I don't see much of the 3rd Reich type of stuff present in Hubbard's methods of operations. Only two areas where the 3rd Reich was successful and Hubbard may have emulated their tech come to mind. The first area would be Propaganda and Public Relations. including the telling acceptable truths which are actually lies, The second technique was in creating an enemy for everyone to hate and to blame for all the evils present in society.

Hitler picked the Jews as his enemy and as the cause for all evils in the world while Hubbard picked the Psychiatric profession. In the area of Propaganda, Hitler himself was a master at it, especially in his very emotional speeches. Dr. Joseph Goebbels was University trained and had a PHD in Public Relations. This guy was one of the most evil men who ever lived. It is interesting to look into his eyes while he is making a speech. The evil present in those eyes is hard to confront. Check it out on an old news reel:

That's a lot of third Reich stuff, Lakey! You sound like your trying to disprove yourself!

But also; uniforms, the obvious one; total dedication to one leader, the end justifies the means kind of ethics, being the master race, etc.

Not to mention the reason behind these similarities; they both were into the same western mystery tradition and eastern occultism.

The uniforms were patterned after the American Naval uniforms worn by Hubbard during WW2 when he was in the U.S. Navy. The German Navy called the Deutche KriegsMarine had spifier uniforms, the uniform of a normal sailor reminds me of something Bluto might have worn in the Pop Eye cartoons. The officers uniform was similar to the US Naval officers but as I say, it was spifier.

I will concede the one leader principal, you are correct on that point. The end justifying the means kind of ethics, yes both Hubbard and the 3rd Reich had that going but that tenet is pretty much universal to all armies and navies, not just the German armed forces so I would deny that point as being valid. The Master Race, that is an interesting point, I thought about that but ruled it out because the S.O. did not come out for slavery or racism, that was never part of S.O. policy. However, the S.O. did consider themselves Homo Novis as compared to other humans being homo sapiens so I will concede that tenet to you. So instead of the two tenets I proposed, thanks to Rmack, I am now raising that to 4 tenets where the S.O. and Third Reich matched up.

Here are some photos of German Naval uniforms during WWII: https://www.google.com/search?q=Ger...WWII-German-sailors-sense-humour.html;468;291

You're still talking yourself out of your own point.

I admire that sort of thing.

I would definitively concede one point, though; the Nazis did have spiffier uniforms!

Thanks for this Lakey,

CHILLING. I had watched short pieces of Goebbels on film before and it made my fur stand up. He and Reinhard Heydrich both. There feels something 'not' German about Goebbels. Maybe Teutonic is the ambiance. As if he is a reincarnation from a similar Atlantean race still at war. It's a wonder Hubbard didn't pick him to personify a rerun of a whole track bad guy. I'll do it then. :whistling:

What do you mean about talking myself out of my own point. I came up with only two things the S.O. had in common with the 3 Reich and then you gave a few more example and I accepted two of them for a grand total of 4 items which the two organizations share. That is still not a whole lot of items and as a matter of fact, those for items are probably also held in common with The Japanese Navy, the Soviet Navy and the Italian navy, maybe other Navy's as well, perhaps the Finish Navy and the Spanish Navy.

Anywhere there was a dictator running things who had a Navy, that Navy is going to have those in things in Common. Take Dictators, Germany had Hitler, Italy had Mussolini, Japan had Tojo, the USSR had Stalin, Spain had Franco and Finland had Mannerheim. so they all had Navies. As far as telling lies, the Nazi's followed that policy as did the USSR under Stalin, as did Italy under Mussolini as did Franco under Spain. Franco, lied to Hitler to avoid Hitler dragging him into the war against England in 1940. I don't think that Mannerheim in Finland lied.

On having a master race or a special elevated status for its people. Germany sure had it, and Mussolini also manifested that with his illusions of reviving the old Roman Empire and Japan definitely had it, believing that their nation had the most dedicated and best warriors and that they were destined to rule over all of Eastern Asia. I do not think that Stalin held any tenet that the Russians were superior to other people nor did Franco in Spain, to my knowledge, nor did Mannerheim in Finland. However, Great Britain must have believe that tenet for many centuries, while creating their huge empire.

Having a common enemy to blame everything on and to hate existed in Germany with the Jews, in Japan, with the USA, in the USSR, in their war on Democracies and Capitalism, I don't know whether Mussolini had manufactured a common enemy or not. Franco had one in the communists.

Anyway, RMAC, I am more interested in finding the truth than in proving myself right. But since I admitted 2 tenets in common with the 3rd Reich and then upped it to 4 to go against "myself", now I am going to move in my own direction and reduce your claim.

