Thanks to Sweetness and Light and to Zinj.

S and L - You are no longer left out, go back and check my post, I edited you in for acknowledging me. Were my Jewish ancestors really into this type of thinking thousands of years ago? Its hard to believe. Wouldn't this type of thought be blasphemous since it looks beyond Genesis for answers? I really appreciate your ack. Good old Uncle Moishe and Cousin Solomon, what a heritage I have, those guys were nobody's fools. I wonder if Hubbard was around then?

Zinj - you make an interesting point! If I get what you are saying, isn't it similar to saying that the "carrier wave" of an art form or a communication is equal to or more important than the particles themselves of the communication which is being carried?

Freude schoner Gotterfunken, tochter aus Elysium. Wir betreten feurer trunken, Himmliche dein Heligtum.

Joy, beautiful spark of Gods. Daughter of Elysium. We enter, fire imbibed. Heavenly, thy sanctuary. Official English Translation off of internet. I think Zinj's point holds up. Notice Gods is used plural.

of course, in other words, it is the meta-message

listen to Chuck Berry, with that pulsating rhythm. Sweet Little Sixteen or Brian Wilson's Surfin' USA. - same tune, different lyrics. The message is get off your tush, and dance.

McLuhan shined in the last political campaign. Obama's message was Twitter, Facebook, Blackberry, internet access. McCain's was " I don't do e mail"

The medium is the message.

The media vs. the message.

Carmelo, do you mean this literally or metaphorically? I would not go quite so far as to agree with the quote literally.

Talking about the McCain vs Obama race, Obama's Vice Presidential runing mate Biden was all medium. The man was tall, had great posture, looked fit and his thick white hair gave him an appearance of wisdom. He had suffered and recovered from enormous personal tragedies plus he had been in Congress forever and a day. In short his medium was impeccable. Then he would open his big fat mouth and everything he uttered was complete buffoonery, meaningless cliches and trite political banalities and the gaffes he made were astounding. Once he was muzzled by the Obama campaign managers, the public immediately forgot his ineptness and his carrier wave quickly overcame any damage he had done to the campaign. His big toothy grin and firm handshake was enough to make him look good. No matter how stupid the things he said were, they were overlooked completely and the fact that he "looked presidential" ruled the day.

GREATNESS IN ENTERTAINERS AND COMMUNICATORS
When you have both the "medium" and the "message", then you get your greats, your immortals. You know, our beloved Jack Benny did it mostly on medium. He would fold his arms in front of his body, look askance, to the side and say, "Well" and he would bring down the house, almost no message at all, just one word. He would stand up and start to play the violin and play some screechy, bad notes, again he would bring down the house. Such strong medium, the message was just a minor artifice. Yet he could put together a good message as well and hence he was a GREAT!

The Beatles, great medium and superlative messages in their songs. IMMORTALS. Elvis, great medium, very good message (only rarerly great but always at least very good), he's an immortal. Roy Orbison, great voice, great songs such as "Pretty Woman" but just average carrier wave - he was popular but not even close to being a great and so it goes.

Take an actor such as Humphrey Bogart, his medium was so great, it didn't matter at all what he said, the audiences were mesmerized by his presence and hung on every word - an IMMORTAL

This is a very interesting area to study. My first question would be, is the great carrier wave something which someone is born with or can it be developed through study and practice.? I just had a little cognition here. The question I just posed has similar overtones to my very recent thread on "Big Beings" and whether they exist. There is definitely a correlation between the concept of having a great carrier wave and being perceived as a "Big Being".

The funny thing about 'funk' in german is that, while it means spark, it's also used for 'broadcast', as in radio/tv broadcast as rundfunk

Slight correction: spark would be "Funke" in German, plural "Funken", and radio/TV broadcast would be "Funk", without having a plural. Two different words.

On the tilde . . . the way to pull it of, and you can't do it directly into this app, is to do it in a word doc via "insert", "symbol" . . . select the magic symbol you want (any of those foreign language do-dads) then copy and past into your ESMB post . . . like this: Ñ ö ē ľ ñ èťç

R

That's one possibility. It's faster if you say "Charmap" in the "Run" command of the start menu. There you have all characters and can just copy/paste them.

Hi Lakey,

here is your editor :)

Take this:

Freude, schöner Götterfunken, Tochter aus Elysium,
wir betreten feuertrunken, Himmlische, dein Heiligtum.
Deine Zauber binden wieder, was die Mode streng geteilt.
Alle Menschen werden Brüder, wo dein sanfter Flügel weilt...

