I beg to differ with the boys, Face and Ted. This is not a beautiful story. I've seen it more than once. The nanny likes the kids, the kids will do anything for the nanny. The mother doesn't like the competition and fires the nanny. The only difference is nowadays the nanny isn't black , but comes from Guatemala or Mexico and is illegal to boot.

There in her home country, live her children, who she sends money to. It is a really shitty deal. She gets to drive the Beemer to take the kids to school and pick them up, get groceries, and she lives in a one bedroom apartment with roaches, a huge ass motherfuckin' large TV, and three or four others.
It is not OK. It is not beautiful. The couples, who hire the nannies, pay them bupkis. They can fire them at the drop of a hat. They pay more for their wine than they do their maids. It is part of the haves and the have-nots mindset that the haves have. (yes I meant that to be funny). "People, who work for you get little pay" "We have to economize, let's only go to Kona for a week."
Not all rich people are like that, but there are certainly plenty. Especially in Hollywood, West LA, etc and Silicon Valley.
On the "Two Leaders Compared" thread, DM and Steve Jobs are the two. I can tell you that Steve Jobs had a very smart local girl / woman raising his kids when they were young. She wasn't paid wetback wages either. She bought a new Volvo and was quite happy with life.
Speaking for myself and my wife, we raised our kids without nannies. Just like with dogs and horses, bonding takes place at a young age. I wanted my kids bonded to us, not anybody else. I wanted them looking at life as we did. We specifically didn't want our kids copying bad English ("her and me, we's goin' shoppin'").
if someone is so rich, that they need a nanny to raise their kids, then I think the priorities are skewed. Raising kids is fun.
I'm down with learning as many languages as you can when you're a kid, i just don't want illiteracy lerned.

Kids are like sponges. That can be good or bad, jes depends on who's lernin' dem.