In your claim that the S.O. had many things in common with the 3rd Reich, you limited the comparison to only the 3rd Reich. I am going to weaken your argument now by saying that virtually everything the S.O. has in common with the 3rd Reich, they also had in common with the governments of Japan, Italy, the USSR and Spain during WWII. You can't just pick Germany and say they shared many things with them. That is cherry picking your results

The truth is that they had only two things in common with the USA and had 4 things in common with Germany, Italy, Japan, the USSR and Spain. That shows little correlation between the S.O and the 3rd Reich but a moderate correlation between the S.O. and dictatorships of that time!! Why does that correlation exist? Because Hubbard was a Dictator himself.

Really interesting Hats. I'm glad you liked that Goebbels clip. I have not watched Heydrich on video, I'll go check him out. Goebbels just doesn't come from the same place in humanity as a normal guy out on the street. He appears to come from some dark place, probably living under a rock in some deep recess of a horrible time on the backtrack of the universe.

You do know, that Mrs. Goebbles, Magda, was dating a Jewish man in the 1920's and she was participating in the Zionist movement, during that time. She and her Jewish boyfriend spent a lot of time in Palestine in the 1920's before she became Mrs. Goebbels in 1931. The Goebbels family had 6 beautiful children, all blondes with blue eyes. The day after Hitler shot himself, April 30, 1945, Goebbels had his wife and 6 children brought to the bunker. All 6 of the children were poisoned by their parents and then Mr. and Mrs. Goebbles killed themselves. Fortunately one son, Harald. from a different Father was still alive and in the POW camp in North Africa when peace finally came on May 7th. Harald survived the war and led a long and productive life in the newly formed West Germany.

Oh Farrakhan compares auditing to Jesus exorcizing Demons. It was him.

I had downloaded pictures of that family a while back. Somebody took photos of the dead that looked as if the deaths occured a bit before the bunker actually fell. I could 't believe they would kill the children. I know Hitler's doctor was snuck out of that bunker onto a plane to Switzerland in the final moments. The children almost made it but momma changed her mind. Sick , dying for a lost dream.

Re: Unusual Befellows - This is really an odd mix.

Whatever method he is using, my point had to do with how easy it is for him to his manipulate congregation and get them to buy into any ideas which he is selling to his flock. BTW, he was not 100% successful. a couple of high placed officials in the Nation of Islam broke away from Farrakhan and the acceptance of Hubbard's Dianetics into NOI's approved lkist of techniques.

Discussions of the method which he is using to persuade his flock to go along with him are interesting and good data to know but that is a separate subject from what I was trying to illustrate. I was simply pointing our how quickly he could get his congregation to back him up on something which at first seemed to strongly contradict the core beliefs of Nation of Isalm.

I do that the he gave accurate data in the first 4 or 5 minutes of the video when he described why it is valid for Blacks to be educated by Whites if they are just going for gaining knowledge so as to help them better there lives. He talked about his bout with cancer, and how his daughter, a nurse who studied at a white university, learned enough about medicine from white people to save Farakhan's life. That seemed like a very powerful argument and it sounded like it was 100% true.
Lakey

Right, I never talked about the content of his speech, except to paraphrase from the video where he compares auditing to Jesus exorcizing demons in the Koran!

I didn't talk about the content because it seems not relevant (to me) since by using NLP he could have said anything as long as it matched the crowd and they would have done just like Hitler's sycophants, clapped and cheered and believed anything he said. Since these techniques themselves allow one human being to control others, then it seemed to me that everything he said was just to gain that control. So while some of what he said may have been true and so on, his motives to say those things were given in a facetious manner in my opinion. (Although sounding VERY sincere! lol) Thus the content of the hypnotic command (the entire speech) was filled with a bunch of truths (as you described) plus the poison slipped in too (The Solution). Anything worthwhile was cancelled since the entire speech had the The Solution in the background.

That speech didn't work on me and would probably not work on many others because the narratives did not match (me) and therefore nothing triggers to listen to it. But for those there, the true parts did trigger and through use of body language and the rest I described, he was then able to slip in the other parts they had initially been a bit uncomfortable with (The Solution.)

It was just interesting to watch the entire "process" in action all the way to its "EP."

Re: Unusual Befellows - This is really an odd mix.

I watched it. He's using NLP (neurolinguistic programming) throughout.

One example at the very start:

The people there are standoffish (let's assume). His hands are folded back behind his back, non-threatening. (mimicry, stands back.)
The suggestion: I am you.
Continues the mimicry - now with a childlike tone, as if they are children.
As they buy into his one lines barrage of platitudes he gets more emphatic, builds the momentum.
Adds Sympathy: talks about having cancer.
Adds Enemy: creates a different foe - the Jewish doctors, x's on his neck.

And other things.....