I just posted my Celebrity Centre Story of Origin yesterday among the General Discussion thread. Today I got a couple of replies. I answered a reply by a person called Freethinker. Shortly afterwards I decided to Google "Celebrity Center History" to see if any story such as mine had ever been attempted before or if Wikepedia had anything on the subject.

There is no other attempt at anything like a Celebrity Centre history. One reference mentions that LRH spelled out the need to get celebrities into Scientology in 1955 and that is it. There are no other references but as I scrolled down a couple of lines there was my story, "Celebrity Centre Story of Origin" It is in very large print, has a summary of the highlights of the story and a link right in to my discussion with Freethinker. My post to Freethinker couldn't have been more than one hour ago and immediately it is up on Page 1 of a Google Search on the topic. I guess we are in the age of "Big Brother" is watching you. I guess one must be careful of what one says.

No reason to worry about 'Big Brother'. The reason it came up at the top of the search is because it's the only one google could find using the key words you used to search with it. Especially so if you used quotation marks, which I use frequently in my research to sift through all the nonapplicable stuff that pops up.

BTW, I loved reading both threads. I took a few hours off the usual routine and delved into them both. Thanks for taking the time to post all that.

Mary, As the one who started the thread and the official host here, I welcome you to the thread!! I can't believe that you read both threads including this one. Are you saying you read literally, all 105 pages so far? If so, I am very honored that you read the portions written by me, i.e. my Apollo story and my CCLA story plust the new CC Story of Origin story. I just love writing this stuff so it is not just altruism that drives me but also a creative impulse plus just plain having fun. I've been saying, I have one of those photgraphic type encyclopedic memories which has only gotten stronger since I started writing here. I might as well put it to use.

Thanks for your tips on the search engine technology. I have experimented with what will get one right to the thread on Google. First of all, Celebrity Centre has to be spelled Centre and not Center. The latter spelling will not get one there. Then, if you put the word history in, it alway comes up. The three key words would be "Celebrity Centre History" or "Celebrity Centre Story" or Celebrity Centre Origin" As I remarked back on the thread, I found a small piece of the physical universe fabric with a hole or gap where information belonged. I made a decision to fill the gap with truth and I have done so. My reward is a feeling of exhilaration for finding something that needed fixing and then fixed it totally in a professional manner. I have as a reward meeting many new friends along the way and dealing with several of the actual people who were there when the history of CC was made. Also, with Yvonne, I had my ups and downs with her personally as you know, I guess, after reading my story. Still, the thought of someone achieving what she did achieve, initially on her own and then with her sidekick mystery auditor at her side, it is simply wrong to know what happened there and how that place was formed and to not acknowledge Yvonne. That wrong is now corrected, TERMINATEDLY CORRECTED, to use an old S.O. phrase. Now that it is up on Google as #1 item on a simple search, it is public record and my mission has been brought to fruition in the physical universe. YVONNE AND HER MYSTERY AUDITOR HAVE BOTH BEEN PROPERLY RECOGNIZED FOR START THAT ORG. Whatever your feelings about C of S, when those of us worked there at the time, we were the "Young Lions" and believed with all our hearts that we were working to benefit mankind. The way things have developed, there are certainly valid viewpoints that we were not helping mankind as we believed but that is a different subject, a subject for another day, another story. Somebody needs to write it and in fact on ESMB, there have been many vital threads about that story, stating many different viewpoints, most of them vital. I just want this story to stand on its own as the truth of how and why an Org was formed. I have no qualms about what I did back in the 1970's when helping that Org to grow and in this time nearly 40 years later in telling the story of the Org. I believed I was sacrificing everything to help mankind, as did virtually every other person involved. I had a clean conscience about that and still do. I lot of great stars and Celebrities have been affiliated with the Centre. The story stands on its own and is a piece of truth. How Celebrity Centre Int is judged today is an independent story that maybe someone else will tell.

Mary, I hope you post here regularly!

Hi, yes I did read all those pages, lol!

I have an interest in Celebrity Centre as I was public at CCI in the very early 80s after Yvonne was gone and the place was somewhat left to it's own devices and pretty much ignored by Int management.

