over the years since 9-11-01, only a few leaders of the peace loving Islamic community have make an effort to speak out against abuses being committed in the name of Islam by various radical factions of the religion. Well that all changed last Saturday when President Al-Sisi made a speech stronger and more to the point than anyone thought possible. He is the President of Egypt, the nation with the largest Islamic population and he did not mince his words but said in no uncertain terms what many pundits have wanted said for the last 15 years.

This President reminds me of a former Egyptian President, Anwar Sadat who made peace with Israel only to be assassinated a short time later. Sadat and not Al-Sisi appear to me to be great men in the mold of Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela. The excuse given for peaceful Muslim leaders not to speak out is their fear of being killed by the militant terrorists. Fully knowing the potential danger which he may have put himself into, Al-Sisi spoke out anyway. He is a very brave man.

The other major good news was that 3.7 million people marched in Paris yesterday, championing the right of free speech. Not only that but heads of state, such as Merkel of Germany, came to lock arms with the president of France and march together. Even President Netanyahu of Israel and President Abbas of the Palestinian authority were in the front line near each other with arms locked with other leaders.

There was also a ceremony held in the Grand Synagogue in Paris which was attended by 1,600 clerics, including Christian< Islamic and Jewish clerics! Netanyahu delivered a speech in French to the assembly. Not only does he speak Hebrew and English without an accent but he also speaks French, and other languages. That is impressive.

Another bit of good news was that though 4 Jewish men were killed by terrorists in a butcher shop last Friday, 15 other people who were shopping in the store were lead to safety by a young 1` year old Muslim employee who was working in the store when the murderers first arrived. He turned of the freezer motot and turned on its lights and led the 15 fortunate shoppers downstairs into the the freezer. After the 4 upstairs were murdered, the terrorists left the premises and the 15 shoppers all survived unscathed.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST WAS A BIT OF SAD NEWS.
With all the good news above we have the sad news that President Obama did not show up for the parade in Paris. He did not even send Vice President Biden and also Secretary of State John Kerry did not attend, Nor did Obama cabinet member, Eric Holder, who was actually in Paris the day of the march but left on schedule without rescheduling his flight so as to be able to participate in the parade.
