Re: The old days - Aboard the Apollo - 1973

Summer outfits... now that reminds me. One of the few (very few) upsides of working at London Org was that being in central London, some absolutely gorgeous women would be constantly passing by the place. There was no mistaking that summer had arrived when the coats disappeared and the sexy tops were on display once more.</letch>

Long ago I came to realize that without women there would be no reason at all to be on this planet.

Long ones, short ones, tall ones, skinny ones, big boned ones, surfer girls, dancers - there is just no end to beautiful women !

Why ?

Women are beautiful, that's why !

Love, Blessings, & all Good Things to those who want it.

Lakey

I just realized something that may help you understand me and what I am saying [since day one on this forum, no matter what post I make].

Since sometimes there may be a confusion about communication and what it means to different persons.

1.) Some communicate to arrive at an exact true statement.

2.) Some communicate to be understood [agree]. Rephrase: to make progress in reaching mutual understanding. Such that they communicate to agree. I say x and you say y and we keep talking until we agree. That being a goal.

3.) Some communicate just to experience life. No goal. No exact statements or definitions. Just as unfiltered as possible.

I live in the world of paradigm 3.

I am not part of the progress equation. I do not find I spiritually need that paradigm [I find it ugly]. I love purple so I turned my world purple for you there, above. :)

Purple is a good 60s color. Right On!

Be nice now. Be generous.

We are all stuck here together on this hunk of dirt.

I really did think that mentioning I thought you expressed yourself very well in that particular post was nice but not overly generous.

Should I have been nicer & more generous ?

I'd not seen anyone anywhere so concisely write " Philosophy asks questions " while scn claims to answer questions.

It just struck me as noteworthy.

I'll go back & try to change my post.

Added edit : I was able to go back & delete my comment about that post.

just stay as you are a
sort of wart who likes to play at everyone.
you are fun....and should stay fun.

it is fine.

I meant, try be nicer to Lakey.
But that is just a wish, not a command.

You be happy and that is what counts.

My commenting on what clarity you expressed in a post you wrote didn't having anything to do with Lakey.

It was a comment I made to you about a post you made regarding Philosophy & teachers in contrast to gurus with their followers.

This is starting to feel really weird to me. I think I need a break these going on.

I did not say a word about Lakey & I didn't quote Lakey yet somehow you post I should "try be nicer to Lakey".

This must be Lakey Land !

To each........whatever.

Personally, I find beauty in a woman with how she talks WITH you, looks at you, smiles and just makes you feel good being in her company. How any of us looks is one thing, it's more about how you are together, if that makes any sense.

I find people beautiful....... or at least lovely !

Never met a person I didn't find something to like about !

I stole from someone else ( long ago ) :

" The physical package of a person is 2% & the other 98 % is who is home"

.....Oh & before I get chided again for not being nicer to Lakey :

Lakey is a handsome man.
Lakey is a very intelligent man.
Lakey likes opera.
This is Lakey's thread.

Re: The old days - Aboard the Apollo - 1973

Yup, 'fraid so MrN.

You got it in one!

If I could do that I'd be a very happy bunny. Doubtless I could check the internet on exactly how to do it but I'm absolutely crap at woodwork so I'm not even going to attempt it even if I had the tools - which I don't.

Last time I tried that stunt on a guitar I ended up having to refret the whole neck. DOH! (That I did manage successfully.)

No, I never had to meddle with the truss rod. Nice low action, slightly concave relief, steady as she goes. :)

Damn, with all this joking around, this post almost escaped me. Sorry.

So let's get down to the core of the problem. Is the guitar octave clean? How many of the frets are in the wrong position? How far away from their correct position are the frets? How thick is the fingerboard? How high are the frets, measured from the surface of the fingerboard to their top? In which direction is each fret off the mark?

EDIT:
What sort of strings do you use on that guitar? Because "ultra-lights" (0.008 or 0.007 even more so) have a tendency to go out of tune - pressing them firmly down on to the fretboard is already enough to bend the tone.

Beautiful post!! I must admit that some parts I like and some parts seem to sail over my head. On your making your world Purple, I think that is one of the things that I understand. Part of the fun and pleasure of meeting you on ESMB 3 1/2 months ago is that you don't always march to the same drummer as I do. Not only that but often I don't understand the drummer which you are marching to.

You seem always willing to explain your positions to me and all board members. Sometimes I get it and readily agree, some times I don't agree but always. I respect your opinions and the positions which you taking in running your life.

Of you 3 paradigms, I have familiarity only with #1 and #2. The one you live in, #3, was not previously real to me. Its hard for me to think in that paradigm and I would have to make a paradigm shift (pun intended) to be in #3. I can see beauty in the concept of #3, it is a different approach than anything I have tried before in my own life. I need to work more with it to make the concepts more mine, and not just something that Maria recommends for herself. Still, since you recommend it for your own life and I have respect for you, my first inclination is figure that it must be good. Translation: I have bought Paradigm #3's spokesman but now I have to take that Paradigm on a full "test drive" to make sure that it will also work for me.!

Well you practice a bit in third [3] and see how funner life is.

I get that you will downshift depending on the road and then back up again. When that is working may discuss fourth gear. Or not. lol. 3 may take years of practice to even touch.