Being that the Manor Hotel was located there, it was a fun place to meet people although it was clear that Pam Lancaster-Johnson was left understaffed and overwhelmed to the point of getting ill, which did happen. She had to have her spleen removed by emergency surgery. Dennis Young had been there but he was removed. I guess Int wanted the glamor and attention taken away because it sure worked. Celebrity Centre became a dead org compared to others with packed courserooms.

Only later in 84 or so did the push come to fix up the place and make it into what it is today, if I recall correctly.

Thanks for writing all that. It was very insightful.

Yes, they really were thinking about this kind of stuff, remember I said it was Jewish metaphysics, the mystical branch, not the legalistic folks! The deep thinkers...I think you come by that trait honestly, Lakey! :)

This gentile enjoys studying and thinking about it too, so as a Christian I honor my Jewish "ancestors", also. Some fundamentalist Christians plotz when I refer to Jesus as "my Rabbi" or remind them that he and his posse were Jewish! :D So silly, really! :eyeroll:

Thanks Lakey, for editing me back into history... (of the thread- :D)...my gravitas feels weightier, somehow! LOL! :p

Thanks, Heidrun, for the good translations! :)

I like the thought of broadcasting sparks of light, even if it is a play on words! According to Kabbalah, that is the way the Universe began...and our personal job here on earth is to discover and reunify those sparks of light (hint, one is hidden within each of us until we find it in ourselves and see it in each other, and let it shine forth and manifest so that all may clearly see it, like a buried treasure...). In Christian metaphysics, this is what is known as becoming a clearer transparency for Spirit, or Truth, or Soul, or God, or Universal Energy to shine through your being, however you conceive of your higher power. :coolwink:

Pretty shiney around here, I'd say! :D :happydance:

When I read "The Medium is the Message" way back in the late 60s or, perhaps early 70s, I was very impressed.

To this day, I apply its datum in analysis of live events and personalities.

If I get a letter by Fed Ex, I open it.

If I get a letter by snail mail, I tend to ignore it, and leave it unopened.

The medium, one uses for communication, dictates others' reactions. Unless you're Sam Walton (who drove a pick up truck), driving to a Hollywood premiere in anything other than a limo, Mercedes, Beemer, or better - you would be sniggered at.

I did a seminar with someone who was brilliant, but handed out rough Xeroxed sheets. Ugggh. If you (the general term)are so smart, your materials better look professional. You better look professional. Most people don't see past the mask.

We live in a world where first impressions count more than substance.

If you are selling a house, it is more important to have a nice looking house from the street than to have a functioning water heater. Even in a tear down, it is important to remove all of the cludge, and present a neat, tidy, and freshly painted house than it is to have any functioning appliances.

I have said the most awful things to employees, such as "your breath is horrible," "you have BO," etc. I've done it with warmth and caring, not put down. The meta message - the message beneath and unseen by the recipient is more important than any special wording.

As for "Oh, Pretty Woman" by Roy Orbison, I can't imagine it not being played a hundred years from now.

Some of Roy Orbison's stuff is classic. Some isn't. Same with Chuck Berry. There are so few performers, writers, and artists whose works live on for centuries.

I fall back on the quote by William Goldman, the writer of "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid," he said, "Nobody knows anything." He was talking within the context of the movie being a huge success and a classic. When je wrote it, it was just a B western. When "Wizard of Oz" opened, it wasn't an immediate hit. "Casablanca" had numerous rewrites and actor changes. Ronald Reagan originally had the role of Rick.

I tend to **believe** in spiritual guides, guardian angels (many other words meaning the same thing), spiritual teammates helping shepherd or sabotage events as they materialize in the physical universe.

If a project - anything from a political campaign to a musical recording to a child being born is created or co created out of harmony and cooperation among not only the beings with the bodies, but the beings around the people, then things go well. When there are ulterior motives, rancor, etc then projects can't succeed.

This thread has messages unwritten within it. For me, they are enjoyable entertaining reading, characters we care about, tech philosophy and observations that others can use, generally high road thinking. Not delving into the debased activities of the Co$. Bringing out the best of people, not the ugly underbelly.

I feel like I'm talking around what I'm trying to say. i can't seem to find the right words. As Annie Hall would say, "La De Da, La De Da"

Up in the Air

George Clooney and Vera Farmiga are terrific.

The same director as "Juno"

people that you care about.

a slice of life

really good writing

I heard Jason Reitman on NPR , Terry Gross' show "Fresh Air" - there are some marvelous non professional actors in this.

really good movie, not a happy ending, feel good movie. Worth 2 hours of your time.