I don't think his style is admirable. But, I do think he knows
how to play and manipulate a crowd,
as a control method.

Adds Ruin, massages the ruin:
We were deprived of self-knowledge, deprived of our history, culture.

The list of platitudes is too long to list out here.
Adds the Solution.
Then the discovery of Dianetics: the solution.
He says, yeah, let's exorcize our demons.

By the time he is through, auditing out the subconscious becomes
analogous to the work of Jesus excorcizing demons in the Koran.

He just slipped Dianetics into the Koran. Sleight of hand
once he had the foment at high pitch.

The puppets under his spell.
Insane leaders often have that gift to mesmerize the crowd.

I haven't commented at all on the truth of not of any of his comments.
Only on his rhetorical wizardry, the way he does it.

This Louis Farrakhan is such a rabble rouser, demagogue.

Hubbard talked about rabble rousers, and yet hubbard (and DM following in his footsteps) was one. LOL

Rhetoric. LOL

This Louis Farrakhan is such a rabble rouser, demagogue.

Hubbard talked about rabble rousers, and yet hubbard (and DM following in his footsteps) was one. LOL

Rhetoric. LOL

I oppose racial rabble rousers. The USA is treated as if it has the worst race record in the history of this planet. That simply is not true. You take Black slavery, it was going on here for several hundred years under British rule, the USA didn't even exist all that time be we are lumped together with British Rule for centuries even though our country would not officially exist until 1781.

So then we become a country in 1781 but we have to fight a war against England to gain our Independence. Already by 1781, there was little or no slavery in our Nothern States and Northen Abolitionists were white people risking their lives to smuggle out Black slaves from the South to the North.

Okay, the fledgling USA has to fight a war of Independence against mighty England, the strongest country in the world at that time. If we don't have the Southern states participate in the War of Independence with us, then we lose the War to England and there is no USA. So to gain our independence, we allow the Southern States to keep their slaves. That makes sense because if we had not done that, the English would have kept slave trading going.

Now, the USA is a country, say a Thomas Jefferson is born into a wealthy family who has slaves. Lets say he is growing up and he sees slaves on his family's land. He can't just outlaw slavery overnight. He notices slavery, probably thinks it is wrong and maybe decides that he will work to get it outlawed by entering a career in politics. WHAT THE HELL, HE SIMPLY DOESN'T HAVE THE POWER TO UNDO SLAVERY AS A YOUTH OR EVEN AS AN ADULT. He can write against it and he can treat his slaves well but that is about all that he can do to help them during his lifetime.

It is very similar to phasing out gasoline cars and phasing in electric cars. Commerce exists based on the oil industry. It will take a few decades to phase out gas and deisel and go with renewable, non carbon sources.

Look at the USA record on race. 1781 our country is formed and by 1865 slavery is abolished, a period of 84 years, only one lifetime. We did not start this process ourselves but inherited it from the British. In 84 years we abolished it. That is just a fantastic and superlative record but to hear a Revernd Jeremiah Wright talk about it, it is pure unmitagated evil. Where do we go from 1864? Jim Crow laws in the south all the way until 1964, 100 years more of Jim Crow laws. Then we have the 1964 Civil Rigjhts act and by 2008. our first Black President is sworn in. That is a pretty damn good record for any country!! It is really an unprecedented achievement and yet we are taught the opposite from fools such as Reverend Jeremiah Wright or race baters such as Al Sharpton.

Reverand Louis Farrakhan may be a lot of things but one thing he is not is a fool. I believe that his views are biased and maybe he is a master of NLP or some such but the man is a very sharp individual. Even though I don't agree much with his theology, it is folly to put him on a par with Reverend Wright. Wright is not in Farrakhan's league, not by a longshot. I am talking about intelligence here, logic, public speaking ability and charisma. The fact that President Obama was a member of Wright's Church for 20 year just scares the hell of out me. That fact is just incredible, that a future president of the USA would sit in a church like Wright's for 20 years and not just walk out after the first 3 or 4 sermons. That such a man could be elected and then be re elected is just frightening for the future of this country. Even for you Democrats, Hillary would have been better than Obama, almost anyone would have been better, Joe Biden or whoever else. Even Al Gore would have been better.

People get caught up in the excitement of some ideal or another and forget that ideals don't reside in the real world.

So often those we choose and those we end up with are not the same by a long shot, as in the case of a president, and this sort of thing happens all the time. Otherwise how would lawyers survive.

Just so you know, for future reference. When you post a paragraph in ALL CAPS, that is always construed as shouting (in Net etiquette, sometimes called Netiquette). The apparency of yelling, accusation of wrongdoing and threatening to report Churchill to Mods for doing something he didn't do etc. seemed, to me, a whole lot different from "I just asked the poster to repost it".