Carmelo, I had something going on in this area. It was amazing! I would be listening to talk radio in my car and something would prompt me to change to either a classical or a popular radio station. I would make the change and a song which I love such as Van Morrison's "Pretty Brown Eyed Girl" would just be starting, or it might be a classical piece I used to love and hadn't heard in a ages or Simon and Garfunkel. The success rate on this working for me was 80% to 85%. I called this spiritual guide, "My Sentinnel". I decided to acknowledge it every time it worked and this strengthened it. About a month ago, I got an Idenics session from Mike Goldstein and I told him about it. I said I liked my Sentinnel and did not want to get it to blow. Mike asked if I wanted to take a look into the area and I said yes. Much to my chagrin, I took such a good look that it blew. No more spiritual guide anymore for me. Oh well.

Yes, by coincidence I just happened to mention this the other day to Purple Haze in a private message. We are not attracting the bashers to this thread, the masters of smut and four letter words, just bashing the hell out of everything they do no like or agree with. There is one basher who I would not mind posting here and that is because of his "carrier wave". His whole "shtick" is bashing C of S but he does it with class. The guy has a good sense of humor and he can write, his screen name is often abbreviated down to "HH"

I told Purple Haze something to the effect that "High Road Thinking begets High Road Thinking" Same for High Road Humor and meaningful Poetry. More and more it is appearing that our main staple is High Road Discussions about technical developments. the type of technology which is designed to further mankind's spiritual awareness and abilities.

I feel like I'm talking around what I'm trying to say. i can't seem to find the right words. As Annie Hall would say, "La De Da, La De Da"

Advertising execs and Movie, TV and radio moguls tend to go with low road thinking, just vulgar trash, because they believe that the broad public audience is not very bright and will only respond to mediocrity or lower. Nevertheless, whenever something of fine quality does get released, often it is met with unexpected success. The public will respond to a carrier wave of a high road message. They are not as dumbed down as is believed. I think Clint Eastwood is doing some fine work in puting some very good movies out there which are traditional Hollywood in some ways but like classic art films as to their carrier waves or "medium". I cite "Million Dollar Baby", "Letters from Iwo Jima" and "Ford Fairlane" as examples of such work.

On an ex - Scientologists website, where so many members were once seeking spiritual advancement and wanted very strongly to sacrifice their lives to help others, this effect of responding to High Road Discussions is much more pronounced than it is with the general public. If we create High Road postings here, we are going to attract an elite public, not only of leading ex Scientologists but of leading public people who are here checking us out. How long will this last and where will it go? I really do not know. I do know that it depends on us keeping on creating a High Road product.

Thanks for the kind words. You have given me some additional material in case I decide to push the story further, out of the 70's and into the 80's. I quit taking courses at CC in 1975, the Org was really booming that year. Starting in '76 I switched to ASHO for study and ASHO and AOLA for receiving auditing. I went back for one more course at CC in late 1979 and early 1980. They were on La Brea then and the place looked pretty dead. . I had just turned 40 then, exactly 30 years ago, and I was really feeling like an old timer at youth oriented CCLA. What, 40 years old and an old timer, boy I'd sure like to be 40 now. I'd have everbody climbing the walls, getting out of my way, I'd be so hyped up.

Age of one's body is such a relative thing. At 40, I felt so old it depressed me, now just turning 70, I feel like a kid. At 40, I wore glasses, at 70 no glasses, got rid of them 10 years ago without Lasik, just by reading a book and doing some drills, I am 20/15 now without glasses, much better than 20/20. Perfect hearing and pitch and quick reflexes and my memory, is beyond belief, in some ways, it is everything which Hubbard promised in book one. One thing I found out is that long term memory stays despite age and may even improve but short term memory, especially where one places his keys and such takes a major hit as one ages, at least for me.

MEMORY
One odd ability I have is that every tune or pop song which I heard my entire life going back to maybe 2 years old, in 1942 is pretty much engraved in my mind, including all the lyrics. Same for old radio and TV commericials going back to when I was a kid. I remember almost every jingle, every tune from the commercials and remember who sponsored all the major shows. This also includes not just English but German. I had a record album of German Lieder which I played in th 1960's over and over and I still now the tunes and lyrics and I also know the complete lyrics to Shubert's Trout quartet and even to Beethoven's long rendition of Schiller's Ode to Joy. Since I retained all this German, it suggests to me that I spoke German extensively on my back track. Of course many people do not believe in such things and I can not prove it but it does make common sense that this is the case.

Now that we have You Tube, I can check out my memory by going and playing the songs. The top hit in 1947 was "The Tennessee Waltz", I went and heard it and sure enough, I still know the lyrics. In 1948, one of the top hits was "Mockingbird Hill" and I heard that and I know all the lyrics and in 1950 it was Vaughn Monroe with "Ghost Riders in the Sky" and Frankie Lane with "Mule Train". Going earlier, in 1946 was "Mares eat oats and does eat oats", in "1941 it was Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy of Company B" though it did not hear that until 1947 when I saw it in the Abbot and Costello movie "Buck Privates" co staring the GREAT AND IMMORTAL ANDREWS SISTERS who appear in the movie and sing the song! Also from 1941 was one my Dad used to sing to me, "The 3 little fishees" "They swam and they swam all over the dam." That song may have come out earlier in 1939 or 1940 but it was only because my Dad sang it to me as toddler that I know the lyrics. My Mom and I also had our song in the 1941 -1942 period which was something about a woodpecker pecking away all day on a tree and it would have that rhythm, rat-a-tat-tat-tat which I loved as a two year old and everytime it came on the radio, my Mom would stop what she was doing, turn up the volume and we would listen to the song together with baby Lakey on my Mom's lap. I remember it as if it just happened last week!

I think me having all this unnecessary memory is a case thing. It is not really aberated or a neurosis but it seems to me that all these memories are an overkill of what is needed to get through life successfully. I believe the memory circuits I have set up come from some sort of postulate having to do with survival. In my case, I had a computation that I always wanted to remember my way so I could go back if got into trouble. I used to mention this in auditing in my hay day in C of S. It was taken up and the memories improved instead of diminishingThere is no need to erase the computation and have the memories blow. There is no work or maintenance involved in keeping the memories up, they are just always there on call for me if I want to look at them. The only possible downside would be that they may clutter one's mind unnecessarily with unneeded details. I am sure that everybody has the same thing going on but in differing amounts. I am probably in the top 1% or 2% of the general population in this abilty.

Memory might be a valid subject for a technical discussion or I may put it up as a new thread and see what kind of feed back I get.

I said I liked this my Sentinnel and did not want to get it to blow. Mike asked if I wanted to take a look into the area and I said yes. Much to my chagrin, I took such a good look that it blew. No more spiritual guide anymore for me. Oh well.
If you ever get a chance to read a book by a sci fi author of the 50s, L. Ron Hubbard, called Dianetics. The author talks about "the file clerk"

Who do you think the file clerk is?

I would say it is your and my spiritual teammates. STs for short. Alan Walter coined the term, and clearly defined it in a talk called "Miracles and Magic" - which is a good thing for any OT3 to listen to. It is not a confidential recording. Alan fixed a major outness of Sci, ie. OT3.

In essence, we are surrounded by spirits on our team. This BY MY DEFINITION, NOT ALAN'S can include our pets. They are, if you let them, there to help you. Your visions for the future are in part implemented and created outside the physical universe. They are the "software" that we use to bring assorted events into being like your songs on the radio.

On the flip side, there are people, who have bad luck happen at every step they take. These people have STs that aren't being good team players, unless they are playing for someone else, who is an enemy.

When I did OT3 in 1973, I ended up feeling so alone. My work and life fell apart. Recovering my team was the fix for my crash. Teammates are a good thing.

in closing, I'd say "Swim said the momma fish, swim if you can, and they swam and they swam all over the dam."

Ah, that explains the dog and cat in the puzzle story you posed a couple of weeks back.

This is absolutely amazing! Did you ever write this up to Ron on the S.O.1 line?

As Jack Benny would say, "Carmelo, NOW CUT THAT OUT!" Quit showing off! Pooh Pooh dida dona wanum choo, Pooh, Pooh, dida dona wanum choo (refreain used throughout the 3 little fishies song.

This is a truly fantastic post. It goes against most everything I was taught in C of S but it totally indicates and erases mass for me and brings lots of smiles and laughs so it has got to be true. True or not, I love this post, I might post it on Sweetness and Lights" Golden quotes from ESMB thread.

Also, I am going to call up Mike Goldstein and demand a refund unless he can help me get my sentinel back.
